I have been reading other people's threads and thought it was good idea to start one of my own. I hope people will enjoy it.

Cast of characters:

ds:Liam is our very special boy. The great thing about him is that how social he is. He loves people and can easily make people smile just by talking to them. He loves anything Disney (Zach and Cody are his favorite), enjoys playing about every video game that he can get his hands on, and is absolutly crazy about anything to do with Star Wars. He will be 7 on Memorial Day. :mickeyjum

dd: Mia is 3 years old and is our little princess, or at least she likes to think so. She can be very shy at first, but when she opens up she can be a little sweatheart. She has a smile that can melt your heart but also has a stuburn streak that will fustrate me to no end. This girl has no fear. She climbed on of those tall medel slides (to my horror) when she was only 2. Last year at Six Flags Great America she went on her first rollercoster. She held up her hands the whole time and then asked to go again.princess:

ds: Aidan is the baby and will be two in June. He loves playing with his cars and about anything else his siblings are currently playing with. He loves attention and often has a fit when others are getting it. He has a strange habit of putting all of his stuffed animals noses in his mouth. I don't know why, but they all have wet noses. He's a joy but unfortunatly he is learningt all of his siblings bad habits. He also keeps stealing my Walt Disney World for Kids book every chance he gets.:rolleyes1

me: My name is Corrine and I am the mom. I love movies (I own over 200 DVD's and don't want to even tell you how many VHS's), reading, singing, acting, and about anything else that is creative. Strange fact about me is that I have been doing the local Ren Faire since '94 (took off last couple of years because of kids) and even made my own court costume.

Brother: Because I am a single mom my brother will be going with us. He is
a year younger than me and is great with the kids.

So now that you know a little bit about the cast of characters, let me tell you why we are here. A little over a year ago Liam started getting a cough that would not go away. It would not as bad sometimes but it would never really go away. His doctors kept telling me it might be allergies or asthma but nothing they did got rid of the cough. Finally fed up with being ignored I did some reserch on the computer and found Cystic Fibrosis. I got my intrest because I knew I was a carrier (found out when pregnant with Aidan) so I kept reading. The more I read the more things made sense. The fact that my 6 year old looked like he was barely 5, the abnormally large BM that stunk up the house, his large appitite even though he wasn't growing. I told the doctor of my suspicions and he basically told me I was wrong. I insisted on the tests and he gave them to me saying that they were a waste of medical resorces. To make a long story short, 4 months and many test later it turned out I was right. Liam had CF.

I went to a retreat for CF in February and MaW was there. They meet Liam and later asked if he had CF. I told them yes and they said that he could make a wish. That monday morning at work I went on the computer and refered him. I recieved a call later that same day. With in a week that talked to his doctor and he was excepted.

I recieved a phone call from Iris about two weeks later and she and Eric showed up at my house a couple weeks after that. They had a lot of paper work and alot of questions but they also brought presents. Liam got a game for his Nintendo DS. Mia got a princess purse with excessories, and Aidan got a Bob The Builder DVD. Not to mention fruit snakes and gummy bears. Yum!!!

When Iris asked Liam about his wish he excitedly sad "I want to go to Disney Land" and started jumping up and down. Iris than asked if he wanted to go to Disneyland or Disney World which is bigger. Upon hearing that it is bigger he changed his mind to Disney World.

It's been about a month since that meeting and I am very excited about starting my plans. I can't do that though until I get more info. I did check out the GKTW web site though upon Eric's suggestion. The place looks incredible and I couldn't image a better place to be during Liam's wish.

That's it for now. Will try to up date when I get more info. I'll put in pics when I figure that out. If any one could help there I would appriciate it. Thanks.

Something that made me laugh the other day and I wanted to share it. I found a sleeping beauty dress at Walmart for $15 and promptly bought it for my daughter to wear at least one day at Disney World. As soon as we got home she wanted to put it on. She than put on her princess shoes and grabed the purse that Iris gave her from MaW. She than came running to me with a big smile on her face and told me that she was ready to go.:tink:

She took it OK when I told her it was not time yet. She continued to wear the dress the rest of the day. I made her take it off for supper. We had spegetti.

I talked to Iris today. The paperwork is in and we know are just waiting for the doctors permision. He is pretty quick about such things but he might wait until Liam's next appointment which is the day before Easter. I also asked her about a character meal. She told me that she will look into it. It turns out that this the first wish that she has had for Disney World. So we are learning together.

I tried to post some pics of my kids but I can't until I have done 10 posts. This will be number 8. I'll have to sneak in a couple tomarrow so I can put in the picks. Until then,

Corrine

Your post jumped at me - I have a Liam too. So I'll be following your story as well. I also had an Aidan, but that quickly changed when she was born and we realized the radiologist couldn't tell what an umbilical cord was. :lmao:

Your kids are adorable! Looking forward to hearing you got your doc's permission.

:lmao: How cool that you both have a Liam...and too funny that the radiologist thought the umbilical cord...:rotfl: Ha ha.

Did you have her in a blue room or anything? Did she wear boy clothes the first few days of her life? That is too funny.

That is so funny. It's even funnier when I tell you this. When I was pregnant with Aidan I was sure it was a girl and even when the radiologist told me it was a boy I was positive that she was wrong and was looking at the umbilical cord. To my embarasment she was right.:rotfl2:

It is a small world after all (oh no the song has already started and I don't know when I'm even going):rolleyes1

OK, so I know that we are going to Disney world this summer but I must admite not knowing the details is killing me. I keep reading everyone's amazing wish trips or the trips that are just about to happen and I am so excited. I have already started planning for a trip that I don't even have dates for yet. What parks to see, how long to stay at each park, what attractions to see. I have gone shopping and bought the kids t-shirts at the Disney outlet in Gurnee Mills, I've bought them new swim suits, and new sunglasses. I have bought 5 books, been duing tons of research on the computer, been visiting a couple of forums (this one being the best) and even bought space bags to prevent from having to bring to much luggage on the trip. I have even made a list of things I need to bring with me. (If I don't write down that I need to bring my cell phone and charger I will forget the charger.) I think I am going insane. I hope to get more info soon but Iris says that it can take up to 60 days and it has only been about 25 so far.

OK, with all that out of my system I think I can take a breath.:upsidedow

Here's another pic of my wish kid:) This was taken last summer at Great America.

Corinne, another great pic of Liam! I know what you mean about lists. We are now less than three months out and with ADRs done and just last night, our touring plans done - lists are next. I have a box that I've started and anything that is not everyday use that I think of that we will need I just toss in the box.

The funny thing about that small world (and it's stuck in my head too) and experiences is that I was SURE I was having another boy. There are only two girls on both sides of my family this generation and none on my husband's, so I just figured - boys. The radiologist wouldn't let me see Meg (Aidan) on screen, only the printed picture after. Not sure why - maybe because he was aware that he didn't know what he was doing.:rotfl: Did I ever lose it when she arrived and the whole delivery staff yelled "It's a GIRL". I had told them all boy, and his name was Aidan, etc.

maroo, we opted not to find out gender the first time around, so everything was unisex. First room was baby yellow, and clothes were green and yellow. With the second we decided we wanted to know, but knew mistakes happen (obviously) and so just left it at the same infant clothes. Her room had been my office and was mustard, which she has lived with until last year when she insisted on pink and purple.

That was so funny. I found out that the first tech was right when I fell down the stairs and had to have an emergency ultrasound to make sure he was alright. We had enough surprises in the delivery room already. I had a c-section (second child born this way due to partial placenta previa) and my mom told me the first surprise was when they cut into my uterus and was welcomed by lots of fluid. (My mom says they had to step back because there was so much) The next surprise was when he came out. Now I am used to larger babies. Liam was born at 8lb 14oz, and Mia was a week early and born at 8lbs 4oz but no way was I prepared for a child that was 10lbs 15oz. My mom joked with me that I gave birth to a two month old. Lets just say that he never wore new born diapers or cloths.:rotfl:

I guess it's good that he wasn't a girl.;)

WOW!!! Big baby is right.

My Liam was 8lbs 5oz and a C-section, but Meg was only 6lbs 14oz, I think because I was still nursing Liam almost three months into my pregnancy with her - poor kid got nothing. She was kind of, um, surprising. Couldn't figure out why I was feeling so crappy for a month and was complaining about it to a friend who suggested maybe pg again. You'd have thought I'd know to go there, but I just was NOT in that frame of mind yet. Liam was only 7 months old. That would be the definition of an oops I guess, but a great oops!

I've read a fair number of Wish PTRs and GKKT sounds so fantastic! I seem drawn to them specifically. Our niece had a Disney Wish trip a couple of years ago. I can't wait to hear about when you get your dates and all of the wonderful things that happen between then and the trip to make it special for Liam, Mia and Aidan.

So great that your brother gets to go too. It's wonderful support to have. My brother lives in Boston, so a distance to us in Canada, but he's so great with the kids when they do get to see each other.

Oh, and I am also a big reader (although my time on the dis is drastically cutting into my reading time), and showed horses for years until it did my back in.

Can't wait for more details as they come.

I think I would have been in the same boat if I got pregnant so soon. Let's admite it, we are so out of it for the first year of a babys life (especially the first one) that we don't know are *** from a hole in the ground.:rotfl:

Me and my brother are a year and 18 days apart so I am sure my mom knows what you went through. She says that she didn't even know that she was pregnant until she nearly passed out on me.

I will definatly let you know when I find out when we are going. I am so excited. I am currently wearing tinker bell pjs. Now is that bad or what:tink:

Liam has a Dr. appointment with his CF dr on Saturday. He has been doing real well on his treatments so far. He hasn't had any real bad coughing attacks since Christmas Eve, so that is good. He has been gaining weight since he started enzymes. Was in the 14% at the start of treatment and was only 1/2 pound away from 25% at his last appointment 2 months ago.

