Hi Kathy

We have a category 11 so I'm not sure if we have a split bath or not. Personally I am NOT a fan of the split bath. Much rather have one slightly larger bathroom than the split.

And yes, we made it to the M&M store (girls went twice and me once). It is really cool!

Hi Jeff,
we loved the single bath better than the split. It si a lot larger so your not so crowded and with just 2 of us we cans till easily get dressed for dinner and such.

Glad you made it to the M&M store I have seen many photos of it and on the food network too.

HI everyone.

Glad you are home safe and sound Kathy. I hope your mom is feeling better soon. And I'm with you about the no sleep. There is no way I can survive without sleep.

Jeff - Glad you had fun in NYC. And yes, the M&M store is very cool. You were very close to my office. If you walk up 48th street, the entrance to my office was half way up the block towards 6th.

I'm off to see The View now! DH and I will both be there in green shirts. Look for me! Oh yeah, that's right. You don't know what I look like. Hmm, here's a quick description - I'm the good looking one!! :teeth: :rotfl2:

Good Morning All! Jeff sounds like you had a terrific trip!

Kathy, I hope you slept well last night--in your own bed. :woohoo:

Suppose to be close to 70 here today! Back to reality tomorrow, but we'll take it!

Have a great day everyone!

We're back from The View. If anyone ever goes - wear comfortable shoes. They make you stand for hours, literally. The guests today were Gary Sinise (very small), Jay Mohr (just what he looks like on TV) and Dr. Drew Pinsky from Celebrity Rehab. Of course as a free gift we get a copy of Dr. Pinsky's. It's stupid. Even the guy handing it out said we didn't get good gifts.:rotfl2:

Otherwise Whoopi and Joy were funny. Sherry is exactly what she looks like on TV and Elisabeth is a lot less annoying in person. They filmed Joy in some shots for Thursday's show. My DH was directly behind her. So everyone DVR Thursday's show. When they show Joy in the audience, the man behind her is DH and I am to the right of DH (looking at the screen - which of course that's what you'll be doing :lmao: ). Sorry, it's been a long day. We're both in green and remember, I'm the good looking one!! :thumbsup2

Only bummer was that they didn't sign autographs after the show. Not quite sure why but they did need to film the Joy bit and then the bit with the poodles for Thursday's show as well. And let me tell you, those poodles were useless. :sad2: They didn't do anything they were supposed to do. I don't know how many they end up using but they started with 3 of them. They kept being removed because they were misbehaving. Can't wait to see what they do with them on the show on Thursday.

Off to dance class (for DD - not me). Hope everyone is having a good day. :thumbsup2

Morning Allison & Dawn,
we are cool but have nice sunshine too.

Good and bad news here today.
Good is really good. My moms new meds must bestarting to work. She had no night attacks for 2 nights and only 2 minor ones during the day. That is wonderful if you knew what she has been going through.

Bad news well first the frig went out. I didnt go to it all day so didnt know it.
water all over inside and lots of spoiled food and food I threw out just in case. Dont want to take chances. I just stocked up meat int he freezer part. a couple of packages were still solid in the back fo the feezer, everything else had to be thrown out:sad2:
ALMOST $1100.00 TO FIX IT:scared1: New ones are another 5 to 6 hundred dollars. Should have the part in 2 or 3 days.
so I had to buy and ice chest and block ice to save what I could, not much:mad:

Next bad thing was today Pixie fell backwards out of the RV when she was jumping into the RV after a potty break. She caught the inside of her back leg and made 2 nasty gashes. There is still fur and skin on the edge of the step:sad1: So I had to clean her up, then put Neosporin on it heavily. Vets say thats the only med that if the dog licks it, it wont hurt them. Then wrap gauze around it to keep her from licking it or biting at the hanging skin and meat of her leg. Then I had to cut the toe off a small sock and slide over the bandage to help keep it in one place.
I need to watch really hard for infection now. She is hurting but now sleeping.

what a morning it has been:worship: :worship: :worship:

I am so ready for a cruise!!!

Hope your all doing well.

Allison I thought I was the only good looking one around here. Nice to know there are 2 of us now:thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Off to try and destress for a bit,
I'll check back later,

Glad you mother is doing better!!!!!:thumbsup2 I'm sure that is at least some stress off of you. Sorry to hear about the frige and puppy...:sad2: When it rains, it pours. Hope her leg heals and she doesn't have any problems.

