Hi Everyone,
Well i am back at long last on the Dis-boy have i missed this .
Last Friday evening i was dis-ing when a crackling noise started coming from the laptop, then a burning smell, then sparks from the connection at the back :scared1:.So on the Sun a trip was had to PCWorld and to cut a long story short, the connection had burnt out, they wanted £229 to fix it :scared1:.So we decided on Wednesday to buy a new laptop for £300 from there(we was going to get a new one when we returned from Florida anyway).
It had to be charged for 24 hrs before we could use it,so Thursday evening Hubby turnt it on to get it going, only to find a nice scratch on the screen :sad2:.So back to PCWorld Saturday, charged again for 24hrs and here i am-all set and ready to go looking to see what i have missed over the last 10days :thumbsup2.
As for the sad news,i had to have aother one of my beloved cats 'Smudge' put to sleep on Tuesday afternoon :sad2:.
She was fine,no problems then last Monday she never ate her dinner-or her breakfast on Tuesday morning,i checked on her about 8am+found her struggling to breathe. So we went straight to the vets for 9am+they took us straight in,they kept her in to do blood+urine tests, which came back clear. And an xray which showed fluid on her lungs, which they drained. But she took a terrible turn for the worse and i was phoned to go down there to see her for myself and decide what to do.It took me about an hour, and by this time,Smudge was in an oxygen tent :sad2: they had done another x-ray and her heart had enlarged considerably+she was filling with more fluid again. The vet believed she would'nt make it thru the night,so instead of Smudge dying by herself,i made the heartbreaking decision of Euthanasia(again:sad2:)and she died in my arms  :sad1:.
I have had her cremated, just like La-La her son in my siggy, and will hopefully be collecting her on Wednesday.
So i have just the 2 left now,Sam the daddy+Max the son
Smudge had a good life with us,she was dumped in a cardboard box outside the pet shop my Nan+Grandad owned, and she was so scared and thin, she would have been 16ish years next month,as we belive she was between 6-12 months when she was dumped+apart from Tuesday, she had only ever been to the vets twice before-to be spayed+for a water infection. That's why it was all such a shock,as she has never had anything wrong with her :sad2:.
Well it's great to be back, although a shame for the sad news,i hope you have all been well yourselves :thumbsup2.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.

It was also lovely to talk to you as well,it was so annoying that i could'nt contact you,Kerry or David as your numbers were on the computer as i had'nt wrote them down in my address book. Thanks for posting a note on my pre-trippie,i just saw it .
I had a wondeful Mothers Day,although not as relaxed as i was hoping for.We spent most of the time in the gardening, sorting it out, planting, weeding, grass cutting, ready for when we go away. Thanks about Smudge .x.

I am very sorry to hear your sad news Michelle, I had an awful time a few weeks back with Coco, he was very poorly and I think I cried for three days, having no children I am more than aware that I have turned them both too much into my baby substitutes. I am really, really sorry to hear your news x

I hope you don't think i am being morbid by showing her casket, but i think it is a beautiful piece of work to 'show'.The gentleman hand carves them himself.I have exactly the same one for La-La and Mum+Son are now together again side by side on the unit.x.
Mods-i will quite happily remove the pics if i have to.x.
Nice to have you back online Michelle :flower3:

Thank you Claire,it is nice to have them in the house as you know my cats are indoor cats and have been since day 1,they don't like the outdoors,so the thought of having them burried outside was a big no.x.

I am so sorry to hear about your cat.
Just wanted to say that your casket is lovely. When we lost one of our dogs we had him cremated and his ashes were brought home in a casket. He is always with us. The people where he was cremated gave us some 'forget me not' seeds to plant for him.

I am so sorry to hear about your cat....I lost my dog, 6 months today, and there is not a day that he doesn't "pop" into my thoughts. Most times i am able to push them to one side but, still, at least once a week i just burst into tears (very embarressing whilst at work!!). I had him cremated and his ashes put in a tube with bluebells on with the intention of scattering his ashes in the lake where he loved to swim....however I haven't quite got round to doing it yet. That would be too final for me.
Its nice to have you back on the boards:love:

I like the casket Michelle. We had our first dog Sasha cremated and DH buried her casket in her favourite spot in the garden where she loved to lie in the sunshine. He buried it very very deep so it will never be disturbed and we planted a fuschia over the top.
I'm sorry you've had such an upset just before you go away but remember you gave Smudge a very happy life. :grouphug:

The place i use is in Ongar Essex and called Resting Pets,it is a beautiful place. You can have any animal burried or cremated there(and they are individual cremations). They also have a chapel of rest. They offer so many different caskets+colours, also scatter baskets, and for a charge they even pick up your furbaby from the vets, unless you want to drive there yourself.x.

Ours was all arranged by our vet for us, but it's nice to no that these places are about.
Dh has fish and a bird now .

But glad Smudge has a nice resting place :cat:
Garfield, who died last July, is in a casket that we will bury in the spring in a nice big pot in an area of Mum's garden he used to like to 'sunbathe' in :)

How lovely Claire, that sounds so nice .
Unfortunatley when my other 2 'go' we will put some of each ashes in a large patio pot and will be planting a tree/shrub etc...and i will get a small plaque made with there names on,as it's something Dd7 wants to do .x.

That's exactly what we did for our Bonnie when she died, although instead of having a plaque made we screwed the tag from her collar to the tub. She was a Cavalier King Charles and as we scattered the ashes some of them blew away, which I said was typical of her as she was always wanting to go off exploring whenever she could. :rotfl:
