 Hi All!!! I'm back again! :cool1:

I'm starting a PTR for my next Disney Adventure. This is my first surprise trip and because of that, it's the one I'm most excited about! We are surprising DD with a 5 day trip in October for her 6th bday. She is starting school this year and since we normally travel to Disney at the beginning of Sept, she has been told that we can't pull her out of school to go.

My biggest worry right now is HOW I am going to pull it off. You see, I'm a member of the Disboutiqers and it's really hard to hide custom clothes from your child...especially customs that need to be tried on and are CLEARLY Disney-oriented. But I'm going to try!

Our plan right now is to pick up at school on Oct 23rd and take the evening flight out of Boston. Her bday is the 24th. MNSSHP is scheduled for the 25th! The rest needs to be planned! I just can't wait!

If you are a new reader, I probably should introduce myself

 Hi, I'm Kristine. I'm a 32 year old wife/mommy/social worker/scrapbooker/sewer from Boston!

Nice job Jeanne!!! Love the Back to School wardrobe idea but she'll be in a uniform. I'm planning on telling her I'm making stuff for all the Disboutiquers girls right now...but I'm not sure how that is going to go over!

I originally took the pics of the pics because Stacy wanted to see them at one point. I think I was talking about how pathetic it is that those are the only "professional" pics I've had taken of her. :rolleyes1

Just found you and subbied!

I read the other February trippie, but didn't comment. Sorry!! I am so jealous of all the cute little girl skirts. I'd so sport one, even if I am going to be 25 this year. I can't sew, at all, though. Sad story.

I love your zoo pictures; you guys looked like you had so much fun!

I'm planning a surprise trip right now, too. Don't tell DH, but I'm just as excited, if not a bit more, about planning this trip than I was our honeymoon. We've never been during Halloween, so I'm really looking forward to that, too!!

How fun about your surprise trip! You're going to love MNSSHP! It was the highlight of our last trip. If you click on my last full TR and skip to the end (page 17ish) you can see my report of last year's MNSSHP.

Your welcome Kristine. Are you all going to MNSSHP???

Absolutely. It works out well because it's scheduled for the day AFTER Aisling's bday. That way we can do the birthday thing completely on Sat and then do the Halloween thing on Sunday. I'm so excited! I do plan to get to the parks earlier this year though. We didn't get there until right before the party officially started last year and we spent a lot of the party riding rides. I want to get the rides done before 7pm so we have more time to do the party activities.

Oh I will be up at 6:55am on the 90 day mark...ready to roll! I'm nutty like that!! Although I don't know if I want to do a sit down during MNSSHP. We might just do CS so DD has more ride time. She got a little spoiled with the 9 day trip last year. 5 days is a lot to try to squeeze things into!

You ARE remembering correctly! I don't know what I'm going to do. It saddens me to think about it. We might have to give up our trips for awhile :scared1: The Kindergarten teacher isn't as picky so I think we'll be okay taking her out for 2 days. I can't imagine anything more torturous than school vacation week though!

Oh you certainly do....especially since my child gave you a laundry list of things to make her ;) (can you imagine what she would have come up with if she actually KNEW she was going????) I was thinking yesterday that she really only left me traveling day outfit, an AK outfit, and CP outfit. Although I've bought way too much fabric so she'll definitely being getting some sundresses this summer.

Good question! I have so much to look into. Does anyone know if you can get a cake at 1900 PF?

First, I have to figure out a final park schedule. This is what I'm thinking right now. Friday- just hang out at hotel. Sat- MK all day (BBB in the am, 1900 PF at night), Sunday- AK in am/MNSSHP for evening, Monday- Epcot all day for Food and Wine Festival (now I might lose my DH this day because he has a "thing" for chefs and cookbooks and all that- meeting a chef in person will be like a dream come true for him), Tues- I don't know.

I'm having such an issue with this. I would love to let her just chose what she wants to do but how can you do that and make ADRs. We asked her a hypothetical...if you could go to disney and only go to 2 parks what would you chose. She chose MK and Epcot so I got those covered. The thing with MK is that she could go on each ride 10 times and I think we spent 4 days there during our last trip. So Tuesday we could end up doing MK AGAIN or we could try to go to DHS. I'm betting that she would pick MK so I think I'll make an ADR for CP.

Decisions, Decisions...:confused3....Thank God I have awhile :rotfl2:

Yes, you can order a cake from 1900 Park Fair. According to the cake thread, that is one of the best places to get one. But they may be surprised when you remind your waitress of the cake (you called ahead and ordered 2 weeks ago) as you are placing your order. :rolleyes1

Oh I have a friend who has ordered some AMAZING birthday cakes from the Grand Floridian. From what I have seen the pastry chefs there do an incredible job!! I think they are kinda pricey though. The castle is made of white chocolate! They also write "Happy Birthday...." on the plate in dark chocolate drizzle to add to the sugar rush!

From what I've found online the cake is $25...or as much as my DD's meal! But I'm not a big dessert person (I'd rather snack on something later on when I'm hungry again!) and neither is DH so we really don't need a big cake!

But then I saw that they can do some Halloween themed cakes (including a HM one LL!!!) so I could always do that. But at Cindy's dinner at 1900 PF, I'm thinking that the castle would be perfect. AND since I'm hoping to skip the ACTUAL castle entirely this trip....maybe this would be a fun substitute??? :confused3

:welcome: Thanks!

My DH was just wearing a MNSSHP tshirt I made for him. It was way too hot for him to wear anything fun. He had a Red Sox hat on so a lot of people asked if he was going as Kevin Youkilis (who is a player on the Sox). Here's a pic of him

Do you love how he's wearing my Bagallinni because it didn't "go" with my costume :rotfl2:

Okay, even I would splurge $25 for that cake. I know it is really small but I think you are right that a big one is not necessary. I want a volcano thing from TRex after seeing Jeanne's TR.

Okay, so I promised myself no more PTRs... but then I clicked on yours... and I saw you are a social worker (I'm going to school for social work and early childhood education:goodvibes)... and then I noticed your adorable daughter... and then you got me with all those cakes....

Oh well, what's one more thread to keep up with?:rotfl:

I'm thinking of getting my DM a birthday cake for our trip (her 50th birthday) but I can't decide where to order it from yet. Last year for her birthday I ordered chocolate tuxedo strawberries from the GF and they were awesome!popcorn:: The Disney cake service does a great job.

How did I not know about this report yet? Can't say I'm surprised to see you starting it. I was wondering how long you could hold off.

Speaking of cakes-I vote for the castle one too. I secretly wish that Dh would order one for me as a surprise. I've already spoken to my TA about my cake preferences should he call. I'm hoping he does. I keep leaving the TA's number out for him.

I love the Diabetes on a plate remark. Too funny!:rotfl2:

Isn't it so cute?!?!