Jeff, sounds like you had a great time in NY. I'm sure you bought all your nannahead buddies a treat at the M&M store....just let us know if we all need to send you our mailing addresses!!!!!:rotfl:

Allison, I have always wondered what it would be like to see a show being taped. Other then the hours of waiting, sounds like it was fun.

Dawn!!!!!! Glad to see you jumping in right off the bat on the new thread!!!!! Now I won't have to sick Kathy on you!!!:thumbsup2

Thought I'd pop in and see what was happening.

Kathy, sorry to hear about your misfortunes. :sad2:

Hope Pixie's leg heals up ok.

Some friends of our had to replace the fridge in their RV last year....NOT CHEAP!! :scared1:

All the snow around here is almost melted. Suppose to be around 55-60 degrees for the next 3-4 days...that will feel good. :thumbsup2

We almost hit a record high for yesterday! Missed by one degree. It was 72 here! It felt wonderful!

Morning everyone,
well I am pooped today. I didnt want Pixie to lick or bite at your gashes or pull off the dressing that have medicine on them, so I slept on the couch with her beside me.:scared:
That was a real trick, of course sleep is not what i DID MOST OF THE NIGHT.

3 times she woke up and tried to get at the sore so its good I was there. I don't want her to get it infected. I think she is enjoying all the extra pampering:rotfl2: But then Minnie gets jealous, so I have to pamper 2 dogs:rolleyes1

We do have some sunshine this morning headed for 50 if we are lucky:thumbsup2
Dawn, I hope Stephanie gets better soon.

well I am off to take the girls for a potty break and will be back later. I think I need to throw away more food that the ice chest isnt keeping cold enough:sad2:

It is sunny here today, but still a little cool. At least the rain is gone.

Howdy do all,
well i cooked off all the meat that thawed out before it spoiled. way too much for us to eat so for lunch both dogs got a burger and a cube steak. At dinner tonight they each got a sirloin steak too. They sure have it rough dont they:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Tomorrow will be the same I'm sure.

They did come and fix the frig late today but cant use it for a few hours. It will take that long for it to get cold the first time.

I was just starting to doze off when they came to fix it. They were suppose to call first so I could prepare the area for them but they didnt. Oh well, glad its fixed.:thumbsup2

Catch you guys tomorrow.

we got sun today too, 60 degrees:goodvibes

Kathy - Glad the fridge is fixed. And I'm sure the puppies are praying for it to break again. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Dogs have such rough lives. :lmao:

I tried to post last night but I have this cat that constantly jumps up on top of the computer tower (hides from the puppy) and every time he lands up there he hits the power button. I swear I'm always typing a replying to a thread when the computer starts to shut down.
I'm beginning to think its the cat's way of telling me to go to bed and crate the puppies for the night so they leave him alone. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just get so frustrated that I just leave the thing off and go to bed. Darn cat. :headache: :rotfl:

Morning all,

well we have a very foggy day today. But at least the rain is suppose to hold off for another day:goodvibes

My pups will be feasting for another 2 days on hamburgers, Greg too:lmao

My frig works great but it sure looks empty Looks like i need to go to the store and fill it up this weekend.

We have more good news here, looks like unless something changes fast Greg will be laid off in a week. Now we are going back to Florida this spring so that isnt too bad but if he could work until the end of the month we will have another quarter of unemployment. If he is laid off in a week, we will miss that by just a few days:sad2: I am hoping he can make it to the end of the month, that was our goal all along and to fall one week short will be very frustrating!!

Ok enough complaining;)
Pixie's leg is looking good today and we finally got a bandage to stay put on her leg. So now i dont have to watch her every minute of the day.

I was going to make cookies today but since I dont have any eggs that will have to wait. I have to buy a lot of things for that empty frig soon.

Hope your all having a good day, I can't believe the week is about over already. Time is really flying by.

Dawn, How is Stephanie feeling today?

Greg how is Brayden doing now? Hope he is eating better.:cloud9:

Brantley, well you guys are doing too well to worry about you right now.:lmao:

Jeff, Your probably getting ready for another vacation:goodvibes

Wow, all day without a post! Where is everyone?

Kathy, Stephanie is much, much better. She took Kofi off my hands today! Last night, I could barely move. After watching Kofi and Elizabeth for 12 hours, I felt every muscle in my arms, back and legs! I must have been pretty bad because both boys as they got in the car asked me if I was still achy! Glad Pixie's leg is healing fast!

