At an attempt to block out the messy, horrible neighbors cheaply, another neighbor suggested taking cuttings from the forsythia I was trimming and just inserting them into the ground. I did notice that where stalks of the forsythia had grown down to the ground, they had rooted. I tried it yesterday. He said to plant 2 or 3 sticks in each hole. Just polk the ground with a screwdriver and stick in the stalks. I will let you know what happens.

Sounds like a good plan. I will be interested to hear how well they take root. :)

I hope it works for you marlasmom! We have a neighbour who although they're not "horrible", keep their yard pretty messy. It drives my DH crazy!!

Anyone else plagued by a messy neighbour?

....I know you aren't DixieD, lucky woman!! :)

I have a messy neighbor. I usually end up raking their leaves on one side of their garage. Otherwise it all ends up in my yard sooner or later.

AND....they have a ton of IVY....:smooth: :smooth:

I have posted about this neighbor before on another thread. I picked up 3 1/2 of those huge Walmart bags (about 4 feet tall) of fast good garbage, mismatched shoes, broken toys. He has refused to do anything. His garage doors have been two different colors for 10 years. The doors are hanging by a thread. When the door is open and you get a glimpse of the house you see bags and bags of garbage with little paths through them. He has posted horrible things about me on the town web page. I am (1) an alcoholic, (2) take psychotropic drugs, (3) refuse to take my psychotropic drugs, (4) smoke cigars, (5) my house smells of cheroots (he has never been in my house and it is a pretty safe bet he never will be) and on and on. His excuse is that he lost his job ten years ago. I told him I could not understand why losing his job precluded him from picking up his garbage. Our house has been for sale for 2 months and we have lost at least 4 sales (and possibly 6) because people don't want to live next to him. I have reduced the price of the house but I am giving up. We will stay here.

The rest of the neighbors are wonderful and keep immaculate houses and yards. I can't keep up with them.
