Hello ~
I spend most of my time on the Disneyland board, this evening I booked our 1st trip to WDW for 9/30-10/8!! We're staying at All Star Movies ~ might switch to Pop.
I'm super excited about free dining! I'm looking for suggested restaurants, CS & TS for my family. My DS will be 9, my DD 6, my mom will be coming with us! Her B~day is 10/7!
We'll want a meal with the princesses, perhaps Gma & DS will dine elsewhere while DD & I dine with the girls. What other places will we enjoy?
I don't plan to visit a park on a day when it has EMHs ~ should we plan on eating dinner after the park we visit has closed for the day? I think we'll try for late breakfasts.
I'm very comfortable with DLR ~ WDW seems really daunting, wish me luck!

The two princess meals at WDW are at Cinderella's Castle and Akershus in Norway (World Showcase, Epcot). Cindy's is 2 TS meals, so you may not want to do that, unless DD really wants to eat in the castle. Akershus is 1 TS. Both have princesses, but it seems to me that Akershus tends to be more "strictly princesses." Usually Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel (with legs)...Belle is typically the greeter and the meal includes a photo package. We've never had a bad experience there. I would do breakfast or lunch. The castle sometimes has the fairy godmother, snow white, cinderella etc...If you're going for the wow factor, do the castle!
Other suggestions:
For character meals:
Chef Mickey's has the classic characters and is a lot of fun.
Donald's Safari breakfast at AK is possibly the biggest buffet in WDW, the food is excellent, the service is great and it's a lot of fun too. Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Goofy are there.
(I'm going to mention Crystal Palace here because I love it, even though my kids aren't huge Pooh fans. Excellent breakfast, beautiful building. In MK. Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet)
Non-character:
Sci-fi Dine In at DHS is a fun place for the kids - looks like an old drive-in movie theatre. Good burgers and shakes.
The Plaza at MK is a great place for lunch or a light dinner. They have great sandwiches and AWESOME desserts - the size of your head! The kids will love it.
Ohana's at the Polynesian resort is fun. Most of the meal is served family style, but waiters bring around a variety of meats (pork, shrimp, sirloin, turkey) on skewers to put on your plate. It's a cool place.
Coral Reef at Epcot is a neat place to try once (we personally didn't have a good experience) since you get to dine watching the fish in the Living Seas.
For CS:
MK: Pecos Bills or Columbia Harbor House
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons or any of the World Showcase CS locations
HS: um...there's not a lot here, we usually end up at Pizza Planet, which is just okay.
AK: Flame Tree BBQ
Sorry for the rambling post! I hope that helps a little bit!
