Chicago/Indiana FA 2009 Participants

I am checking in for my CP on May 27th and I am hoping to drive down to make it easier to get my things there and so that I will have a car in Florida. Unfortunately, I do not want to drive the 17 and a half hours from my home in NW Indiana down to Orlando. I live an hour outside of downtown Chicago and if anyone else is checking in that day and wants to drive down but is not bringing a car let me know. It will make it much easier to get your things down to Orlando if nothing else.

I'm from NW Indiana too(Hobart)... where are you from? I live in Orlando now. I've made the drive 3 times, myself... Twice down, and once back. It's not a bad drive...long, but really therapeutic. I can give you the easiest route, if you'd like advice. :) Btw, what's your role?

I live in Crown Point and am also driving down. I check in August 12th. Which role are you in. I'm in quick service. I hoped for character attendant or merchandising. But I'm happy just to be accepted. Which apartment are you hoping for?

I have family in Crown Point...

I'm doing the summer alumni program this year in QSF...even though I've been out of school for over 2 years...haha...that's a plus to the alumni program! Anyhow, during my cp, I lived in a 2 bedroom at Chatham. It worked out really well. I would definitely recommend that, although it all depends on your roommates--love 'em or hate 'em! :)

I am also checking in on August 12th, and I go to Valparaiso University! My role is Attractions. It's nice to see others on here from the Region.

So amazing to see so many people from the Region! Truly... I've been working at Universal for the past several months because Disney wasn't hiring and was amazed that someone in my orientation class was from Hobart too! How bizarre...out of probably 60 people, no one else was even from Indiana.

Anyhow, I'm in my last 2 weeks with Universal and will start back at Disney next month. If you guys have any questions or concerns, please ask... even once you're settled. I'll be more than happy to help. You're going to love it!

Hey! I see that you worked on Kilimanjaro Safaris! My role is Attractions, and I am hoping for The Great Movie Ride, Jungle Cruise, Kilimanjaro Safaris, or something else like that. Did you have an audition, request a role like that, or were you just lucky?

Hi all! I'm glad to see so many Hoosiers going! I'm from the Benton County area, which is only 30 minutes north of Purdue University. I did my college program in the spring of 2007 in attractions.

I'm actually from Chesterton so not too far from Crown Point and Hobart. I don't mind the drive so much it is just that I really don't want to drive 18 hours alone. Plus then it costs me twice as much as flying. Oh well, at least I will have the car once I get to Florida.