I will get the results of throat swab they did at the last appointment. I am assuming that they didn't call me that it didn't culture up anything bad. His last culture came back positive for staff which is the most common bacteria for CFers. So hopefully he isn't positve for one of the bad ones. It is sad to think that I am hopefully for the staff bacteria. Most parents are hoping for clean tests but with CF he will rarely come back with a clean throat swap so I am praying for a bacteria that causes the least amont of problems.:)

I am also hopping that since he is doing so well that we can maybe cut back on his treatments if not now then hopefully by the time we do go on his trip. Right now he does an albuterol nebulizer treatment, a polmozyne nebulizer treatment, and his accapella therepy in the morning. (This all takes about a half an hour) He repeats the albuterol nebulizer treatment and the accapella in the evening. He also takes an antibiotic M,W,F and enzymes with every meal. (Taking between 3-4 each time) He is also taking a vitamin specially made for people with CF. It's bubblegum flavored.:thumbsup2 I am hoping since he is doing so well right now that we can do just the morning treatment. I guess I will find out on Saturday. :)

Hoping to talk to the Doc about the Wish trip. I am told that a lot of the time going to plan the trip is time spent waiting for the Dr approval. Maybe I can get this processes speeded up by talking to Dr Boas. He is positivily great and I am sure he will understand what I am tring to do.:dance3:

I will let you all know what happens after the appointment.

In the early 90's (I was in high school) I worked at a special camp that had a week long overnight camp for children with CF. I am amazed at how much has changed since then. Medicine has come a long way.

Our kids used to spend hours doing those clap therapy sessions, neb treatments (which back then took 15-30 min for each one) and used to take 20 and 30 pills with each meal. I was AMAZED at how many they would swallow at one time! It was crazy. Mouth full of pills all in one gulp.

But now they make those enzymes so concentrated that you don't have to take so many, which is great!

I am so glad your son is doing so well and I certainly hope they only grow "good" bacteria from his cultures!

thanks Maroo! I am definatly glad for the medical advancments for CF. It is no longer a death sentance but another daily hurtel you have to go through. I couldn't imagine Liam taking all those pills before he ate. It's hard enough sometimes making sure I have a small bottle with me incase we stop at McDonalds or BurgerKing. He's only been taking the pills for a couple of months but is already reminding me. "Mommy don't forget to give me my pills.":rotfl:

The accapella does pretty good for his lung therepy but I do do CP if he is having a coughing fit. The accapella (a green thing that he blows into. 3 sets of 15 breaths) only takes about 5 minutes. As long as he doesn't start joking around.

Bless his heart! We can't get William to remind us. And unfortunately, his medicine has to be taken 30 min before he eats, so if we miss it we have to wait. Or he does.

That accapella thing sounds really cool!! Lauren needs one of those things to increase her lung capacity. She is only at 50%. :(

GREAT NEWS!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Liam's Doctor has officially cleared him for his trip.:dance3::dance3:
:dance3:

Unfortunatly the days in July and August that I suggested were already booked up so that will be a no go. I just emailed Iris that any time in September would be good. Looking more at the second or third week so Liam can get a nice introduction into 1st grade. I didn't want him missing a week of school since we will probably miss lots more with Dr appts and illness but sometimes you need to put your families happiness above school. I am sure he will be able to make it up especially so close to the beginning.

So any way, I should have some real dates real soon. :woohoo::woohoo:

What is MNSSHP?

MNSSHP is the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is a very fun party. I have a pretty good review of it in my TR...and I have an index...I think it says MNSSHP? With pictures and some info.

You will be able to buy tickets to the party (about $55 per adult...$45 ish per child)...but you can get in MK at 4:00 and stay until midnight. So lots of people sleep in and stay late and it can be an extra "Disney" day without buying a full Disney park ticket ($75+). This is good for Wish Trips since you only get 3 Disney days. But not good for all families if you have really young kids that wont take a nap. Although, we saw LOTS of very young kids up very late that night. Awesome parade, fireworks, and candy everywhere and the best character interaction I have ever seen. Dancing with Chip and Dale for an hour. It was awesome!!!!

I will be there Sept 4 - Sept 13, but getting there late on the 4th and leaving early on the 13th. I am still working out the details of the trip, but I would imagine it would include a trip or two to GKTW to meet wish families! I really enjoyed meeting Jason, Mya and Noah when I was there in Feb! :)

I will look into that lung thing for Lauren!! :)

Liam's doctors appointment wen great!!!:banana::banana:

He has gained about a pound and a half since his last appointment and has grown .4 inches. Yeah!! He won't be wearing size 4T pants for much longer.

His culture came back positive for Staphyloccus aureus and MRSA. He had the first one last time so I have no worries there but with all that has been in the news MRSA has a kind of scary ring to it. My doctor tells me not to be worried so I am taking a breather. He's a great doctor so I will put my trust in him.:confused3

and to any one reading this today Happy Easter.:flower3:

Corinne - that's great news that Liam's doctor cleared him and even better that he had such a positive appointment yesterday!! :thumbsup2

September will be a good time, too as far as crowds go since kids will be back in school. The Theme Parks board has been flipping out about crowds over this past week (and I am a little stressed about how much worse they will be this June with the 4/3 promo on). By September, although there will be free dining, I still think you'll have much less trouble navigating around the people.

Starting Liam in grade one for a week or two before leaving will be good too, since he'll be able to get settled first. We missed our orientation day at a new school this past year due to a vacation, but I wasn't as worried since I enrolled them in camp there over the summer so they knew the lay of the land.

Hope you're having a very happy Easter and I look forward to hearing those confirmed dates.

If our trip gets accepted for September 13-19 we will be in Florida during my father's birthday on Sept. 14. So with the little lightbulb went off. (There wasn't to much smoke):rotfl2: I immediatly called my dad and told him my idea. He is a cross country trucker so if he could get to Orlando for his birthday he can take advantage of the Birthday promo and go to one of the parks with us.

Living in Missouri and being a trucker we don't get to see him much so it will be great if he is able to spend this day with us at Disney. If it works out then we will be definatly spending that first day at Hollywood Studio's. My son definatly wants to go on the Star Tours ride and that is a definate on both my brother's and Father's wish list as well.:thumbsup2

I am really hoping it works out.

Ok, so so for everyone who is about to read this let me appologize in advance.

I emailed my wish granter today to ask if she heard anything new about getting our dates confirmed. She told me that she had just tried to call them and had no new info yet. She reminded me (very sweetly) that it takes 2-3 months and she will let me know if she gets any new info.

I must admite that I am not a patient person. I try to be, but sometimes the attempts at patients falls short. Real short. I feel like I am in a self made limbo and it is driving me crazy.:headache:

Sorry about the rant. I feel a little better now.

So the only thing left is for MaW to book the plane tickets which Iris says will be in the next two weeks.:cool1::cool1:

So it looks as if we are going SEPT. 13-19. Planning full speed ahead. My first assignment is to book MNSSHP. I just have to choose between the two dates and than book it starting on Friday. :dance3::yay::woohoo:

I'm looking at this thread and relize that most of the posts are from me.:lmao: Ah well, I'm mainly doing this to remember this trip.:3dglasses

I forgot to mention that I made a calendar at work with a countdown to our trip. I made Tuesday what I have termed Disney Movie Fun Night. I admite that I haven't got as adventerous as some others I have read (maybe in the future) as of right now we are just watching the movie. But with a 6, 3, and 22 month old sometime just watching the movie is an event in itself.:lmao:

So we had two Movie days so far. Last week we saw Cars and two days ago we saw High School Musical 3 (Liam was dancing all over the place). Next week we are going to watch my personal favorite: Beauty and the Beast.

I also went to the Disney Outlet store last Sat.(I think I'm adicted). I purchased Lightning McQueen shoes for $6.99 and than an additional 40% off. I also bought pjs for Liam and Mia for $10 each, a Buzz Lightyear stuffed car for Aidan, and a Buzz Lightyear bouncy ball. I saw some dresses for $39.99 and than was 40% off. I am really tempted. Maybe when I get paid on Sat.princess:

Hi Corrine!

I don't know if you'll remember me or not, but I'm one of the Disney Store CM-s (short brown hair and glasses) who was working the last time you were there. I told Liam about the Star Wars vehicles he could sit on at DHS and have his picture taken. He was so adorable!

I'm so excited for Liam and your family! Come in to the store and keep us posted. We'd love to hear all about your plans and your trip when you get back!

Have a Magical Day!

Wow, Corrine your themed dinner looked amazing! I have great ideas to do something like that, but so far have not managed to get my butt in gear and organize it.

We are getting closer to our trip (just over 6 weeks) so I really need to start upping my game a little. I did tons of planning in the first weeks, and then became a slacker through April. I've got two boxes of "stuff" for the drive down as well as some packing essentials, but that's about as far as I got. I started a planning book for Liam (and so have to do one for his sister too), but have only done the first few days of the drive.

How are your plans coming now that you have dates? I know hours aren't out yet, but have you figured out what ADRs you want? Must see shows etc? Did you get MNSSHP booked?

Corrine 1973
05-06-2009, 04:28 PM
I still haven't got confirmations on the airline tickets yet, but I think I have an idea of a general iteniary for the week. I haven't booked the MNSSHP yet because I wasn't sure if I should go on Wednesday or Friday. I think I have decided on the Wednesday one because of crowds but have to wait until I am more finacial able to book the tickets. Just might wait until I recieve the money from MaW, or least make sure the trip isn't going to canceled at last minute because of weather or illness.:scared1:

I bought a Disney Party book at a rummage sale last weekend. There are ideas for several movies in there. Mostly plans for birthday parties so it shows food, craft prodgects, games, decorations, and party invitations. :yay:

I am starting to get an idea of the musts on my list but am tring to not get to ahead of myself. I do need something to do for the next 4 months.:lmao:

You will be in Disney at the same time as us. We are going to MNSSHP on the 15th. My husband is a huge Star Wars fan so guess what we will be dressed as.

