If the older kids miss our Dinner ADR can they just get a CS meal instead?
Or if they want to just do their own thing... Can they get a CS meal...
They are in their 20's...:goodvibes
I thought I read you cannot use a TS credit for a CS meal.
Just checking...
Sounds stupid if they can't. What would Disney's reasoning be?
They would be making more money, right?
I considered doing the QDP but the thought of 2 CS meals a day is scary to me.:scared:
We are all in one room so we can't do different plans.
We also have 3 under 10... So the Dining plan is a must...

I thought I read you cannot use a TS credit for a CS meal. Typically, you cannot. Occasionally (i.e., during Free Dining) Disney allows you to 'trade' a TS for a couple of CS or something, in an attempt to alleviate pressure on TS restaurants who are at capacity for those periods. But in 'normal' times, they do not allow the switch.
Just checking...
Sounds stupid if they can't. What would Disney's reasoning be? Accounting. For each TS credit they have a set amount that is 'paid' to the restaurant for that meal. Likewise for each CS credit. They don't want to or simply can't 'pay' a CS restaurant the value of one of your TS credits.

My advice would be, if the 20somethings are likely to go off on their own and miss dinner ADRs, plan accordingly and book them some late ADRs in the same park/area as your earlier one (or at your resort if available) so they can eat later than the rest of you on their TS credits? Maybe say, tonight we are booked together but tomorrow night y'all are booked for dinner later on your own...?

Typically during the free dining period Disney has allowed an exchange. One year it was 1 TS=1 CS plus a trading lanyard and two pins, then last year it was 1 TS=1 CS and 2 snacks or a little mesh tote bag. This is only because of the shortage of TS ADRs during that time.
During times free dining is not being offered, there have been reports of some resort food courts allowing a straight one for one switch, but a manager usually has to be called in to approve it. There has never been a report of a park CS allowing it however. The problem is the CS restaurants' registers are not set up to accept a TS credit, plus Disney allows each restaurant so much for a TS credit and so much for a CS credit.
