If you book a room using a PIN or other offer, can you add DDP?

I know you have to have a package to get DDP. If you use a PIN or other room discount, can you add tickets and still buy the DDP? Or are PINs and discounts room-only?

We booked a package with the 40% off room rate PIN.
We got 40% off the room and paid full price for tickets and dining.
*just an fyi..you can add the dining plan but you cannot get Free Dining even if your package is booked during the free dining dates.*

I knew you couldn't get free dining if you used a PIN. I'm trying to run #'s to see what works out best, but didn't know if you could pay for a dining plan if you have a discounted room. Not that I have a PIN... just trying to prepare for all possibilities! :yay:
