I thought I was a disney nut, no change that I am a disneyholic and I would not change a thing except more magic and reading your report was like WHATT BIBBIDY BOBBITY BOUTIQUE OMG I never even knew it exsisted. I have been going to disney since before it opened. Yes in 1970 I went to see WHAT WAS COMING they had slides of the new Disney World. It was my very first trip to Florida and the airport was like a hanger. WOW things have changed. We are leaving in 13 days and can't wait we are so excited. Please tell me how did you find out about the B B Boo thing. How long have they been doing this?

Thanks so much for reading. I found out about through these boards. I read a little bit about it in 2007 and byt 2008 I had booked it a few days before our trip, but then Claire got sick and it didn't happen. So we were determined to do it this trip. She wants to go back. They now have a pirate league that opened this summer and it looks super cool. It does pirate makeovers. I want to have her do it if we go again, but she may not want to, since she is more into being beautiful. LOL! But they do have a pretty pirate makeover too.

I don't always put up my siggie; I may have opted not to post it :confused3
most times if I post on someone's thread a second time or more I take the siggie off.
Depends on who and what I'm commenting on.

But, thanks for noticing! so far I can still see my siggie when I post it!
Thanks for the compliment, too!

OK, that makes sense now.
I was just reading over on your thread about the new addtion to Fantasyland, and I saw they are going to take out most of toontown. they are going o leave the barnstormer but retheme it. And giove mickey and Minnie new house up towards the front of the park, which I can't imagine where. Thats kind of weird. There are going to be some big changes. But it should be cool

that's nice

Thanks everyone. No I didn't use a tripod. I got lucky. Someday I would like to take a tripod and go alone (with out Claire) and take some great shots, but I never have enough room or patience to carry one around the park. I was just walking around slowly working my way up front and taking pics as I went.

It was pretty easy, and i am not computer wize:surfweb:, I had an app on computer called windows movie maker. You just pick the pictures that you want and it lets you pick the order that you want them to play you have even add some cool features. As for the songs I don't really have any disney cd's :confused3 i know i know lol. So I went to amazon and found the songs that I liked they where .99 a piece. And the same thing with the pictures you put them where you want them and for how long. If you need help let me know we can face book and I can walk you thur it.

I'm caught up again. Those were some great night shots. I just saw the post for Claire in the princess contest. I still don't have my computer back - not in the financial plan for this week - maybe next week - but I sure don't mind taking time out from work to vote for my favorite cutie pie

I need to know that secret too.

I didn't smell the oranges. I had heard you were supposed to, but I never smelt anytihgn. I was on an end seat, so amybe that made a difference?

Soarin' has smells for every scene - at least a few - like the ocean, the oranges, and the pine trees for sure. I have a really strong sense of smell - my husband used to call me "the nose" (especially when pregnant). The oranges are pretty strong - I've been on Soarin' a bunch of times (and still duck when the darn golfball comes!). You don't get wet - but the sensory overload really could make your mind think so!

I am on the pages in the 50's and loving your report! Many of my trips with my kids I took without my DH (he is part burned out on Disney and also has to work, so I took them alone starting at ages 4 and 6). My DD is the opposite - although at 4 she would wear a sundress when it's hot, she has never really gotten into the princesses (even though at 2 I got her the cutest princess gown with accessories on Halloween, she couldn't wait to get out of it, rather she loved being Pooh!). Super tomboy. Oh well.

Anyway, Soarin' has lots of smells - next time you'll see for sure! It could have been less being off to the side!

I got some good news. I got the Mary Poppins dress yeasterday. It's pretty cute and once I combined everything together I like it. It is a little long (well really long) so I may see if my friend will him it, but if not, no big deal. I wanted to take pics of her in it today, but it is so blasted windy outside that they just wouldn't be any good. Once we get some pics I'll post it.

Adorable! What a cute Mary "Claire" Poppins. The pictures with the umbrella behind her head are my favorites. You sure got some cute shoots for it being an "off" day. You wouldn't know it from the photos.

I know you said you thought the costume was too long. It would be a shame to cute off that cute detail at the hem. Could you shorten the straps in the back to bring up the length - maybe tack it under a couple of inches (wouldn't want to cut them off because she will need it longer later)??? Just a thought. I know you want those perfect boots you ordered to show.

We had the shirt, the hat was from Easters past I I just added to it. We bought the parasol at Michaels and I added bows. We ordered the dress from Claire's dance studio and I added bows to it. We got the boots over the summer online.

Hi all! Just letting you know Skip had his hip replaced yesterday and all seems to have gone well. He was really out of it yesterday. It was also a really long broing day for me. LOL! He went into surgery about 8:40 AM and it was over at 10 and the Dr came out and talked to me, but I never got to see him till about 3:15 PM. He was just so out of it and would fall asleep while talking. Hopefully today is better. I jsut talked to him and is getting ready for his 1st therapy session. Claire and I will go visit him in a few hours. (I should go take my shower and get moving.) So we will be busy with him I'm sure for awhile. I think he will come home Thursday afternoon.