On your Hollywood studios day don't forget to do the Jedi training camp. If Liam loves Star Wars as much as my kids he won't want to miss it.

We are just going to Disney as a family during free dining and staying on property from Sept. 12th -20th. We are paying for this on our own. We did not think Tyler's Wish would get approved when we booked this trip in January. His Wish trip is supposed to be around Thanksgiving, but I have not heard back from the Dream Factory other than to say he had been selected and to confirm that we still wanted to go in November.

We will make plans to meet when it gets closer! :wizard:

I must admite that I am a little jealous seeing people stays at GKTW overlap. I would love to meet some of these people that I feel that I am getting to know here. As of yet no one else is listed in September.:guilty:

OH well, at least we can get to meet at MNSSHP, and still hoping that I will be able to meet Maroo at the airport.

Emailed my wish granter and asked if there was any news. I also wanted to see if we can make the trip to Florida earlier in the morning so we can enjoy the day at GKTW and asked for the return trip to be mid to late afternoon so it wont be to hectic.

Three days to our next Disney Movie Fun Night. We're going to watch Finding Nemo. Unsure about the dinner yet. Maybe goldfish crackers and fish sticks.:rotfl2::rotfl:

OK, so I know it is actually supposed to be tomarrow night but I totally forgot I have a dinner lecture to attend tomarrow night. (Call it being a single mom, call it age, call it what ever you want I forgot:confused3)
Any way, it's for newly diagnosed parents of Cystic Fibrosis kids so I figured it was a good idea for me to show up. I swear that being at a nice steak resteraunt has nothing to do with it.:rolleyes1

To night feature was Maroo's favorite: FINDING NEMO

And some how on Saturday I found myself with only one child, so I took him to Six Flags Great America. Only stayed for an hour because only a few kiddy rides were open. Saw the Wiggles show (wish I had some pics, sorry).

Here's an idea for Cinderella night: Make orange jello in a bowl and unmold it onto a serving plate. Then make leaves, a stem and vines out of green fruit roll-ups to turn it into a pumpkin!
You can always sing Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo to see if it will turn into a coach! ;)

Have fun at Olive garden!

Yep - great names!!!!!

Your Nemo night looked great too Corrine. We've been doing family movie night for the past few weeks, but with only four more Saturday nights to go (and one is Liam's birthday) I think I'm going to have to steal some of these ideas and add dinner to the theme.

Your kids are sooooo cute. I truly feel for you dealing with special needs and being a single mom. Congrats on all of you hard work, it sounds like you are doing a fantastic job. I am the only caregiver for my dd. Noone in my family (including dh) will help out with her shots, sites, carbs and everything else we do. It is really hard to be the only caregiver and to have all of the responsibilities like you do, I couldn't imagine. :thumbsup2 Great Job and keep up the good work.

This last one is of Liam and Aidan on the Marvin the Martian helicopter ride. Ain't it cute.:flower3:

There is also a new ride called Buccanears Battle where boats go around shooting water at each other. There are also water guns around the edges where people walking by can shoot at the boats and visa versa. Liam loved this. I tried to get a pic but my camera's battery was dead. Ah well, maybe next time. We have season passes after all.:hippie:

Sorry this is not really WDW related, but I love pic and sharing them. Hope you enjoyed them to.

What time is it. . . It's time for another
DISNEY MOVIE FUN NIGHT!

I know what your thinking, I thought she was supposed to do it on Monday night this week. Well just say that things got a little crazy on Monday. I had to wait for over an hour for Mia's new perscription (for asthma) and by the time we got home it was to late to watch a movie. Plus I decided to change the movie schedual because Grammy has Mia for the week. That way I only took off an hour from work instead of the whole day. I couldn't very well watch her favorite movie with out her so we will see Cinderella next Tuesday.:yay:

This week was Hercules. Funny thing was that Blockbuster doesn't have it in stock unless I wanted to drive a half an hour to go get it. Luckily Hollywood video has it. :worship: We kept it pretty simple today. Hero subs, greek pasta salad, and potatoe chips. Liam started asking me if they were hero potatoe chips and hero milk. I told him that today they were.:rolleyes1

Sorry no pics, my battery was dead. Will definatly charge it tonight.

Me and the kids have a tradition. Every year around Memorial day (usually Sat) we go to Brookfield Zoo. It started when Liam turned 2, you see Liam's birthday falls around Memorial day so we go to celebrate his birthday. This year it just so happens that his birthday is on Memorial day. :goodvibes So any way, we decided to go to the zoo today.

Here is Liam with some pretty big legs behind him, what ever could the be from.

OMG, it's a dinosaur. Run for your lives.:scared1:
Just kidding, it's part of a exhibit called Dinosaur Alive. The boys loved it, Mia was a little scared but by the end was more comfortable.

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/brookfieldzoo006.jpg
Here's the T-rex. Some of the dino's move and roar. This one was perfectly still when we walked by it, but as soon as I snapped this pic it started roaring, moving it's head, and switching it's tail. Mia looked crossly at me and said, "Mommy you woke it up.":lovestruc

No, I don't work every day. I'm usually there on Saturdays from 11-4. Unfortunately, with the economy the way it is, people aren't shopping as much so the stores can't afford to have as many people working as many hours as usual. It will pick up a little in the summer though. The mall is in kind of a touristy area. I'm sorry I missed you! Did you have the kidlets with you?

Of course it was Hero Milk on Hercules night! How else would Herc have become so big and strong?! ;) Liam has got to be about the cutest thing around! Let us know how Cinderella Night goes!

Isn't that a scream? I guess it's not so bad when you consider the fact that the national bird was almost the turkey instead of the bald eagle! The state flower is the lady slipper which kind of makes up for the loon thing. Another plus is that loons make a really pretty sound. They're water birds and if you happen to be near a lake early in the morning you get to hear it. It's sort of low and musical.

had a bit of a scare today. Mia was complaining that her arm hurt last night, I was very worried about her but she fell asleep right away so I let her sleep. This morning I checked her and she was still saying that her arm hurt. She was holding her left arm to her side and would cry out when I put her coat on. I took her to the doctor and it turns out that she had what is called a Nursemaids elbow. It is a slight dislocation of the elbow, so the doctor popped it back into place and now she seems just fine. :yay:

Thank God that it wasn't broken.

I got the idea from a Disney Party book that I bought at a rummage sale for $2. That's also where the beauty and the beast dinner ideas came from. Unfortunatly no idea's for Pocahontas so I am doing an indian influenced dinner. Hope it comes out good.

Mia was so brave. She made a slight scream when the relocated it but after was just fine. She got a tinker bell sticker out of it but had to use her hurt arm to grab it. It took her a little, but she relized it didn't hurt anymore she was all smiles. She than got three disney princess stickers for being such a brave girl.

Great news. Tiffany called from the Make a Wish fondation and our trip dates are now totally confirmed. We are definatly going from Sept 13-19. A Limo will pick us up and take us the airport. Out flight will leave Chicago at 8:05 am. Our flight leaves Florida on Sunday at 3:14. :cool1::banana::love:

These times are great. We have to wake up pretty early on Sat morning (not like I'll get any sleep anyway) but we get to enjoy half the day at GKTW!! Than leaving in the afternoon will give us time to not rush to get to the airport. We might even sneek in a hour at the beach before we leave. The kids have never seen an ocean and I have only seen one once.:dance3::cheer2:

Today we saw Pocahontas. I was trying to think of something original for tonight and didn't want to just do a small version of Thanksgiving. So I looked on line for some Native American recipes. I found three that were relativly easy to make. I don't know how authentic they are.

We had Potatoe Puff, Cherokee Casserole, and Stuffed Corn Tortillas.

Pizza! You know, from Pizza Planet. And since the movie starts out with Andy's birthday party, maybe you could have cup cakes and everyone could have a candle and a wish. Perhaps a Little Green Alien Salad to round it out.

Your Native American meal sounded pretty good!

Wow, I've missed a lot in the past few weeks. May really flew by.

Hooray for confirmed dates! Love the continuation of the themed movie nights. We have not managed to get a dinner theme going but have watched several Disney movies in preparation for our trip; departing...two weeks tomorrow!!!

It looks like Liam's birthday was great. And I think our Liam's are about two days apart. Mine is around our Victoria Day which seems to coincide with your Memorial Day. Victoria Day fluctuates though as it is the Monday before May 25 so this year is was early - on the 18th. Normally it is closer to the 24th (Queen Victoria's birthday) and we more commonly refer to it as May two-four, or Maytoofer if you're really doing the hoser thing. There - Canadian trivia.

I'm glad Mia's elbow is ok. They are so sweet when they're being brave aren't they?

Toy Story is one I'm wanting to watch before we go. We have a renewed interest in it since Liam's birthday party was to go see "Up" and there was a teaser for Toy Story 3D at the beginning. I always wondered if there would be another.

Congratulations on the wish trip, i can't think of a better place to go :)

All 3 of your children are so cute, i can't believe Liam wasn't diagnosed with CF untill he was 5 (i think i worked that out right?)

I know, (actually i don't but im pretty sure my mum does) what you went through with doctor's telling you its just this or that when you are telling them he is not well. I have CF myself and was diagnosed at 9 months old after months off my mum telling doctors that something is very wrong with me. Like Liam i had a huge appietite (apparently was drinking way to much milk for my age) but wasn't really putting on alot of weight considering, always had a bad cough, popped belly etc but they kept telling her she was just being an over paranoid parent it being her first child etc unfortunately unlike in your case she had never heard of CF so had no idea that it could be that. Thankfully though one health vistor finally listened to her and she suspected it was CF and told my mum to take me to a special childresn hospital and demand to have me tested.

