Does anyone have the thread for this? I remember seeing it somewhere but I have no idea how to search.

Thank you so much! That is a great link.

I would go to the allearsnet.com website and check the menus though since there are some inaccuracies in the list.

For example:
21 GF Narcoossee's $36.84

The surf and truf lobster/steak combo is $58 and steamed lobster is $59
Both are definitely allowed on the DDP.

Oh wow. That is definitely a big difference. Thanks for the tip!

This is in another post, but...while you get more "value" by ordering the most expensive thing on the menu at the most expensive places...you are potentially setting yourself up for a larger tip (which is not included in the DDP) which seems wasteful if you really did just want to eat the burger and not the lobster.

Actually as I think about it, Narcoossee is a signature restaurant so it takes 2 credits rather than one... that may account for the difference in the chart.

It's also true that the more you spend the higher you will wind up tipping... I figure that goes with the territory and come prepared. :thumbsup2

Oh okay. Well the 2 credits makes a big difference to me. I dont think I will eat at any of the places that take 2 credits except for maybe the dinner shows. It's good to remember that there will be higher tipping, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker for me.

Order the most expensive thing on the menu. If your not spending 25+ at a table service your loosing out. For a family of 5 our bill was running 115 dollars, good thing we had DDP.

As for tip. Who made these rules that you have to leave a 18% tip. I will only leave 18% if they were 100% awesome. I am so sick of servers dropping off plates and never coming back and still want an 18% tip.

I definitely hear you about the 2 credit signatures. :thumbsup2

Last year we upgraded the free dining for the deluxe so that we could try them... with all the credits it made it easy to do... we are doing it again this year!

But I totally agree that it would be hard on the regular dining to use 2 credits for one meal:scared1:... especially when you have so many wonderful choices for only 1 credit :goodvibes

I completely agree. I don't leave that high of a tip unless the service is wonderful. But we might get into sticky territory on this topic!

I thought about doing that, but I wonder how much better the two credit restaurants are? What do you think? Which ones did you absolutely love? I think I would be willing to go to a two credit restaurant and pay out of pocket some time. Did you feel like you were spending all of your time eating instead of being in the parks? Me and DH were talking about doing the Deluxe Dining Plan during free dining -- it would only be $300, but we are skeptical on how much time we would lose in the parks during our semi-short trip (5 days). It will only be our second time going to Disneyworld and although we love it and for sure want to go back, we want to make sure we get to do all the attractions that we want to before we concentrate as much on the food.

We haven't done them all but loved Flying Fish, Narcoossee and California Grill. :lovestruc I'm hoping this trip to try some of the signatures that we missed last time.. Yachtsman & Artist Point in particular. Brown Derby is also one of our favorites but definitely NOT worth 2 credits! :scared1: We eat there when we are not on any dining plan.

As far as time is concerned, it's definitely a trade off and you will spend more of your time "dining" on the deluxe. The signatures are by and large only open in the evening, so we plan a sit down in each park each day for lunch and a siggie for dinner.

If you really are into commando style park visits, it isn't the way to go, I wouldn't think. We prefer a more leisurely pace, though, so if we are there for rope drop, stopping for a nice lunch is relaxing. :) Then back to the room for a nap and swim, then fine dining in the evning. :goodvibes

Doesn't work for everyone, I know. The fact that it's just DD (22) and myself with no kids to worry about makes a huge difference.
