The last two years I have flown from Boston to PBI to go to VB. This year I have tickets to fly to MLB (Melbourne). Has anyone done this?

How far is the drive from Orlando to Vero?

It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Not a bad drive. We did it last year. Have a good trip!

DH and I had problems with our rental car driving from Vero to Orlando and stopped at the Melbourne airport to switch cars. Airport is small, but the good news is that it is not crazy like Orlando can be. We switched cars and were back on our way in less than 15 minutes. I would think flying in and out of there would be less stressful.

I have done it both ways. Orlando to Vero is about 1 1/2 hrs. drive, which is not bad. The airport at Melbourne, however, is much closer and very much smaller, making for a much nicer arrival! Then you are about 45 minutes (if I remember right) to the resort. Getting a rental car there was so easy, also. When I go to VB again, I will fly into Melbourne.

Thanks for all your replies.

I feel better, Candace, knowing that your experience was a positive one and that you would do it again.

Melbourne is a great little very underserviced Airport. You can get in and out very quick.Close to 95,A1A,US1 to head down to VB and 95, 192 to Kissimmee,Orlando

The drive from Melbourne to Vero beach along A!A is a very nice drive. We like to leave that way instead of hopping on I95 right away. Melbourne to Cocoa could be missed, there's traffic and traffic lights. We usually drive to Cocoa and by the ships before hopping on I95 but next time I think we'll catch I95 at Melbourne.
Enjoy.