Here's the cake I got at 1900 Park Fare. (and an awful picture of me). Honestly, we couldn't finish it. :rotfl: I got the chocolate cake and it was sooooo good. We passed it around our table and my sister's so 10 of us had a bite. It was really rich. :cloud9: One of my kids ate the castle, Jayden I think.

The volcano thing did look tempting as well. But clearly too big for a family for 3.

I think I called 1900 Park Fare directly, about 2 weeks in advance, and when I got there they were like "oh, I don't know if we'll be able to have that ready in time" :scared1: apparently it was frozen? They managed to thaw one out in time but the communication was REALLY lacking. I would call in again the morning of to make sure they don't mess up.

I have to agree. For these fun surprise trips, the whole make ADRs 90 days out thing doesn't work too well. I would love to go down there and say to Ash we can do whatever you want whenever you want. But you can't if you want to have a sit down meal at some point.

That's kinda what we've been doing. "Next time we go to BBB, what princess do you want to be?"...."if we ever went to MNSSHP again, what would you dress like" "If you were going to Disney only for two days, which two parks would you pick?" So we have some guidance from her. And it's not that weird because the kid talks about Disney every day just like her mother. She manages to work it into random conversations. So she isn't picking up anything from me asking her!

Here's the best part...she asked if she could have a PLAYDOH themed bday party for her 6th bday! I reminded her that she isn't having a regular party because we are doing something extra fun. SOOO she asked if her "something extra fun" could have something to do with Playdoh. We are staying at POP!!!!! :lmao: 4 times I've stayed at POP and I've always been in the Playdoh building w/o ever requesting it. You KNOW if I request it, we'll end up in a different building :headache:

Because I'm soooo kind and I don't want my readers to make any effort to look for it on their own, I've decided to repost my review of 2008's MNSSHP over here.

(okay it's really because I'm bored at work and have nothing better to do on a Friday afternoon :ssst:)

Well I’ve kept you in suspense enough….

We made it to MNSSHP just fine. When we got back to AKL from Epcot, I insisted that DD lay down and take a nap. I got the costumes ready and got dressed. We didn’t get to MK until 6pm. We did get a couple of stares at the bus stop from the people who clearly didn’t know that MNSSHP was happening at the MK…In early Sept!

I couldn’t get over how fun the park was. I love that they manage to change things around in minutes! Like these guys…they aren’t there during the day!!!

First order of business was a couple of pictures in front of the castle

Seriously don’t know who these people are…but kinda mad that they jumped in my picture!

As you can see, I was Dorothy, DD was Princess Leia, and DH was wearing an iron-on MNSSHP shirt that I made him. Because of the Red Sox hat, he did have SEVERAL people ask him if he was Kevin Youkilis at Halloween. Now I realize that only makes sense to Red Sox fans. But I should mention how much it thrilled him because YOOOOK isn’t the biggest man in the world and DH has lost about 70lbs in the past year so he had a big ego from it all night!!!

Oh and don’t worry…I did have my homemade ruby slippers on

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/926511919605_0_ALB.jpg

Next order of business was dinner. We headed over to Cosmic Rays because it was close and convenient….and I could convince DD to get some “real” food in her belly before the candy started!!!

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/122890919605_0_ALB.jpg

DH went to get the food while we hung out. We started chatting to the nicest ladies next to us. They were locals and were wearing shirts that said “you better be nice to me or I’ll crop you out of my scrapbook”….I NEED that shirt. So cute! They complimented DD’s “Summer” Princess Leia outfit (it’s shortened with white bike shorts underneath and removable sleeves…I didn’t know what the weather situation was going to be)

As I mentioned, I worried all year about MNSSHP. I really, really wanted to go but the practical side of me said that I can’t spend $150 on 5 hours at the MK. It also said that I should purchase tickets ahead of time during Hurricane season because it might rain and completely ruin the party. DH told me to ignore the bad voices and just buy the dam# tickets! So I did. And I can truly say that I haven’t regretted it since. We had PERFECT weather, the entire evening was EXTREMELY fun, and those 5 hours flew by. I had also been nervous about keeping DD out so late and she absolutely would have stayed all night without a meltdown if we had let her. It was truly the highlight of our trip.

So how about some more pics???

Anyway, after dinner, the official party was just getting started. The fun “spooky” announcements started and lots of guest started showing up in costume (I don’t really mean “lots” of guests since we didn’t wait in a SINGLE line during the entire party other than for candy!). Since we were near Tomorrowland, we headed there. We rode the People Mover, Buzz, and did Monsters Inc again.

OH no…that’s just reminds me. I left out a WHOLE part of my last MK day report! I totally didn’t mention our journey into Tomorrowland. How could I have forgotten my baby’s first trip on Space Mountain….BAD MOMMY!!! Well, I recap it quickly. Back on the MK day that involved BBB, we also went to Tomorrowland. We rode the People Mover about 5 times as usual. During one of our trips we noticed that there was barely a line for Space Mountain. DD had been excited all year to ride Space Mountain and was really nervous that she wouldn’t be tall enough. At this point, we knew that she was since she was tall enough for Everest. So we headed in. DD was a little nervous but handled the ride like a champ. She got off of it and said that it was too scary for her…and then about 5 minutes later announced that she loved it. After the excitement of Space Mountain, mommy needed a little break (I had forgotten to take my Dramamine that morning and I was feeling it!). So we headed into the Carousel of Progress. I literally had not been in this attraction since I was little so I really didn’t remember it. DH and DD have never been in. Needless to say…we loved it and have had “It’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” stuck in our head ever since. After that, I still wanted to do something low-key so we went into the Laugh Floor…where AGAIN DD was picked as the “Princess” I was actually quite impressed with Marty for getting DD’s name right when she said it…nobody ever understands her. So again, this year, DH and I had the pleasure of escorting the Princess of Massachusetts around the park for the afternoon.

NOW…back to MNSSHP. After riding some Tomorrowland rides, we headed over to the first trick-or-treat stop

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/196801919605_0_ALB.jpg

We got our candy and decided to move on. While we were crossing the MK hub, we noticed that the Villians Mix and Mingle was going on. We stopped and watched it from the left of the Walt Statue. It was at this point that I realized that I was standing in a PRIME spot for BOO TO YOU. How I lucked out, I can not tell you. But we were standing to the left of the statue, directly across from the opening for Frontierland (AKA the parade route). So I set up my tripod and stood still. I told DH that he could take DD to get a snack but I wasn’t moving. So people actually came and asked if they could stand in front of me (I was on the curb with a tripod for cryin’ out loud…um NO). We only had about a 20 minute wait at that point for the parade so we just waited. DD played with some glow sticks in the mean time

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/906611919605_0_ALB.jpg

We also had the best CM Chelsea standing with us. Since we were on the corner, she had to make sure that nobody crossed the line or got off the curb. But she was so nice and made sure that nobody stood in front of my camera (several additional people came and tried). Here she is:

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/921721919605_0_ALB.jpg

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/953421919605_0_ALB.jpg

Then, without warning…we saw this. The moment I had been waiting for and dreading I wouldn’t get to see….THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN

After the parade, we decided to head off and do some more trick or treating and ride some more rides. My only must do was Haunted Mansion and it was WELL worth it. First off, they had the characters out around the ride itself. They were quite amusing. One character grabbed me and said “yes, Dorothy there IS a place like home” I loved it. Then when we got in the Mansion, all of the guests started chanting the lines to the opening “room-stretching” part. I don’t know who started it or why but everyone joined in and it was such a cool “only at Disney” experience. The CMs working the ride were particularly in character too which was fun. On the way out, they took your picture with the carriage

This is seriously the best fireworks display I’ve ever seen. I can’t rave more about it

After it was over, the 2nd parade was about to start up. We headed over to ride POTC. Another ride that is so much cooler at night! We might have ridden it a couple of times. We did yell out to George and manage to jam the boats! We also had our pics taken

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/mnaahp/893323569605_0_ALB.jpg

After that. we decided to go ride Splash Mountain….over and over and over again (they just let us stay on). It was quite neat because we were the only people on it and every time we went over the falls, you had such a gorgeous view of MK all lit up and the parade going past. I tried to take pictures but they just didn’t come out. I realized afterwards because I had the setting low for the fireworks and forgot to change it…oh well!
At this point, it was getting late and it was time for the Villians Mix and Mingle to have it’s last showing and we didn’t want to miss it. We literally got a spot RIGHT in front of the castle (which is key for you future MNSSHP goers because then you are right up front for the meet and greets afterwards).

I’m really surprised DD wanted to meet these two. We gave her the choice (all the villains have separate lines) and she picked them. Seriously…nothing scares my kid! I would like to make a small request at this point. IF you have the time, please go do a meet and greet with Judge Claude Frollo. Seriously NOBODY went up to him. I feel really bad for him. I don’t think a lot of people knew who he was so they skipped over him. I know he’s villain but have a heart!!!

At this point, it was almost midnight and we decided to call it a night. We were sad that we didn’t get a chance to do more during the party but it’s literally impossible to do it all in 5 hours.

So that’s it…our last night at Disney for 2008. But I do have one more day to write about so, as the ghosts like to say in Disney.

HURRY BAAAAACK, HURRY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK

At least she isn't picking up on your clues yet. I am dying to see what you will all dress as for MNSSHP!! :yay:

I think they should dress up as play dough cans- all different colors , of course! ;)

LOVE your Halloween pics girlie! it's getting me in the halloweenie mood!

Of course I want to know!

Well...as of right now I plan to wear Dorothy again. It was cool and very comfy to walk around in all night. Plus I loved having that basket to throw stuff in!!!

DH will probably have some kind of Tshirt made for him again. He's really fine with wearing a costume so if anyone can think of anthing fun for him to wear that he won't overheat in...let me know.

Aisling is going as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. Her "personal seamstress" Miss Stacy is making her a custom Sally outfit with a big applique of Sally on the front and sides/ruffles will be all the wonky sewed quilt pieces like Sally's real dress. If I'm feeling particularly crazy, I might let her spray her hair red for the night. I will definitely be drawing stitches on her with little makeup. I got red/white Minnie janes for her to wear with it.

What do you think??? :confused3

Thank you! The ruby slippers were a pair of American Eagle shoes that I found at Payless for $4 on clearance. I used scrapbooking spray glue and dumped glitter on them! It worked perfectly!!! And they were so comfy! I almost bought a pair of red crocs. This was way cheaper!

Great idea! I could make Puppy a sheet to be Zero!! He was my Toto last year! Worked out great. We never lost him because he was in my basket all night :rotfl:

You can't really tell but Randy is wearing a Nightmare Before Xmas MNSSHP tshirt. But it says MNSSHP 2008 so we'll have to make a new one for this year ;)

Yes, Stacy and I spent half our Feb trip planning outfits for the next trip! She's making her a Snow White custom too for BBB. Which means...Kristine only needs to make a traveling day outfit, AK outfit, and a Pooh-themed outfit for Crystal Palace. :yay: It also means that I have a rediculous amount of Disney fabric which is NOT going to be used for this trip :rolleyes1

You KNOW if I request it, we'll end up in a different building :headache: Which building is the Playdoh building?

Also...you got some great shots of the headless horseman!

I don't know how I missed you starting your PTR.

What a bummer about your school not wanting them to miss days! Jordan's (my dd's) school is okay with it as long as it is 5 days or less.

Could you tell Aisling that you started making customs for the big give? That would explain you making Disney themed clothes that aren't for her. Jordan knows that I sometimes make t-shirts for kids that are sick and are going to WDW. (BTW - your clothes are beautiful and any of the Big Give kids would be thrilled to receive them)

I really want to go to MNSSHP and your photos are not helping!!! We've been to P&PP and MVMCP. DH is refusing to step foot on Disney property for five years after we took 3 trips in 20 months. We are going to NYC in a few weeks and I am making him go to World of Disney and maybe a show - I figure I have to work him back into Disney slowly.

Love your photos, customs and costumes and am looking forward to the rest of your PTR and TR!

I think I am going to tell Aisling that the outfits are for the Big Give but I'm scared of having to deal with her when I tell her the outfits aren't for her :scared1:

You need to go to MNSSHP at some point. It was just SOOO much fun. I'd love to go to MVMCP next but unless we for a weekend trip :headache: I don't think that's going to happen. Aisling got into the school we applied for (we found out Thursday) and they are SUPER strict about missing any days at all. So this will probably be out last MNSSHP for awhile too :sad2:

Totally unrelated to Disney trips at all...

Today I saw Dirty Dancing (the stage show- not the movie- EVERYONE has seen the movie!!!). If you guys have a chance to check it out, you should. It was fabulous! There were 55 musical numbers. And the dancing was insane. Plus the set design and special effects were AMAZING...they did the "the best place to do lifts is the water" scene. ON STAGE. I still can't figure out how they did it (screens and LCD screens I think).

If you want to donate $25, they can take a picuture of you carrying a watermelon after the show :rotfl:- sadly I didn't stick around to do it so I don't have any pics. But it was a really fun show.

So there is my random recommendation of the day ;):rotfl2:

I saw Dirty Dancing in when it came to Toronto and I really enjoyed it. The only thing I wasn't so crazy about was the lack of live music... but the dancing was great! The last musical I saw was Spring Awakening and I have to say, I wasn't a huge fan. The friend I saw it with loved it though, so maybe I'm just not educated enough when it comes to theater.;)

Oh the guy who plays Johnny was still pretty hot. Not an ounce of fat on this guy. Wasn't the greatest actor in the world but he could move!

Kristine,

Was it you and Stacy who kept seeing the family followed around by the camera crew on the tea cups and then the next day at AK?

If so I saw your people on the TLC commercial thing. I am thinking it was during J&K plus 8 either last week or the week before (or atleast on monday night). It was a what is your family celebrating type promo and they highlighted the family a bit. I have seen a few but I know it was the family you saw! Atleast I am pretty darn sure!

We will miss you by a few days! We are going for the weekend 4/24 - 26.

We have been wanting to take DD on a weekend trip to NYC since she saw Enchanted and fell in love with NYC. I just didn't want to pay the same price for a weekend in NYC as I could for a week at WDW. With the economy right now, we got a good rate on a hotel right in the heart of everything. Plus, DD wants an American Girl doll and if we are going to pay $100+ for a doll I want her to pick it out in person and have the whole experience. So, the timing is perfect!

I think we are going to try to do a show last minute and get tickets at TKTS. With three Disney shows on Broadway, I am betting they won't all be sold out. DD says she wants to see Mary Poppins because she already saw the Little Mermaid Show and Lion King Show at WDW.

Dirty Dancing was one of my favorite movies when I was younger! "I carried a watermelon." One of the best lines from the movie! Of course nothing beats, "Nobody puts baby in a corner."

Oh you are going to have so much fun! We have done the TKTS booth a few times. I will warn you that MP will probably not be up there. Usually only the older long running musicals are available (they mostly have tickets for off-broadway plays). They did have Lion King tickets the last time I was there but they sold out REALLY quickly. If you really want to see MP, go on Mousesavers and see if there is a code and buy the tickets. I got my Little Mermaid tickets for a way better deal than I would have gotten at TKTS.

I saw Dirty Dancing at the Opera House. It won't ruin the movie. It literally was WORD for WORD the movie. I was laughing with my mom afterward that the cast must have had a really easy time learning their lines. I could have performed every role! Well minus the dancing parts :lmao: I could have played Baby when she was clueless at the beginning...well if I lost 60 pounds :lmao: Ok, forget it...I can't be in Dirty Dancing!

Ya, I don't know what the delay is with these two coming to Boston. We usually get them pretty quickly. So away to NY we go! I have to take a week off cuz Aisling's day care is closed so why not go to NY midweek. It's Randy's bday on the 29th and what man DOESN'T want to go to AG Place and Little Mermaid on their 33rd bday??? :lmao:

I haven't booked a hotel yet. I need to get on that. Randy and I usually stay on the outskirts somewhere to save money but since we are bringing Ash, we really need to stay in Midtown...which means lots of $$$! Got any suggestions? I've never stayed in Midtown. I was thinking the Hilton maybe??

When I told DH that the lady on the phone at AG said to allow three hours to tour, he said have fun I am not looking at dolls for three hours and then having dinner there! So I think he may wander around for awhile.

You should check out midtown hotels! We are staying at the Omni Berkshire at 52nd and Madison (3 block to AG, 9 blocks to Times Square) for $185 + tax a night using a discount code. Normal price is $335 + tax per night. When I looked last year, the cheapest hotel that wasn't super far away from the things we wanted to do was around $275 or so.

We have an AG Place here in Boston so my DH is used to it...much to his dismay! He looks around with DD while I buy everything and sneak it back into the car!

It was a special offer on travel zoo about two months ago. If you haven't been on their website, check it out and sign up for their newsletter. I get an e-mail from them every week with the 20 hottest internet travel deals for the week and the Omni deal was one of them.

I've been watching mousesavers for show deals but all the ones I have seen end at the beginning of April. I am hoping for a mousesaver or disney visa special offer. I also found a discount broadway site that I might try.

A friend stayed at the Westin Hotel in Times Square, right across from the Amsterdam theater. I don't know how much that costs though but you can check it out! :goodvibes

I am patiently waiting for Mary Poppins and Little Mermaid to come to Boston too. I know that Mary Poppins just started their Nation tour this month. Fingers crossed that they come sooner rather then later! I know! I super hope it does. DISmeet! :rotfl:

Woo-hoo! :cool1: I am so glad it worked out and it was what you were looking for!

It is funny when you "know" people over the internet. My first instinct for about two seconds was to call you so you didn't miss out on it and then it was like "duh" you don't know her personally and you can't call her.

I just got Little Mermaid tickets today for a decent price - I used the buy one get one for $15 promo but since I only needed three I had to pay full price for two of them and $15 for one. Still a good deal though. We are going to the matinee on Sat Apr. 25. We will have to compare notes after you go.

Oh I'm so glad you got the LM tickets!

Thanks again for letting me know about the deal. I was going to book that Wyndham one that was on TravelZoo but with the taxes it still ended up being like $215 I knew I could do better than that!!!

You know what is really sad? Our Disney trip is going to be cheaper than one night in NY :headache:

I know what you mean about "internet" people. You should have seen us at the DisMeet...if anyone saw our group- they probably would have assumed we were HS/College friends reuniting or something. Definitely not a group of complete strangers meeting for the first time IRL! I called Stacy (SoHappy) last night and didn't even identify myself and then I realized DUH, you should have said your name...you've only met her once!

I'm soooo excited too. I love seeing pics of it. I always seem to learn/see something new. For example, I didn't know that you could get your pic with a ghost until I saw yours. My boys will love that! I am starting to think about costumes. I think I would like to have them all be pirates because they do love pirates and we are doing the 3 night cruise at the end and would like to dress up for the pirate night on the cruise. Good way to kill 2 birds with one stone. Unfortunately I'm not at all talented like you all are on the disney boutiques site when it comes to sewing. My mom is REALLY good sewing and can do almost anything but I hate to ask her for 3 costumes. I'm hoping by some miracle I will find some for a good price and be able to afford them.

Thanks for coming over to my pretrippie!!!! Always glad to see new people over there, I love making new friends...especially disney obsessed people like me,lol.

Ask your mom NOW...that gives her almost 7 months to sew 3 cute pirate outfits!!! Pirates are good because they are lightweight and won't be too hot to wear for Halloween in Florida humidity!

You'll get a separate photopass card for attending MNSSHP. It will give you access all the Halloween borders you saw on my pics. I didn't know about the HM ghost either. I had no clue what it was going to look like until we got home :rotfl: We never made it over to Fantasyland during the party so they might have had some cute photo-ops over there too.

I know! We are going for the whole weekend and although I am excited it irritates me that this will cost close to the same as our 9 day FD trip to WDW! I keep telling myself that we will probably only go for the weekend once so let's make the most of it. When she gets older, we can do day trips which is how we usually go.