I don't ever remember losing my refrigerator but we have lost the freezer. BIG time expensive to stock up again!

Are you going to come back to Florida early if Greg is layed off?

Hello all!

I woke up this morning with a slight head cold that has escalated to a full blown cold/flu....I swear my head is going to explode!

Brayden is doing much better (thank goodness) because I don't have the strength to doctor myself and him too. Its been warm enough the past few days that he and Holly have been going outside to play.

I guess I'll go back to bed and wait for my sinus meds to kick in.

Good night.

Dawn, it sounds like you need to meet my friends Mr. Ben Gay:lmao:
Sorry to hear you have sore muscles. That is really miserable.

We will probably go back early if we can find a cheap place to live in the RV until June 1st. Most parks we found were 5 to 8 hundred a month plus electricity. we pay 300 here plus electricity. We know of a place near Kissimmee that someone gave us the name of and they do take dogs for 300 a month. Plus he wants to get his unemployment started before we go in case there are any problems that creep up. We want our tax return in the bank before we go, so it would still be the end of April if we go early.

That is something we will just have to discuss when the time comes I guess.
I am still hoping another contract will come through so he can work a few more weeks.

Hi all!!

The day has been rather quiet. Took the RV to the shop for my DH's hydraulics that he has been begging for. He will have them in a week. He is so excited. :rotfl:

Then back to errands, picked up DD after a slumber party. She came home and passed out. Slept for 4 hours. Missed 4:30 mass which isn't normally bad but she was supposed to altar serve today. :rolleyes1 I'll have her explain to the priest. (Sorry Father. I was up until 3 a.m. chatting with my friends.) Good thing he's leaving at the end of the school year. :rotfl2:

So DH napped, DD napped and read my kindle. I love that thing!!!

And then I taught DD how to sew. She made one pillow and is now waiting on me to get the machine back out. Off to get the machine! Have a good night all.

I went along as security because there were alot of hoax emails about gang initiations that were suppose to happen at Walmarts. I do not know if you guys got any of those or not. Are you planting a garden?

I love having a garden but in Florida due to extreme heat, humidity and millions of bugs you need a greenhouse to be successful. So I U-Pick from the farms when I can. we have awesome blueberries 2 minutes from our house and after they are harvested he opens it up for U -Pickers. Plenty of good berries left and really cheap.

Plus we have 2 farmers markets near by with good fresh stuff at great prices.

Long time. VERY busy around here. I was in Dayton over the weekend watching NCAA basketball. My Pitt Panthers are in the Sweet 16 this weekend in Boston. Unfortunately I can't go due to other obligations but I will be glued to the TV.

We are heading to WDW and on a 3 night DCL over Easter and we have to really get ready for it. And we are heading back in June and haven't made a single dining reservation for that one. Gotta figure out a plan.

Yep, I have a big garden! I love fresh vegetables!

I may expand it this year to include raspberries and strawberries though.

Most of my neighbors grow gardens and we each are good at growing certain things, so at the end of the year we all get together and exchange produce. :lmao:

when we had our own place here in Oregon I always had a garden. Corn is a hard one to grow. My parents had about 40 50 foot rows of corn every year because thats all we could grow in our rocky back yard. But it was great.
we always had a big corn feed at out place with all the neighbrs at peak season too.
They would bring butter, S&P and paper plates and beverages and we had the corn and cooked it. Those were fun times!!

I grew a good patch of peas one year but never got to eat a single pea.
My kids went out and discovered they liked raw peas. Peas ar emy favorite so I was kinda upset with them. who would of thought they would go out and eat vegetables??:lmao::lmao:

we did beans, cucumbers, hanging baskets with strawberries, corn, tomatoes, and even a few small watermelons, onions and garlic.

Have fun with your garden. I miss having one. who knows I may try a patio tomato plant or hanging strawberry plant once we get home again.

I use to have a huge garden! Canned about 75 quarts of beans, strung tons for shuck beans and 75 pints of tomatoes (goulash, regular and chili) every year. Froze tons of corn and green peppers. I've had strawberries--never could get them to be of any size. Raspberries we had here until I tore down the back building and moved them. Most of them died. Kathy, the kids always picked them all and ate them too. They'd bring me a couple and say they wanted to make sure I had some! lol

I haven't posted in a really really long time, but for awhile we were debating whether or not we were still going to cruise this year-- but the other day I decided I really miss the ship, and went ahead and bought plane tickets:thumbsup2 So I can't wait to get to know everybody, and join in the fun! I already have a FE - first time for that- the other 3 cruises we didn't do one. Oh, and according to the kids we are in "steerage" Deck 1 :lmao: My oldest has watched Titanic way too many times! K-- I am heading to bed-- but will be back tomorrow. :goodvibes

Bumping back up to the top. It's a nice day out today. Walked over to St. Patrick's to run an errand for my mom. Note to self - don't take Jewish co-worker to St. Pat's. She didn't realize there was a lunch time mass and thought someone was just on the altar speaking. She started to mock him. :scared: I did have to tell it that it was a full blown mass. :sad2:
I don't think her religion had anything to do with her mocking the priest. She's a little touched anyway. :rotfl:

Then we walked over to Jamba Juice and she dropped $5 on a smoothie. None for me. I'll bank my pennies for the boat. :thumbsup2

Morning all,

It's a nice day in the city today. I think its a good day to run errands. My mom wants me to find a book that she read in the 50's about a cat that lived in St. Patrick's Cathedral. Umm, okay mom. :confused3 So since it's not on amazon or anywhere else on the web, I checked St. Pat's. They directed me to a Catholic bookstore. So today I will trek over there. And then off to the NBA store for an Easter gift for my niece.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. It's our anniversary and we actually have a babysitter for tomorrow night.:banana: Yeah for us!! Have a good one all!!

Hi all, thanks for the good thoughts and prayers. It means a lot.
Very hard times for me. Now my brothers and i have to find anice place for mom to go after the hospital to stay. she cant go home again. She is too weak and its extra hard because in the days her mind is still clear, then as the day progresses she gets confused and has panic attacks, and absolutely doesnt know anyone. We only have til tuesday to find place for her.
Looking at foster care houses, not nursing home.
Much cleaner, cheerful, private bedroom and can have many of her own things.
They have added congestive heart failure to her problems too.

Have to run, no more internet for me for at least a week.

I'll check in then, keep us posted, my whip is watching you all,

It should be warm here too today. I was able to go without my gloves this morning and didn't freeze walking to the subway. All good things. :thumbsup2:banana::banana:

Wow, spring break already. I guess Easter is next weekend. It seems early to me but I'm not sure why. :confused3 DD gets off next Wednesday and is then off for what seems like most of April. :rotfl2::rotfl2: They actually have a full day of school next Wednesday. They usually have a half day. We have a new principal and she's rather odd so who knows what she is thinking. :confused3 Like the kids are going to be doing anything when they are thinking about 12 days of freedom. I would hate to be those teachers. :sad1:

Well have a good day everyone. Hopefully I can get outside for a walk at lunch today since it looks like we might have sun and warm weather. :cool1::cool1:

Hi all
Busy times here. I have a couple of new clients and am still trying to figure out how to fit them in with my existing work. I'm killing myself but afraid to turn down any work in case slow times hit later in the year. Wish i had a crystal ball.

We are off to WDW and DCL next week!!!!! Using developer's points from when we added on for one night at Saratoga Springs pre-cruise Wednesday. May just hit downtown disney that night though I know I'm going to at least get an hour or two of park time. Gotta get our money's worth on those annual passes. :rotfl:

Thursday morning, getting picked up at 9:15 a.m. to head to the port for our first ever 3-day on the Wonder. We have only been on the Magic and only done 7 nighters so this will be a new experience for us. We are planning to go go go on this one since it's so short - so we can get in all our favorite DCL activities.

After the cruise, we have 2 nights at Saratoga (treating ourselves to a 2 bedroom for a change due to developer's points) and have dinner planned at OHana on Easter night and at Whispering Canyon the next night.

So ready for this trip!!!!!!

Have a great day all.

Have a great trip! We own SSR but only stayed there once. :rotfl2: We use our points at the Campground. I love that place. Now if they would only give me Fort Wilderness points I would be all set. :cloud9:

Enjoy the trip and report back on the Wonder!!

Happy Friday all!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Have a busy day of errands and GS stuff tomorrow but am going to seriously relax on Sunday. I can't wait. Once we get through 8:30 am mass (okay, not fond of DD being an altar server at times) then I'm coming home to park my butt on the couch and be a complete vegetable. :thumbsup2
Okay, I can dream can't I?? :confused3

Have a great weekend everyone!!

