After reading through 44 pages of CB whining, pot stirring, YAGEing, and so on about the new rule changes, I just wanted to say, "Thank you!"

Thank you for real. I can't tell you how nice it is that, while our community has far more to potentially lose with this new set of guidelines, everyone here has been far more mature about the discussion of the issue. I appreciate all of you more than you could possibly know. :grouphug:

Our whining thread is shorter cuz there are fewer of us. That's all.

I just read through the first 26 pages (just for fun) and all I got out of it was a :headache:. There is so much whining and much of it is the same people over and over and over and over...

As far as the person who asked that this forum be shut down....
I don't see anything political or religious about someone's sexuality. The problem, imho, is the people that try to inject politics and/or religion into it.

Will you please tell me what YAGE means? I've never been able to figure it out.

it is not the fact that sexuality is religious or political, it's that many of the fights we as a community have to endure are political and religious in nature. IE adopting kids, marriage, etc

but I've already said my peace on the issue. I'm just pointing out the issue with the rule and this board

Very, very true. We're not the ones that create the religious/political issues, but somehow we manage to be stuck with them! I hate religion AND politics, hth did I end up here? :rotfl:

and this forum didn't have too much in the way of political/religious conversation to begin with-from what I've seen.

Thank you! LOL! Whoda' thunk.

We don't need to discuss politics and religion because we live with the miserable effects of it every day. :confused3

I do like going to sites that deal with the political and religious issues involved with "living gay", though. I want to know about issues that affect our community so that I can get involved, even if it's just signing a petition or making a donation. I'd miss a lot of news if I didn't go to those sites because the MSM really doesn't pay that much attention. Sure, they talk about Prop 8, but we had a murder trial go on down here in Florida recently that was buried on page 10 of the paper and didn't make the local TV news at all. :sad2:

PeterPan09, I'm going to PM with a link to a local organization that sends updates on a lot of that local stuff. It's helped me stay in touch somewhat.

I think this board has not gone in the direction it was supposed to. I thought the GLBT board here on the DIS was supposed to be about planning - but it has turned into mostly a GLBT community board. Not that I have any problem with that, and if I did - big deal;)...

I'm not a fan of the 100's of political threads that were on the CB, but I also feel this board, and definitely the CB will slow down as well.

Just my 2cents - well these days that's worth about 1 cent!