Have to share another "Non-Disney" story for the folks who aren't on Facebook. A couple of days ago, my mom invited me to come over tonight with my DD for a surprise. This morning I called her to ask if we were still on and she said that she thought so. She explained that my surprise was being "Fed-Exed" and should be there by 3pm. Um okay. All day long I was trying to figure out what kind of surprise she would have ordered!

So I get to her house at 7pm as planned and as I walk into her house- flashes start going off! My best friend and her daughter...WHO LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO...NOT BOSTON... were sitting in her living room!

Now this is a great surpise for several reasons. One- because my BFF and her husband are amazingly brilliant people who work a gazillion hours a week and normally plan "downtime" and any trips back East down to the second.

BUT it was mostly exciting because NOBODY has ever surprised me...EVER. It's so completely thrilling that I had to share with you all!!!

Thanks ladies...it was a great surprise! Unfortunately I won't get to spend much time with her but that's okay. The surprise was worth it! She's actually here for work- not to visit me- but she thought it would be fun to surprise me that she was here. I saw her Friday and yesterday and won't see her again until next Friday. Her whole family still lives here so I can't monopolize all her time :rolleyes1

Now- I always have a gift for my "neice" when I see her. And of course I didn't have one. So I have until Friday to come up with something good. She's only 9 months old so it can't be anything too fun! Although I am buying her an AG doll for her 1st birthday...cuz I'm over the top like that! Her parents also HATE Disney so it's already planned that Auntie Kristine will be taking her...probably when she's 3 I thinking! Did I mention that I'm over the top :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Jen- you can find me under the Disboutiquers group on FB or I can PM you my real name so you can find me!

What a great surprise to see your BFF! We totally spoil our neices and nephews as well and our friends keep telling us we just need to have our own kids! lol. Someday. I'm totally jealous that you are going to NYC! I've been trying to make it a tradition to go at Christmastime each year but a weekend does cost as much as one week at Disney so we've only been a couple of times. But I do have some friends that live there so I may go for the thanksgiving day parade this year and stay for free! You guys will have such a wonderful time. AG Place sounds so cool! I hope you'll do a mini-TR for that trip. Oh, and I love Ash's princess sunglasses. Tres chic!

How about a little taggie blanket (since I am making 3 right now they are on my mind). But it is something you could do and you probably just need to buy some ribbon to make it (most places sell it to cut also vs the whole spool). Easy enough to carry back with them on the plane also! Or how about an adorable little pillowcase dress (better yet matching blanket and dress). See, that was easy!

Ooh I hadn't thought about the blankie! I could do that this week. I did think about trying to make a pillowcase dress since I can whip those up quickly but she's super tiny so I thought it might look odd. (She's only 18lbs).

This would require a trip to JoAnns...want me to pick up coupons for you Jessica?

How about an Easter update? It's not that exciting...has nothing to do with Disney...but it does include pictures!!! Sorry, we just haven't been that exciting lately ;)

And the best Easter gift ever....to try and tie Disney into this somehow. It's a World of Disney globe showing all the characters where they would reside.

Considering how busy you were last week, I am impressed that you had time to buy an Easter dress. Welcome to the dark side! I did make DD's Easter hairbow that she thought was awesome and told everybody about. She will really be impressed once I try this sewing thing.

Great minds think alike! The Easter Bunny brought Jordan new Disney Crocs and Madagascar 2 too! We better be careful - we may get kicked off the DIS altogether for buying a non-Disney movie.

Love the pics! My Canon Rebel XT has been giving me trouble so I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy the XSI.

Jordan is in countdown for NYC - 9 days.

Don't be that impressed...I didn't buy it either :scared1: Her little friend from school got it for her for her bday in October. My issue with Easter is that every year I buy a frilly dress and every year it's FREEZING so the dress gets worn once for a couple of hours and it's covered up with a winter coat most of the time. So I decided to just have her wear a dress she already owns. I feel bad that I didn't make her SOMETHING though!

What good easter bunnies we have! As you can see, we don't really give her candy. So I might as well give her things like Crocs that I would have had to buy anyway ;)

What's up with your camera???

We still have 14 days until our NYC trip. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather!!

I need pics of the hairbow btw!!!

Thread hijack about to take place. If you are not Kristine, feel free to avert your eyes! :lmao:

It looked like an Eastery dress to me. Although I do buy Jordan new dresses for Easter, I don't buy really frilly ones. I always get ones that can be worn for other occasions.

Great minds think alike! I have been saving up stuff I would normally just buy her and am using it as gifts like the crocs, etc.

My camera is having focus issues which apparently is pretty common with Canons. Low-light and close up are hit or miss. I tried switching lenses to make sure it wasn't a lens issue.

Here is a photo of the hairbow per your request. It was my second bow (made right after the first one).

Thanks for the compliments on the autograph book! I was a nervous since they were my first ones but I am pretty happy with how they turned out.

Yes, Hershey still smells like chocolate!

I only had the camera about 2 1/2 years but it was used hard! It has taken over 6000 pictures and gone to WDW three times. I also take it everywhere and it gets banged up a lot, thrown in purses or bags, etc.

2 1/2 years??? Oh no! You are handling that WAY better than I would have. I need this camera to last more than another year!!! I'm house-hunting right now. I think Randy will divorce me if I tell him I need a new camera.

Well, my camera takes a lot of abuse and it still works I am just a photo snob and get irritated when I get out of focus photos. I ordered the XSi from Amazon and it will be here tomorrow. I only needed the body since I have a bunch of lenses so it was $575. I didn't want to spend the money but I refuse to go on our NYC trip at the end of the week and have some of my photos not turn out.

You just need to move to Central PA - houses are cheap here!

Is Aisling getting excited about NYC? Jordan is so excited - it is her first trip to NYC and she has wanted to go there since she saw Enchanted. We are taking the train in Friday morning and going to AG to buy her first doll and have dinner there. Saturday is Little Mermaid. Then, of course World of Disney somewhere in there and whatever else. Then we take the train home Sunday afternoon.

Oooh you must be getting so excited. Aisling isn't too excited yet because we still have another week and a half. Plus she still doesn't know that we are seeing Little Mermaid. She thinks we are just going to stay in a fancy hotel. I wish that we were going for two nights now. By the time we get there on Wed, we don't have a ton of time before the show after we check into the hotel, change, have dinner. We plan to go to AG Place on Thursday morning at opening. I would love to do the photo studio shoot. Now I have to pick out outfits for Aisling AND her doll!!! She is planning for bring Chrissa so far (the 2009 GOTY doll). She also has Kit and an Asian Just Like Me doll that she tells everyone she adopted from Korea! Miss Claudia has gotten to go to lots of places (including AG Place Boston a couple of times) and Kit got to go see Grinch the Musical so Chrissa gets to go to NY!!!

Don't forget to give me a review of the XSi!!!

Actually :ssst: my football coaching husband has a secret love of Broadway shows!!! ;) I thought he was just humoring me when we were dating but he actually loves them. He WANTED to see Little Mermaid (probably for Ariel's assets but whatever!!!)