Hope Liam is keeping really well, i bet he is really looking forward to the trip. Look forward to reading more :)

He is doing great, Thankyou. He's been coughing a little more than usual the last couple of days, so I am keeping an ear out for that. If it gets any worse I'll give the doc a little call. Last night was another exciting
Disney Movie Fun Night
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Planned on doing more but things got a little crazy last night. I had to bring Three kids with me to the store to get milk, Walmart to get some thread, the pizza place, and the movie store to rent the movie. And wouldn't you know it Toy Story was out so we ended up renting Toy Story 2.:confused3

At this time I was tierd and the kids were getting whinny. I brought Aidan into the house and went to grab the rest of the stuff from the car. I unloaded my first trip into the house when Aidan decieded to use my distracted attention to his advantage and walked out the front door. I quickly followed and count him at the head of the car. He was laughing as I hoisted him up and headed for the door. Unfortunatly this is when things turned from bad to worse. I found a hole with my foot and fell down, with Aidan still in my arms, and landed on my right knee. My first thought was that Aidan was hurt, but he got up and stared running around the front yard.
Liam started yelling for help (such a sweet little boy) and I told him I was all right. I was too. Even though I turned my ankle it seems fine, and I just seemed to skin my right knee.

After all that are Disney Movie Fun Night became more of a eat pizza and watch a Disney Movie Night. Besides all the drama the kids seemed to like the movie and watched almost the whole thing before getting up and going to play with their toys. :cheer2::dance3:

I don't know what next weeks movie is, the list is at home, but I will let everyone know as soon as I get home.

Ooh! Ouch! :scared1: It doesn't sound like you were hurt too badly, but still no fun! I'm glad everyone still enjoyed the movie though.

It sure was fun having you and the kids stop in at the store on Saturday. The four of you were my Bright Spot that afternoon. :yay: Liam asked if he could meet R2D2 at WDW and I don't think so, but there may be one of those places where you can take a picture with a life sized cut out. I'll try to find out for you. We're going a couple of weeks before your trip and if I can't get the info before then, I'll check while we're there.

I mentioned the icky, sulfur-tasting Disney water to you. The web site where you can buy bottles with filters is pure water 2 go. Add the .com and take out the spaces and it should work. For some reason, DIS won't let me put in the whole link. There must be a rule against it or a trick I don't know. Not surprising. I'm still pretty new to this. I just hope I'm not doing something I shouldn't by sharing that here. :confused3

I've looked all over and these bottles are the most reasonably priced ones I could find. They seem expensive once you add shipping, but you'll only need one or two and even at that it will be a lot less costly than buying bottled water in the parks at $2.50 each! All the counter service restaurants at Disney will give you free cups of ice water if you ask, so you might want to order one of the sport bottles with the wider opening so the ice will fit through.

Can't wait to hear about next week's movie!

Friday is the baby's birthday, and since Mia's is only 3 1/2 weeks later we are having one party for all of them on Sat. Now I just have to figure out how to give Liam his Star Wars party, Mia her Princess party, and Aidan his Mickey Mouse party all in one.:scared1: It's going to be fun though, and to top it off I am going to Great America on Sun. I know you are all thinking, "hasn't she been there several times already?" Well yes I have, with kids. This Sunday I am going with other adults and are going to be kid free. Yeah!!!!:yay:

This last weekend was absolutly crazy!!!!!

It all started on Friday. My baby turned 2, he is no longer a baby any more.:sad1:

Than, you might remember my post a couple of days ago of twisting my ankle while holding Aidan, but come out of it with a slight skinned knee. I wasn't so lucky on Friday. I was at my mom's house and was holding Aidan as I walked down the front stairs to bring him to a neighbors house. Lets just say I missed a step and feel into Moms plants. At first I thought it was fine because I could walk on it with little pain. But by the time I got home it was swollen and I could barely walk.:sad2:

I did the kids party the next day, hobbling about, and everyone had fun. The kids loved their presents (sorry no pics, having probs with my camera battery) and ate lots of food. I paid for it later though, because my ankle was huge and quite bruised.:guilty:

Oh well, no adult day at Great America on Sunday.:confused3

Well that was my fun filled weekend, talk to you all tomarrow after we do are DMFN!!!!!:thumbsup2

Also, we will be there starting the 17th, so a little overlap. Glad to hear your family is getting this opportunity...look forward to following and hearing your plans.

aw!! Turning 2! Wow. Time does fly, doesn't it!

I am sorry about your ankle! Is it better?

Can't wait to hear about your Disney Night! :thumbsup2

It's doing better by it's still very swollen and has a huge rectangular bruise. (I know rectangle, crazy huh!)

Things got a little mixed up this week with DMFN. Mia was staying at her Grandma's for the weekend and when I called on Monday to confirm the fact that I would be picking her up after work on tuesday she informed me that they were going to the water park with Auntie Dana on Tuesday. That's right informed me, didn't ask. After explaining to her that this wasn't cool I let it slide, this time. But I couldn't do DMFN with out her so it was posponed till Wednesday.

So yesterday we watched
The Little Mermaid

We ate Flounder's Fruit Salad, Under-the-Sea-Biscuits, and Seaweed Slaw.

These last two pictures are of Mia wearing her brand new Little Mermaid outfit that mommy made for her. What can I say, seeing all those great big give outfits has put me in the sewing mood. She loves it, we also got a complement at the Disney store.:hippie:

Next weeks movie is
The Lion King

My first thought is to do a choclate pudding with crushed oreo cookie topping and lots of gummy worms. Yum!!!!!!:flower3:

As some of you know I unfortunatly just recieved news that my son didn't get approved for SSI. Don't worry about us though, we are fighting this and moving on with our lives. The hardest part was the fact that I was counting on the extra money to help with a character meal and tickets to MNSSHP. When I wrote about this in the Wish Trips United board I asked for prayers because I had just emailed my wish cordinator about my delema and was asking for help.

Well my prayers have been partly answered. The wish cordinator called me to let me know that she is bringing my questions to MaW. She seems very positive about the Character Meal but was unsure about the MNSSHP tickets but would do her best. Not there yet, but it's a great start so please keep those prayers coming.:wizard:

Aww Mia looks lovely in her little mermaid dress. The Disney nights look great fun, the lion king is one of my favourite Disney films :)

I have no idea what SSI is but sorry to hear Liam didn't get approved for it and fingerscrossed for the character meal and hopefully MNSSHP pixiedust:

Great News!:cheer2:

I recieved an email from the wish cordinator and she informed me that they have a system of how much money to get for each trip.

PLUS we will pay for 1 special activity in advance for the family. So Make-A-Wish can pay for 1 special activity of your choice - either Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or a Character Meal.

So this is great news, now I need some help. I hope to be able to save enough money for the other, but which should I chose. I am thinking of chosing MNSSHP because it is a little more money and only happens at certain times. But than I am scared that I wont be able to get a ADR when I have the money to offord it. Do you pay for the ADR when you make it or actually during the meal?

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

Paying out of pocket for a character meal, especially breakfast, will be a whole heck of a lot cheaper than MNSSHP, so go for the party! The only character meals that you have to pre pay for are the Princess ones. With two boys, I'm sure you'll be doing one with Mickey or Pooh anyway. Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom (Pooh) is the least expensive. The last time I booked a meal there, I didn't need to secure it with a credit card. You'll just pay after the meal like any other restaurant. It's $18.99 for adults and $10.99 for children 3-9 years, so Aiden eats from your plate for free.

I'm a little curious about why they'd want to pre pay for the character meal unless it was Cinderella's Royal Table. They're not any more expensive than any other table service restaurant. If they give you cash for meals, I'd go ahead and book it and pay for it out of that money. Again, if they give you cash, you might wind up with extra if you don't need all of what you're given in each category. For example, if it were my family, I don't think we'd wind up one checked bag for each of us. That's just too much to drag through the airport so we'd share suitcases. Would it be OK to spend that surplus on something else your kids wanted like breakfast with Pooh?

Hope this helps!

So yesterday was another excitiny
Disney Movie Fun Night

As you already know, yesterdays movie was
The Lion King
Things were really crazy so I didn't do anything real special for our dinner. I just stopped at Burger King and picked something up. But desert was another story. I made some instant choclate pudding, sprinkled on some crushed Oreo cookies (after scraping and eating the yummy centers:woohoo:), and than added in a dozen stratigically positioned gummy worms. It came out great and the kids just loved it. Sorry no pics, camera is on the fritz again. Hope I can get fixed soon.:scared:

Next weeks movie is:
Snow White

I will definatly have to do some apple dish, but other than that need to think some more on it.princess:

I know that I am still 2 1/2 months away from our trip, but now I have a few things planned I dedided to make a general itenerary of our trip. But as I have said before, things have a tendecy of changing.:rainbow:

OK, so here we go.

Our plan leaves at about 8am on Sunday, September 13. That means we will arrive in Florida at about 11:30. We are just planning on hanging out at GKTW that day.

Monday, September 14. First of all start out the day with a quick call to my dad and wish him a happy birthday. Unfortunatly he will not be able to join us.:sad1: Today we will be spending the day at Hollywood Studio's. Liam can't stop talking about the Star Tours ride. We are also going to the Jedi Training show. Really hoping that Liam gets picked. We have ressies for the Sci-Fi Dine-In at 1:20. I don't for see spending the whole day there, so we will probably be back at GKTW for dinner.

Tuesday, September 15. We are planning on spending the morning at Sea World. Planning on only doing a few key things there such as feeding the dolphins and maybe seeing the shamu show. We will than head back to GKTW, eat lunch, take a nap, and get our costumes on. Next stop, Mickey's Not So Scary Holloween Party.

