Not real happy with my last haircut & thinking about canceling appointment before trip, so interested in haircut / style. We will be at the poly, so was interested in GF or CR beauty shoppes. Any experience at either one? Was it hard to get a hair appointment? What was the cm's like? Talented? Thanks for any help, MKY:)

The name of the salon at the GF is the Ivy Trellis. I bet you could call ahead and make an appointment. Never had my hair done there, but I would assume that the stylists are very good. I say go for it! It sounds like fun!

DH and I honeymooned at the GF in June 2000 (today is actually our anniversary :D) and I got my hair cut at the Ivy Trellis. I had let it grow out for the wedding, but did not want to deal w/ long hair at WDW, so I made an appointment for the day we arrived at WDW! LOL!! I didn't get anything fancy done...just a cut w/ layers. I really liked it! It was a bit expensive though. I think w/ tip it ended up being around $60 or $70...I tipped a good bit, though. You should definately call ahead of time to get an appointment because the Ivy Trellis does a lot of stuff for the various weddings held at the Wedding pavillion.

Can't speak for the GF, but the salon at the YC/BC, Periwigs, is very good. My DD's had their hair braided (cornrows) last trip, and they did a wonderful job. As posted above though, these resort salons tend to be quite pricey!

I just had my hair cut at the CR on 5/22. It cost $45 plus tip and I was very happy with the cut. Jodi cut my hair both last year and this year at the CR, but she's moving to the salon at the Dolphin this week, so next year I'll have my hair cut over there when I'm at WDW for my vacation.