Aisling knows what Broadway is because we always tell her that she belongs there. Also her dance teacher is trying to get her into acting.

Glad you like the Vegas showgirl costumes. They are tapping to "I Want Candy" and holding fake bright pink cotton candy. Going to be interesting ;)

My XSi should be here today so I will let you know what I think.

I take tons of digital photos and download them onto my laptop. Then I sort through them and delete the duplicates or bad photos and upload the rest to get printed at Costco. Now getting around to scrapbooking them is a whole other story!

My DH actually likes musicals too but I don't think he is too excited about the Little Mermaid. Though Ariel's "Purple Bras" as Jordan calls them might sway his opinion. ;) I love that Aisling wants to take Daddy to a show for his birthday!

Well, by the dancing bananas I am guessing this is very good news. So, congrats! I friended someone on FB before I knew how exactly it worked so now I can't complain about some of the issues she causes on my wall. Although my parents don't live next door, they watch Jordan every day M-F for me since she was 5 weeks old. Next year, she will be in school all day so they won't need to watch her at all. I know they will want to see her at least once a week and probably more. I am thinking I now have free evening babysitters - woo-hoo! Good luck figuring out your visiting schedule!

The thing about my in-laws is very good news. Let me just put it this way. They just walk into my house whenever they feel like it- no calling, no knocking. They have a key to my house so if we try locking the door, they'll just use their key!!! And that's just the beginning of it.

Yay for you! :woohoo: now the question is, did their house sell? Because I'm looking to buy! LOL :rotfl:

Oooo I'm on FB too, you should friend me! :goodvibes

You guys are house hunting too? Isn't it awful? There are no good houses out there. We are looking if Methuen and there is crap!

They are not selling their house. My SIL and her boyfriend (and other couple :scared1:) are going to live there and pay the mortgage.

Are you friends with LL on FB? I could find you there.

We are. We are hoping to buy before the wedding but with the crap out there, I'm starting to get discouraged :( We are looking in the general 93/495 area which includes Methuen. How funny would it be if we ended up fighting for the same house :rotfl:
I'm not! Hmmm I'll have to go find LL. :surfweb:

I am glad the inlaws will no longer be next door so you can get some privacy back. Will the SIL and the rest of the crew be okay as neighbors?

Another Hijack coming to you live from NYC. . .

This quick report and hijack is coming from the Omni Berkshire Place at 21 East 52nd St.

We are having a great trip! American Girl was fun - Jordan got Kit Kittredge and accessories. She is the doll that looks just like Jordan (none of the Just like me dolls were exactly right). We stumbled upon a fabulous personal shopper named Tom (personal shopping is a free service they offer there) and he was great since we are new to the AG thing. If you need help, ask for him because he was wonderful! Dinner at the AG Cafe was fun and little girl heaven. It is actually a good buy compared to NYC prices for food.

Now to the Disney portion of our trip. . .World of Disney was both great and disappointing. The great part was pin trading. Jordan just got into pin trading on our last trip. I knew you could pin trade at WOD NYC so I got some cheap pins on ebay for her to trade. She is working on a few hidden Mickey sets and was able to complete one by trading with the cm's. They also have a kids pin board behind the counter so be sure to ask about it. The disappointing part to me was the selection of merchandise. They just did not have a lot of the basics that I was hoping for.

Now on to the show - The Little Mermaid was great! All three of us really enjoyed it. The sets, staging and costumes were amazing (would you expect any less from Disney?). The actors and singing were very good too. Jordan thought Scuttle was hilarious and she keeps quoting one of Ursula's lines. I don't want to say too much for those that are going.

Then we had dinner at Ellens Starlight diner. It was recommended to me on the boards and I can see why. Jordan loved it!

We got so much done our first two days - AGP, Toys r Us, FAO Schwartz, WOD, St Patricks, Rockefeller Center and Top of the Rock, Central Park and a carriage ride, Times Square, etc. that I think we are going to spend a few hours tomorrow at the American Museum of Natural History before heading home.

Thanks all!!! I'm glad that it was 90 degrees today and not tomorrow. All set with being on a bus for 4 hours in 90 degree heat!!!

Unfortunately my day care providers ruined the surprise last week so she knows where we are going :headache: BUT, the theatre people will only give tickets to people who behave themselves on the bus :rolleyes1

We tried telling her that we only got 2 tickets so she's going to have to go onstage and perform. Now I wish I had my camera for the look on her face then ;):lmao:

We had a great trip to NY. Can’t wait to take Aisling back and see more of the touristy things. She was just in awe of everything.

Part of the adventure was getting there. I’ve developed both carsickness AND anxiety about other cars hitting me when I’m a passenger (ya, I get it…I have control issues). I was NOT looking forward to driving 4 hours each way to NYC. I looked into flying- which we’ve done before. I looked into Amtrak which was more expensive than flying. I just couldn’t justify the cost of either. So I was talking to a foster mother I work with who’s daughter lives in NYC and she suggested taking a bus. This originally turned me off because apparently, I’m a public transportation snob. The prospect of a bus kinda grossed me out. But not as much as the thought of driving both ways myself.

So we decided to take Bolt Bus. And let me tell you…I would do it again in a minute. It was extremely clean, on-time, had free Wi-Fi, and plugs in all the seats. Plus it was $66 RT for the 3 of us. I figured gas would have cost about $60 and parking at our hotel was $55/night. Needless to say $66 was a way better option. BUT to take a bus from my house means driving to the commuter rail, parking at the commuter rail station, taking the commuter rail to North Station (The Boston Garden for you out-of-towners), walking across the street to jump on the Green Line, Green Line to Red Line, walk out of Red Line station into South Station, walking next door to the bus terminal, and then hopping on the Bolt. Ya…little bit of a process with a 5 year old and all her necessities in tow!!

I only took a pic on the first leg…the commuter rail

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/train.jpg

I would have taken pics on the bus but I was so sick that I forgot. Totally forgot to take my Dramamine BEFORE we got on the bus. An hour later just doesn’t cut it. So I mostly just played on the computer and read a book- which I bought at the bus station when I realized that I didn’t have a book.

Aisling was so well behaved on the bus. She mostly just watched her DVD player which didn’t die after one movie due to the fab plugs in the seats. She had lunch and that was about it. She did NOT nap along the way as we had hoped because we knew that we’d be out late for the show. Instead she fell asleep the SECOND we pulled off the bridge into the city. Needless to say, she wasn’t happy when we had to wake her up a couple of minutes later to walk 11 blocks to the hotel with all our STUFF. She was especially upset that we were making her hold our hands!!! Too bad kid, this is the city!
As we were approaching Times Square and she could see that our hotel was literally next door to that huge Toys R Us, the mood immediately changed. A Toys R Us “in” your hotel (or so she thought!!!) This was like heaven on earth!

By the way, I must at this time give props to Jen (jen1023) for giving me such a great tip on the hotel rate :worship:. We stayed at the Millennium Broadway, which is right in Times Square for $173 including all the taxes. The room is normally about $350/night. I did point out to Randy that we are staying at POP for 4 nights in October and it’s not costing much more than one night in NY!!!

Here is the hotel

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/hotel.jpg

And our room

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/hotel.jpg

Aisling had to throw open the curtains and check out the view

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/Ashwindow.jpg

We could see right onto Times Square from our room. Aisling thought it would be fun later in the night to get completely undressed and stand in that window. I’m surprised we didn’t get arrested. :scared1:

The first order of business was getting freshened up and down to that Toys R Us to ride the Ferris Wheel. I was more than happy to be the photographer. Which reminds me, those photopass photographers like to take your pic but NY is insane. Seriously, they took a pic of us walking into the store. Why would anyone want a picture of them in a toy store??? :confused3

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/ferriswheel4.jpg

After the ride, Aisling had to check out the store. I reminded her that we had Toys R Us stores in Mass but she wasn’t hearing it. This one was “huge” and that’s all that mattered. I did enjoy the Barbie section

Overpriced Barbie anyone???

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/VWbarbie.jpg

I wanted that Elphaba Barbie but they were out of her

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/WOZbarbies.jpg

After that, everyone was getting a bit hungry (read: cranky) so we headed back to the hotel to get changed for dinner and a show!

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/chrissaonbroadway.jpg

We decided to go to Ellen’s Stardust Diner for Dinner. Jen had recommended that as well and she hadn’t steered us wrong with the hotel so away we went. I figured Aisling would love the singing waitstaff. At first she was terrified of them. She thought they were too loud. But get some chocolate milk into that girl and she was all about the show. She made me take pictures every time the waiters got on the tables to sing.

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/oohBroadwaytheatre2.jpg

For LL…had to get a light fixture in there somehow. Although I did get yelled at for using my camera inside!!!

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/LLlight.jpg

The show really was good. I loved it. We had 2nd row center orchestra so we were up close and personal with the cast. Aisling’s favorite characters were Flotsam and Jetsam. She thought they were hilarious. I was most impressed with that kid who plays Flounder. What a talented young man. That kid could sing. So then I was distracted for part of the show thinking what that kid’s life must be like.

After the show, I had a very tired little Mermaid to get to sleep. So a brief hop skip and a jump through Times Square back to the hotel and 30 minutes later, I had two sleeping babies next to me. I stayed up to watch something…couldn’t have been too good.

Aisling was more excited about today than she was to go see Little Mermaid. AG Place NY!!! Now we have an AG Place here in “Boston” (nowhere near Boston but whatever). However, AG Place NY had a doll hospital. Aisling was so excited to see it that I was afraid that she might hurt Chrissa to check it out. (In reality, you can’t see anything…it’s a counter…all the “surgery” is done in the back so that mommies won’t worry!!!) ;)

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/offtoAGplace.jpg

You like those nice clogs Chrissa is wearing??? Well enjoy them because they are gone. Or I should say 1 is gone! We got to the store and Aisling noticed it was missing. Randy jogged 5 blocks back to hotel but of course didn’t find it. In the meantime, I took some pics of Aisling and Chrissa outside the store

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/AGplace.jpg

Look Chrissa has her own billboard

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/AGplace1.jpg

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/AGplace2.jpg

The store opened at 10am and we were there. First order of business was straight up to the photo studio. AG Boston doesn’t have this so we needed to check it out. I kept it as a surprise for Aisling. She was so excited when she saw it. We were the first people up there so we got right in. NOTE: if you are going to do this. Don’t dress your child/doll in green. They use green screen. They color-corrected our pics and you couldn’t tell at all but it would be easier just to wear something else.

The photographer kept commenting how much Aisling looks like Chrissa. Aisling being Aisling pointed out that their looks were not all they had in common- they also both like swimming, crafts, and sewing!!! The woman just cracked up!

Aisling is so excited that she’s on the cover a magazine (I won’t be the person who going to dash my child’s dream and point out that they just put another cover over the real magazine…I’ll leave that for my MIL- who did just that as soon as we got home) :headache:

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/AGmagazine2.jpg

Next was running up and down all 4 floors 5 or 6 times to check out every last thing before we decided what to get. She ended up picking Chrissa’s swim team gear. Ironic purchase for a doll who can’t go in water. :rotfl2:

We were heading to the World of Disney Store when Aisling decided that she needed to eat and NOW.

And she knew exactly what she wanted. A hot dog from the vendors. I really think THIS is what impressed Aisling the most about New York. Hot dogs on every corner!!!

Cleaning up after the Today Show

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/30Rock2.jpg

About this time, those of us who didn’t want to eat from hot dog vendors were getting pretty hungry. So we went to the little deli next to our hotel. Let me tell ya, this place had the most impressive salad bar I’ve ever seen. It had a hot and cold bar, fruit and yogurt bar, dessert bar, and a coffee bar. So if you are ever in Times Square and looking for something quick and NOT that overpriced…check out this place

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/NYC%20Randy%20Bday%20Trip/delisign.jpg

And that was about all for our trip. We headed back to the hotel to eat our lunch and pack up for the long journey back. Aisling immediately announced that next time we go to NY…we have to stay for at least 2 nights!!! And I agree!!!

Hi I just found your PTR and it looks like we'll be at WDW at the same time. Our dates are 10/24-10/31 staying at POFQ. We're planning on doing MNSSHP on either 10/25 or 10/27. I'm waiting for TGM to post his best days chart before we decide. So did you get your tickets yet?? It looks like they went on sale yesterday.

Awesome photos...you've got me so excited for Sunday!! :woohoo:

Too bad you couldn't take pictues of the theater, if not the show.

I'm laughing that Aisling was thrilled with the "dirt water dog!"

Only an hour shopping at AG? LOL, my DD and her cousin kept us in there for the entire afternoon! :lmao:

Thanks for the mini-TR, it was so much fun!

:welcome: Thanks for reading. My DD's birthday is on the 24th! We arrive on the 23rd. We plan to go to MNSSHP on the 25th. I think the Sunday parties tend to be the least crowded because a lot of people end their trips on Sunday. But we went on a Friday night last year and it wasn't crowded at all! I haven't bought tickets yet. I need to get on that this weekend!

Well since we had already done a lot of what AG has to offer an hour was a LOT. She kept changing what she wanted and then would decide she wanted something on a whole other floor!

I wish I could have taken pics of the show. I kept thinking "hey I have a DSLR and wouldn't be using a flash...why can't I take a couple!"

Just a quick drive-by post to say thanks for the shout-out and to say I am so glad that you liked the hotel and Ellen's. Sounds like a great trip!