Wednesday, September 16. We wil sleep in a little today (up real late the night before) and then head to Contemperary Resort for our Ressies for Chef Mickey's at 11:05 am. After we are done we are going to head back to Magic Kingdom. (I think for my kids ages that this is the park they will enjoy the most.)

Thursday, September 17. Today we plan to head off to Universal Studio's. I have to do more reserch to see what is good for the kids. But I forsee a lot of character meets and some playing in kid areas. We will back to GKTW early so we can celebrate Christmas at GKTW.

Friday, September 18. We are going to start the day at Animal kingdom hitting a few key things. The safari and Camp Mickey's are a must. We are than heading over to Epcot and heading to Norway. There we have ressies for the Princess Storybook Dinning at 1:30. We are than going to take a stroll around the pavillions (hope to do the Kim Possible thing) and end the day checking out Nemo and friends and seeing Crush. Would also like to see the aquarium. I don't know about Starship Earth. Kids might get bored but we will see when we get there.

Saturday, September 19. This will be our last day in Florida. Our flight leaves at about 3pm, so that gives us time to pack, hang at GKTW (do pillows and the star if we hadn't done it yet) and than head to the beach for a little bit.

So this is what I am planning as of right now. :dance3:

Hi there!!

You are so organized!! Your plans look awesome!!

If you have time, you may want to do your star before that last day...because the star fairy puts it up in the sky overnight and you can see it the next day actually up in the sky. And they let you take a cool picture of it. :woohoo:

Other than that...your plans sound AWESOME!!

Newbie here with a Snow White dinner idea. The seven little dwarfs make me think of little food. Maybe mini tacos, little smokies, other appetizer type foods would be fun.

I love the creativity of the Disney dinner and movie nights. I think I will steal this idea for my crew! They would love it.

We live in IL too. We are in Chicago, and are just starting the MaW process. I am a single mom to three children and may soon be adopting a fourth. Do you come to Chicago for Liam's care? We have specialists at three of the local children's hospitals. Maybe our paths will cross one day!

What a small word we live in, I just left a post on your PTR.

I LOVE the idea about your mini food. Things have been so crazy here that I haven't had much time to think about it. All my kids birthdays are on top of each other. Plus just figured out the MNSSHP and Character Ressies. Not to mention that I am doing the Bristol Reniassance Faire and it opens in two weeks.:scared1:

Feel free to steal an much as you want, imitation is the biggest form of flattery.

We actually go to a clinic in Glenview for Liam's CF. It is the only clinic in the state that isn't in a hospital. Though if Liam ever needs to be hospitalized it will be in either Alexian Brothers or Children's Hospital. I would love it for our paths to cross at sometime, but something tells me it will need to be planned.:grouphug:

We had: Mini Corn dogs, Chicken nuggets, Mozzerella Cheese Sticks, Macoroni and Cheese bites, and Potatoe Wedges. For dessert, apple sauce.:rolleyes1

The kids loved it. Aidan as usual hardly watched any of the movie, Mia watched the whole thing (asked me what was wrong with Snow whites voice), and Liam left about a half an hour in saying he didn't want to see a princess movie. Oh, well.:confused3

We have talked about MNSSHP (waited until it was confirmed) and have even watched Hallowishes on Youtube and looked at Boo to You Parade pictures on Mouse for Less, but have not talked about costumes. I am sure that Liam wants to be a pirate or a Jedi Knight. Should ask him tonight to get an idea for a costume.pirate:

great pre trip report!!

Since I lived in Round lake when my boys were young, WOW - small world!! So much seems to have changed at Brookfield zoo!! My boys would've loved the Dinosaurs! (my eldest is hard of hearing - loved Dinosaurs!)

How clever and special to have the Disney Movie nights!! You are sewing!! WOW!! Love the outfits I've seen on DisBoutique threads!! I bought some Tinkerbelle fabric at JoAnn Fabrics just because it was cute!! Hope I can learn to sew!

You are an inspiration!! I know a bit about CF - my bestest friend in School had CF - so glad so much has changed in 40 years!!

Looking forward to following you on your Disney Trip!

(Hollywood Studios - you must see Ariel and Under the Sea!! back behind that theatre is the Animation Studio, if you go in thru the store and wander back inside you can skip the movie on animation - which I doubt your kids would be entertained by - however, there are character meets in there! ) My dd is too old for Disney Playhouse - but I hear that is a fun show!! We love Beauty and the Beast Play - and of course Toy Story Mania is all that - but I cant imagine you doing this as a single MOM!! :thumbsup2

We had a Little Mermaid Movie Night a couple of weeks ago. The favorite of that dinner was the Flounder fruit salad. It was so easy. The main part was canned Pears (you need the halved pears). You cut out a section of the big side for the mouth and use it for the top fin. I sliced 1/4 length wise of another pear half and cut down the middle, but at an angle. The piece that angles out on both sides is the tail fin, and the other is the bottom fin. The eyes are mini marshmellows and raisins. And the strips are cream cheese with blue food coloring and was pipped on. Patt pears down with paper towels before you pipe on the cream cheese, it makes it a little easier.:flower3:

Big doin's at the Disney store! We have an extra 40% off of most clearance going on now! Look for the signs to tell what's what. If the kids need swimwear, this is the time to get it! Beach towels, even the big, thick ones are on sale for $5.99 and kids t shirts are all $2.99. Neither of those have the extra off. They're just on sale, but it's a great price. In fact, almost all of the summer stuff is either on sale or clearance. :woohoo:

Yesterday the family and I went to Great America because we haven't gone since I hurt my ankle and I had a free ticket that expires on July 5th. Me and the kids went with my Mom and had a great time with a couple of speed bumps.:confused3

First of all we got to Wiggles World and my mom took off to smoke a cigerate. Suddenly I turn around and Aidan was gone. So here I am in the middle of a crowded area tring to keep the to older ones together and find the youngest one. I couldn't get my mom to help and she forgot to bring her cell phone so I couldn't call her. I was just about to give up and ask for help when he showed up holding his tigger doll. :tigger:

I gave him a big hug:hug:when my daughter ran to me crying. A little boy had pushed her down and she had a small cut on the ball of her cheak. I quickly placed Aidan and Mia in the stroller and found Liam. We found my mom at the smoking area and made are walk to first aid.:worried:

Ok, I know I might have over reacted but I wanted to make sure that the cut got properly cleaned and didn't get infected.:flower3:

The rest of the day went well. My mom got me to sing for Great America Idol and a few people told me I have a good voice. Took a pic with Patunia Pig and Liam got one with the flash and Scooby Doo.

When we got home, the kids and I are where tierd but there was a big box on the table addressed to Liam.pixiedust:

It was from Walt Disney World Florist & Gift Baskets.:smickey:
Inside was a Mickey Mouse Autograph/Picture book, a Mickey Mouse Phot album, Mickey Ears, a Mickey Mouse Pen, a disposable camera, a bag of pretzels, and two bags of Shortbread cookies. It was all in a Mickey Mouse shapped basket.

Very sweet surprise, and great pics! That's a fun package to come home to. I am trying to figure out a time we can make itto Gurnee to check out the Desney outlet. After looking at my schedule again, I realized our VBS is the week after this one! I guess I will have to set my hopes of making it to Gurnee aside for awhile. I am writing the curriculum for the preschool and I need to finish it and meet with the preschool director. I am also leading up the snacks for the week, so I need to shop for all of them. (Which will be time consuming since we are accomodating many food allergies!) Then the supplies for the preschool portion need to be prepared. . . No, I don't know how there will be time to breath this week, much less get to the Disney store. Will you keep me informed of future sales? Thanks!

Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty! princess: Oooh! You could have those little pizza rolls and call them Princess Pillows! Perhaps that Kemps cotton candy flavored ice cream for dessert because it's pink and blue. Remember how Merryweather and Flora argue over whether Aurora's dress should be pink or blue? How about carrot sticks and pretend they're Prince Phillip's sword? Wow! This is an easy one! I kind of wish my daughter was still little enough that she'd enjoy doing the movie night and special dinner. She just turned 17 last month. *sigh*

Tell the kidlets hi for me!

We may be making it out to Gurnee tomorrow. Someone thinks they found our lost parakeet!! I hope it is her and that she comes to us. Apparently she has been visiting this woman's bird feeders everyday. Deyki had told me, "I bet she saw Key Lime Cove on TV and decided to go on vacation!" Wouldn't that be something if she really is in Gurnee?! We will be leaving our cage in her backyard and hoping for the best!

Going to Liam's final schedualed Dr appointment tomarrow before his wish trip so please keep us in your prayers. We are hoping for good lung functions and nothing bad in his sputum.:worried:

Also found out that the annual picnic for CF families that Liam's doctor holds every summer is planned for September 12. That is the day before we go on our wish trip. I can't help but think that this has all come together just the way that it was supposed to. I can't help but feel blessed.:cloud9:

Nah! Lots of people have had good ideas and so have you! This sort of thing just gets my Perpetual Child Peter Pan mind going. ;) You're welcome though!

Say, are you starting at the Renaissance Faire this weekend? My daughter's friend got hired for rides and games. I'm not sure we're going to go this year. It'd gotten so expensive and we're going to WDW in August so we're trying to save a little. I'll probably break down and go anyway though. I love me a Ren Faire!

I am sure that your daughter will get discount tickets ( don't know if she will get any comp tickets. I only got 3 and they will go to my mom and kids to go on the first sat of August.) I get discount tickets for $10 each.

Hope everything goes well at Liams appointment and he's sputum is fne. I just got results back from mine on tuesday and it was full of infection so im trying my best to clear it and on oral antibotics hopefully it all clears up ok in plenty of time for my holiday :)
What does Liams lung function normally run at if you don't mine me asking?

The annual picnic for CF families sounds fun, we don't do much like that over here for a few years because our clinics have gone crazy about cross over infection.

