I often read on here that people book the Cheyenne because it has bunk beds and that solves a problem with older brother/sister having to share a bed.

Just out of curiosity, I wondered if anybody else does what we have (quite frequently) done, where Dad and son share bed and Mum and daughter share bed? Is it something that other people would dismiss out of hand?

Perhaps you're all still at the honeymoon stage and can't bear to be apart or maybe there is something else I haven't thought of, or maybe we're just strange (quite possible :lmao: )

I share the bed with Kyra when we don't stay in the Cheyenne.

I remember the HNY had 2 big beds but DD slept in the same bed as i did instead of having a bed to herself.

I'm a single parent so maybe my comment doesnt vouch for much :lmao:

We did what you did the past couple of times we were there. I shared with Louise and hubby shared with Adam. I would've shared with Adam but I didn't want to sleep next to yet another snorer :rotfl:

We have done it but if we get a chance would rather not
We finally stopped staying in the NNY because of this and moved to the HI.

We play 'musical beds' in our house anyway, so our sleeping arrangements are pretty fluid.:rotfl: I am a light sleeper, baby DD still doesn't sleep through and DH slept through the last two earthquakes to hit the Midlands.

At the DLH, I slept with DD(1), DH slept with DD(9) and DD(4) slept in the travel cot.:confused3 My honeymoon period is well and truly over.:lmao:

I'm quite happy to share a bed with my daughter, i do it all the time when we stay at dad's as he's a double and a single room spare......but put my two in a bed together and they push each other and wind each other up over bed space! Thing is when my daughter is with me, she doesn't move so I guess it's a sibling thing.....

On our trip to the Cheyenne in July, I'll be in the room with my two scamps, while dad/step mom are next door. There is no way I am sharing my holiday bed with my daughter though as I'm being selfish LOL. Dad and Letty refuse to share with my son as he fidgets all night, and my daughter snores like a train (she having an operation to open her airways next month, part of the reason we're all going as a family) so they won't have her either. The kids regularly sleep over at theirs but in separate rooms and they love having them, just not in their beds/room.

The Cheyenne is the way to go, I have industrial strength earplugs in case the operation isn't as successful as we'd like, and my son in on the top bunk so if he moves to much I'll just push him out*

*I won't really, I'll just watch him fall ha ha ha ha. It's ok, he sleeps in one at home :lmao:

Last time we stayed at DLH Granny got a big double bed all to herself (Granny snores :rolleyes1) and I ended up sharing with both DD's (3 & 12)

well, we get a bit stuck with 2 boys lol they are both fidgets, but then dh says i am too!!!

when we end up with double beds, it means i get ds2, and dh gets ds1, but i get the raw deal and ds2 really fidgets as for a 3 yo can take over a double bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hence loving cheyenne with their bunks!!!

and honeymoon period?? whats that???????????? think i musta slept thru that ;) :lmao:

oh toodles!!!

We picked the Cheyenne in Nov 08 for the bunk beds. Going to the SL in Sept 09 as that was the cheapest option for our dates. Would prefer bunks but I'll be sharing with DS (less fidgety) and DH will share with DD

Our children have always slept together until our last vist to disney. My DD (7) refused to sleep another night with her brother (5) as there had been a lot of legs arms flailing (not on her part), the previous night and she was convinced she had not slept a wink :rolleyes1

My DH and myself did not hear a thing as we completely beat from the day in the park

Thankfully we had a suite in the dreamcastle and we had 2 superking sized beds so DS ended up with me and DH for the remainder of our stay and he slept like a baby.

I am convinced my DD just wanted a huge bed to herself:rotfl:

We are staying in HNY this time so not sure what we will do yet.

We stayed at the cheyenne - DH slept in the bed, DD 2 in the bottom bunk and me in the top bunk!

We have a super kingsize bed at home and there was no way me and DH fit comfortably in a double.

It's a little bit more awkward for us as ds1 is 24 and refuses to sleep with ds2 who is 10. I don't think ds1 would be very impressed if he had to sleep with his stepdad. We usually stay at dcr ds1 sleeps on the sofa bed ds2 sleeps in double bed with me and OH sleeps in the bunk bed. (and you thought you were strange, Hildsmurial):rotfl:

musical beds in our house or holiday !!

Im frequently in my bed with Madelane and daddy goes in her bed and that way we all get a fab nights sleeps as Im not listening to him snoring and he doesnt disturb Madelane when he goes to work.

On Holiday one of us will end up in the same bed as Madelane but it doesn't bother us....it suits us fine.

Whe we go anywhere we use a blow-up bed. The kids ones called ready beds. They come in a bag with a pump and have a built in sleeping bag and pillow. The bag is pretty small considering what it holds and rather lightweight.

They usually argue over who is going to sleep in the blow-up bed as they both want to!

I often share with Kacee as he hates sleeping in baby cot's now that he has got his "Big Boy Bed" at home.

I think it's very normal, although Ellie is going to have to share with Macklyn as I'm not having both boys in my bed!!

My 2 just don't like sharing whether it's with each other or one of us. In fact youngest says he doesn't even want to share a room with us again, as both me and Rob snore :rotfl:
In our defence we did both have colds and he's a fine one to talk - think of the Sid the Sloth sleeping scene in Ice Age, that's him.

It's not snoring................... it's loud breathing.

My snoring nevers bothers me, just everyone else.

We also share. I see no problem with it. Although I am Sure that my eldest will in a couple of years time. If they still climb in my bed at home on a week end they can share when we are away. lol

when it was me, dbf , DD and my sister at the HNY I shared a bed with my sister and DD shared with her Dad. When its me, DD and my sister I share a bed with DD and my sister has one to her self. DD is looking forward to having a double bed to herself when we go to WDW just the two of us.

I know several females who snore so it's not just males :rolleyes1

One of them even cleared several people out of the communal sleeping room with her snoring it was so loud :lmao:

I went on a school trip to Paris and shared with a female colleague. I couldn't understand why people were reluctant to share with her...until I heard her snore. I had my walkman on (it was a long time ago) at full blast and I could still hear her. She is without doubt the loudest snorer I have ever come across.

DS n° 1 is 22, DS n° 2 is 15 and they were not amused when i said they had to share a bed at the SL.

They did the first night and we then had an horrible day because DS1 claimed he had had a sleepless night because of his brother tossing and turning.
So the second night i shared with DS1 and my partner Brian shared with DS2 and ended up sleeping on the floor because DS2 tossed and turned.
Third night: i shared with DS2 and slept all night long even if he tossed and turned but mum's a always different you see and men just like to moan :rotfl:

Anyway the end of the story is: NEVER again a double bed for my lovely sons.

when I travel with my mom and there are two beds, we each have ours, if there is only one bed, we share (except for the sheets/ covers: I claim all of those :D )

When I went to DLP with my brother, we stayed at the Best Western and ended up in a 1-bed room. I don't mind sharing a bed with him, it's not like we have never done that before when we were younger, and besides, he is in a different demographic group, so it all worked out well (except for the fight for the sheet/ cover, I claimed it all too)

It used to be boys to one bed and girls to the other: though this time brother is not attending trip so I get a double bed to myself in Sequoia :cool1:

We've never done it, but definitely would if we wanted to stay at another hotel and DD and DS didn't want to share a bed. At SL in January they didn't bother, mustn't be old enough to care yet :rotfl: . As it happens we prefer the Cheyenne anyway, but we also fancy trying the HNY, so we wouldn't let the lack of bunk beds put us off.