Ok just read your NYC trip! How fun!!!!!! I am shocked you made it out of AG place in only an hour! Last time we went to the one in Chicago Nikki took 2 hours! Poor Pa and Kyle waited outside the whole time!

How come I didn't know about this pre-trippie? Don't I get to be in on the planning? I might just have to go off and pout!!!

Uhhhhh......I feel soooo bad....how did I miss this???? I just found this thread today....three months after you started....I have been following on facebook.....and I had no idea you were doing a pre-trippie?!

Soooo, I loved your trip with pics to NYC. I am too askeered to go to the city. But it looked like you had a great time!!!! I would have strangled your MIL for ruining the cover page thingy...seriously....what's that point of saying such mean things...I vote for not visiting her at all! And when she asks why...tell her her rude comments hurt! Ok vent over...grrrrrr!

So congrats on your airfare!!! We booked a few weeks ago on a new carrier that is coming to our local airport. Well, the carrier isn't new, just that its now at our local airport.

So what else is on your to do list??? How are the customs coming along? I have to start again on mine. I stopped while completing the big give and birthday gifts. Oh and now we have the super secret sewing club outfit...but after that I will get going again.

Are you getting a stroller? Or do you just get one at the park? Or does Aisling walk the whole time? Where are you staying again??? Who are you meeting with??? Come on girl...we need details!!! :rotfl:;)

Guess I didn't advertise enough on the Disboutique that I was doing a PTR!! I haven't sewn a thing yet :scared1: But since are only going for 5 days and we are re-using two customs from last year, I really don't have a ton to do.

We have a Maclaren Triumph so we will bring that. Aisling will probably need it at night. I'd rather not deal with the meltdown if she gets too tired to walk. And I'm definitely not paying park rental prices.

I do have to put my list together again of everyone is going that week. Right now I know that Kathy (Kjbrown), Crystal (Tinka_Belle), Kelly (kstgelais), and Laura (abc123mom) are planning on going that week.

So why are you scared of the city? Just the number of people? Or getting lost?

WOOO HOOOOO for flight!!

Do you always fly Southwest?

We have been flying JetBlue for a couple of years now but when JetBlue got rid of their "no change fee" policy and started charging for baggage, I decided to do SW. I've flown SW a bunch of times, including to MCO in February. With Aisling it was nice to have the tvs and to be able to check in at the hotel but not at the additional costs.

We've never gotten in free yet but there's always hope. ;) So funny you said that. Last year at MNSSHP, several people asked Randy if he was going as Youk for Halloween because he was only wearing a MNSSHP tshirt (with a Red Sox hat). And then this weekend, my MIL was going on and on and on about how ugly Youk is!!! I kept thinking: you better not let Randy hear you say that!!!

Hotel was fab! It was such a great spot. We walked EVERYWHERE. I thought we might need to take a couple of cab rides but we never did.

We didn't end up going to WOD. :sad2: Next time I guess.

Your NY trip sounds great!

My DD would love to go to AG. In fact there are a bunch of Mom's I know that are talking about going down to Chicago (our closest one if you call a 10 hour drive close). So today I called a bus company about renting a bus. Don't know if I have $4,500 plus the drivers hotel to do it though. So back to the drawing board.

1000th post!

Aren't you excited that you were selected for this honor? :lmao:

I owe you a long post with comments on your NYC trip. This is the first day I have spent much time on the DIS in a week. (Don't you hate when life gets in the way of the DIS?)

I have a few quick comments . . .

Your MIL makes me go :headache:! How dare she ruin Aisling's AG cover, just walk into your house, and everything else she does.

I can't believe Aisling is 48"!!!! That is so great that she can ride everything! I think Aisling and Jordan are only about 6 weeks or so apart in age (Jordan will turn 6 on Sept 10th). Jordan is only about 43" - maybe 44". Thanks for the FB congrats on her first lost tooth. The second is about to go any day now.

More comments to come later on your NYC mini-tr and photos (try to contain your excitement) and I may hijack your thread again and post a few of my photos (if you don't mind).

1000th post on my little ol' trip report!?!? :worship::worship::worship: Why thank you!

Aisling is very big for her age. She was born 6 weeks premature too (and was still 6 lbs 4 ozs!!!) I can't' keep up with her. Her school uniform runs 6-8 or 10-12 for next year. I think I'm going to have to order 10-12 tops or they'll be belly shirts by the end of the year!!! She has a tooth that has been loose for like 2 months. No action yet though! I hope she loses it here and not at summer camp.

Post away with pics. I welcome all pics and comments :thumbsup2

I'm a bad, bad, bad PTR writer!!! Sorry folks. Life has gotten in the way! I've been sick with some kind of broncchial thing for almost two weeks. I sound a lot worse than I feel but it's finally starting to get better. Still can't exert too much energy or I sound like I have asthma.

We've also been stepping up the house hunt and I've been going to viewings after work. I don't wish this process on my worst enemy. What a big pain! It was fun at first but now I'm just frustrated that I'm never going to find a house I like.

Saturday is Aisling's recital so I'll be boring you with more pics of my little ballerina soon!

Still loving those costumes! Very vibrant.

Glad to hear the recital went well. Ours isn't until the first weekend in June. I haven't even seen the costumes yet.

As I type, Eeoyre is dancing around the living room to the music from Cirque we bought last trip. He doesn't like me watching so he has set up a sheet in the doorway. He thinks I can't see him anymore with it up. But I can see his shadow when he's against the picture window. Anyhow my point is, (you didn't think I had one did you?) that it doesn't really matter what they are wearing, or where they are it's just amazing to watch your own child dance. It takes my breath away each time.

I do not look forward to keeping my house perfect and having to get us and the dog out of the house for showings.

So did you survive the drive today okay?

I posted this on the Boutiquers thread but my Michaels had all of their Disney ribbon on clearance for $1.00 a spool (it is normally $3.99). Just a heads up in case any of you are interested.

Time for me to get off the pc and chill! DD is sleeping over at her grandparents so I have been working like crazy on getting stuff done here since I got home from work.

Thanks Jen! How nice to have a break from the grandparents. My mom is fabulous about that! She has a place in Maine for the summer so she takes Aisling for a couple of weekends and for the whole first week of August.

I did survive the drive. It was a little rough. I'm so anxious, I can't eat so the no food didn't help! Plus I drove all the way to the Cape and my client didn't show up for her visit with her son! Fabulous. We were meeting at a restaurant and since she didn't show...you know who got stuck with the bill. You know how much a 19 year old boy can eat :scared1: So I drove all the way there, didn't show, and it cost me $30 for feed her son lunch!

Love the recital pictures!

I remember reading that you have issues with motion sickness so that really stinks that you had to drive all of that way for nothing! I can't believe the mom stood her son up!
