My DW has been on a drive for us to spend our gift cards received at Christmas and on our birthdays so we aren't in the same boat as Outback gift card holders. You folks in Edmonton, where the 3 reaming Canadian Outback locations are, might want to think about redeeming your gift cards ASAP.

Outback Steakhouse Canada is looking for ways to honour active gift cards as conveniently as possible for its customers and suggests checking its website next week for details.

Not surprising. I went to an Outback years ago when they first opened and found it to be overpriced for what was served. Never went back.
Now if The Keg was to close...then tears would be shed.

Does not surprise me. The one closet to me was never busy and the food and service was never very good.

I totally agree, the place was not good, bad service, lousy food and way too expensive for what it was. I don't mind paying big bucks for a great meal but I hate when I go to one of these chain type places and then spend what I could have in a fine dining restaurant only to have a kid in the back zapping prepackaged food. I suspect Outback wont be the last. We have not been to Montanas or Caseys in a long time either...

No tears here either. Went there once when it first opened, was one of the worst dining experiences ever! The food didn't live up to the insane prices and the service was horrible. Surprised they stayed open as long as they did.
ETA: Nice to see they are at least honoring their gift cards at Jack Astor's, Canyon Creek and Alice Fazooli's.

No tears here... the salt overload in their food was disgusting!

We tried them two times. The first time was about 3 months after they opened, it was not very good, staff or food. The steak was seasoned to death but we figured it must have been a bad night and tried them again. Same thing a couple of months later, I figured for the money I'll just keep going to the Keg. The one in Whitby seemed busy and just thought it wasn't our cup of tea, no big deal.
Someone else said something about the other restaurants. Montana's, Kelsey's, Casey's and East Side Mario's(they call that Italian food?). I agree with that view, their pre-packaged TV dinners have long ago lost my business and I believe some of them will also follow Outback. Quality is so middle of the road and so far from fresh it will hurt them. Their steaks have this weird texture to them, can't put my finger on it but they are not worth the money they charge just because they are tecnically steak .
Sorry for those that liked them, it would be the same for me if the Keg closed and that would suck.
