Hello!! I started this TR on the general Trip Reports board but I really wanted to put it on the cruise board, too!! And with a little encouragement from Podsnel, here I am!! :wave2: I'm just going to copy and paste the same posts from my other thread (hope that's ok :confused3 ). There'll be a little bit of cruise, a little bit of WDW and even a little bit of wedding. Here we goooooooo!!!
Okay, a little background info:
Here's our engagement picture! And by that, I mean the picture that I took of us after we got engaged. I've become really good and taking pics of us by holding out my arm! It's easier if I'm on the left side of him, but this one came out pretty good!
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/108055100_2552-B.JPG
Me: Nikki - Disney girl, born and raised! My first trip was when I was 18 months old. My parents drove in a station wagon from NJ with me and my 5 year old sister. Apparently we also went to the World's Fair in Tennessee on that trip, but I don't remember it. ;) Since then, we went every four years until I was 13, then I've been at least once a year since then.
DFi: Tom - WDW virgin until he met me! Tom likes to draw and is really good at it. He even went to animation school for a while and was always into Disney and Disney movies, he just never went to Disney World before. Now we are both Disney fanatics from parks to movies, history and everything else Disney related.
We started dating in 2003. Our first trip to Disney World was in August 2006 and we had a blast!! He was instantly hooked...thankfully! Or I don't know if this wedding would be taking place! ;) Our second trip was August 2007, where we engaged on a bench on the World Showcase lagoon. We went once again for a long weekend in the winter of 2008.
Tom after his first day ever in Disney! He's exhausted, but notice the smile on his face!
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/501/108055tomtired.JPG
So of course, our honeymoon had to be a DISNEYmoon. At first, we batted around the idea of of going to London and Paris...so we can go to Disneyland Paris. But I'm too much of a control freak to go to a place I've never been before (if that makes sense). So how could we switch it up so it's not just a regular WDW trip? ADD A DISNEY CRUISE!!!

THE HONEYMOON!
Our wedding is Saturday night, July 18th and we have a 6:30AM flight out the next morning! Crazy, you say? Maybe we are but our thinking was, let's just get there! Like I'm really going to sleep that night anyway! I can never sleep the night before Disney. We'd go straight from the reception to the airport if there was a redeye.
The Resort: We stayed at the WL on our 2007 trip and Tom loved it. It's my favorite resort, too, so that's where Tom thinks we're staying. A long time ago, I asked Tom, "If you could stay anywhere in Disney, where would you stay?" His answer, "The Polynesian, but I know we'll never stay there because it's too expensive." At that moment, I decided we're staying at he POLY!!! Luckily, because I'm in charge, he still has no idea and I can't believe I've kept it a secret for so long. We were able to take advantage of the Buy 4, Get 3 free deal...but we're only staying 6 nights, so really we're getting 2 free. We can't stay the extra night because we leave for the cruise that morning!!! We also had to get 1-day base tickets since we have APs. I'm still thinking an AP discount may be released and we'll switch back to a room-only reservation but we'll have to just wait and see...

Dining: We LOVE to eat! But we tried the dining plan when we went on our 4-day trip last winter and we ended up with FIVE counter service meals leftover! I think part of our at-home eating habits comes from boredom and in Disney, we just don't think to stop and eat unless we are hungry. We even sometimes split counter service. At home, I like to get nice and full when I eat, and then lay down in front of the TV for a while...but July is too hot to be walking around Disney with full belly! So we probably won't do the dining plan again.
Here's my tentative list of where we want to eat.
* need ADR
7/19 -
lunch: Pecos Bill
dinner: 'Ohana*
7/20 -
breakfast: Kona*
lunch: Flame Tree
7/21 -
lunch: Chefs de France* (I just switched this with Mexico)
dinner: Rose and Crown *(hopefully outside for Illumintations)
7/22 -
breakfast: pastries and coffee at Royal Anandapur Tea Co. AK
lunch: Beaches and Cream
7/23 -
lunch: Liberty Tree Tavern*
7/24 -
lunch: Beirgarten*
7/25 -
breakfast: we'll try to hit up Kona for breakfast again (if we like it the first time) before we leave for the cruise but don't want to commit to an ADR at this point so if we can't get in, maybe we'll order room service
All other meals, we'll just play by ear. We want to be able to snack a lot which is why we're doing mainly ADRs for lunches so we don't have to worry about "saving room for dinner" all day! Also because lunch is usually less expensive and in case of the buffets, most likely the same food. ;) All of our ADRs are places we've never eaten at before and I'm excited to try new places. (We had dinner at LTT but never lunch. And once we had the AK breakfast I'm planning totally by accident and it was awesome to just chill and peoplewatch, while listening to the monkeys scream! I want to recreate it!)

So another reason the dining plan didn't work for us so well is that we like to fill up on drinks!! Actually, I'm usually not a big drinker at all. Occassionally I'll get a drink with dinner but I'm kind of past the "going out on the weekends and getting drunk" phase. I'd rather do without the sick feeling in the morning and I usually end up with a headache two drinks in anyway....But for some reason in Disney, I LOVE my drinks!! My favorite???
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/502/108055101_0692.JPG
MMMMMM mmmm mmmmm! The tasty margarita! Here we are enjoying some in my favorite World Shocase pavilion...Mexico!

This is what happens after one margarita...
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/108055100_23751.JPG
Here's an example of what might hapen after two margaritas.....
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/747/108055100_1204-B.JPG
Here's what might happen after three or more....
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/108055101_0715.JPG
NO IDEA whose stroller that was...Chip motioned for me to get in it and who was I to argue!
I've got it all planned out so that we can have three margaritas before going the rest of the way around WS. Here's how! We always start going around WS with Mexico. Get margarita #1 asap. Enjoy it while walking around the pavilion. Come out of the pavilion and get margarita #2. Enjoy this while walking around Norway. Before going onto China, run back real quick to get margarita #3. Ta Da!
Just to show you we DO enjoy other drinks...
Here we are with some frozen drinks at the Banana Cabana! Again, see how good I am at taking pics of ourselves? Who needs photopass?!
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/108055100_2362.JPG
Hope you guys like pics! That's always my favorite part of other people's trip reports so I hope you don't mind...I'm probably going to put a lot of pics in here!

I have this shopping problem. It's actually quite different from most women's shopping problems. I actually very rarely shop. I'm the kind of person that goes to a store, gets what I came for and leave. I do not like to browse. I'm just too practical and I hate spending money on clothes unless I really need something.
BUT for some reason, whenever I have a trip planned, I have to buy and buy and buy!! In fact, if it wasn't for my Disney trips, I probably would never buy anything! (Okay, that's a little bit of an exaggeration.) But I didn't own a pair of shorts that fit before our first trip to WDW together and I think I bought 18 pairs for an 8-day trip. Disney trips is the only thing I get excited to buy stuff for!
I mention this now because I got some D23 merchandise in the mail today, including the red messenger bag that I thought would be perfect for future DH to use for excursions. The only problem is, I bought a personalized messanger bag a while ago when Disneyshopping had them on sale. In fact, I have about eight bags that would be appopriate for him to use but I guess I just wanted an excuse to buy something D23. Well, here it is.

What will I use for excursions?? This!

Thanks!! Well, like I said, we wanted to try all new places to eat this trip. We've eaten at Le Cellier and Crystal Palace breakfast the past two trips. PLUS, we are going back in October for a long weekend with my sister, brother-in-law and 8 month old niece (she'll be 15 months by then) and Crystal Palace is a MUST for that trip!
Here's a Crystal Palace pic from last trip.

How about a little wedding info??
Unfortunately, we are not having a Disney World wedding but it will be a little bit disney! We knew we wanted a Disney theme but didn't really want it to look like a kid's birthday party. We threw around some ideas, mickey and minnie, cinderella, etc. Finally we came up with idea to base the theme of our wedding on Wishes, the MK fireworks show. Here's how we're going to do it.
Cake - We're going to get a cake with some sort of star theme on it. Haven't met with the baker yet but I printed some ideas from the net!
Wedding Song - When You Wish Upon a Star, of course!! But to make it more personal and not so cheesy, we are having Billy Joel's version from the 90's tv special, Simply Mad About the Mouse. We've seen Billy Joel in concert a couple of times and, although we didn't even know each other at the time, we've talked about how we both enjoyed that special when it was on t.v.
Favors - Instead of favors we are going to donate to Make a Wish.
Centerpieces (my favorite part!)) - We are having Disney snowglobes and each one will be decorated with star garland and tulle and a ribbon stating a "wish" from that movie. Confused yet? Here are the two practice ones that we've done so far.
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/747/108055101_2960-med.JPG
This one is for Cinderella but it's not exactly done. We ran out of tulle so it will be a little more filled in.
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/747/108055101_2964-med.JPG
I absolutely LOVE how they came out!! I'm waiting until school gets out to put the other ones together. I know it's going to be a total pain getting the globes and bases to the reception hall. Luckily, my friend who helped me put them together volunteered to go to the hall early to make sure they are set up properly.

That's right! Rockefeller Center.
Okay, so Thursday was Tom's birthday. So I got us tickets to his favorite musical, Guys and Dolls, which just came back to broadway this month. Of course, we took the train into the city early so we can go to the World of Disney store!!
For those of you who don't know, it's the only other World of Disney store outside of Disney parks. They sell a park-exclusive merchandise so you get a feeling of actually being in Disney when you are there. WAY better than the disney stores in your local mall. They also have a lot of Disney/NYC merchandise, like Minnie dressed as the Statue of Liberty, clothes that say NYC with a Mickey head, or that famous I *heart* NY shirt but with a red Mickey head instead of a heart. You get the idea.
Well, apparently a few months ago they announced to the cast members who work there that it would be closing but they didn't give a date so I was very glad it was still open. The store is three floors so e spent a good hour and a half in there and it wasn't until I left that I realized I didn't buy a single thing for myself! I bought my brother-in-law a t-shirt that says New York City with Mickey dressed as a police officer (he's a cop in Brooklyn). I bought my niece tiny pearl earings. Each earing has three pearls like a hidden mickey. I bought my sister a necklace that says Mom with a little Mickey head underneath. (She's a new mom this year!) I bought my dad a money clip with a mickey head on it (he just lost his old one a few weeks ago) and Tom got Mickey cufflinks for the wedding!! That was the big find of the day!
So that was all on one side of the first floor. Clothes, jewelry, accessories, etc. The other side of the first floor is all the kitchen stuff you can find at the WOD in WDW. Cups, plates, snacks, etc.
The second floor is stuffed animals, toys, books, movies and cds. Again, a lot of toys you can only get in the parks. Lots of stuff that you can find in the POTC store, etc.
The third floor is mostly collectables and art. This is the floor that scares me because I am accident prone and am always afraid I'm going to knock over some thousand dollar statue. There was an entire wall of the Jim Shore statues, which I love but I don't do "things" around my house so I didn't get any! On this floor you can also find frames that I've seen in park stores and computers directing you to book your trip!!
But the BEST thing on this floor is the character meet and greet room. I've only seen the princesses there but I've heard they have some other characters too. They even have a photopass photographer. No one was there when we were yesterday.
Or was there.....
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/108055101_3478.JPG
NOOOO! That is NOT our Mickey Mouse. He was actually just standing on the street with what looked to be Elmo and the Cookie Monster, but I couldn't be sure. If we weren't in a rush to get to the theatre, I would have stopped to take of picture of Mickey with Tom (probably giving him a dirty look) but we had to run!
Lastly, when we finally took our seats at the theatre and were waiting for the play to start, Tom couldn't help but notice that the top three dice on the stage visual looked strangely like a hidden mickey...what do you think??
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/108055101_3479-med.JPG
See how we can find a lot of "Disney" in any day?! Other than that, it turned out to be a beautiful day and Tom enjoyed the leisurely walk from the WOD, through Rockefeller Center to the theatre. He works in Manhattan so he usually isn't jumping at the chance to go there on the weekends too. Oh, and the play was GREAT!! Tom saw it originally with Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella (Timon and Pumba in the Lion King) so it was hard to beat but he really enjoyed it too. Oliver Platt and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) were in it. I thought she was great...way better than I expected.
So glad just to be able to stay home today! It's been a busy month!!

I didn't print on the ribbon, I printed on vellum, which you can put right into your computer, then I cut it to fit on the ribbon and used a xyron machine to make it a "sticker" and just stuck it onto the ribbon.

Reading your posts has totally made my day! :goodvibes Thank you for that! I look forward to sharing your journey through this thread. You and your fiance are beautiful and I am so happy for you both. My DH and I are going to be on the Wonder to celebrate our 3rd anniversary on May 28 (58 days Woo Hoo!).
Our first cruise ever was a 4-night on the Wonder in 2005. We then got married on a RC cruise in 2006. It was a great wedding and honeymoon, but after the DCL cruise we were a teensy bit disappointed with the RC cruise itself. Nothing beats DCL!

So yesterday I had my first fitting at David's Bridal and it was awful!!! The woman seemed like she had no idea what she was doing! I had to tell her the places that I thought didn't look right and she was just pin happy. She actually even put a pin in the middle of the bust! What the heck is she going to sew there?!?! So I told her I was going to go somewhere else. She didnt' seemed surprised....
So today I had a REAL dress fitting at a place around the corner from me. It's just one woman who's been there since I can remember and she was awesome! She knew just what to do and made me feel much better about leaving the dress in her hands.
BTW...today is my 99 days until WDW!!!!!!!

So, the invites are printed, assembled and ready to go!!!
To save a little money (and honestly, because I like these better than the hundreds of styles I looked at in books at the hallmark store) we used these kits I found at Michaels. They were regular 39.99 for 30 invites but they were on sale for $$24.99!! Can't beat it! So I bought 3 kits. They were sooo easy to do! The kit comes with a website of the company. You just put in the style name and you can download the templates that fit your invites...for the direction card, mailing label, etc. Honestly, figuring out the wording and making sure I had everyones addresses was the hardest part! Last weekend, I got everything printed then last night I brought everything to my sister's house and she, my best friend and I spent a few hours putting them all together! Here is the final product!!
So even though they are not disney invitations, I had to add a Disney touch. The kit came with stickers to put on the front of the invite. I bought a mickey head punch at the craft store and it was the perfect size for these stickers! So they are the same style as the invite but in the shape of Mickey!!
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/medium/101_3594.JPG
This is what it looks like when you open it up. The invite is stuck to the center of the envelope and there is a pocket on the left side that holds all the other information.
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/medium/101_3591.JPG
Here's a close up of what's in the pocket on the left: direction card to church, direction sheet from reception hall, hotel information from hotel and rsvp card and envelope.

Finally, this is the front with the address label.

So I do NOT like spending money...unless it's on a Disney trip, so I was kind of not looking forward to buying wedding bands. Well, we knew we had to do it so we decided to go today. We wanted to go to The Jewelry Exchange because we figured we might get a good deal but we left early this morning and (good thing!) the place was not opened yet. We had a little time to kill, so we decided to go to the mall, which was right there. Well, we passed by Forunoff and  hey, they are going out of business, maybe we should look there!
Well, they are having crazy going out of business sales and all the jewelry was 50% off then another 10% off. Pickings were kind of slim but that's fine with me, makes it easier for me to decide. We wanted plain and simple and we were able to get exactly what we wanted. I got a 2mm white gold band, originally $125 on sale for $56.25!! Tom got a 3mm platinum (would have been white gold, too, but that's all they had in his size), originally $425 on sale for $191.25.
We just bought $588 worth of bands for $264!! :thumbsup2
I am super excited because my friends at work laughed at me when I told them I was going to find a band for $50 and I just LOVE getting a good bargain!!
AND, since we were right there...we went to my favorite restaurant JOSE TEJAS for lunch!! What a great day!!

One more step in the wedding planning process will be completed tonight. We are meeting with the priest for the 4th time. The first time was just an introduction and he gave us the information on all the pre-cana classes we had to go to. Then we met with him to complete a F.O.C.C.U.S (I have no idea what it stands for), which is sort of a compatablity test!! Last time, we met and discussed the results of the test and now we are meeting to plan out all the little details of the ceremony.
We picked out our readings and our vows. I don't think we are doing any of the extras...unity candle, flowers for Mary, etc. We're not even having a mass...just the plain and simple ceremony.
Did I mention that our priest is Tom's cousin? Makes it a little easier because I usually get super nervous talking to people who I consider authority!
Wish us luck!!
OH BTW, people started receiving our invitations today!!! And we now have $435 on our disneyhoneymoonregisty!!! Woo Hoo!!!:yay:

I'm not sure, but I think we might just use it to pay off the hotel once we get there. I know, it's boring but I'm just too practical to use it for a splurge!

I think I understand why some brides can be "bridezillas!"
So I made it nice and easy on everyone and made a nice long list of things that I want you to buy me...in other words, we made a registry. This is a list telling you, the guest at my shower, exactly what you can buy me. Should NOT be a problem, right?
Well first of all, people felt the need to encourage me, multiple times, and after I already registered, to register "here" not "there." Whatever. At first we didn't register for a lot because we have an apartment and I felt like we didn't need a lot, but if people are going to buy us stuff, why not? So we made a loooong list. Well, like I said I've been stalking the registry and not even a 1/4 of the items have been bought.
Well, my future mother-in-law (whom I LOVE, btw, and who is one of the people trying to get me to register at a different place) tells me that her other daughter-in-law called her so upset the other day that there was nothing on the list she could buy. :confused3: Whatever. Have you loooked, there's a lot. Well, not a lot of "big" stuff. What does that mean?? There is plently of big stuff and how about get a few of the small stuff that I NEED! (I always buy a bunch of small stuff for other people's showers, I think it's nice to put a little package together.)
So then Tom's cousin calls me last night to tell me she's at Sears (not where I registered) and she found a red microwave. Now, I registered for a lot of red kitchen stuff so I know where she's going with this but I have a microwave. So I tell her no thank you. Then she gets pissed "Well, Nikki, if you would have put more stuff on your registry, people would know what to get you." "THERE IS A ****LOAD OF THINGS ON THE LIST!" "Well, Erin said that she couldn't find something..." "WELL ERIN IS FULL OF **** BECAUSE THERE ARE PLENTY OF THINGS THAT ARE ON THE LIST TO BUY!"
It is not my problem that you can't look on the list and find something. I tried to make it as easy as possible for you, I made a nice list of things I want, just buy something from it!! I actually got snippy with her for the first time....and I totally understand the bridezilla thing now! I have other things to think about besides you not being able to find something to buy me. SORRY! Not my problem. CHECK THE LIST!!
In case your interested, the conversation ended with her deciding she is going to get me the red toaster oven....I didn't register for a toaster oven.

I really can't believe people sometimes... what is with getting you a red toaster oven when you don't WANT a new toaster oven? People are so ridiculous. They need to go to the store where you are registered and start shopping- PERIOD. It's YOUR wedding, they asked you to tell them what you wanted with a registry, but now it's not what they want so they're having an issue??? OMG! I didn't have a registry when i got married because I had inherited a ton of crystal, china & silver already, and before the dawn of time when i got married 23 years ago:scared1: that was pretty much the only stuff you registered for. But, you know, maybe the people complaining about what you want are just wanting to give you something more special than whatever you've got on your list? Either way, they should respect your wishes and buy you what you'd like. Hang-in-there!! It will all be worth it on your big day!

I don't know why, but whenever we get to the 76 day mark of our countdown, we always sing "76 trombones led the big parade!" Well, today is the day and I'm so excited because it's just one step closer!! I don't think I posted a picture of our countdown calendar yet but this is it, in case you're curious. We rip off a sheet each night so that the last night before our trip, we rip off number one and see a sheet that says, "It's here!!!" This is an old picture from a past trip so the number is off. This is a permanent fixture on our wal, btw...

Okay so the second part of this post's title...money!! We've been collecting change in a large plastic coke bottle since we got engaged. Most of the change came from Tom's mom but we put in as much as we could too. I've also been putting bills in there. Sometimes, just whatever singles are in my wallet, sometimes a 20. Well, the cruise money is due next monday so I wanted to have a coing rolling party. Now, I what you're thinking because I heard it from everyone I told about my party....why not bring it to the bank?? Well, because that's no fun! I wanted to get a picture of the bottle before we dumped it (and it cracks under the weight of the coins) but my camera is not working properly and the battery (although charged all night) was dead. So we rolled and rolled and rolled. We had a few party guests, and with the help, it did not take long at all!!
The grand total.....................................
$1140!!!!!
I am super excited because that's about 1/2 of what's left for the cruise. My camera decided it was going to turn on, so I took a picture of what it all looks like rolled up but my desk top is not working so I can't upload the picture to post. (Yeah, I have having some major technology issues.) I also have an envelope that I've been collecting $20s. I put one in a week and any extra money I get goes in there too. I haven't counted that recently, as that's for the WDW portion and that money is not due yet, but I think it's about $800. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Welcome!! Ugh, HORRIBLE experiences at David's Bridal!! But they have nice, affordable dresses, so I went anyway and found a beautiful dress. The first woman I met with was awful and the "alterations department" was so awful that I told her to take out the pins, I'm not leaving my dress here!

Sunday night at midnight marks my 75 day out mark for the cruise so I've been spending some time narrowing down excursion ideas. I think we've settled on this...
Key West - GPS Walking Tour: I think this is perfect for us. We really just wanted to walk around Key West on our own but I'm so anal and obssessive that I need some sort of direction. It's like this was MADE for me!
Cozumel - Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel and Beach Party: This sounds awesome!! It's a 3-in-1 that includes snorkeling, which is something I really wanted to do and unlimited margaritas and beer included at the beach party!! And the price is very affordable!
Castaway Cay - Parasailing: I'm SUPER excited to do this. It's one of those once-in-a-lifetime things. I'm also planning on maybe renting bikes, snorkel gear, floats but I think I can do that if we decide to once we get there. (right?)
Grand Cayman - Dolphin Encounter and Turtle Farm: Okay this is the one that's giving me trouble. For some reason, it's not showing up on my "wish list" which is making me think it's all booked. So today I started looking into it and found if I book it on my own, it's waaaaay cheaper. Which then makes me think I should just book it on my own regardless. The only thing I'm nervous about is getting there and back (again the anal thing, I like to know that transportation is taken care of) and the slim possibility of the cruise not going to Grand Cayman (for whatever reason) and me losing all that money.
So for those of you that have done a cruise before...what do you think of my choices? And do you have any advice about my dolphin problem??
And just because I like to post pictures, here's one in memory of Bea Arthur and also in memory of the Backlot Tour that once was. Sad to see both gone.

Tho - gotta ask....have you also considered the "Rainforest Room" at the Vista Spa?? An all day pass is $15/day and while I was on the Wonder (Jan 2009), I just fell in love with that place!:cloud9:.
So much, I am signing up for the Vista Spa "Alone Time" as well as a weeks pass to the Rain Forest room when I head back to the House of Mouse in October :cloud9: & :goodvibes.

.....I have an idea but I don't wanna misadvise ya so yes - please let us know "what that means."
But rest assured, I feel /felt the same way you feel about having Disney take care of things while one is out on a shore excursion. But - I have chosen to 'step out a little" and sign up for a non-Disney shore excursion while out on Grand Cayman (November 3rd) and it is:
1) Cptn Marvin's Stingray City Reef and Snokel (shore excursion).
A DISser friend of mind did a Cpt Marvin excursion and liked it. Yes, it was also cheaper but I am choosing to do this as I wanna try something different every day and well----- CPT Marvins fits the bill. There are Disboards reviews on this (he even has his own website) if ya r intererted.

Thanks for the info!! I did a little more research and found out that Dolphin Discover is a $25 taxi ride each way! So in the long run, it's not really cheaper. Hopefully, I can get it through DCL, if not, I will look into the excursion that you were talking about.

Nikki- you should call DCL or your travel agent to figure out about the dolphin excursion and why it's not showing up for you now. At 12 am Sunday morning a LOT of people will be going online to book stuff- and it can get hairy- you don't want to waste time trying to figure that stuff out then. For example, for me, when i went online at 12 am, the system kept telling me I wasn't paid in full for about 15 minutes- which was IMPOSSIBLE, because I paid with points and had to pay for the kids through DVC when I booked. So why not call and let them tell you it's still available or not- that way you can choose an alternative ahead of time if you need to.:)
And I wanted to tell you....I LOVE Lou Mongello!! I took your advice (finally!) and downloaded his podcasts and the DIS podcasts and I'm listening to them when I exercise at the Y and when I ride my bike or walk- I'm having so much fun listening to them, I'm walking/riding sooo much further because I just want to keep listening!!:thumbsup2 Thanks for a GREAT tip!!:woohoo:

That's good advice! I will definitely check to see what the deal is. I actually e-mailed DCL but either they didn't understand my question or just sent me the standard "wish list" answer because all they said was that "your wish list is not a reservation and blah blah blah..." You must have been freaking out for those 15 minutes!! That is my nightmare that it will happen to me!

Oh that's too funny!! Yes, I loved running while listening to his podcast. I actually haven't been listening lately. I sort of think he's gone a little crazy! He's just way over the top and it got very annoying and difficult to listen to his lou-isms (as we call it) after a while. For example, "in and of itself," "literally and figuratively," "pen to paper," and "promenade" just to name a few. Tom's breaking point was when Lou opened his show exclaiming how "delighted he was to be at the opening of the magical fairy garden..." NOT, how he enjoyed watching his daughter experience the fairy meet and greet, which would have been normal. It's like EVERY SINGLE THING is his favorite thing in the world. I like how Ricky Brigante from Inside the Magic podcasts actually says when he didn't like somehting. SORRY for the rant!! Just wanted to warn you that you may get tired of it after a while. :rolleyes1

Okaaaayyyy! Tonight is the night!! EXCURSIONS/PALO reservations! I've been watching the clock since I woke up this morning and I still have 10 hours and 18 minutes to go!! I better take a nap, although I've never been good at it. I'll try, though.

YAY!!!! I think I did it! I keep checking and checking to make sure I did everything I was supposed to!!
Okay, here's what I got...I went for Palo brunch first and there were only 2 times available, both on Day 2 (Key West day), 10:00am and 11:00am. I went for the 10:00 because I wasn't sure what time our "excursion" was going to be that day.
Palo ------ CHECK! 10:00am
Then I went for Grand Cayman to see what the deal was with that Dolphin Encounter and Turtle Farm...remember I said before that it wasn't showing up on my wish list? Well it wasn't an option for booking, which is weird because things that are booked were shaded out and this wasn't on there at all. So I just upgraded to the Dolphin Extreme Swim and Turtle Farm. A little more money. I thought about doing it on our own but the website said the cab ride alone is $25 each way, so it's just easier to do it through DCL.
Grand Cayman, Dolphin Excursion -------CHECK! 12:30pm-4:30pm
Okay, next I went for Parasailing on Castaway Cay because I wasn't sure how fast that booked up. They offered my 9:30 or 11:30. Oh crap! I didn't realize I would have to make all these split second decisions!! I went with 11:30. That way we have time to wake up a little. I think 9:30 is too early for something so thrilling. I figured we can hang on the beach for a little, do our parasailing and then have lunch.
Castaway Cay, Parasailing ------CHECK! 11:30am-12:30am
Next I went for the Cozumel Fury Catamaran, Snorkel and Beach Party. That was no problem. YAY!!
Cozumel, Fury Catamaran, Snorkel and Beach Party ------CHECK! 12:45pm-5:55pm
Lastly, I went back to the Key West day to see time for our "excursion." I put excursion in quotes because it's the GPS walking tour. Again, split second decision making! 12:15 or 1:30. I went for 12:15. I figured the earlier the better. When we are done, we can either explore more on our own, or go back to the ship. My only concern is that we won't be done with brunch by then...but it's 2 hours and 15 minutes...I think that's fine right??
Key West, GPS Walking Tour ------CHECK!!! 12:15pm-3:15pm
FYI, there were only 2 excursions that were not available...Key West Electric Car and Castaway Cay Island Cruise. Like I said, only 2 times available for Palo brunch, just on that one day, NO times left for Palo tea and LOTS of times left for dinner at Palo...
Phew. I'm so glad that's done! I'm too excited now though, I'm never going to get to sleep!!

I'm so happy you were able to get everything you wanted!! We also had Palo brunch on Key West day- it was nice, you can see Key West from Palo as you dock. :) You'll be done in time for that 12:15 excursion, it won't be a problem. It sounds like they have alot of different excursions from when we cruised just this past November! Can't wait to hear all about them!!
Just curious- why no Palo for dinner? It's very romantic.

Okay, so of couse, it's all still running through my mind as I was trying to go to sleep and I thought I'd change the Palo time to 11 instead of 10 in case my character breakfast is scheduled for that day...but I'll do it tomorrow...
OF COURSE, now that time was not available when I checked this morning. Now I'm going to obsess over it for the next two months waiting for another time to open up...
But there is some good news! Originally I wanted the Dolphin Encounter in Grand Cayman but all that was showing up was the EXTREME Dolphin excursion, which is $30 more per person. I was fine with that so I booked it. Well today when I was checking on my reservations (for the 12th time), I noticed that this excursion was now listed!! When I clicked on it did say "new" so I cancelled the EXTREME and snagged the one I originally wanted. :woohoo:

But there is some good news! Originally I wanted the Dolphin Encounter in Grand Cayman but all that was showing up was the EXTREME Dolphin excursion, which is $30 more per person. I was fine with that so I booked it. Well today when I was checking on my reservations (for the 12th time), I noticed that this excursion was now listed!! When I clicked on it did say "new" so I cancelled the EXTREME and snagged the one I originally wanted. :woohoo:
Thanks!! I don't know why, but Palo dinner just didn't appeal to me. :confused3 The brunch sounded more our style. Besides, that will just give me an excuse to go on another disney cruise..."Oh we HAVE to do Palo dinner next time..." You know!
....YYEEAAAA:yay:. Ya got what ya orig wanted! good fer you:goodvibes.

YAY!!
Oh good! That sounds nice about seeing Key West from Palo as we pull in. Yeah there were A LOT of excursion options that weren't in my 2008 Passporter.
AND, we decided to go for Palo dinner after all! Day 4 - Grand Cayman. I picked that day because it was just a regular rotation dining night. I DO NOT want ot miss a special party! I would have liked Day 3 - Formal night but it was unavailable.

....I found this out from my very first WDW / DCL trip in January. And that is that if you choose to post videos (from Photobucket.com) it won't let you post any onto your trip report IF they are over a certain amount of MB:scared1:.
Which stinks cuz I have a lot of videos shot but I can't post most of them cuz they are way too large of MB:headache:!
Anywho - DISsers...please feel free to chime in and give your opinions too on what I am about to say.....
I am guessing then I am going to keep my future WDW / DCL videos at about or under the 2 minute range - thinking I will be under the max MB I can use and still post them to my trip report.
Looking forward to reading more about you Magical trip:goodvibes
I have never been to Palo's so ya gotta let us know whatcha think -

Just a couple of updates...
-made an appointment for marriage license...
-made an appoinment for a cake tasting...
-starting thinking about planning bachelorette party and I think we're going to go to Great Adventure!! It's like a Disney preview but not nearly as good! I thought that would be a fantastic thing to do for the BP, and excuse to get all the girls today for a fun day! And I'll spend way less money than I would at the other option...Atlantic City!

Sorry! I missed this post of yours!!
Yes, there wil be plenty of pics of cake and me in bride ears!! Cake tasting went so-so. The designs that I had printed off the internet were all fondont ones which, for some reason, would cost us $200 extra. So we have to think of another plan for making star designs on a buttercream cake....I'm thinking of making white chocolates if I can find a star mold but I have to call the baker and make sure that's something that can be added to the cake. He said if I find something, he can put it on. Even it the stars are not edible, they can just take them off before cutting up and passing out the cake. I'll keep you posted on that!! Other than that, we just picked white cake with chocolate moose filling. Simple.

I feel so bad that I'm slacking so much with this PTR! Unfortunately, my desktop computer has been out of commission for about a month now and we've finally found someone who (we hope) can fix it! Then I'll be able to upload pictures, which you know I LOVE to add to TRs! We even got a new awesome camera and I haven't been able to upload any pics I've taken with it yet!! INCLUDING, pictures of my favorite restaurant (which I've spoken about before) Jose Tejas! It's so Disney-like, I can't wait to show you all pics.
SOooooo, yesterday was my bridal shower. It was not a surprise, which I was happy about. It was very strange to have all the people you know from different places all together at once.
I received a grand total of $1230 on my Disney Honeymoon Registry!! There was $950 when my package was due so I put that toward the room. Since then I received more so I have $280 left on that to take to Disney. On top of that, I received $250 Disney Dollars, a $200 Disney gift card and $150 total from various people who specifically said in the card to use the money for Disney...
So that brings my Disney money gifts to a grand total of.....
$1830!!!!!
I really can't believe it!! I never expected that DHR would be so successful! I though I'd get a couple hundred, maybe. I know that a lot of people like to give an actual gift but I was so happy that people really did use that as their primary gift. My peeps know me well!!! ;)
Other than that, the shower was good, complete with an actual shower which kind of put a damper on things. It started raining as I was opening presents so I flew through them (which was nice) and everyone went inside my mother's tiny house that is not meant to hold 50 people!
The food was awesome! My mom ordered from Shop-Rite and they do a great job. We had some sandwiches and some hot dishes. My favorite part was the soft pretzel tray from the Philly Pretzel Factory! If you have one near you, you HAVE to order from this place. It is sooo good! Unfortunately, not only do I not have my desktop to upload pics, I forgot to bring my camera, otherwise I defintely would have taken a picture of this pretzel tray to show you all!
I got almost all of the gifts I registered for....and then some! Remember the red toast oven debacle? Oh, it was there and it was HUGE! I got a lot of cake decorating supplies, which I decided is going to be my new project. I got on this kick of making chocolates from parties and I decided I'd be really good at cake decorating so I registered for a lot of that stuff. I also got lots of little gadgets. I LOVE things that are useful...if it's not useful, I don't want it. Unlike Tom, who has a room full of action figures and statues....but that's a different story. There were a few things that I'm going to take back but overall, I was very happy with the gifts received. Between the rain and my niece needing attention, I'm not sure my sister wrote down all of the gifts and the cards got all mixed up so some peope may be getting a generic, "Thank you for your gift" card.
AS SOON as someone sends me some pictures from the day, I will be sure to post them! :bride:
Five weeks from today I will be full of 'Ohana and drinky drinks and ready for my first night at the Poly!!!

I am getting married exactly 1 month from today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:
Good news! My desktop computer is back and fixed. After a month of being without it, I had pretty much given up hope but we found the best guy who fixed in less than a week and saved all of our pictures/music/documents, etc. Soooooo, last night, I printed out all of my Make a Wish announcements (basically saying we made a donation instead of giving favors). I had just spent hours formatting it just right when my computer crashed and I was so worried I would have to start from scratch. So as soon as I got my comp back, that was the first thing I did! One more thing to check off the list.
Next thing is to make my Mickey Head Fan programs. I'm not really sure I will end up using them. After all, our wedding isn't in WDW and we have a LOT of subtle disney elements in our wedding, I'm worried the fan will be too "in your face" disney, ya know what I mean?
ALSO, now that I have my computer back, I can upload and share more pictures!! So you can look forward to that soon, as well!!!!

I am SOOOOO glad this came out as nice as I wanted it to. I'm usually very apprehensive about ordering clothes online because things don't always fit me properly but when I saw this tank top and THIS graphic that you can personalize with, I HAD to make a shirt for the honeymoon!! Thanks!!! I actually was posting on that thread in the beginning but didn't know about participating in the FE. I really don't need another thing to remember to do before the wedding/honeymoon!! I just feel so swamped right now!
But I'm still following the thread, I didn't know there was going to be a DIS Meet onboard! I'd might be interested in that but it's my first cruise so I don't really know how things are going to go and where I'm going to be or what I'm going to be doing so I don't want to commit to anything, ya know what I mean?? I appreciate you including me!! :thumbsup2

Okay! Got my Mickey Mail the other day, sooo exciting!! Now that school is out, I have lists and lists of things to do!! Well yesterday's plan was to go shopping with my sister and niece to get shoes for her for the wedding! The shoe part was unsuccessful but any excuse to see "that baby" (as we call her) is a good thing! Here are some pictures of her. She turns a year old on July 9th, where has the time gone!? These are from about a month or so ago. She already looks so different. But isn't she just the cutest!!!
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/DSCN0237.jpg
I love this one because since she was born, I've been called "Aunt Paparazzi" for taking so many pictures of her. This is such a paparazzi, "don't take my picture" shot!!
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/DSCN0226.jpg
So today I was busy busy busy!! I had a long list and accomplished almost all of it. The only things I didn't do was go to the bank, call the baker and call the priest...eh, I'll do it Monday....
But I did....call the DJ, print pictures, erase memory cards, cleaned out closets, brought old clothes/towels to good will, wrote thank you notes from my shower gifts, made an appoinment for a pre-wedding waxing (ouch!) and bought an overdue christening card. phew.
On top of all that...I went shopping for the vacation!!!!!!!! Not clothes and fun stuff, like I've been doing the past year but the essentials, which was still king of fun! So here's what I got...underwear, t-shirts for Tom, toothbrushes, AA batteries, video camera tapes (yes, I'm old school), wet wipes, shower poof, deodorant, sunscreen, chapstick, razors, hairties, foot powder and dramamine!
Now I have two giant bags in my living room...one filled with wedding stuff and the other filled with honeymoon stuff.
Lastly...tomorrow is my bachelorette party! Because I'm not the "drunken party all night long, dance club, male strippers and cakes in the shape of a part of the male anatomy" type of girl, we are going to Great Adventure!! Sounds awesome right?? Well apparently, not to my "friends" all of whom "can't go." So...it's just going to be me, my sister and my other two bridesmaids, which I'd kind of almost rather! Too many people always make it difficult to make decisions. So I'll have pictures and updates from that soon!!
Soooo close now!! :bride:

So yesterday was the big day at Six Flags Great Adventure!! It was fun, but it was NOT disney!! I took a picture with Robin (of Batman and Robin) and then he asked me what time it was. Can you imagine Aladdin asking you the time? Then we past by, who I assume was the Riddler and some cat woman (not Catwoman, she was in some sort of tan leapard outfit) and they were BSing about people they work with or whatever. You would NEVER see anyone break character at Disney!! The bathrooms were disgusting, we had to pay $25 for a "Flash Pass" and we waited 30 mins on the entrance line, which were so poorly organized, people were just squeezing in around us. Oh AND, my, almost 1 year old, niece came with and she wasn't allowed to ride ANYTHING because she can't walk yet, which apparently is a requirment. I mean, even the carousel, which, if she could walk or not, my sister was going to hold her up on the horse. Oh well....here are some pics!

HEY!! I'm back!!! We had an AWESEOME vacation and with a mini-trip planned for October, we didn't even feel too sad about coming home!!!
As soon as I can see my apartment again through all this laundry, I will start my official TR. I have over 1100 pictures over the past two weeks, and that doesn't even include pics from the wedding!! I also have 108 photopass pics that I need to go through and made the book and put in the order for that and the cd.
When I turned my phone back on after the cruise, I got a message from the wedding photographer that my pictures are ready to be picked up! I also want to transfer my vaca pics onto a CD asap because I have this fear that I'm going to somehow lose all my pictures...which are AWESEOME, by the way.
I have pics of almost every meal we've eaten, pics of me with all the Disers I met and of course, the famous "arm out" technique pics that I have mastered to get a pic of the both of us. I was even able to do some with some great backgrounds.
Okay, Big Brother After Dark is now on a three hour loop in my living room....time to get started. Be back (hopefully) soon with a link to a TR.

Okay, okay, since my sister already has her pics from my wedding on snapfish, I can share some of those now! I'm concerned about the transition from PRE TR to actual TR so I will post some of them here to give you a little tease and then more in the actual TR!!
Okay, I woke up early on the 18th and I had surprisingly slept well. It was nice that my sister was in the bed with me and one of my bridesmaids was on the floor so we had some nice chit chat in the morning.
We needed to be at the hair place at 9:00 and the make-up place at 10. Here's me getting my hair done.
http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp536%3A6%3Enu%3D3393%3E832%3E479%3EWS NRCG%3D326854%3C382346nu0mrj
The smile was a little forced because we were running late on time. It was about 10:30 by the time we got to make up and the photographer was going to be at the house at noon. (That is what was going through my mind in this picture.)
http://images2d.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp536%3A2%3Enu%3D3393%3E832%3E479%3EWS NRCG%3D326854%3C384346nu0mrj
I LOVED how my hair came out! It was so ME!

After makeup, we got back to the house a little after 12. The photographer was there but at that point, I was not concerned with us being late for her. SORRY! Can't please everyone today, just gotta go with whatever happens.
We all got dressed and the most adorable baby you've ever seen somehow was even cuter than ever! My niece, Emma, who just turned a year old on July 9th, was my flower girl.

Here is my sister with Emma.

By this time, I got dressed and the photographer was already starting to piss me off. After I had my dress on, she asked me to lay on the bed for a picture. Um, first of all, this is my mother's bed and why would I lay on a bed in my wedding dress?? Ohhhh, you're the artsy fartsy kind of photographer....sorry, but I'm not! I LOVE pictures, as you will see from the over 1100 I took on vacation, but I don't like made up pictures, I like "fun, in the moment, smile the camera" pictures.
So I told her, no I'm not laying on the bed. Strike 1 Doreen! She took a few pics going down the stairs and we got into the living room for family pics.
So I get next to my mom and she tells us to face each other and hold each others hands. Uhhhhhh....can't we just look at the camera and smile? I told her I was not comfortable with that. Strike 2 Doreen! By the time she told my mom to wrap her arms around me and hold me like she did when I was a baby, I lost it!!! I think my exact words were "YOU HAVE TO STOP!" I was very upset and had a shaky "I'm about to cry" voice. She sort of said, "Well I don't know what to do with you then" and I suggest "how about I look at the camera and smile."
I'm sure a lot of people LOVE her photoshoot style, feeling like a model for a day but I am NOT a model and don't want to play the role of a bride, I just want to be the bride that I am. Does that make sense?
So after the mini-freak out, she really did back off a lot and consulted with my bridesmaids on any shot she was unsure if I would go for or not.
If you want to see more pics from the wedding you HAVE to read my official TR!!!!!!!!!

First of all... congratulations married girl!!!!!
You look beautiful in the few pictures up there- I can't wait to see the rest!
I am so excited that you had an awesome trip! Wedding plus Disney trip- just doesn't get any better than that!:yay:
Second of all- how did you keep from reaching over and throttling the photog? Is she kidding - lay down on the bed? In your gown? With your hair done? And the arms around you like a baby? Do people really do that kind of thing-seriously? It's been 12 years since I planned a wedding but I told the photog straight out- none of that crap! Point and shoot buddy!
Can't wait to hear and see more!!!
