BLT Founding Member Status!!!!

Our guide called today to tell us we are FOUNDING Members!!! We were on the waiting list and it came through!!!!:cool1: :banana: :yay: :dance3:

I can't tell you how excited this makes me!! We had to submit our tile within two hours. Can you tell me what happens since we are founding members now??!!

I think I remember reading we get a tile?? Is there a certificate or something that we should get also??

TIA, I love that all you dis experts help me learn so much!! Unfortunately we didn't think to ask our guide these questions as we were too excited lol.:rolleyes1

We are also BLT owners. I would also like to know when you purchased. We purchased in Nov. 2008 and never heard anything about founding status. I am just curious. Is it something separate that you apply for?

I'd love to know too. When we did our add on of BLT in January I was told that there were no more tiles.

Hi everyone, we bought in Jan. prior to the minimum add on change that occured. We were on the waiting list to obtain founders status. I think we were number 3.:confused3 .
Our guide called yesterday and said we got founders status!!! We had two hours to submit our tile request.
Unfortunately, I NEVER thought this would come through so I didn't pay much attention to what happend with founders status. I thought I read that you get a tile like your tile in the fountain. I'm not totally sure about this though I am curious.
So....if anyone knows I would love to learn more!!!:goodvibes

I think I heard that founding member was initially only for existing members of other DVC resorts who added on at BLT, then it was later opened to new members. So, could be that once they reached the FM max, the wait list may have only been available for add ons?

I believe a founding member was for the first 1,000 people to buy (I think that was the number) . Sales were first open to existing members and then open to public. I am sure some people signed up to join and then backed out before going to contract. The people on the wait list would then move up to be included in the first thousand.

There will be a fountain at BLT with the names of founding members on it(each about the size of a business card I believe). I am not sure if we get a tile to keep as well. I know the founding members at AKV waited a long time to get their momentos.

Hi All,

I called my sales person today and she has placed us on a waiting list for founders status. She never mentioned it when we were buying a few weeks ago but if you are still interested in founders status call your DVS rep and get on the list....then keep your fingers crossed.

Hi Della, we were already owners at AKV. When we bought or blt contract we asked about founding member status, found out we could go on a waiting list and did then. Whether we get a tile or not it doesn't matter really, I just think its fun to be able to say I'm a founding member.