We had reservations at Whispering Canyon when we went, but didn't get to go. :sad2:

Hi all,
I just zipped home to get Greg to come back with me for the next 4 days, then I'll be home for 2 days then back to moms again. I must admit I am so depressed and emotionally worn out I cant seem to think straight. I feel like I should be in the facility where we put our mom.
First 2 days went pretty good then last night another turn for the worst, but that is typical for dimenta. Didnt have time to see her today, so I dotn know if she has slipped farther from reality or not. Nights are the worst. She even got a window open a little bit and set off an alarm as she tried to push the scrren out to escape. No matter where she is she will always try to escape, even her own house. That is just the dimenta. She did that a few times at her house and the hospital.

Thankfully she forgets everything from 5 minutes before.
This last 9 days have beent he worst of my life, I so need a cruise!!

THANKYOU everyone for your well wishes, I'll take all the prayers and pixie dust you can muster up.
back next week, late in thew week,

Doesn't look like we had much activity on the thread in the past 24 hours?

Only about 3 more months until we head for Mt. Rushmore. :woohoo:

Brayden is getting excited to ride the steam train they have over there in Hill City.

I fell on the ice this evening and now I'm so sore I can hardly move...I don't remember hurting this bad when I was younger?! :confused3:lmao:

Well, off to bed for me.

Good night!

Sorry to hear about your fall Greg and glad to hear that you are feeling better......but your right....it never hurt as much when we were younger...old age sucks!!!;)

Kathy: I'm sorry about your mom. My dad is not doing well either, so I know where your coming from. It's really hard to watch your parents go down hill....you always remember them as being your rock....now you have to be there's.
my dad is fighting us about getting his drivers liscense. he wants to drive, but cannot walk up and down all the stairs (he lives in a condo..3rd floor walk up) it kills me and I'm a lot younger than him. we are trying to convience him with his oxygen he cant drive....he will be 94 on the 17th....God Bless him!!

Anyway...just another 11 days and will be heading to colorado:yay::dance3: cant wait.

Hi everyone,

I am back until friday afternoon when I go back to moms for the weekend.
She is adjusting very well to her new environment, mostly due to the fact she has really gone down hill during the 8 days she has been there.

She is happy in her fantasy world and thats what counts. She doesnt worry about anything, she lives minute to minute, forgetting anything from 5 minutes ago which is the best we could hope for.
She still know her kids, but not grandkids or great grandkids.

Even when she calls us by name and says she loves us, she will talk crazy nonsense, so we are relieved she is not in pain and not afraid of anything right now like she was originally.

One day we went camping with her in her room which was her happy memories from us growing up coming into her mind.
another day she was a proper English lady, she would talk in proper english and curtsy and call people Your highness or your majesty all morning. She was remembering going to Renisance fairs which she dearly loved.

But by noon she and others start to get worse, so we leave. It is too heartbreaking to watch that. Her congestive heart failure is getting worse too so that may take her soon before the dimenta does. We would be happy for that.
Mom always said if I loose my mind, I dont want to live anymore. so if the Lord takes her soon, that would be her wish.

enough sadness now, I want to thank everyone for their pixie dust, it means alot to me.

I will go back and read the posts later today,
but I do know Jeff should be about to cruise over Easter, so Jeff, have an awesome time. The Wonder is a nice ship, I know you'll love it.

Back soon,
Kathy

We are doing good thanks. This will be our third NCL cruise, we really like the eat anytime you want. Looking forward to Disney in June. We were there in January and hit the only week where the temps were in the upper 60's, couldn't have asked for better weather. We took 2 friends with us who had never been so it was fun showing them the parks. We got on just about every ride and never waited more than 10 minutes, the benefits of knowing how to work the park.

Really sorry to hear about your mom. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I love WDW in winter. The weather is usually so nice. We will be back there around the first of june, just in time for hot humid weather.:scared: I am anxious to get our annual passes again. After 8 years of living near WDW we have a good plan for each park too, it really does help to beat the lines and crowds.

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter. We are closed today for Good Friday, but it has rained here this morning. The sun is starting to come out now. We had thought about riding up through the mountains today, but the weather looked like they would get about 1-1 1/2 inches up that way. Maybe we will go tomorrow if it is better weather. We can get to the Blue Ridge Parkway in less than an hour. It is easy to find a nice place for a picnic lunch along the Parkway.

Yesterday we went to church, and then I ate ALL DAY long!!!!:sad2::rotfl: My mom has been feeling not so well for the past couple of months, so she took everyone to the chinese buffet for lunch. She usually fixes a big Easter lunch, but this year she just did not feel up to it.

After that, we all went to her house to visit, and of course she had lot of sweets sat out.

Then Staci's folks came to our house for a big supper, so I ate some more.

Might have to go an a diet now that there are no more holidays for a while to use as an excuse not to loose a little weight!!!!!:rotfl2:

Yeah, I know, Carnival is not our favorite either, but it's cheaper and we can do more of those, b/c they sail from Louisiana. I hope we like the Fantasy though, it just got a renovation and looks great!

It's a 4-Day, so I'll let you know soon!!

Hey Stephanie! Say hey to Greg and Wyatt. We missed you guys at the dinner table on this one. I'm downloading photos now and hope to write a trip report this week. And I promise promise promise I am still going to send Greg those parasailing photos. I've been having problems with the computer my photos are all stored on and want to move them to a new laptop to be able to better manage them. Bottom line - we had a BLAST. We were really wary of doing such a short sailing but we did much more than we imagined we could on such a short cruise.

I knew ya'll would have a good time! I can't wait to see your pictures! I Love LOve Castaway Cay!! When is your next Disney or other cruise?

I'll be sure to tell Greg about the parasailing pics! He's putting Wyatt to bed right now.

Let me know if he is any good. If not i have relatives on the Cherokee reservation in Oklahoma I can call for you but they may make it snow instead of making it go away if I ask nicely.
My mom and her family are registered Cherokee, my oldest brother too but the blood line is thinned to far down to me or at least thats what they tell me.:rolleyes1 Maybe that is just their excuse not to have to claim me:lmao

Did you get the right answers to any questions on the game show? Your score showed 0 in the photo. Was tht Mickey Mainia or another game show? Never mind i see it was 100 for your score. I just had to tip my screen up to see it more clearly.

LOL - we didn't get many right - though we DID finish second. Elizabeth was great at the last section where they blur pictures. It was Mickey Mania.

Jeff, how did you like the decor difference on the Wonder? I like the club area much better on the Wonder because its not so dark looking.

I know most of the rest is the same accept the statue in the atrium but the floor tiles and rugs are different but the adult clubs are really a lot of differences.

Kathy

It is so subtle that we kept looking for the differences. The club area is the most obvious along with the difference between Tritons/Lumieres. We also like the seating in the Promenade Lounge better on the Magic. It looks a little dated on the Wonder.

You know we had an inside cabin for the first time and it is just a little tight for the four of us. Not as much storage and nowhere to escape when we are all getting ready together - I usually retreat to the Verandah. And we really missed the verandah coming into ports too. Probably won't ever book anything less than a 9 from now on.

Another vacation?:eek:You seem to vacation more often than I change underwear!:rotfl2:

Hope everyone is doing well. Just had to drop by and say hello and see what was happening around here.

Lisa and I still technically have this cruise booked, but we will most likely be cancelling it. We are talking about doing a winter-time trip to Europe to blow some of these frequent flyer miles that I have accumulated. I have always wanted to go to German during the Christmas season to see the Christmas Markets, but we both also really want to do a trip to Italy. And then, there is the return trip to Russia that we would like to do!:confused3 But, it is all dependent on money and timing.

Hi Bob, good to hear form you.
You should join us on the 9/18/2010 TA cruise, that would use some flyer miles up.:lmao: Fly to Barcelona and then 14 days on the Magic to return to Florida.
Bruce & Linda are coming along. We could use a couple more familiar faces on board:goodvibes Its a good price for 14 days, its just the airfare that kills the budget. But your flyer miles will take care of that.:thumbsup2

Thanks for thinking of me. I'm here. I've been kind of busy and not posting much. My mom is coming into town today so DD and I spent sometime cleaning last night. House wasn't in bad shape but even DD said we needed to straighten her bedroom before Nana said something. ;) I truly love my mom but jeez, our rooms were messes when we were kids. Cut the grandkid, that you see 2 or 3 times a year, some slack. So I'm stressing a little. DH and DD have airport duty and are probably already on the way there. Of course tonight was the only night I could get a dr.'s appt so I'm actually going to be late getting home. Oh well.

I wish I could play hookey tomorrow but it's not in the cards. I need a mental health day.