Just updating on Skip. He got home from the hospital on Wed. He's doing really well. He walks with a walker, but is getting daring and doing some smller steps in the house without it. He is doing a bit of work though already. Nothing hard, mostly sitting and watching the grain wagon load. But he just can't sit still. His therapy is going well and he walked with a cane on Monday there. They say he is doing really well, but not to over do it of course.
So thats our update here. We seem to be so busy lately, wioth all the holidays and events that have been going on, plus all the time at the hospital and runnign to therapy. Plus, it's almost like I have a second child to get ready at times. LOL!:lmao: I have to help him with his socks and pants, and tie his shoes. He's getting a little more limber now, so it's getting easier to do.

Skip is just so used to being busy all day long, so staying at home is driving him nuts. He walked out top the barn the 1st day he got home and just sat in the office for an hour or so and watched tv out there. he felt like he was a bit more in the action then. LOL! :rotfl:

Claire had a party on the 30th at her school. They could wear basic costumes if the parent was there to help (I sent her in hers, but did go to the party as well) and they could bring a mask from home. They encouraged homemade masks, so we went with Alice in Wonderland. They paraded around the school and played a few games.

I ended up taking Claire to the Dr's yesterday. She had dots on her face. She has imphatigo (sp?) So she's on antibiotics for that. I thought it was super contagious, but the Dr said the only real way to spread it is if someone scratches her dots and then scratches themselves. touching it won;t spread it, thats a relief, becuase I touched it alot yesterday when I found them. LOL!

I haven't forgotten to finish up my pictures, I just seem to have no time lately. I'll get at it. We've been doing something constantly and with sick kids too, it makes things hard. Plus I've been trying to get all my X-mas gift bought/ordered. Claires' b-day is this week and we are having her family party today. It's not til l5, but of course she got up bright and early today excited, and I'm sure wil lbe driving me nuts by then.
She is going to an X-mas party with MIL though for awhile.

Does anyone do St. Nick. We do and last night we left out our shoes for him and we got some treats. So Claire has been having Chocolate for breakfast! MMM! Ok, I have too. :lmao:

I haven't forgotten to finish up my pictures, I just seem to have no time lately. I'll get at it. We've been doing something constantly and with sick kids too, it makes things hard. Plus I've been trying to get all my X-mas gift bought/ordered. Claires' b-day is this week and we are having her family party today. It's not til l5, but of course she got up bright and early today excited, and I'm sure wil lbe driving me nuts by then.

Your life sounds like mine! Maddie's birthday is Friday and she's been doing so much stuff - I haven't gotten to my report for awhile.

We do St. Nick too :thumbsup2 Most people have no idea what I'm talking about if they aren't from my area, so I was surprised to read that you do it too - cool!

Usually it's more of a Catholic tradition, so I'm told, and I grew up Catholic.
St. Nick is who Santa is based on, and his fest day is the 6th. Sometimes we leave our shoe out on the 5th so it is filled for the 6th and sometimes not until the night of the 6th (becuase I have forgotten uusally or something like that ;)) The story we were told is that St. Nick flys around on one reindeer and then comes to your house...thru the door... and leaves you a little gift. There are lots of other traditions and I did google it last year and read alot about it, but can't remember a single bit of it now. :confused3 :rotfl2:
WE always loved it as a kid becuase it meant it was getting close to Christmas. At school (I went to Catholic school) we would come in on the 6th and find candy canes left on our desks as well from St. Nick.
One year my parents were out of town and I stayed with my cousins. We al lset our shoes out and got oranges. LOL! I wasn't impressed. Spoiled kid I was, my mom always got us a little present and candy..NOT FRUIT! But that sounds just like my Aunt. And of course I was too young to know it was her then.
Anyone can do it, but I think around here it's mostly a Catholic thing. I know a few people who have heard of it, and I have had some friends start doing it after I told them about it.

Here's a blurb about St. Nick in the U.S. :

Celebration in the United States:
While feasts of Saint Nicholas are not observed nationally, cities with strong German influences like Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and St. Louis celebrate St. Nick's Day on a scale similar to the German custom.[5] On December 5, the Eve of St. Nicholas Day, each child puts one empty shoe outside their bedroom door or on a staircase before they go to sleep. The following morning of December 6, the children awake to find that St. Nick has filled their footwear with candy and small presents (if the children have been good) or coal (if not). For these children, the relationship between St. Nick and Santa Claus is not clearly defined, although St. Nick is usually explained to be a helper of Santa. The tradition of St. Nick's Day is firmly established in the Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Cleveland and St. Louis communities, with parents often continuing to observe the day with their adult children. Widespread adoption of observing the tradition has spread among the German, Polish, Belgian and Dutch communities throughout Wisconsin, and is carried out through modern times.

Here's a link to the whole article from Wikipedia:

Oh - around here we use our stockings, not shoes. So we don't really do anything on Christmas Day with our stockings - but some people may do both.

