I just received my first check reflecting Obama's:worship: tax cut. I received a $5/week raise!!! OH BOY!!! Just think about all the "stimulating" that's going to do! Even THD gave me a larger raise than that and that's with only working 15-20 hours a week!!:scared1:

Too bad I'm not a "Big-Wig" with AIG!

Send it to me - it'll buy a 6-pack. Some of the AIG people are sending the bonuses back. What a joke.

You would never lower your standards to drink $5/six-pack beer. And yeah....sure they are sending their bonuses back. Heh-heh, sure they are!:happytv:

We'll be there spending our $5 at the Fort in June too. Maybe I should get it in pennies, it'll seem like a lot more. See you there!

It's a darn shame they don't have the Penny Arcade on Main Street any more,
we could feel like we're gett'n a real bargain with 500 pennies.

Yep! Department 90 in store 0248! I just had my first year anniversary. I took the job last year in addition to my full time job to make ends meet when my DH was unemployed. He is since working (thank God), but I'm hanging on to it just in case. Actually, I love working there. We have great employees & 99% of the customers are a hoot! THD is a super place to work - the pay isn't the best - but it is more than what I'd expect for a cashier - so I'm happy. What department are you in?

Well, I've been with THD for almost 7 years. I'm in HR, was at the Store Support Center until around the time of the massive layoff in January...I am with the RSW subsidiary now. Good to see another orange-blooded coworker on here! :-)

The only "casualty" in our store was our LP manager. It worked out well for him though. They re-hired him & put him in bookkeeping. He's adapted very well, and I was glad he was able to return. He's a super guy, and his other alternatives were unemployment or finding a job in either Tampa or Orlando. That would have required a large commute. I did that for about 6 years (even 4 months from FtW to Tampa - long story and about 70 miles one way) and it's no fun!

Go Orange!!
