It's time to keep moving forward even if you didn't have much of a weight loss in March. So we are starting a new challege for April. Think in terms of small goals to help you reach the larger goal.

Feel free to encourage others on this thread and to share what is working for you to take off the weight. If you stumble, feel free to share your frustrations. If we all support each other, we will see big losses by month's end.

On this thread I will track your weight loss goals for April along with your actual losses. Just post your goal (the total you would like to lose in April) in your original post, then as you lose weight come back here and report the amount you have lost. Each Wednesday, I will update this original post to reflect everyone's losses, so that you can see the progress we are making together!

As you lose weight, your name will be color coded accordingly.
0 - 2.5 lbs in Cyan
2.6 - 5 lbs in Orange
5.1 - 7.5 lbs in Magenta
7.6 - 10 lbs in Dark Orchid
Over 10 lbs in SeaGreen

So time to get out there and start losing, one pound at a time! Let's see how much we can lose as a team.

My goal for April is to lose 10 lbs. I didn't make the March goal, but I did lose some and more importantly, I started making lifestyle changes that will help me to make greater losses.

WISHing everyone luck in April.:wizard:

1 lb down is better than gaining!

I am hoping that you can take off the rest in April. Don't forget to post your final numbers for March if anything changes.

I haven't been eating well lately, although I've been going to the gym regularly. I want to lose 10 lbs this month.

We make a great team. I have been eating well, but not exercising regularly. Here's hoping that we both conquer the other half this month.

That definitely sounds like a plan. I've actually found exercise that I like, and am planning on starting a running program. Food though is my weakness. Bad food at any rate, is my weakness.

I have added everyone to the first post.

Laura, you can report your weight changes at anytime when you normally weigh in, if you would like. Some people weigh in on Fridays. Whichever you chose, I will update totals on Wednesdays, unless for some reason I am away.

Glad to see everyone here. Remember this month is a great month for making great changes.:cool1:

Well, I'm in again. I only lost 3.4 of my 7 pounds for the March challenge, so I'm going to join again and try to do better. I'll put myself down for 7 pounds again and try to do it. I might be going to camp with my youngest son in the middle of June and would love to be in the 220's by then. I went with my daughters when they were his age and I was probably in the 260's then. (I can't believe I just typed that). I got up to my high of 270 and finally started WW's. I'd like to get down to around 160 but I've got a long way to go, but I do know that it's do-able a little at a time.

Here's to a great month for everyone!

Signing up! April goal is 6lbs. it will be a challenge, I have a trip up north for a wedding in a couple of weeks, and family coming to visit next week.

I made some eating adjustments in March, started packing a couple of 100cal snacks (jello, almonds, yogurts) to snack on in between meals and the commute home, I think this really helped me avoid picking at snacks while cooking dinner. For april I'm going to try to increase my cardio..
Good Luck everyone :cheer2:

Everyone and their goals have been added to the first post.

I think that everyone has very achievable goals this month.

Patita, I think taking your snacks with you are a great idea! I always find that when I wait too long to eat that I end up overeating.

WISHing everyone much success.:wizard:

Hello,
I would love to join since I started WW last week. My goal will be 5 lbs. this month. I will weigh in on Thursday. I have been good sticking with the plan and exercising 5-6 days a week. Mostly walking or my Elliptical trainer for 30-60 minutes.

Thanks,
Nichole

After falling way off of track (but thankfully with only a small gain since last May) I need to jump back in with both feet. I think to start this month I'm going to go with a goal of 7.

I am down 1.4 lbs for the month!:cool1: My usual problem still exists, exercise. Finding a definite place to fit that into my schedule is a top priority this month.

I have added all the newcomers to the first post. Welcome!

I am looking forward to updating that post with some great losses this month. Just remember, every lb that you can lose this month means less lbs that you have to carry around during the summer when we are all more active. One step at a time and we will all get there together!

Hi... not doing as well as I hoped on the exercise front... have only gone once... but with two active kids and two jobs I have to make a conscious effort to make the time. I am also trying to quit smoking and went from a little over a pack a day to less than 1/2 a pack a day. Along with dieting!!! Yes... I am a gluton for punishment. As if quitting smoking weren't enough... we had severe storms here friday and as a result I had part of my slate room blown off and water damage in my bedroom!!! Lovely.

Long story short... I kept the smoking under control and didnt stress eat!!!:goodvibes:cool1:

I went from 223.6 tp 220.8 for a total loss this week of 2.8 pounds. Hopefully my exercising habit will improve next week.

Congrats guys for the losses. I forgot to get on the scale this morning. :headache: But truth be told, I'm a bit afraid.

I've been exercising about 5 days a week, Zumba classes and walking, but my eating has been horrible. I've been having a bit of a wallet crunch this month so I've been relying on eating cheap lousy stuff like peanut butter, and ramen noodles. I'm hoping I break even.:guilty:

Great job nappingbeauty. My weight is still staying the same, but I'm happy for no gain. My usual weighin day is Friday...so we can always hope. I told DH not to bother making me an Easter basket, this year. I don't need any extra temptations.
As of this morning I quit smoking regular cigarettes and switched to the e-cigarette. Since you can step down the strength on the e-cig. I hope to be cigarette free before our next WDW trip.

Can I play too? :)

I would like to loose another 5 lbs in the next month or two. I've lost 10 lbs so far.

I do 20 minutes of cardio then 40 minutes on my Pilates. My diet has been pretty good. The last 30 days my exercise has been consistent and my diet not too bad but I gained 5lbs and lost it in a week. I think it was water gain and bloating.

