Hi everyone!
The plans- we are getting married on September 5, 2009. We are having an outdoor wedding ceremony at state park near our area. The reception will be in one of their halls there as well. The next day we will be leaving @ 4 from the airport and arriving in Orlando @ 7:30 i think. We are staying CL @ AKL for 6 days. We will be on the deluxe dining plan.

I thought I would break it down so new people don't have to go e searching for the posts. I hate that!

It looks like a beautiful place to get married - hope you're not hiking the day of your wedding! :rotfl: You two look like a cute couple together!!

Congrats on starting your PJ and I'm looking forward to reading more!! :goodvibes

PS - check out Carolina's PJ (camera381) - she's getting married the same day as you! :thumbsup2

That looks so pretty!!! I can't wait to hear all of the details and see lots more pics!!!

The dining plan is def a great idea - make your reservations as soon as you can - just because they can be really hard to get if you have specific dining times in mind.

Though Id drop in and give an update....

Here are my bridesmaid dresses *i think* i like them and they are inexpensive but no one has them in stock so the girls cant try them on....anyone have any opinoin on whether or not its okay to not try them on? They will be pink with a chocolate sash and I am having the sashes shortened bc they are too long for my taste.

Yay for another home wedding PJ! You and your DF make an adorable couple!!! I like the bridesmaid dress too!! I think you're fine to order without trying on. We did that when I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding, and it was fine! Plus, an A line dress like that would look great on anybody! Can't wait to read more!

First of all your Ring is sooo pretty!

Now important stuff - get rid of Yak & Yeti! I have never ever read a good review and we HATED it when we were there. I think its by far the worst restaurant on disney property. If you don't believe me then go over and ask the restaurant board. I just would hate to see you be as disapointed as we were/are.

Also I LOVE the brown derby at the studios - I would say I prefer it to mama melroses and the 50's primetime. The only negative is that I think they require two meal plan tickets.

Earl of Sandwich is my all time favorite - great job! everything else looks good.

If you order the bridesmaid dresses are they returnable if they don't work?

livinlife25
03-25-2009, 04:50 PM
Ive acftually seen several good reviews of Yak & Yeti.....its not sometihng im dying to do but we are on deluxe and i dont want to waste a table service on a counter and Tusker house sounds disgusting to me......All i really want to try is that wonton desert lol!!! I am very picky and looked at brown derby's menu and i couldnt find one thing i wanted to eat there lol!!! but thats just me :) thanks for the advice though! The lady said today on teh bridesmaid dresses we could send them back for a new size if they were wrong!

Thats great about the dresses - I would just order them then - I think they are really pretty.

Is the rainforest cafe part of the meal plan? Animal Kingdom has always been lacking in food choices compared to the other parks. We were at Yak & Yeti the first week it was open - maybe its improved since then. But my understanding from other posts here is that its not a disney owned or operated restaurant - so I don't think the quality control is the same.

livinlife25
03-25-2009, 06:29 PM

It is fabric from Hobby Lobby.....It was just a whim, I walked past the fabric and knew I had to do something with it lol! So I got what they call a "paper box" its like cardboard... Got some fabric glue and put it together...the only weird thing is those creases on top of the box arent noticeable until i put the pictures on here....I cant even see them just looking at it......:confused3

Thought I'd post some pics of the dress and jewelery......Keep in mind Im not good with my new camera @ all...It seems the more expensive the camera, the more gadgets and if you dont understand the gadgets, you get a worse picture than the cheaper cameras.....About the jewelry....I like it...That being said I realize it doesnt look real and that was never my intention! But I went and looked at some wedding photog sites and looked at all the brides necklaces and they all look this way and id never even noticed till i set out to actually look at their necklaces!! I'm off to get ready for the E-Pics today. Im completely nervous and scared and know Im gonna look horrible but i gotta do it anyway!

Love your ring, your dress and the engagement photo. I agree with the bridesmaid sash being too long (that was the first thing I though when I saw the dress and then read what you wrote.

We never ate at Yak and Yeti - but we were in the AK two weeks ago and ate the buffet at Tusker House and it was wonderful.

Our story? Well....its not that exciting but here it goes! We met in June 2005. We actually met on match.com. We decided to meet up one day at a state park, it is actually the park that we took our engagment pictures in. From then on we were together...We traded off going to each others towns, me to his on weekend, him to mine the next. After a couple of months the long distance began to take its toll and we split up. We had already been planning a vacation for the end of August 05 and decided to go ahead and go. On the vacation we decided to get back together and the day we got home I applied for a job in his town. A month later we got our own apartment and lived there for 3 years. Last summer we bought a house together, which has been wonderful. I was starting to get to the end of my rope though when it came to getting him to "settle down." Imagine my surprise last year when we walked past a jewelry store and he asked if I wanted to go in!!! He asked me what I thought of my now engagement ring and it was my absolute favorite..Turns out he had already picked it out a couple days before. On Christmas Eve 2008 :santa:he asked me to marry him....Of course I said yes. And the rest is the planning journal....:yay:

I tried to post this on the board but nobody responded and I really need opinoins so I thought Id try and ask it here although I prolly wont get a response here either!!!!