Thanks, I thought it was cultural too, but wasn't sure.
We do shoes for St. Nicks and stockings for Santa. As a kid we had two stockings, one was left by the tree (to heavy to keep haning in the fireplace) and one left by our bedroom door. That was becuase my parents wanted more sleep time, and so we were allowed top get into the stocking and play quietly for awhile and gave them a little more sleept ime. LOL!
I did that with Michael and Paige too, but Claire sleeps in late, so really no need for her to, tho I did it last year and she walked right past it when she got up. Some Christmas's she has slept till 11! LOL! Tho I think this year she's a bit more excited about it. She had a hard time going to sleep last night and was up before 8:30 today. Thats early for her to get up on her own.

Hi Jen

I found this yesterday and have not been able to stop reading!! I was reading it last night and before I realised it was 3am :scared1: and its taken me most of today to finish it!!

Hmmm don't know where to start, LOVED reading this. Claire is just the cutest! And your older daughter is very beautiful, I loved all her graduation pics!

You take wonderful pics. Been loving all the extra shots like dance recitals and of the farm & cows and family events.

We stayed at POP a few years ago, by the giant laptop, (I have a great picture of my brother and nephew looking up at it!) I didn't realise there were so many cool things dotted around the resort. I will definatley have to make sure I investigate the resorts more!

Glad to hear that Skip's surgery & recovery went well.

One question, when are you going to go back??!!! I need another pre-trip and trip report to read!

Thanks so much for reading.
I don't know when we'll go again. Money is tighter this year...in fact DH and are having an arguemnet over it right now..money, not disney...He thinks 100 doallrs can buy gifts for everyone, even though we have a gift exchange we are each in that are 100 each. :confused3 I also am taking Claire and some friends to see a movie tmorrow to celebrate her birthday. (her b-day was Wed) and he is having a fit about it. Really being a big jerk actually. He is always such a scrooge at this time of year, and I really have to think hard and remind myself of his good qualities, which is really hard right now. :lmao:If we do go again, I will definately write up a pre trip report. Sadly I don't see it hapeening this year. Not unless I can figure out how to get that corn cob out of his butt!

On another note, I feel bad as well, (and that whats makes me even more mad about DH being a jerk right now) is that last night I sent Paige to go get some milk. She got in a car accident in the parking lot. She's OK, but because she has mono, and things are swollen inside, we had to take her to the ER to be sure nothing was ruptured. She came out OK, but it was stressful and I feel just awful. Her poor car has got the front bumper hanging.

Well I’ve been in a slump lately and haven’t gone thru my pictures much. I don’t have a clue when our next trip will be, so that is depressing. I have been pricing trips for March…even tho we most likely won’t go..and they seem soooo much higher this year. The dining plan is just becoming outrageous in price now, especially with the added price now for peak times. So it makes me wonder if we would be better off not doing it the next trip we take, and maybe just buying a gift card to pay for our meals. That way we still have the prepaid feel, but maybe not as costly. We always have saved money by doing the plan, but honestly, we could do without a dessert every time, and the savings haven’t been so great that the price hike justifies it.

So anyways, I went thought and got some pictures edited and uploaded finally. These are not the best in the lot remember…but here is some more from our Epcot day.

I meant to comment on your Disney blahs but forgot. Blame it on the holidays.

Have you thought about going maybe in May? We love going at that time of the year. It's not too hot and it's not too too crowded. Also, have you priced out the quick service plan instead of the regular diining plan? That might save you a few hundred dollars.

Also, if you went in May, could you take advantage of the new gift card offer. If you stayed at a value resort, you'd get a $300 and if you stayed in a moderate, you'd get a $500.

I can't remember whether or not you guys had hopper passes and the water park and more passes. We used to do the hopper passes but realized it really wasn't worth the extra money since we like to stick to one park per day anyway. This year, we are foregoing the water park option and are spending an entire day at the resort pool.

I have gone in May and love it, but that is planting season for us farmers, so no go with DH.
We don't do hoppers as of yet. since we are usually there a short time, we do one park per day too, and really don't know if we have time for more than one. I like TS meals, so I think the CS plan wouldn;t be so good for us. Thats why I am thinking of just buying a gift card ahead of time to pay for everything. That wasy we can do some TS meals, and CS meals when we want as well.

The disney gift cards dont expire.

I got one back in Janaury 2006 and have been adding to it once it a while. It has over 1,000 on it now and we still dont go until Sept 2010.

So yesterday I got DH talking about vacations. It doesn't look good. He says that nobody goes to WDW 4 years in a row, and I said, "um yes they do, so go more than once a year too", and he said with his hip replacement, he really doesn't know if he wants to go anywhere. So I'm bummed. I tried tlaking him into a cruise too. Not so much walking, etc, but he just seems to hate that idea. I could've actually booked a low cat. room yesterday for a good price too, but I knew that it wouldn't be that easy. He has to think about things for several weeks. :confused3
So Maybe he'll come around and we can do something. Even if it's not a Disney cruise, I would be happy with anything. Or maybe I can talk him into staying offsite and doing Universal and Seaworld.
Or it may be nothing. We'll live, but it would be more pleasnat if we went somewhere. LOL!
I know in 2008 I had asked if he wanted to try out staying offsite and doing universal early in Jan, and then one day in Feb he came in the house out of the blue and said price a Disney trip. So it COULD happen, but I don't feel like it will.
I got some more pics to post, plus I've been meaning to post some X-mas ones too. I still haven't even loaded them on the computer yet tho.

I priced out universal today. As cheap as I could, picking a fairfield inn near there and it would cost 532 for 5 nights and tickets. I thought that was really good. It has a contental breakfast as well. And we could try to eat cheaply. I mentioned it to him and he grumbled and said we would still have to get there too. He said wait till he retires in 2 years and then we can go. Now he says he's retiring all the time, so I never pay attention to that. He would't know what to do with himslef. LOL! Cows are his life! :lmao:
So at least I planted that in his head. but again, he's not being very cooperative right now! LOL!

How about having your daughter ask him? I'm not above that approach here! And remind him how quickly she's growing up, that she will only love this little kid stuff so long..... yadda yadda yadda....

Keep working on him and good luck!

You have any stuff you can sell on Ebay or a garage sale?????

Don't worry, I will use that card too! LOL! :rotfl2::thumbsup2 Also if we go, I figure we can sneak a day at Disney. I have 2 adult tickets from years ago, so we would only need to buy DD 1. Also a evening at DTD maybe too. LOL! In tha past we have never booked anything earlier than than Jan 26th, and one year Feb 15 and those are for early March dates. So we got time.
I never have luck with ebay, and I guess I just don't have good stuff to sell. LOL!

Thanks, I'll go check it out!

I did tell Claire today that we most likely won't be going on vacation this year...and also told her that she has been a bit bratty lately, and if we have anychance of dad saying yes, she better straighten up. Well she cried, of course, then she said, You can't go without me. AWW! She thought I meant that DH and I were going, but she wasn't. I told her no, we would never go without her, but she needs to let dad know she would like to go and she better be good. :littleangel:
I priced the same vacation to Universal again and it went lower...not sure how, but it was for $425.16 to stay at an offsite hotel (5 nights) and includes tickets and a continental breakfast. I read the reviews on tripadvisor and for the most part the yare all good. I wish DH would JUST DO IT!!! LOL!
I will miss Disney, but I know we can do one day there and I thought of perhaps a half day at DTD, maybe trying for t-rex if possible...all in my fantasy world!

So all of you say a little prayer that DH comes around! :wizard:

OK, one other quirky thing I have to tell you all. You are gonna laugh.
As some of you may remember, I am a licesned cosmetologist. I don;t work currently, but keep my license up. A girl I went to beauty school with lives near me and we lost touch for many years (she didn't live so close when we actually went to school together, but married aguy and they moved about 2 miles from me) Ironically our girls go to school togehter and we have reconnected and do each others hair now, since it is free.
So today was a day to get together and color and cut each other. I blech my hair blonde. (I'm naturally bonde, but it's gotten darker as I got older so now I bleach it blonder) Because I use bleach my hair is porus and we have well water. It picks up an orange cast on the ends, so I use a well water treatment on my hair so often, which then makes my hair more porus. I did this on Sunday to get the orange out before coloring this week. I also put a voilet red in my bangs and in the back and a few stripes on the sides for fun.
Sadly this color fades really fast, and so this time I got a more purple color in a different brand to see how that worked.
Well lets say it REALLY worked! :scared1: The purple pots are great. They turned out wonderful, but as I rinsed my hair the purple flowed thrugh my porus blonde hair and it is now bright PINK! Like the color of Claire's BBB's pink extensions. The roots are blonde! I tell you ...I am one hot chick right now! LOL! Hot pink that is! :wizard:
So now I am using another treatment on my head to try and get rid of this pink stuff. I know it will wash out in a few washes, but it's really pink right now, and I want it faded at least some what before I go in public!
Sorry...no pics of this! LOL!

Hey everyone! I am an old woman today. My son turned 21 today. Boy do I feel like I much to young to have a child that age! Thanks goodness Claire keeps me young!

No trip to Disney this year is official. I have close to $3000 worth of dental work needed, so there is no way to go to Disney now.
I have this theory. Either God is sticking it to DH for telling us no, and not wanting to spend the money on a trip, or he is really sticking it to me, and making sure we can't go. :confused3 LOL! I like to beleive he is sticking itto DH. :rotfl:
Going in for a lovely root canal on Monday. Can you believe that alone cost $2000!!!!!!!! I had one about 7 years ago, and I think it was only half that much then, and I was mad about how much it cost then. I AM going to start buying lottery tickets now! So everyone sprinkle some pixie dust my way!

So sorry about your teeth I feel like I've put a million dollars into my teeth. I just hope River never has the problems I've had with my teeth. I'm sorry about you not being able to go to Disney this year. After my trip coming up in Oct. I will probably have to wait at least 2 years to go back at least I can get on the boards everyday and feel like I'm there for a little while.
I had River when I was 38 so he keeps me feeling young. Happy b-day to your son!

Skip sounds alot like my husband- I had to laugh when you said he was up bright and early the last day and ready to go because that is something my dh would do :lmao:. I am bringing him around slowly!!!!

3000 for dental work ouch I am sorry to hear that. But as they say, all you need is faith, trust, and pixie dust- and WDW isn't going anywhere, so I am sure you will make it back soon.