Wish me Luck!

Just posted the updates for newcomers and weight losses known so far.

For those who are weighing in in the next few days, please post ASAP and I will try to get you updated on the first post.

Laura and Wezee, my hats off to you for trying to quit smoking at this point. I know how difficult it can be to focus on two major lifestyle changes at once. Learn what triggers your stress and new ways to handle it and I think you will both do great on the weight loss front as well as the smoking front.

If U Had Wings, don't be afraid to get up on that scale. You have been exercising alot and I wouldn't worry too much that you haven't eaten alot of balanced foods. Chances are that if you are cutting back for financial reasons, you are probably cutting back your portions as well, so you will just might find that your either maintaining or losing some.

Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Well, got on the scale today and am feeling awfully disappointed. I gained a pound. I've been trying to be so good about working out, and feel like it's getting me nowhere. I'm trying to think positively and hope that some of it is a bit of bloat and water retention this week.

Here is to a better next week!

Okay, weighed in today. Total for last week and this week (month to date for April) is 1 lb down.

My weight is coming off very very slowly, averaging about 1/2 lb per week. But, they say 1/2 to 1 lb per week is healthy, so let's go with that, shall we? :cutie: I am certainly making better food choices and I'm exercising like a crazy person, so I can't beat myself up too much about it.

Have a great weekend, everyone! :hippie:

Congrats on the losses! I have updated them.

If U Had Wings, don't worry too much, it is 1 lb and there are many reasons why you are up, such as not getting enough fluids, not feeling well, not enough sleep, etc. Small fluctuations will occur from time to time. The important thing is that you got on the scale and know where you stand so that you can make adjustments. I would worry more if you didn't get on the scale when you felt you had a bad week because that is when more than 1 lb can creep back on without realizing. Hang in there.

For those celebrating the Easter holiday, remember, we can enjoy Easter dinner, but we don't have to over do it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

We went to the Little Italy section of Philadelphia and went to Maggiano's for dinner! Can we say YUMMMM!! And then of course I nibbled here and there in the kids baskets... (don't nibbles have zero caleries and fat grams:rotfl:)!

Well... today is another day and don't weigh myself till wednesday... so back to the routine! Good luck everyone!

Congrats to those who are down despite Easter!:cool1:

Easter for me was pretty good and I kept things in portion, but water was horrible and I did split a chocolate meltdown dessert from Applebees that evening when we visited DD21. However, my bigger problem came with the 2 days following Easter. A bit of nibbling on Easter candy, thank God we don't have too much and DH brought home a large bag of Doritos, which wasn't a good thing. I was tired those days and it just lead to eating the wrong things.

Needless to say, I am up a few lbs, but fortunately, I recognize what is happening and am getting back on track. Today has been good and I know that if I eat right and get my water back to where it should be that I can take those lbs back off.

Hope that everyone else has some great losses this week.

I have NOT been doing well. I haven't exercised in over a week and have been stress eating a bit.

I had a scan of my gallbladder done last week and they found a polyp so now more testing.

I sort of threw in the towel with all this stuff going on.

I need to get back and keep trying.

So no lose yet here. :rolleyes1

Lesli54
04-16-2009, 10:18 AM
bnhasak, hang in there. Medical issues are always stressful. Focus on your health right now, get some rest and take a walk where you can so that you reduce the stress. You may not lose alot of weight while doing this, but it will help maintain where you are at if are not stress eating. Sometimes all we can do is just maintain while dealing with other issues. Here's hoping that the testing goes well.:wizard:

I was a bit more on track yesterday and water was up, so I was able to drop some of the weekend lbs that I gained. Hopefully, I will be able to get rid of the rest in the next day or 2 so that I can be back to where I was a week ago. That would set me up to lose some more before month's end.

Everyone have a great day!

I have updated the totals.

Wow! Lindamary123, you have exceeded your goal! Just think, you still have the rest of the month to lose a bit more.

Nappingbeauty, you still have made progress this month and sometimes our health just doesn't always cooperate. Hopefully, you are feeling better soon!:wizard:

Ron, you are amazing, I have seen in some other posts that you are really working hard to meet your goals. Very inspiring!

I haven't lost any more so I know I won't meet goal, but I am still trying to get a bit more off before the end of the month. Unfortunately, my food choices haven't been great, although for the most part my portions have been good so I think that is helping me to keep from gaining too much. Also, I am drinking at least 64 oz water, but it's time to bump that back up for some real weight loss. As for exercise, I am still doing poorly there, but I now have additional motivation. My DD21 is planning to marry in about 2 years, plus DH said we could do our 15th anniversary in WDW. Definitely some goals to work towards.

Everyone have a great week.

I lost 1/2 a lb this week. I'm actually happy for that as I was convinced I was going to gain. My eating was poor, and I couldn't exercise due to some knee problems.

The knee is feeling great for the first time in over a week so I'm looking to get started with the exercise again tonight.

I checked back through this thread and realized that I did not check in last week at all -- probably out of shame. ;) So I'll net my last Friday weigh-in with today's for a total of 1.2 lbs down. I am down another 1 lb, making 2.8 for the month. Not near what I had hoped for, but I learned alot this month and have become much more active, so maybe next month.

You guys are doing great! I figure that even if you lose a little, you are still losing. Sometimes the best that can happen is not to gain more, especially when times are hectic or you are faced with many celebrations at once.

We are down 28.3 lbs total as a team so far. Hopefully, more updates will come in over the next few days.

Check out the weight loss challenge for May!