Liam's appointment went pretty good. He's got a little taller, gained some weight, and his lung functions are great. As for Liam's normal lung functions, this is all pretty new for it has been all over the place. When he was first diagnosed his FVC was 95 and his FEV1 was 101, really good scores. Unfortunatly he got a URI on Christmas eve and It went down to 66 and 63. It took a few months to go up, but as of april it was back to 109 and 102.

The doctor really likes these numbers, and his sputum has only come back positive for staff and MRSA so nothing to bad there, yet. (wont know todays for a couple days though). He isn't happy that Liam's coughing seems to have increased and has put him on a Antibiotic for 2 weeks. He also wants to see Liam one more time before our trip, so we are piggy backing an appointment to his sister's appointment (has asthma) in August. Thing that is kind of scaring me is that he is talking about admiting him into the hospital if we can't get the coughing more in control. What he calls a "Tune up". My son has never been hospitilized, and though I know it is bound to happen with CF, it's still scary to hear. Though a hospilization to fix something before it becomes problematic is better than an ER visit.:sad2:

Sorry to hear Liam LF dropped by that much but thats great he manged to get it right back up :)
Hope the antiboitics clear he's cough up, i don't know what the weathers like over there but here in the UK atm its all over the place it was crazy hot a couple of weeks ago and this usually makes alot of people with CF get a tight chest, coughing alot more etc, personally anyway my chest always plays up when the weather is hot & humid or really cold! It has cooled down a bit now though (which is kind of rubbish cause its meant to be summer :( )

I hope the hospital stay doesn't happen, but if it does try not to worry as you say it's bound to happen with CF sometimes and the sooner any problems with he's health are sorted the better. I don't really know how different the doctors are when it comes to CF over in the US and their ways for treating CF, but its quite common over here for people with CF to have hospital stays at least once a year just to make sure everythings as good as it should be and sort out any niggling prolems. I had hospital stays a couple of times a year when i was younger (about Liams age and younger) just so they could really concentrate on giving me all the treatments and regular pyhsio i may have needed, thankfully though my mum did alot of the treatments and home and i didn't need as many stays as others and I have now not been in hospital for 10 years, since i was 15 and had a portacath fitted.

Best wishes for Liam and hope he's cough calms down soon :)

They were actually quite easy to do. I took a hotdog bun and layed it on the plate open. I took round lunch meat (I used smoked turkey) folded it in half and than half again and put at bottom of bun. I took another piece of lunch meat and did it again and over layed on the first pice. I cut a piece of cheese into 4ths and used as the bodice. I put Mayo in a baggy and cut the corner to pip on to make the head and arms. I than used spary cheese for the hair. If you want to get real creative you can use Olive pieces for eyes and the mouth.

Thanks for the great comments, it makes me feel warm and gooyey inside.:cloud9:

Love the themed Disney nights. Just read about you guys over on the Big Give forum. Glad you are getting to go to WDW, and were picked for the Big Give by the Disboutiquers.

I have a Liam too. He is 12. His given name is also William, same as his Father, and his Father before him. There was no way I was going to have another Bill in the house, so I agreed to it, on the condition that we call him Liam.

I think it is so funny that Liam's keep popping up.:lmao: When people ask me how to spell Liam, I tell them that it is the last 4 letters of William, so it is funny that you use Liam as the short form of William.

Here I was tring to original with my children's names. I have talked to parents of at least a dozen Liam's, there are 2 other Mia's on the Wish trippers board (though one is spelled Mya and my daughter is actually Ameliya) and it turns out that Aidan was the most popular boy name in 2007.

I guess you can't always win.:confused3

I totally stole the following (in quotes) from another website, but here's some SuperHero ideas for your Incredibles Movie Night. Speaking of grand theft, I'm honestly shameless. I want to steal your idea of a weekly movie night leading up to the Wish Trip for my own family. I'm trying to think of a unique twist that I could put on it so I'm not completely plagarizing your amazing idea! So far, no original thoughts have come to mind, LOL!

Consider these fun superhero foods

How about a "superhero sandwich?" Let each guest build their own (super) hero sandwich... Keep it simple and put fun superhero labels on everything.

Power Bread
More Power Mustard
Red Energy Sauce (ketchup
Power Pickles
Total Energy Turkey
Super-Sauce Mayo
Mr. Incredible Celery
Elastiwoman Cheese Slices
Raw Energy Raisins
Power Packed Carrot Sticks

Ok, now I did think of this super-duper creative idea all by myself. How about PowerAde for the drinks?

I love the Disney Theme Night ideas too. I totally copied your idea and started doing ours a few weeks ago. My kids are loving it, and we are rediscovering Disney movies they haven't watched in awhile. It's definitely a great idea!

My children say that the Incredibles ate mashed potatoes, meat, and peas for their family dinner in the movie. I was trying to think of a stretchy food for Elasta girl.

We are doing Mickey Mouse videos tonight with Mickey Pancakes and Donald Duck punch.

So yesterday I decided to start packing the kids cloths for our trip to Missouri this weekend. We leave Wednesday night and I don't want to leave it to the last minute and forget something. It was than that I relized that I don't have nice outfits for the boys to wear for our family picture my dad wants to take, so it's off to Walmart I go. Nothing there so I head off to Khols.

Suddely I get a call from my boyfriend, "You need to get home right now!":confused3

Thinking the worse, such as Liam is coughing up blood, I ask, "Why? What's going on?":confused3

"Aidan got into the stain and poured it all over his head.":scared1::scared1:

Lets just say that the arm full of cloths in my hands went to the floor and I was in my car with in two minutes. Fortunatly it wasn't as bad as I feared. He didn't get any in his eyes or his mouth, and though there was some on his ear, it didn't go into the canal.:woohoo:

He cleaned up pretty well, his blond hair just has a slight red tint to it right now. I have to get it cut before we go anyway. (and yes, I had a long talk with the boyfriend about have dangerous stuff out that the kids could get into.)

So off I am back to the store, this time I am going to Burlington Coat factory and I had Aidan, just in case, to keep an eye on him. I was talking to my mom on the phone about what happened, got to the store, and walked into the store still talking on the phone. Suddenly I swore, hung up on my mom (sorry mom) and ran back to the car. I had totally forgot Aidan in the car.:scared1::scared1::scared1: It had been less than a minute but I couldn't help but feel like the worst Mom ever.:guilty::guilty::guilty:He was completly fine, and it was a very short time, but still I felt horrible that I did that.:sad2::sad2:

Nope. You do not win the prize for being worst mom ever. You remembered him and hurried back for him. The worst mom ever would not have thought of him until much later.

Seriously, what a stressful day that sounds like. I can just picture what I would have imagined if I got a phone call that my little one had pured stain on herself. I could see her doing it too! She is into everything right now - especially if it is off limits.

So did you find the clothes you were looking for?

I spoke with Tiffany from Make-A-Wish today about our trip, and I mentioned these boards. She said she had just talked to another mom in IL who about it. I guessed it may have been you, and she said I was right. She is one of Deyki's wish granters!

Hope the rest of your day is not nearly as eventful as the start of it!

I know it wasn't meant to be funny, but your post did make me chuckle a bit. Particularly the mental image of Aidan covered in stain. This will be something you all will laugh about one day, although it doesn't seem like it now!

I hope your trip to Missouri is amazing. I love our state (even if I jokingly call it Misery), but it looks like a wet week out where I am. Hopefully your week will have good weather.

I did find a couple of nice outfits for the boys. I also found a cute summer dress and a nice blue shirt for myself. I will hopefully be able to post a picture after we get the pics from the family shoot.

Aidan is the same way. He is into everything.:scared1:

I was wondering about Tiffany. She was the one I talked to when our plane reservations were confirmed. She seemed very nice, but I just talked to her on the phone.

I am sure you are right. Even now looking back, with him being OK, it does seem to be a bit on the humorous side.

I hope the weather will be good to. We have a breakfast on Sat morning at the campgrounds with my uncle. I am also unsure if the hotels swimming pool is in doors or out. But even if the weather sucks, at least I get to see my family. It's a big on to. My dad was one of 7 kids.

Cous Cous is a good mideastern dish that is insanely easy to make! When we ate at the Moroccan Pavilian (Morocco is where Aladdin is from) I noticed they used mint in a lot f their dishes. It was amazing. Taht could be fun if you want to go for more of an authentic feel.

Like I said cous cous is insanely easy. You literally boil the water, throw int he cous cous, and remove from heat, and cover. In 7 minutes it is done. It goes well with both savory and sweet so you can throw in just about anything. If you can, pull up a rug and eat on the floor for the more authentic feel.

Ooh! Cous cous is a great idea! I love it. You can get it as a boxed mix in different flavors kind of like Rice A Roni. If you mixed in some cooked chicken, you'd have a meal right there. A little melon on the side, perhaps?

How about a Flying Carpet sandwich? You could trim bread into rectangles and pipe on peanut butter, nutella (a chocolate and hazelnut spread that's right by the peanut butter in the store) and a couple of different colors of jelly to make a design. Use a plastic bag with the corner cut off like you did for the mayo for your Sleeping Beauty subs. The heat from your hand should soften the peanut butter enough to make it go through the cut corner. If it's still too thick, mix in a tiny bit of vegetable oil until it's just thin enough. I think you might have to stir up the jelly before you put it in a bag in order to make it work. Otherwise I think you'll be stuck with a big clump of jelly that won't pipe. Bananas could be sliced into "golden coins" to which you could add a few fruit snack "jewels" or jello cut into little squares and that could be the treasure. If I remember correctly, they drink a very sweet mint tea in that part of the world. That might be fun if you think the kids would like it. I'm having a hard time thinking of a way to represent the lamp that wouldn't take a ton of work. Maybe yellow cup cakes with a piece cut from a straw for a spout on one side and the bendy section of the straw for the handle on the other side? And a little piece of candy or a fruit snack for the little knob on the top? I dunno. Maybe that's a stretch. It might work though.

