If we are wanting to get hair braided on the boat where and when do we make a reservation?
I'm curious about this also. When we cruised a year and a half ago, they didn't braid on board. Is this something you can book in advance (that 60 day thing), or something you can do with your concierge when you board?
If not, what are the secrets to getting an appointment! I know someone on this board can help...you guys always know the little ins and outs! :smooth:

The braiding will be done by the goofy pool on sea days (I was on the 7-day eastern last month). It 'll be in your navigator. I can't recall the exact length of time they were there, but I think it started at 10am. Unfortunately, you can't make appointments ahead time, it's first come, first served but they do put your name on a list so you don't have to stand in line for hours or anything. I was lucky to walk up and get a cancellation at that very moment (luckily I had my girls with me because she said she could do right at that very moment!).

Thinking I could get my girls hair braided on the ship, (Wonder), we didn't get it done in Nassau because of the downpour and didn't want to waste precious Castaway Cay time, so the Day at Sea, when I called Guest Services, they informed me it was not done on the ship, so we came home with no braids. :(

They only braid on the Magic right now as far as I know (but having never sailed the Wonder, I can't guarantee that). Don't know if that will change in the future.
With that being said, as of 5/11 here's how it worked.
You go to the Goofy Pool Sunday morning at 9:00 and they are 1) braiding on a first come first served basis, and 2) taking appointments for later in the day/week. We booked for the first sea day at 4:00 (first available other than during Key West time) and we were in line by 9:05. Take your kids navigators with you when you book, because I mistakenly booked it during the Flubber making time! DD said she wanted her hair braided more than she wanted to make Flubber, but she really wanted to do both! Bad mommy!
Also, it helps if you know exactely what you want when you book. The options are 1) Headband style, beads at the top 2) Headband style, beads at the bottom, 3) normal braids. They only have certain people who can do the headband style, so those appointments seemed to be more limited.

Unfortunately they do not offer the braids on the Wonder. Nassau is a crazy place to wait, I got mine done at Castaway Cay and didn't mind the wait, the big tip is to go there as soon as you get off the ship. You should be able to get right in. If you want cornrows the price is $2 per braid, regular braids is $1 per braid just so you know. Be prepared to spend the money, I had just the front of my head done in cornrows and it cost $54 dollars so be prepared and on Castaway you CAN charge it to your room so you don't have to worry about carrying cash.
