A Facebook "did you know" sort of thing

For those on Facebook, I am sure you have noticed the new format. :rolleyes:

Did you know that if your friends are "fans" of something that it will come up on your "Highlights"? Did you know if you personally are not a fan of that thing that there is no way to hide/block/or delete that thing?
You can get things off of the news feed, but the things in your "Highlights" are permanent. So if they are objectionable, offensive, or completely inappropriate for children who might be passing by the computer monitor, you are stuck with it! I have to scroll my page or keep an IM box open to try to obscure the stupid "highlight".

This is a problem for me. I hope if you guys are having similar issues that you will tell FB about it. I have messaged them twice and they are ignoring me.

People keep saying that it's totally new, but I can't seem to see all the drastic changes? I saw very small changes, but can someone explain the big ones?

If I don't want something in my highlights I should be able to hide it, no harm, no foul. Not everybody is going to have the same fan pages as their friends, so I can't grasp the logic behind NOT having a function to hide or delete pages you aren't going to join. It just doesn't make any sense to me. :confused3 Yes, I see that some of my friends enjoy that page, thanks for telling me. I think Facebook's whole interface in crappy.
Very un-user friendly - no matter What you're trying to do.

Mine are all down the right side, and for some reason that particular one is always near the top. So if I want to see the new stuff on my news feed I have to read it REALLY FAST while I try to scroll low enough to get past the highlight. :rolleyes:

(I never remember joining that fan club but hey what the heck?) Anywho... after I "un-fanned", it didn't show up anymore (Its former home was right between some pics of my grandbabies and it DID kinda stand out like sore thumb...)

Mine tells me 2 of my friends are fans. I haven't ever been a fan, though I did click on it to see if the page itself had a "block" function. It does not. I have dragged the mouse all around the highlight trying to get an "X" to pop up - no luck. I have right clicked to see if I can delete it - Nope. Apparently it is going to stay there, and I will have to keep scrolling and opening IM boxes to hide it. :headache: Stupid Facebook!