Y'know, I might do a Disney movie and meal night just for fun too. Who says you have to be little in order to enjoy it?

OK, so I have been gone a couple of days. Had a busy weekend in Missouri with the family. We all had a great time though I do admite there were a couple of speed bumps. Tell you all about it tomarrow. It is now 11 pm, I was in a car for over 10 hours with three kids. Let's just say I am tierd.

Corrine 1973
07-27-2009, 12:28 PM
So I am feeling much more relaxed now and wanted to share a bit of our Missouri trip. Please forgive me for being totally unrelated to anything Disney.

We started out trip at 11pm on Wednesday night. It was my idea to have the kids go to bed at the normal time and then just put them into the car in their pajama's. The thought was that they would go back to sleep and wake up toward the end of our trip.:lmao::lmao::lmao: Liam would sleep for about every half an hour, wake up and ask if we were almost there, Mia feel asleep but woke up an hour later saying that her kneck hurt (didn't relize the seat reclined) and Aidan kept singing and kicking the back of his sisters chair. They all finally fell asleep at about 4 am.:yay:

We got to Joplin at 8:30 and had breakfast with my dad than ended up spending a couple of hours at his house because the hotel wasn't ready yet. The kids all got a present from grandpa so they were good for a while. Liam got a Leather Motercycle jaket, Mia got a Donkey head on a stick, and Aidan got a stuffed elephant who's nose is already wet.

Finally we were able to check into are room to find that there was no refridgerator.:scared1::scared1::scared1: I specifically told them that I needed a refridgerator for my sons Medication that needed to be refringerated. It finally was resolved, but I was already unhappy with this hotel.

I won't bore you to much with the next couple of days. We basically hanged out at the hotel, went swimming at least once a day, went out to eat with my dad and brother, and got family pics at Walmart on Friday. They came out great and can't wait till my dad emails them to me so I can share them with all of you. Should be in about 2 weeks.

On Saturday Morning we all went to the RV park where my uncle Skip was staying and was hosting a breakfast with the family.

We finally found it on the windot sill but not before we found another little present. So it's time for another
Disney Movie Fun Night
Tonights Movie was
Aladdin
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/jasmine.jpg

Kept things kind of simple tonight
(Still tierd from our long trip)

So I made the recipe on the Couscous Box
Classic Mediterranean Garden Couscous

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/004-2.jpg

Wanted to try that inventive idea of yours Lorri,
but I must admite that I was wiped out.
Couscous was great though, ingrediants included chicken, broccoli,
fresh tomatoes, and feta cheese.

Next weeks movie is
The Haunted Mansion

I saw you had an update. My first thought was, "That's right! It's Tuesday! I wonder if she actually did a Disney Family Fun Night after that busy weekend?" Kudos to you for keeping up with the tradition even after a busy trip! :thumbsup2

Thanks!!!
The Couscous was a lot easier than I had thought. It only took about 20 minutes to finish everything. The kids really enjoyed it, and there is enough left over for lunch today. Yeah!!!!!:cool1:

I try to keep it up, but sometime things bump it back a day. Such as birthdays, Mia's grandma keeping he an extra day, or next week happens to be National Night Out next tuesday and the Park District is having free food. Who can pass up some free food.:rotfl2:

cous cous? Hmmm. . . . I may need to add that one to our list for Jasmine, the movie formerly known as Aladdin, Movie Night. What does it taste like? Any chance you know if it's gluten free (any wheat, rye, barley, or oat ingredients?) Bella has Celiac disease but we'd love to let her eat our themed meals if possible too!

OMG!!! to the rat :scared1: - I would have FREAKED!!

I'm eager to hear all about your recent shopping excursions! Did Wally World have any good stuff? BTW, I will take any credit that is due to me for fueling your shopping fire :rotfl::rotfl2: I figure if I'm going to get myself in trouble with shopping, I may as well drag as many people as I can down with me! :confused3 There is strength in numbers and I can just tell DH "Yes, because everyone else on the DIS boards jumped off a bridge I had no choice but to follow them down!" when confronted with the CC bill! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Unfortunately, couscous is wheat. Celiac sounds like a real challenge to deal with. I wish I knew middle eastern cooking well enough to offer you an alternative.

I will post some pics of purchases later. I did get two great picture frame projects, a princess crown project, and lots of stickers.

Is rice gluton? I am sure that the coucous could be substitutide with rice if that would be alright. Let me know and I will PM you the recipe on the box. One of the ingridents was cooking white wine, but I didn't add that.

As promised for Stefanilyn here is the pictures of the items I bought at Walmart and JoAnn fabrics.

These first two pics are some foam projects I found. The first one is for a princess crown, and the second one is for wallet sized pictures.

This next project is for photo cards. I thought it would be nice to decortate these and give them to people after our trip.

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/013-2.jpg

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/017.jpg

This last one is some plain white baseball hats and various things to decorate them. Thought the kids would like to customize them for WDW.

Rice is gluten free so that would be a great substitute for the cous cous. Celiac disease isn't too hard to deal with right now as Bella eats only pureed foods (we try to puree any meals we are having as long as they're gluten free). Once she starts eating table foods, I know it will be much more challenging as almost all convenience foods (like mac and cheese, spaghettios, etc) contain gluten. I will send you a PM for the recipe.

Why no wine in the couscous? :confused3 It could have made bedtime a breeze! :rotfl2:

I have just been overcome with craft envy! :rotfl2: Your finds are amazing and I am JEALOUS!!! Your JoAnns could kick my JoAnns butt any day - mine didn't have half of that stuff. :sad2: And though I'm leaving for a week in Seattle in less than 12 hours and should be finishing up my packing and then heading to bed, I suddenly feel an urge to peruse the craft section at Wal-Mart. :confused3 Look what you've done to me! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And speaking of a competetive nature, GAME ON GIRL! Oh yea, that's right. In our house, Disney Family Night has just hereby been renamed Disney Extravaganza Evening - Film Fun, Crafty Creations, and Dining Delights in Anticipation of Wish Tripping in December! Oh Boy, that's a lot to say in one sentence. Maybe I should stick with Disney Family Night :rotfl2: And then there's the acronymical (I think I just made up a word - someone call Webster!) issue: DEE-FFCC&DDinAofWTinD just doesn't have the same ring to it as DFN!

Thanks for sharing your craft ideas - they are great and I think they will enhance your DFMN.

The story starts innocently enough, and turned horribly wrong.

I had gone upstairs with Aidan to do some work on the computer. I figured that the other two kids would be fine playing in Mia's room for a half an hour. Boy was I wrong. Mia comes upstairs about twenty minutes later and I noticed that she had put on one of her play princess dresses.

"Look what Liam did," she proudly tells me.

I am in the middle of something so I glance at her and say,"How cute you look in. . ." It takes me a minute to register what I just saw. My daughter's beautiful curls looked like they had been cut by a weed wacker. "What did you do to your hair?" I asked freaking out.

"Liam cut my hair," she cheerfully replied without a care in the world.

At this point Liam walks into the room. From the look on his face he knows he just messed up. "What did you do," I asked in a less than calm voice?

"Her hair was getting to long," he replied, "she wanted me too."

What to do, what to do. At this momment I was in shock and didn't have a clue. First thing, I took Liam to his room, explained to him what he did wrong and informed him that there was no TV for the rest of the night and no Wii for the weekend.

Next I took Mia down stairs to acess the problem. Besides her bangs, there wasn't any where to short (to the scalp that is) so hopefully it could be salvaged. Now the problem was that I am broke until tomarrow and don't have money to take her to a place to get her hair cut and they have a doctors appointment at 10 in the morning. What else could go wrong?

Trying to calm down I try calling my mom and Mia's other Grandma. No one is answering their phones! Ahhhh! So I start cleaning up the curls left on the rug from the "barber" attempt. I must admite that I was close to tears.

Finally I decide that I had to go to my moms house. She could cut hair a bit and it was my best option. I told the kids to get their shoes on, packed them in the car, and headed off.

Luckily my mom did a great job. We were able to fix it, except the bangs, and hopefully it will grow out some more and look great for WDW.

Here is some pics.

So there is my story. Luckily it turned out all right in the end so I can look back now and laugh.:rotfl2: That doesn't mean that Liam is getting out of his punishment though, and since Mia let her big brother cut her hair she can't play the Wii this weekend as well.

WOW! You have waaaaaaaaaay more self control that I do. Kennedy and Bella have both done it, and each time I have been in tears and the girls have been on the verge of being put up for adoption. OK, well maybe that is being a little overdramatic, but KUDOS to you for keeping your cool about the situation! :worship: Where do you find your patience?!?!:confused3

Bella's self inflicted haircut occurred about 2 months ago. After surveying the damage, I sat Bella on the stoop and mowed the lawn just to keep myself from strangling the poor child! My neighbors must have thought I was nuts - bawling my eyes out, mowing the lawn, and my DD5 sitting on the stoop, also crying.

Mia's hair actually does look cute and not dramatically different than before. Liam may just have a future in cosmetology! :rotfl:

I love that you got pictures! I have done that a few times when my kids did something out of the ordinary. I find it helps me calm down to play photojournalist sometimes before deciding on discipline.

You should have just enough time before your trip for her bangs to grow out enough. Bet you never thought anything would make you wish the trip doesn't come too SOON. I guess you will watch the calander and her hair now as you count down.

I am impressed at how calm you stayed. Good job, mom!

Thanks for your comments!

I had to bring my camera with me because I knew that this would be one of those stories I told later in life. Now I have the pictures to bring out when I tell the story at their high school prom.:rotfl2:

You guys might be giving me a little more kudos than I deserve. I think my first comments to Liam were," Get in your room, your grounded." Looking back, I wasn't screaming but you darn well knew I was mad. It was only after Liam started crying in his room and saying that no one loved him that I had the little talk with him about what he did wrong. I knew he didn't do it to be mean, he just wasn't thinking. "Of course I Love you, I will always love you," I said sitting next to him, "I am just very angry with you right now.":guilty:

Looking back I do admit that I kept my cool, God knows I wanted to scream and let someone else deal with it. I am the mom though, and after working with Adults with developmental disabilities for over 10 years I guess you get to learn a little patience.:flower3:

Must of us can relate to your story. It was just a few months ago I walked into the house to find hair at the backdoor. I walked in and all my husband said you need to talk to your boys. I walked into their room and noticed they had cut each others hair and it was beyone repair. They look alittle funny for several weeks. Trust me I did not laugh at first but now I we have a chuckle about it especially when we read stories like this.

Thanks wkualum, I think they are pretty cute myself. As long as I keep the scissors out of their hands.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just wanted to let everyone know that Liam and Mia's doctor appointment went real well. Liam gained a pound in a month:woohoo:and grew about another 1/2 and inch.

Mia's breathing test came back a little low but the doctor is not to concerned since it was the first time she has done it and there is a learning curve.

Medication for both remains the same and our next appointment will not be until November. So barring any complications, we are officially cleared for our WDW trip. :woohoo::woohoo:(hopefully I just didn't jinx it.:scared1:)

WooHoo!!! Always good to hear good news!!

I baked the potatoe in the microwave, scooped out the centers, mashed it in a bowl, added pizza sauce (recipe asked for salsa but thought the kids would like pizza sauce better) and mozzerella cheese. I than cooked it in the microwave for another couple of minutes and added a little more cheese on top.

Before you start reading this, I want to warn you that I had to write this to get out of my system. I know most of you understand where I am coming from.

I was talking to a friend today about going to Liam's school tomarrow to register him. I had made mention that I wanted to meet his teacher and the school nurse so that I could touch base with them. I also wanted to inform the teacher about our trip to WDW and than made mention that I would talk to her about involving the class in a possible small good bye party.:thumbsup2

It was then when she looked at me perplexed and asked why?:confused3A good bye party for a vacation.

Now we had talked about Liam's Wish Trip several times in the last month. She has been one of the friends that I have been keeping updated with things happening with Liam. Her grandson is Liam's age, was born premature, and has had some health issues so out everyone at work I thought she would understand.:guilty:

I simply replied to her that it was a Wish Trip and I thought his class would be excited to share in some of the Magic.pixiedust:Hopefully the teacher is more receptive than she was.:confused3

The second thing that has bugging me is the way my daughter's grandma has been acting. She is a very strong oppinionated person so I try to take what she says with a grain of salt, but it is really starting to get to me.

First of all she tried to stear Liam into chosing DisneyLand, and since she found out he chose WDW she has had little good to say about. It's hot, there are tons of bugs, bad traffic, and you can see everything at WDW in one day.:scared1:

Now before everyone starts freaking about the last one, she has only been there once and it was about 30 years ago. I remind her that WDW has changed alot and now there are 4 parks instead of just 1 but she is not convinced. She keeps tring to push me to bush gardens and the Water park at SeaWorld. Why, because Mia would like it. I try to thank her for her advice and remind her that while everyone will have a great time that the trip is Liam's Wish trip, not to mention that I am not driving to Busch Gardens when I have free tickets where I am. When I told her that I would try to get Busch Gardens in during our next WDW trip in hopefully two years. My thought is to try to do a trip every two years. He reply was why would I want to go back to somewhere I have already been.

I have tried to be patient but every time we talk she tries to tell me what to do and it is driving me up the wall. It is getting to the point that I don't want to share details with our trip with her, but than feel quilty even thinking that.

I don't know, maybe she is jealous that we aren't taking her. But if I did I know she would end up in a wheelchair by the first day(bad hip) and would try to steer the trip into what Mia wants to do.

God grant me sanity!!!!

I get where you're coming from . . . honest. Don't let their comments bother you - take a step back, count to 10, and picture yourself in WDW, blissfully enjoying Liam's Wish Trip. Ahhhhhhhhh . . . . relaxing, isnt' it?

Maybe G-Ma is miffed that she wasn't invited but it sounds like you made the right choice there. It wouldn't be fair to Liam to be slowed down on his Wish Trip by another guest. Although some grandparents do go with Wish Families, I think it's generally to have an extra set of hands to help out with the kids - not another person that may require extra assistance.

As for your friend, I think she probably just doesn't understand what it's like to be in our "club." And to her, Liam probably just seems like any other healthy looking kid headed to WDW for a family vacation. I think many people have a hard time comprehending the seriousness of a child's medical condition when they show no obvious outward signs. I can't tell you how many people have expressed shock when they discover how sick Bella is because she looks like a typical preschooler. I think Liam, and all Wish Kids, deserve a good send off party. You should definitely mention it to Liam's teacher.

Please feel free to vent to us. As you have stated most of us have been down that road. So I know where you are coming from. I had someone say to me it must be nice to get a free vacation and go to Disney. I was trying to keep my cool and said if you only understand what you just said to me and if you only understood what my child and my family have been through for the last 18 months.

I think your school ideal is great. At the last day of school last year we had just found out Lucas' wish was granted. His school had the MAW volunteer come to an assembly and make the announcment. All of the children were truly excited for Lucas. Even kids that did not know him but remember that day would come up to him in the summer and said have you went yet? Even a little girl that we did not know had won a prize that day and gave it to Lucas to celebrate his day. So the school and the students were so supportive of him. So it was a joy to share it with his school. So I think it is a great ideal!!! I had read on the boards of someone else doing this but we are going to find something very inexpensive to bring back to share with this class from WDW. So they can be a part of his celebration! So party on!!!!

Please always feel to vent with us. Take Care.

Liam is officially registered for school!!!:woohoo:

It went pretty well. We were approved for the fee waiver and the free lunch program so those are definatly both weights off my shoulders. Now I just have to figure out when to do back to school shopping.:scared1:

His first day of school is the 27th, but there is a open house one the 23rd so I thought it was a good day for him to see his school and meet his teacher. It will also be a good time to talk to her about the wish trip and the party.:thumbsup2

Just a little advice for those who need to still need to register their kids. Don't bring their newly turned 2 year old brothers or if you do but them in a stroller.:rolleyes1

Had to add this as an after thought. No time for DMFN tonight with registering Liam for school (took almost an hour) so we are doing it tomarrow night. Until then, Aloha!!!!

What day is it today?
Why it's another
Disney Movie Fun Night
Tonights movie is
Lilo and Stich
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/LiloEtStich.jpg

Unfortunatly we had a couple of hurtles to overcome this evenings DMFN.
First of all, the oven broke down
so no creative food made by moms own hand
No big huge deal
We decided that Hawaiin Pizza would fit the bill
Here is where we hit another road block
I put the pizza on the top of the car when I put the kids in their car seats
Well. . .:scared1:
I am pretty sure you can guess the rest
I drove back hoping to find it intact
No luck
It was on the side of the street opened and smashed
I called my boyfriend crying and he showed up with a Hawaiin Pizza to the rescue:worship:http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/004-5.jpg

We decided to make leis. The kids made them all by themselves and are very proud of them. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/006-5.jpghttp://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/007-2.jpg

Next weeks movie is
Peter Pan
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/Corrine1973/Peter-Pan-4.jpg

Hopefully it is a little less chaotic than tonights.:rotfl2:

Woo Hoo! Lilo and Stitch is one of my all time favorites! Great idea for the pizza - quick and easy (well, sort of, lol) I'm glad DBF came through with a replacement pizza speedy quick for you. The leis (and the kiddos wearing them) are a cute idea! Well done Mom! :thumbsup2

Thanks StefaniLyn. They were so easy to make too! I remember making them with some of the consumers at work so I rembered how we did it. Best thing is with the plastic needles that the kids (liam and Mia) could do them all by themselves. I only had to set them up, cut the straws, and dismantle the flowers.

I was worried about the same thing. We usually just get cheese and sausage on our pizzas. But I just put them in front of them and they ate them up. We bought this one at Pizza Hut and it had tomato sauce, some pizza places have it with barbaque sauce instead.:hippie:

Thankyou everyone for your birthday wishes, it really made my day.:goodvibes

Just had to let everyone know something cool that happened to me today. I decided to take the kids to Six Flags Great America today to celebrate my birthday.(Have season passes so it was free) We had some tickets to be in the parade so we got to sit in a trolley and feel special for a half an hour. We than had a personal meet and greet with the characters. That would have been a lot better if the kids weren't tierd and just wanted to go home. (It was already past 9pm)

The thing that I wanted to tell everyone is there is a giant pool of water in front of the iconic double decker carousel there. People regularly throw money in it and make wishes. I used to work there, so I know for a fact that this money is gathered up at certain times to be donated to certain charities. Today I noticed a sign next to the water and a familiar sign caught my eye. All the money that was being thrown in the water was being donated to Give Kids the World.

I was so excited that I took a picture (will add it tomarrow, to tierd tonight) and went to guest relations to personaly thank them for the donations and tell them a little about the charity that unfortunalty they knew only a little about. I think I made their days with my kind words.

As we left the park, I gave each of the kids a quarter (and myself as well) and we threw them in the water. Our wish. . .well as you know I can't tell you, but I think you might already have guessed.:cloud9:

I can't explain, but that brought tears to my eyes...

Sadly, before MAW came into the picture, I had never even heard of GKTW. So now I'm kind of on a mission to tell everyone about this incredible place!

Glad you had a great birthday!

Since our dates are so close together I feel like I am sharing this with you. I have read so many TR's but I do not think I have completely grasp the magic that is awaiting us. One day closer.
