I've not seen the film, but I've read the book. I finished reading it one day and I cried my eyes out at the end.... I was quite thankful I was home alone tbh!! I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed!! I love dogs and reading the book has just made me want one more!

My eldest DD went to see this with her friends last week ~ they all sobbed their hearts out and the first thing DD did when she got home was cuddle our two dogs.

A word of warning kieras nana, it is quite an upsetting story in places..... And quite grown up in a lot of ways too... I don't know how they've adapted it in the film, but from the book alone I wouldn't really say it's a story for kids.... Just a friendly heads up! I know I certainly couldn't have coped with it as a kid!

We went to see it a couple of weeks ago. Even DH had a tear in his eye at the end of the film.

Its a funny but sad film, I knew the ending before seeing it as the guy who wrote the book was on the Dog Whisperer

I went to see it last week, and like many people I've had pets that I've loved and lost - TBH, I didn't think the film was that great. Easily skipped IMHO!
I didn't cry at all, I felt there was emotion missing from the actors, or something:confused3

I had to look at the ceiling through the sad part or else I knew I would have been bawling my eyes out! The film was good though, I enjoyed it and it made me laugh too.

Mum and I got through so many tissues in that film - I haven't cried that much since Dr Green died in ER!!!!

We used to look after a lab v similar to Marley and a lot of the funny parts reminded me of her!!

Book is well worth a read too :thumbsup2
