Free Dining vs. already booked Dining Plan

I just found out that free dining is going to be offered when we will be at WDW. So what does that mean if 6 out of our party of 8 booked using a Disney Visa card and 2 did not?:headache: Other than cost, what do you get during free dining vs. dining plan? :confused3

If the 2 non visa persons have their own separate reservation then they would be out of luck for free dining until this coming Monday when it opens up to the general public. The rest who booked using a disney visa card are ok except you need to call to have them apply the free dining promotion to your ressies - they will not do it automatically. If you booked the regular dining plan before then it is the same as the free dining - no difference. If you booked the deluxe dining plan before then you would pay for the upgrade from the basic dining plan you get with free dining.

I have booked for 9/22-9/29 and have the fast serve dining...will they upgrade me to the sit down meal for free????? Oh yah I dont have the visa so will have to wait for Monday either way.... Is there a special code to ask for or is it a known fact when you call Disney ressies?

Yes - you will be able to get the regular dining plan for free which is 1 snack, 1 counter service, 1 table service per day per person. You will not need a special code to get the free dining when it opens up to the general public. You just have to call & replace your current dining option with the free dining option. Good luck!