Jeff - Glad to hear your cruise went well. I have to log in at home to see the pictures. Darn work computers and their filters. :headache:

Just taking it one day at a time.

I am excited to go on the new ships too. Plus they are going to remodel the terminal to accommodate them, so we will see a new terminal too.

Mom is worse each day, Dr will see her tomorrow. I believe she has maybe a month at best if she continues to keep going down hill as fast as she has been doing the past 2 weeks. Part of this may be a new drug she is on, so the Dr might take her off it and she may bounce back a little but she is terminal, so really not much point in it unless it makes her more comfortable.

Is there enough at Club Med to do with kids? I like the look of the "Beaches resort" and it seems very kid friendly.

I almost chose Providenciales for Janel and I's getaway next month, but Aruba won out because I didn't want to worry about storms and hurricanes messing up our plans. :thumbsup2

I would chose the T&C over the Atlantis ANYTIME. I've been there to the Club Med and the water is amazing there.

I second that. Although I haven't been to T&C (next on my list) we went to Atlantis during our first Disney Cruise and hated it. The place is too huge and the people were so rude. I am glad I got a sample of it because I had always wanted to stay there but I have no desire to go back.

Jeff - Great trip report! Glad you liked the preview of BLT. We actually purchased it site unseen on our January cruise. We have a studio booked for Thanksgiving right before our next cruise. We got developer points so it paid for the next cruise and we still had points left over for 2 nights before hand.
Sorry to hear about Atlantis. I've never been but everyone always talks about it. Sounds like some place we can definitely miss.

Kathy - I hope you're feeling better soon. I hate colds.

We had a beautiful weekend. Weather was fabulous. DH got a lot of work done with a new garden he is planting. Of course the puppies are having fun digging up the fresh dirt he is planting. I heard him screaming upstairs Sunday morning and couldn't figure out what he was yelling about as I knew all the dogs were out in the yard. Apparently he was screaming out the window to stop digging up his new dirt. :rotfl2: Poor guy, all that hard work and the puppies just seem so happy to destroy it. ;)

My mom is visiting and is doing well. Now if she would stop insulting my sisters, all would be great. And yes, mom is healthy as a horse and only 69. For some reason she has lost the filter on her mouth. She told my younger sister that her new hairstyle/color looked like a wig they would give cancer patients. :scared: Once she said it, it did become obvious (not that I told DS) but geez DM needs to put that filter back in place. :lmao:

I hope everyone has a good week! Its supposed to rain pretty hard to today so I hope the rest of the week clears up! :)

We said the exact same thing. We had toyed with going there over spring break this year and so thought maybe next year. Am I glad we saw it this time because now I wouldn't go there for a trip for anything.

Is there enough at Club Med to do with kids? I like the look of the "Beaches resort" and it seems very kid friendly.

I almost chose Providenciales for Janel and I's getaway next month, but Aruba won out because I didn't want to worry about storms and hurricanes messing up our plans. :thumbsup2

When I went to club med, it was before kids. BUt I know the clubs with kids programming do have a lot to do. One warning about the beaches. I have a very good friend who went to the T&C Beaches with her family and they absolutely despised it. She said it was filthy. She wrote letters upon getting home etc. not to get money back but just to let people know how awful their experience was. She is not the type to complain unnecessarily and this is another place we had always thought we'd go - until her experience.

Allison, i know a lot of people who once they get past mid 60's just say what they think without worrying about how it sounds. Once one of them said I am old enough now that i really dont care what people think of me when I speak. I am just going to tell it like it is. Maybe your mom has reached that point too.

Wish I could of seen the puppies having fun in the dirt. I know my full grown dogs would of done the same thing.:rolleyes1 They are trouble makers just like little kids.:lmao:

we are 73 and beautiful today, heading for 80 but the RV is so small it heats up fast. It was 85 in here so I had to turn on the AC already and its only noon. I wanted to save on the electric bill this month but running the AC isnt going to help that bill:sad2:

I had heard complaints about the Beaches resorts on Jamaica, but hadn't heard anything about the one on T&C.

We'll probably just end up renting a beach house/condo on Grace Bay or book the Villa Renaissance.... it looks fun and relaxing. :thumbsup2

yes, we booked the Magic western for Oct 30, 2010. We had our points for this year to use up so be banked them to next year and decided on the cruise. We are looking at Disneyland Paris for the spring to use up the rest. Hoping airfares stay as low as they are now.

