We've received an invitation from P&O to go and look round one of their ships in the next couple of months. Has anyone ever done this before? I'd like to go and have a nosey round but if it's just going to be hard-sell then I won't be taking them up on their offer.

ITS NOT A HARD SELL, i'VE VISITED ALL THE p&o SHIPS whoops - sorry caps lock! :rotfl2:
no, its well worthwhile doing even if you aren't particularly interested in a cruise holiday, Is it Azura you're going to see?

Thanks everyone, you've convinced us to go!! :goodvibes
We have to pay £20 each and I was a bit worried I would be paying them to give me the hard sell!! :lmao:

We were offered a few dates in April and May but could only go on two of them as I now work in a school so can only go at the weekend. When DH phoned they were already fully booked so we're now going on the Oceana one Saturday in July. It's at Southampton so only just up the road from us. :thumbsup2

DH's work colleague went on an Ocean Village cruise last year and arranged for a brochure to be sent to us. Perhaps that is where they got DH's name and address from? :confused3

Has anyone been on a p & o cruise? I am thinking of a cruise on their new ship as it has single berth cabins on it.

cruised on all of them except Artemis and the new one, Azura, they are great for a formal - to semi formal cruise and the southampton departure is great, once you get used to that you won't want to do airports again. Personally I like the P&O ships, they aren't quite as circusy as ncl and rcl, and not as stuffy as cunard and fred olsens, but cruisings a very personal thing, it takes a while before you know which ship type really suits you.

Hi! We went last year on the Aurora - it was a really lovely day out, and by no means a hard sell. You checked in, and then had an hour or so tour of the boat, and then had a lovely 3 course lunch. We really enjoyed it, and they don't really talk about selling you the cruise at all. :)

Just updating to say we went on our visit to the Oceana yesterday.

We had a great time ~ there were approx 100 visitors and we toured in groups of 10. It was very nice being able to look round then we finished off with lunch in one of the restaurants. I had been expecting a buffet so it was very nice to be served a 3 course lunch.

There was absolutely no selling involved ~ the only mention was in the literature they gave us which offered a complimentary upgrade and a refund of the cost of the visit if a cruise was booked by a certain date.

If anyone is ever offered the chance to do this then say yes:yay: it really was enjoyable ~ I will jump at it if we ever get the chance again.

Now I have to try and contain my excitement whilst waiting for my Disney cruise ........ 5 months tomorrow!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