Hi, I'm not allowed to give out the ebay sellers info anymore. So sorry.

Well I will have a little Disney excitement today. My parents were in Orlando this past week. I ma picking them up from the airport this morning. My mom and Dad bought me this years sweatshirt with the year on it! YAY! So at least I will have that!
They went to MK on Tuesday and said it was chilly, but didn;t wait longer than 10 minutes for anything. They went to Epcot yesterday, but I really didn't hear much about it other than they rode Soarin and my Dad wasn't too fond of it. LOL!

I need to vent somewhere, so here it goes.
I am a little ticked off at DH.
We recently have been collecting info for our taxes. I made some money online so I had a 1090, which means no taxes were taken out. I didn't make alot, but it was nice extra money. So I gave him that. Because we farm we can do a ton of deductions as well. I also used all my internet bills to be deducted too, but DH siad his accountant doubted they could be used. I know they can since I used the internet to make this money. We also got to deduct all out of pocket money we paid in medical this year...and we had alot. Along with a bunch of other stuff I had to run around and collect. DH said that his account was working magic (he always dioes, he's great) and we wouldn't have to pay anything this year...but no refund most likely either. We got around 800 back last year.
He kind of made me feel guilty, like it was my fault because I made this extra money. Not too bad, but he mentioned it and I said well sorry, and he said no problem.

Well.....I was filling out a form to try and get Claire a scholarship for school next year (she goes to private school). It need a copy of our tax form, so I asked if he had it and he said yes. (I never even knew they were finished). So he gives me the copy, and I make a copy and fill the info. So I'm looking it over and wonder how the heck it was filed without me signing...I asked later and he said electronically...and I realized ,OH yeah that can happen.
But here's the kicker. Theres a refund I realized later on...$3000!!!! Nice of him to mention it.

so I got curious tongiht and looked online at the IRS site to see when this refund will come....it's already been direct deposited to his account. (we have seperate accounts)
So this kind of ticks me off. Now granted I would never use any of it (though a Disney vacatrion surely comes in mind) We have my teeth bills to pay off on a credit card along with some other stuff. So he better be paying that, but it ticks me off that he never said a word about it to me.

I really shouldn't be mad as I don't work, per se, so it is his work that earned this..well really the great account that earned it. LOL! And like I said, I wouldn't be doing anything with it becuase we have stuff that needs to be paid off. But it still irks me that he never said a word about it.
I guess the kicker for me is direct deposit. He would never do this in the past. I had stuff direct deposited and he thought it was wierd. (He doesn't even have an ATM card) One year we filed seperately and th bad account we had said we couldn't while married...which I knew he was wrong, well I had already got my direct deposit back, and he made such a fuss, that we filed an amendment and filed jointly, paid back the refund plus what DH owed, and then a few weeks later the stupid IRS refunded it all back to me again, including what DH had to pay.
It took months before we got someone who would take this money back. Anyways DH said the whole direct deposit thing is what messed it up.
I was so mad that all my refund was going towards his farm taxes that after that, we always filed seperately and I told him to tell that account to shoe it up his ...well you know (the account was a family member btw, so it was hard to get rid of him without hard feelings)
And I never gave my refunds to him, I spent them on things for me and the kids. Like shoes and clothes. Nothing wild.

Anyways, sorry I bored you all with this, but I had to do a little venting somewhere. I usuely wouldn't keep my mouth shut about this, but I just don't want to start a fight over something that is kind of stupid. I knwo he's not using it for anything stupid...but I would still like to be in the loop!

Oh my goodness! I don't blame you one little bit for being highly ticked off! So, you know my paralegal knowledge is going to kick in on this one. Not to cause you any problems or anything. It just comes a second nature to me.

Do you live in a community property State? Here in Louisiana, all income, whether it comes from one spouse or two, is community property. It doesn't matter if the couple has separate accounts, it's still community property if the money was deposited during the marriage. Unless, that is, there is a Pre-Nup. Even then, if the money is mixed together in any account, it can be become "co-mingled" and then you can argue over it.

I don't have an accountant do our taxes. We use H&R Block to do our's. I stopped doing our's years ago when we started our own business. I save each and every receipt throughout the year and itemize everything for our tax consultant.....including all of our utility bills (internet included) since the business is run out of our home. We have to BOTH sign forms to electronically file.

Okay, so I'm going to stop with the paralegal business now. Sorry.

You shouldn't ever say that you dont' work. You do work and you earn a living by help run the business, cooking, cleaning and taking care of Claire. Stay at home Mom's have a super hard job in my opinion.

I won't pretend to know your financial status but I am sure that you are like the rest of the people I know (myself included)....every little bit of money helps. So, you shouldn't feel bad that you earned some extra money.

I've got to tell you, I would probably start out being so ticked off, I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut for long. Then, I'd feel upset that my husband kept something like that from me. It would hurt my feelings no matter if I knew that he wasn't throwing the money away on frivilous things or not.

Gosh, my post probably didn't make you feel any better but I mainly wanted you to know that I can sympathize with you. It's always nice to have a place to rant whenever we need to.