I have my DD with me today at work for the "Take your Child" to work program. I affectionally term it "Take your brat" work. :rotfl2:

She's bored. Go figure. :rotfl::rolleyes: Program starts at 9 a.m. She doesn't want to go. In her defense, it does look rather boring. I told her they would probably give out goodies with the firm's name on it. Then we got for lunch at Ruby Foo's (a chinese place), a science show in the afternoon with snacks and then the American Girl store for dinner. So she just has to muddle through the morning and then she's good. She's whining so much though. :headache::rolleyes:

I keep forgetting to ask,

Jeff did you go to downtown Disney?

I saw on line they have a hot air balloon ride there now.
It is tethered and goes up 400 feet and lasts about 10 minutes.
I was wondering if you saw this?
The article didnt say the price.?

I told Greg I bet $30 to $50 per ride. He thought it would be lower.

I know on Hwy 92 near Disney at Old Town they have a sling shot ride thats $30, so I thought this might be about the same.

They showed photos of the view that were awesome.

We did see it and we had every intention of doing it but we ran out of time. When we go back in June, we are at Port Orleans Riverside for the first four nights so hopefully we can get over there and do it then. The girls are dancing at Downtown Disney as well so we WILL actually be there for at least some portion of time.

The prices for the balloon are pretty good. They have one of those at the Philadelphia Zoo that we used to go on. I think the only reason we would do this one is to see the different view. DD wasn't too excited about going on it so I might get to save some money.:banana:

DD muddled through the morning program at work, barely. She called me an hour before it was out and begged me to come and get her. So I went up to convince her to stay. She said it was really boring. It really did look that way so I couldn't blame her. Anyway, the big bosses little boy was in and he looked so sad and lonely that I begged her to go sit and play with him. (Cause the mom begged me to have my DD look out for him - he's shy.) I got the eyeroll. How unexpected....:rotfl2:

Finally I just gave in and bribed her. Told her that if she treated him really well and played nicely the rest of the day that I would buy her the American Girl doll she's been begging for. So its only costing me $100 to make the bosses kid happy. Oh what we do to keep our Wall Street jobs. :rotfl::rotfl:
So its off to the store after work to buy the doll.

We will sneak out after the afternoon science show to hit the M&M store. I think I need some chocolate to get through the rest of the day. :rotfl2:

Hi Christine,
actually I am happy Greg is right. I would rather have lower prices so more people can afford it. Of course theres no rule saying I have to tell Greg he was right:rolleyes1 He can find out on his own way off in the future:lmao:

Jeff, we may still be back in time to watch the girls dance, we will know in 2 weeks . Let me know if you do the balloon ride and we arnt there. I am curious about how you would like it. I think it is too high for my taste. Greg would love it.

Allison, maybe the boss will give you a raise for taking good care of her son and that will cover the cost of the doll:confused3 Just make sure your DD is REALLY nice to earn the expensive of a doll.:lmao:
Guess I havnt bought kids toys in a long time. That is a lot for a doll! She must be very special

We stayed there before kids and thought it was pretty nice. But since then we haven't stayed in anything but a deluxe. So....I'm lowering my expectations as much as possible and then we shall see. We go from there to AKV and have concierge for at least 2 of our 4 days there... on wait list for the other two.

Kathy - The American Girl dolls are quite pricey but they last a long time and they very well made. I will keep buying from them because they really do treat their customers right. Long story I won't bore everyone with but they treated us really well earlier this year when they didn't have to. So I bought the silly doll. She's happy as anything and went to bed with it. And the boss's kid was smiling and happy at the end. That's all that matters. :thumbsup2

The last time we spent more than two night in Disney was at the Grand Floridian concierge so I am definitely a little worried about staying a week at POR. I really like the property, just not crazy about the rooms. If they come out with the 4/3 special for October I will to upgrade to AKL Concierge.

Depends on where you stay. Stay at the beach club and walk into Epcot and walk or take a quick boat ride to the studios. Stay at the Poly, GF, Contemporary and take a 2 minute monorail ride to the front gate of WDW. If you are at the Contemporary you can walk. It's why we stagger our trips. One time at BC for those parks and the next time at a MK resort. And for as much as I hate hate hate public transportation and said I'd always rent a car when at WDW even when staying onsite - the last couple of trips we haven't and I'm pretty amazed at how efficient and convenient the buses are. It really is better than driving and parking.
