my dd steph has gone missing, we think she is in Manchester with her ex partner who as you know has beaten her up badly in the past, she has Charlie with her, we havent seen her since yesterday when she walked out saying she was going to town..
the police have been here and now they are looking for her, i feel so sick with worry. her new house is ready for her to move into on wednesday.
i feel so helpless

yes she reported the incidents, she came here with a horrendous black eye last november. she couldnt go through with the charges as she didnt want to face him in court. her mobile is on voicemail :sad1:

They found her 3am this morning with him at his mums house. social services are getting involved now. I really fear for her, its only a matter of time until he starts hitting her again and then i really do think he will hurt the baby as he has not given a toss about him and has pinned him down in his cot by his arms before now because he was crying. the police know all of this as well.

I just can't believe whats happened, she said she was going into town on saturday and never came home. all her and Charlies belongings are here, she hasnt taken any clothes,bottles nothing at all.
i just feel so helpless, he will now be working on her again turning her against us , he's so evil, a manipulative brainwasher.

had to come and see what was happening, thank god you know where they are, shame it had to be there! so sorry you are going through this, i would be out of my mind if it was my daughter. i know its not much help right now, but as mothers we know the incredible love and need to protect we have for our children, and maybe with this in mind Steph will realise she needs to protect Charlie, her mother instinct will kick in. she left before and she can do it again.

I now work with people in your daughters situation, but having been in a similar situation to your daughter (a long time ago now) with a very young baby all i can say is i cut my family off because of him, but when i knew i had to get out I called my mum and she came and got me.
We have had our ups and downs over the years as you might expect, but i still remember making that phone call home after 2 years and being "rescued".

On average it takes a woman 33 times of being assaulted by her partner before she gets the police involved.
All you can do is just be there to pick up the pieces - one day she will be really grateful, as hard as it is you may just have to be patient.

Things usually work themselves out in the end - most especially if the family support is there - even if it is hidden well away in the back of her mind she will know you are there for her and when she finds the strength she will come to you.

been back on to manc police and s worker-they say both are safe and well and not that worried as paternal grandparents are there. they are not taking this lightly and are doing a thorough investigation. if she isnt back tomorrow then i have no choice but to fight for custody of Charlie

Does she know you're considering custody of Charlie? If not maybe that will knock some sense into her, if you tell her to come back today or you'll start procedings as you fear for his safety? You know your daughter, will that make her come back?

I know it's not ideal, but safety comes before loyalty when it comes to your kids.

Is she not answering when you ring her? Might be better to talk to her instead of texting?
