I see all the people in the US posting the great deals they get and am wondering if I am doing something wrong or if my prices seem right. I know flying out of Toronto raises the price a great deal but even flying out of Buffalo I still think I am paying more than others.
August 22-September 1
If they offer free dining through west jet like last year my 10 day package from TO for 2 adults with 9 day hoppers at ASMu is $2900 Canadians Funds.
If I book through Disney and use their flights out of Buffalo 10 days as ASMu 9 day hoppers with free dining at ASMu $2300 US Funds so with exchange 27-2800.

Were the deals you saw the 4/3 offer? If so, it's a great offer, but probably will not be offered during free dining.
Without flights, your dates for Disney at ASMu would be $1540 in a standard room, inclusing 10-day hopper.
Now, if you price a different date that offers the 4/3 deal, the price without flights would have been $1126. However, as of today, that offer is no longer available, had to be booked by Mar 29th and I'm not sure if they will extend the booking date or not.

You should have a look at upgrading that ticket to a 10 day ticket, hopper, No expiry. That gives you three more days at a cost of about $99USD per ticket, as compared to $262USD for 3 days, really good savings.

We are paying $1900 (us funds) from Aug 22- Aug 30th for 2 adults and 2 kids (considered adults also). We have 5 nights at CSR and free dining and 3 nights at GF room only and a 1 day base ticket for each of us. If we don't get a good deal out of Buffalo we will fly AC on points.

We are paying:
$2750 Cdn for 5 airfares DIRECT from Halifax to Orlando. (Canjet)
$910 Cdn for 4 - 7 Day Disney Base Tickets (Disney Store) - will probably upgrade to 10 day when we're there)
$2215 US for 11 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge from May 2-13th
I was originally booked with 4/3 but cancelled and re-booked when the rooms only deal came out. Much cheaper to get tickets through Disney Store and pay Cdn $$, and the room rates were slightly cheaper to get it for $179/night than it was to pay for 8 and get 3 free. And of course you HAD to buy your tickets through them for the 4/3 deal.
So we upgraded from CBR to AKL when the room only rates came out.

We're driving so can't comment on flights, but we have 8 nights for a family of four at CBR with DDP, park hopper, all taxes and fees in, through CAA for approximately $3000 CDN. We booked on 4/3 originally for 7 nights $2740 then added a day on so I'm not sure exactly where it ended up since we had already paid a deposit but 3K sounds about right. I was happy that they were quoting in Cdn funds though since the xchange has changed so much.

Flying NWA out of Detroit, 5 of us for $1500, direct, non-stop. We paid of rthe tickets in June, when the dollar was at $1.02, so that was a HUGE savings!
4 of us, 8 days at CBR, Pirate room, dining plan, park hopper tickets for 7 days. $3020.

I have 10 days booked at CBR during free dining. I am paying $2840 US for CBR with preferred room, tickets with hopper.
I did find a flight for the 3 of us with Westjet for $1000 CDN out of Pearson but have not booked that yet.

2 Adults @ ASMu, 10 day hopper plus, free dining, flights from Pearson $2800.
I think I paid a few dollars more than I should have but with the exchange rate I didn't want to risk it. When I called WDW today the cost was 1800.US and then the cheapest flight I could find was through west jet for $412.00 So I just booked a package through west-jet.

7 nights at the Poly (garden view room) + dining + tickets (6 day base) = $3563.12 USD. We used our 40% PIN to get this rate.
Hoping to get a good deal for flights out of Buffalo, or we'll use points out of YYZ.

We are six adults ( 4 kids in late teens) staying in a 2bedroom at SSR on the 4/3 deal for US $4200.00 Our flights from Halifax to Tampa and Orlando back to Hfx direct were $500.00 each so $3000.00CDN.
Add in $408.00 for van rental and $1500.00 for food and restaurants and miscellaneous and our total is
$9100.00:scared1::scared1:
The only good thing about this is that while the dollar was over par I managed to sock away about $9000.00 so this trip is " an on par "trip!:woohoo:

Our last trip was the cheapest per day trip we have done yet. I can't remember the exact cost of everything but here it is, roughly.
Family of 4...2 adults, 1 18yo, 1 9yo
Drive roundtrip from GTA to Orlando: $625
food: $915
14 nights at POP, preferred room: $1632 (CAA discounted rate)
5 day premium park tickets: $720 (discounted through a convention we attended)
spending money: $300
Total: $4192 US (exchange rate at the time was 1.06)
Back in 2005 we spent $4000 on an 8 night trip. I've learned a lot since then. It has become a challenge to me to make each trip less expensive than the last.

We booked a bounce back last August that I just revised today with the newly released free dining.
2 Adults 2 kids (16,14) August 18th - Sept 1st - 14 nights at Pop Century, 10 day tickets with water parks and more, Regular dining plan for all 14 days. $2,732 US. Deposit made last August for $200 at par so $2,500 left to pay.
Would have been about $2150 just for the food from Disney.
Air will very likely be Southwest on a Tuesday for about $800 return to Manchester.
Another $500 to cover trip from PEI to Manchester and back.
Can't wait!

The three of us are going Aug 22-27 (five nights), with free dining. I bought our plane tickets a couple of months ago for $230cdn each, flying out of Buffalo. I booked with Airtran down and Delta back (for times and price). We are staying a AMSU and only bought one day park tickets (total = $694us). DS and I have days left on our non expiry tickets. My mom will be using my ticket, her ticket and her free birthday ticket. So our total, with exchange, is $1560cdn, approx.

DH and I (Southern Manitobans) are leaving this Sat., driving to Fargo to fly Allegiant. Stay one night in Sanford, Fl so we can rent our car outside the airport in the morning. Drive to the Clarion Hotel by Universal, stay for 6 nights. Drop off car at the airport, still get the cheap off-airport site rate.
Airfare: $350 US (we checked the site daily)
Hotel Sanford: $60 US
Rental Car 7 days: $170 US
Universal Unlimited Pass: $200 US booked online
Clarion: $350 US using Kayak.com
Total cost: $1130 US (plus food, and serious shopping)
Absolutely NO GUILT for this cheap vacation that gets us out of this snow storm!
Also, cool thing I found today: On Universal's site they have a referral deal. Use a friend's email address to send you an email about the on-line ticket offer, get a $10 blockbuster gift card. I sent 2 emails to both my and my DH. We'll buy our tickets separately, and we'll get 2 gift cards ($20) Use it to buy a DVD down there.

Hi everyone! We just booked an unexpected trip for 4 of us in May (oldest DD19 will already be there with her best friend). We already have park passes, so here's how much it's costing in US $ (we are flying SW from Buffalo):
airfare: $140 each x 2 (my 2 DD14s are paying their own) = $280
resort: POP x 3 nts tax included = 230
food: = 400
misc (gas,insurance,airport parking) best guess = 150
GRAND TOTAL = 1,060
We love being there in the spring so much that when we saw SW airfares for $59 each way during the week in May that our oldest DD will already be there we just couldn't stop ourselves! Couple that with the great room only discount available ($68 std value) and that adds up to the most spontaneous trip that we have ever taken! Flower and Garden Festival here we come!:yay::woohoo::love:
