I have contacted to ask if they have been posted. Their response did not answer my question but merely said 'sorry they haven't arrived, will send more on Tues'

I have no idea what this means. I don't know if they sent the pins I bought and are assuming they are lost (I'm annoyed they are late coming but I doubt they are lost...) and I dont' know if they have two of each pin I bought or sending different ones?

~Quick warning to you both. There were a couple of these that were fakes. I did pm you back but here is some of what I was saying so that anyone who worries about the same thing can be careful of..

I hate knowing people give these type of sellers their money and don't end up with what they ordered.:sad1: I won't buy from ebayers now who sell "mystery lots" b/c of that. I try to buy the lots where you can tell it is just somebody selling their collection or something so I have been lucky with that for the most part.

A lot of the time you will be able to see on pinpics if you read under the desciption if there are scrappers on that particular pin and it will tell the differences between the real and fake version.

Gosh, I was not meaning to sound stuck up about my pins or anything... :scared: Hope I did not come across that way.

I buy what I like too but the part that just really makes me mad is when people knowingly sell the scrappers that they bought for 10cents each from china all over ebay and make money off of them saying they are real pins. It is so dishonest and then they end up all over the lanyards the cm's wear at Disney and everyone goes home with fakes. I would only know that a pin is fake if there were info on it from pinpics so when I look a pin up to add to my collection list I read about it and if they say there are scrappers of it then I check mine out to see if it is the real version or not. If you see it is you know you can't add it to your trades on pinpics b/c you can't send anyone a fake pin like that and it would also not be fair for me to knowingly put them on a cm's lanyard on our trip, ya know? So then these people get your money and you end up with a pin you can't trade. :sad2: I just get so mad with the bad sellers who do that to people is all. ;) They really hurt the hobby for those of us who really enjoy it.

No Amanda I don't think your a pin snob. Just pointing out that even with the pins I got from eBay for myself according to Pinpics they were good except for the Sedesma and I liked it so much it didn't matter.

Now after all that, I haven't bought pins off eBay in a very long time so there might be a lot more scrappers out there now, then when I started.

And I agree it does stink that they are so flooded that they have made it unto the CM lanyards.

I'm almost afraid to do the pin exchange again now because I'm afraid I'll send someone a fake. :eek: I just know what I like and I try to send my "pin pal" something I think he/she will like. I haven't ever checked out on Pinpics to see if anything I send is fake. I just know what I like and as long as I like it, that's all that has ever mattered to me. Don't even worry about it. I only said it as a warning to everyone to be careful. Ethan loves his pins and has no idea what the difference is in a real or fake one so he is still happy and that is who I did this for so it is not a big deal at all. :hug:

We should all know the possibilites of what we are getting and be careful of what we pass on in trades.
I know we got some "nontradable" ones from cast members. I don't think they really look at them.
It is a shame those ebay sellers (well, some of them) are taking advantage of people :(

::yes:: I started just buying ones I liked when at the parks......and then buying them at disneyshopping and then the exchangers needed a new host....and I started buying traders for that. Then someone talked me into trading with cast members :eek: And there you go.......600 pins later :rolleyes:

I have 2 of the large pin carriers full and a huge pin with no where to go and a shoe box full of traders.

Don't even get me started on pin trading and collecting being addicting. AI started in 2005 before our first Disney trip with a few pins to take with us to trade after reading about it. Then in 06 when we went I bought about 80 from ebay and the disney store before our trip b/c I knew how much I would want to trade. After we got back from our 07 trip in September I have a total of 185 pins. My goal then was to make that # 300 total pins listed in my pinpics..that was what I wanted. Well.. that was Sept 07 and now in April 09 my pinpics is up to 966 and I am sure I have closer to 1000 b/c there are some I have more than one of and a few here and there that I am sure I forgot to list on pinpics. It is addicting!!! I have 3 pin books full, 2 boxes of Disney Shopping pins that I don't have room for. 2 frames full of my disney shopping pins, and an entire curio cabinet full of pins..not to mention a few here and thre around the house..a lanyard in Ethan's room, my alphabet set in the playroom, half of the state pin set on pin pages waiting to complete it so I can frame it in the playroom as well, etc... It is insane!! (hmm.. I will take pics in a bit to share..)

The pins finally arrived ("apparently" the seller's post office lost 'several sacks of mail' and so he resent). Well, I found that strange that he could resend the exact same pins since one was a limited edition of 200 and guess what... yep its a scrapper. Very poor quality and I am not happy at all :( I have emailed him to complain. Now, maybe the seller didn't know but when he is advertising them as 'genuine disney trading pins from Florida' I take that to mean he personally bought them from Disney and there is no way this one is real so I want to know what he is going to do to rectify it (I want a refund basically).

Anyway, in the meanwhile, I am going to send some pins out to my exchangees tomorrow. I will pick some lovely ones from my traders and hope they like them all the same.

He replied to my message saying there was no way the pin was a fake, that he buys 'in bulk' from the USA and they are all genuine and that I could return both the pins I bought (I got one for myself which does look real thankfully) and he would refund in full.

I replied and said I was sorry but it was definitely fake. That I found it unlikely he would have two of the limited edition pins exactly the same if he's buying in bulk (it was a mystery tin LE200 pin - yeah, you'll just have two of those hanging around!) and that according to pinpics.com you have to look for it not being glossy (this wasn't) etc. I said I didnt' see why I had to return both (since they were both separate BINs) but would return the fake for a refund if he would pay towards postage (esp since they took 2 weeks to arrive originally due to his post office 'losing several sacks of mail' *rolls eyes!*)

So today I see I've been refunded the BIN price of the fake pin (no postage refund) and I've got a snotty mail from him again saying 'have refunded you. sorry you aren't satisfied. I've talked to the guy I buy them from in Florida and he says it is definitely not a fake'. Yeah, believe what you want to believe Mr, I know that is a fake lol!! I'm just not going to reply again and am glad to have my refund. I'm not buying from that guy again ever!!!

Melissa, that just sucks about that seller! I remember once when we bought a Disney dvd off of ebay. This was way back when we first started collecting the dvd's and it was a hard to get one. We got it in and it was an ovious copy. :sad2: The guy wanted us to pay to send it back to him just to get refunded the price we paid..but we would be out the shipping to and from..which was insane. In the end he refunding a partial amount of money and we kept it for the kids to watch.

Hi everyone--I am back from my vacation at WDW.

I got some great pins!

snowwhitesmom sent me two Donald pins (including the Donald baby pirate) and a Donald patch.

ryka's daughter sent me an Alice in Wonderland pin that also has Cheshire cat, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter on it. She also sent me a cute Princess pin with Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. They are just lovely!