You are so right about it all. But I guess I know it's not worth a fight. We have been doing great with everything right now, and I just don't want to ruin it. I probably wil lsay aomething about it, but not in a way to start a fight.
I think it's the disneyadict in me that keeps thinking run with this money and go to Disney. LOL . He probably knows that too. I know it could be a big deal, but my teeth stuff cost close to $3000 so I just look at it as that is now paid off. I just wish he hadn't been sneaky about. But then again, he might not have been, because he sometimes just doesn't tell me stuff and when I ask ,he says well you never asked about it.
I just had to do a little venting.
Thanks for listening.

I thought I would pop on to tell you all we have converted Claire's crib/toddler bed to a full size bed this week. She is very excited to be sleeping in a big girl bed now. Here a re few quick pictures of her in it her first night. We got Ariel bedding and she loves it.

She decided last week that she was too tall for her toddler bed (and she really was) and so we told DH we needed to take the plunge. Byt Sunday DH told me to go mattress shopping, on Tuesday we bought one , and then went bedding shopping and had it together Tuesday night for sleeping!
She is so excited about it, but Tuesday night was not a good sleep. She was up half the night coming in to tell us about her bed. So Last night Skip slept with her, so hopefully to calm her excitement and any fears as well. It worked well. :thumbsup2
I still have all the junk I dragged out of her room in my living room. I need to sort and store it, and trhow stuff away as well. But with her "help" it is going slowly. :confused3
The funny thing is, this bed is REALLY high off the ground, so she needs a step stool to get in and out. LOL! :rotfl2:

One other "happening", was last weekend, Claire's school put on their annual musicale. It's been going on for like 40 years I think. I was in them when I was a kid. Just a bunch of songs sang, usually in a theme. They were more elaborate back when I was in them. My Aunt was the music teacher, and the whole thing was her life basically. Now they no longer have a music teacher at the school, so each teacher works with the class.
Claire's song was "he's got the whole world in his hand" and they were to dress in different walks of life. Like different nationalities or professions. So I had Claire wear her Jasmine costume. Her good friend borrowed her Mulan costume.
They had a performance on Friday night, and Sat. afternoon. So far I only have the Sat one edited, so here are a few.

These are a few from the classroom while waiting to go onstage. I stayed in the room to help out.

Hi Jen,
I've started reading your trip report from the last page working back, and I plan to read it all, but I'll go start at the beginning now.lol Claire is such a cutey! The pictures of her on this page in her Jasmine costume are major cute, as I'm sure all of the pics of her will be.

After many Disney trips since my 17 year daughter was 1 year old, we (my kids) decided to take a break this year from Disneyworld. I use the term we loosely because it wouldn't take much for me to get on the phone and make a reservation! I understand that they really need this break, but it's so darn hard! I can sense how much you want to go back to DW, and I kinda know how you feel.:goodvibes

We also know some peopl with a DD name Claire and her middle name is Olivia!

Thanks.
I'm not good to ask about itchy dresses, because Claire will take beauty over comfort. She did say a few times she was hot, but wouldn't take it off. With her Ariel Wedding dress she wore at HS she did get too hot and changed to a sundress.
I do think most of the dresses look itchy though. LOL

Remember that venting I did a while back back about the tax refund?

Well I got an update on that.

Yesterday Skip came in for lunch. He was feeling frisky (I swear when isn't he? LOL) and I told him I was busy and Paige was coming over soon, etc. So I went outside to pull weeds in my flowerbeds. A few minutes later he opened the door and said "get in here now". I'm like what? And he said "get in here now. I just looked at my checking statement and you need to see this...and now you have to...." I was like why would I have to >>>> because of a checking statement? LOL!
So I go in and he points to the line where it says deposit from IRS. He is just all giddy. I said I know all about it. And he looked puzzed and said "You did? I didn't". He had no clue we got a refund. LOL! He said he just went and picked up the papers, asked what he owed and they said nothing. So he put them in the drawer and never opened them. So of course I questioned how they got his bank account to direct deposit, which he had no clue, but then we wondered if they just took it off his check that he wrote to pay for services.
So he was so funny and practically jumping all around. So I said I was almost really mad at him for hiding it, but I decided not to be. And we laughed about how I could've been really nasty and he would've never even known why. :rolleyes1

So of course I mentioned..."you can now pay off last years trip in full (plus some) and says you're right, we'll be back to scratch....Which I said. Now we can plan a December trip...and he just smiled....
So It wasn't a no.....theres a glimmer of hope! YAY!

On another note, I have been saving moeny whenever I can and putting it in a "secret" place. I have $800 plus saved, and a few giftcards too.
So now I'm really hoping they offer free dining for Dec like last year or i get a PIN for it again ,like I have for the last 2 years.
Ironically I have had 3 or 4 pins now for free dining over the summer. The latest one arriving last night. I hope they keep them coming. LOL!

I am sure that you feel lots better knowing that Skip wasn't actually hiding the money from you. You need to head over to the Codes & Rates forums. Canadian Guy has the scoop on when they think free dining is going to be released. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

A Mini Trip Report from our waterpark adventure!

My birthday is in Feb. and Skip had said we should go to a local waterpark for something fun to do in celebration of my birthday. Tell this once to Claire, and she'll NEVER forget.
My birthday fell on a Sunday and I think it was Presidents day weekend as well. The park just didn't seem like a good idea that weekend. (it is only open on weekends, though you can stay at the hotel any day of the week) So we kept saying next weekend, and then something came up, or things were already planned.
So I suggested Spring break. We also looked into Kalahri and Great Wolf lodge which are about 1 1/2 hours away. But it just came down to being close to home for Skip, so we booked Splash Bay for last Sat/Sun.

So Sat. arrives and Claire can hardly contain herself. I am not a big waterpark fan at all. I had a mishap years ago at one and fell hard and really scraped my knees badly, while in the meantime Paige had left the area. So through tears and pain, I was searching for Paige, who had gone to a completely different section in a blink of an eye, and I had blood running down both my legs, which took months to heal. (it was just awful and I didn't explain it well, but you get the jist) I also hate the wedgies you get going on a slide. Nothing fun about it to me, but I am ALL about hottubs!

Skip said we would leave around 1 or so. I can't remember the exact time we did leave or when we go there, but I think it was around 2 or so.
We checked in and got our room..... I happened to see a lady I know checking in too. She is selling her house and it was being painted. She had family in town, so they came over to the park for the night. Small World.

We took our bags into the room and got dressed into swimming suits. I was immediately depressed at what a cow I look like. I have gained a few pounds since last year. Not alot, but enough to make me even more jiggly. (Note to self...STOP EATING ICECREAM!)

We went down to the park , and after some hunting, found a chair to place our towels and bag on. I decided to just keep my shorts on for awhile and take pictures of Skip and Claire.

Here she is all ready to find some fun!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/basic%20photos/gettingready.jpg

And after a walk around looking to see what to do, her and dad decide to try some slides.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/basic%20photos/whattodo.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/basic%20photos/letslide.jpg

And then you hear a blood curdleling scream of glee and Claire appears at the bottom.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/basic%20photos/weeeeeeeeeee.jpg

She LOVED it. Next thing I know, I am getting drenched....Skip came down and quite a wave of water came with him. LOL!

Then it was off to try the other one.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/basic%20photos/onemoreslide.jpg

Alot of time was spent here. Claire really loved these slides. And about 95% of the time each time down was accompanied by that scream. :rotfl2:

Glad to hear it was a misunderstanding about the refund I bet that makes you feel alot better about things. I'm realy glad to hear Skip didn't say no to a trip this time. Good luck!

It looks like Claire was having the time of her life at the water park! I don't like them that much either except for the lazy rivers. River loves them and I feel bad about not taking him to the ones at Disney.

I left off with Claire having lots of fun Squealing down the slides.

Skip decided to go try the big blue slide on the other side of the buiding. So I put the camera away and came back and watched Claire go up and down over and over.

After a bit he came back and said it was fun and I should try it.....Uh...NO! LOL!

He then said that Claire could ride the raft slide if an adult was with her. So he took her over there. I grabbed the camera again and sat waiting for them. It's next to impossible to know when they were coming. I couldn't see them on top and the tub was yellow and most of the ride wound outdoors anyways, so I just had my camera ready for each person that came out. I did learn that a big wave of water comes out right before someone pops out.

I took a ton actually, but I was using my point and shoot and it's seen better days, so I won't bore you with some of the blurrie ones. LOL

They floated around the lazy river then that connected to the slide pool. I decided it was time for the hot tub. I saw it had an indoor and outdoor one and they connected, but the connection was blocked by a gate. But there was adoor to the outdoor one. I decided on the indoor one so they could find me easier. It was nice, but actually wasn't as hot as I think it should've been. But still nice. A ton of people though.
ALOT of kids. and not kids with there parents. :scared1: It seemed that alot of kids thought this was just a warm swimming pool and were goofing around. But being the "nice" witch I can be. (LOL) I would politely let them know if they splashed me or got a little wild that this was a sitting pool, and people were here to relax. And they would stop or move to the other end.

Skip and Claire found me. I think they had hit the raft slide a few more times. We all sat for awhile and it was so nice. I told Skip about the door to the outdoor one, and he wanted to go out there, so we did. It was nice, but again a ton of kids. And I was the nice reminderer of pool ettiquette to them when needed.

Skip then decide to do the "toilet bowl". It's a big red slide that spits the person into this red bowl and they slide around then then out the bottom where there is a whole.
I pushed Claire in the lazy river...brrrrr...that was cold after the hot tub, while Skip went on it. We got to the river area where he would be spit out and we waited and laughed. You could see his shadow going around in the bowl.
We hit the kiddy area for just a bit more. They had spray things and Skip was trying to get me standing at the edge. :confused3 He came back walkingtowards me and this little boy walked up to him and reached his arms up to him. It looked like he thought Skip was his dad, Skip started to bend down towards him, I guess to see what he wanted...and the kid gave him a tiddy twister. LOL Both hands grabbed right for his man ****s! :lmao::rotfl2: Skip caught on quick before much damage was done. Claire and I were laughing so hard! (and yes Skip does have a bit of man ****) :rolleyes1

I was getting a bit hungry, so I ran up to the room for some money and came back and took Claire to get some Nachoes to share. Just the cheap kind. Nothing great...in fact I thought the chips were stale and the amount of cheese they gave us was hardly nothing.