I was thinking of buying place cards instead of DIYing them.It would cost less to buy them right now from this place than to do it myself. THey are 75% off and would hardly cost me anything and save alot of time. My question....are they cheap looking? are they cute? should i get them?

*I would be getting either the pink or the pink and brown one

We are going to have to hvae people park in a parking lot and have a tram take them to the ceremony site so we may use that as the designation on where people should park. The pink carnations with the coffee beans will be hanging from shepherds hook that have a galvanized metal bucket base and will be in the aisle of the ceremony....:lovestruc Im so happy im finally getting stuff done!

I love the program/fans. We're also having our wedding outdoors and I was going to make something like thise for our guests, but decided to just buy wooden fans and attach the program to it.

I also like the carnations and coffee beans! I may have to copy that idea for our ceremony as we're also getting married outside in a garden. We're using coffee beans in our center pieces at the reception, but I didn't think to use the idea at the ceremony!

I hope you post pictures once you've got all your DIY projects finished!

What day is your wedding? I will definitely post pictures. Where are you getting your coffee beans? Any ideas on costs? We were just trying to figure out how we can find them cheap....

I liked the placecards. Great purchase!

I like garter # 3. Definitely let us know which one you end of picking!

I like the fan idea. I am thinking of doing one myself...

So I did some shopping this weekend although it really doesn't have much to do with the wedding. I guess I needed a break from wedding planning. :rotfl: The first thing I bought was a new comforter set/curtains for the master bedroom. Now you all know we are staying @ AKL for our honeymoon. So what else would I buy other than JCPenney's Disney Resort Collection AKL!!! I put the curtains up but am waiting until after we are married to to do the comforter set.

We're getting married Sept. 12th! :lovestruc

I haven't priced the coffee beans yet, but we're going to look at costco/sam's club & walmart. One thing to think about with the coffee beans and fresh flowers is what will happen to the water. I haven't done a test run yet, but I'm worried the coffee beans will make the water brown and I'll end up with some mushy, yucky water & coffee beans with flowers sticking out....

I found 12 oz bags of kroger coffee beans for 2.85 on sale this week. I had an idea at work today which may fix our water problem im not sure. What if we put that florist foam that has been soaked in water in there and stick the flowers in there. I dont think it would get too many of the beans wet *you would put it in after it was done dripping* and with that foam in there we wouldnt need as many coffee beans, therefore saving money. What do you think?

Hmmm I'm going to have to look at Krogers and start stocking up on Coffee Beans!

Great idea about the florists foam. Good thinking about it take up more space therefore needing less coffee beans. Another idea, to go along with the florists foam, is to put the foam in ZipLock baggies, and cover the foam and baggies with coffee beans. Extra protection from soggie beans!

The invitations came in last night!! I have the best fiance ever because he addressed almost all of them last night! My only problem with the invites is the response cards...when I ordered them I didnt notice that there isnt a place to mark no?? Please look at the response cards and tell me how people are going to reply their no's, Im really worried!! My bridesmaid dresses also came in yesterday and I am going with one of them today to try it on :) Will post pics as soon as I can. I aplogize for the horrible paint job trying to cover up names, i shouldnt have used a laptop with no mouse!

Hmm... hmmm

Did you see your RSVPs before you ordered your invitations? Looks as though you may only hear from people who are attending and just assume those you haven't heard from are not. You might contact whom ever you ordered your invites from and see if they have a suggestion.

My only other thought is to head to Paper Source and pick out something that matches and print new RSVPs at home.

Thought I would let you know how the coffee beans went....Im scrapping the florist foam....when i used it, you had to put the foam and flowers in before the beans and then you had very little rooms to get the beans in so it took FOREVER and carnation seems to be pretty drought resistant so I am just putting damp paper towels into the sandwhich bag and rubber banding it off....And low and behold we went to Target today and in their clearance section they had free standing wreath hooks....in BRONZE!!! I couldnt believe the luck...so we took all the buckets and shepherds hooks back... The pictures I took are from earlier in the week so it includes the old way we are doing it, but you will get the idea.....only 55 days to go i believe!

I actually ended up firing my florist and am doing my flowers myself! My inspiration was this bouquet which I am using garden roses.