Skip had gone outside to smoke and then met back up with us. We went back to the outside hot tub and Claire and this little black boy became friends. He was hilarious, but he had been in there the whole time we had been there. And no adult around. So we got to talking to him. He told us he was 7...much to young to be left in a hot tub alone all day. I asked who he was here with and he said his brother Franklin was having a birthday party there. I asked how old Franklin was, and he said an age and then said no he's 7 like me. We're twins....OK wouldn't that make it his birthday party too? And he said "OH yeah it's my birthday too." So then we knew "Franklins brother", as we now called him, was a bit of a BS'er.
We decided to take a rest and get ready to eat some supper and headed back to the room.
We got dressed and Claire started watching HighSchool Musicale 3. She looks so tired, but actually her eyes hurt from the clorine. I tried to get some shots of the room too.

Well I had the upgraded account with photobucket. I got it last year as I kept going over with the TR....it expired recently...and wouldn;t you know I got an email this morning that said I was about to exceed the width, and then 2 seconds later one that siad I did! LOL!
Last year when I got it I did the trial offer of joining the movie club and buying some Disney movies. it worked well for me. But I certainly didn't want to do that again, I still have 1 or 2 movies to buy to finish my commiment. So I thought of letting it go to the 1st, but that would mean about 10 days with no pictures.

So I decided to take a look at the trials...and I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. I had actually planned on making Paiges graduation party invites today on Vista print. We're just doing postcards with the basic info on them. Well I found I could order something off Vistaprint and have my upgraded account reinstated, so I did just that. So I didn't have to spend any money that I wasn't already going to spend today anyways. It all timed out very well. If I hadn't gotten that email, I would've ordered without any such deals.
I was actually going to do it 2 days ago, but I have had connection problems with the interent, so I waited (got the cable guy coming out tomorrow to see whats up)

Ok, I'll do another update now!

Claire and Skip were watching High School Musical, so I decided to run out to the car and also take some pictures.

I went back inside and was about to snap this next picture when I hear, "sorry maam, no pictures allowed in here" ..so I quickly snapped it and then looked. LOL

Remember earlier when I said I ran into a lady I know at check in...well she and her Daughter were in the bar area...and she was just messing with me. It's been awhile since I have seen her, even though she now lives kind of near me, and her DD is in School with Paige. So we talked a bit and then I went on my merry way.

Back in the room, Claire was still watching TV. She looked awful though. I figured she was wiped out from all the fun

I shot a few pics of the room again. Here is her pull out bed

Excuse my shirts on the desk, ....was letting it dry out.

We then decided it was time to eat. Claire was just so exhausted by this suggestion

But she made it!

I am soooo behind in my subscribed threads. So sorry I haven't made it over to comment yet on the water park installment. It certainly looks and sounds like Claire had a great time as did Skip. I often wonder why parents just let their kids go wild and not keep track of them.:sad2:

I now have four photobucket accounts. I am just too darned cheap to pay for an upgrade. Good to hear that you didn't have to pay to reinstate your's. Looking forward to seeing more pics.

You and I must have been posting at the same time.

Isn't it neat how you can run into somebody that you know even when you aren't in your hometown? Like you said, it's a small world.

Poor Claire does look really tired. I am sure it's because of all the energy she spent running around the water park. Swimming always makes me tired but hungry.

I'm behind too on alot of threads. My internet keeps going out. Supposedly no one in my are has this problem but me. I had this problem off and on and in March they came out and replaced the modem box, hoping that was the problem, but evidently it wasn't. It was off more than on on Tuesday and yesterday just fine. Today it has gone out again a few times. Very frustrating.

We later fine out that Claires eyes are burning from the chlorine. And she had much more energy thant I thought she should. LOL!
I'll try to update later today or tomorrow. We have dance class this afternoon, and I have a few errands as well. I really need to get in the shower and get out of my PJ's now! LOL!

LOL! Yes. Claire asked him the other night about going for her b-day again. I was picking up stuff, and edged over nearer to him to hear what he would say.... :rolleyes1 He said that would make it a really special birthday wouldn't it. and they talked a bit about it. So there is a little hope. I think we are slowly breaking him.

I left off with it being time for dinner.

We went down the hall to the elevator to take the short trip down 1 floor.

The restuarant was empty. I think it was around 5:30 or 6, so a little early for crowds.
We looked over the menu. I beleive Claire got chicken strips. Kids eat free with an adult! Skip was getting a fish sandwich. I debated over Ziti, but Skip kept saying they have Frog legs, which he knows I like, so I ended up getting that. Of course Claire thought that was funny.
While waiting Claire kept crying about her eyes burning. This is when we realized that she wasn't tired, but that her eyes hurt.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/basic%20photos/sotired.jpg

Skip and I talked about the water, and I mentioned that some got in my mouth and tasted like salt water. He said the same thing. Thats weird, as we are no where near an ocean. LOL!
After some crying I took Claire up to room to wash her eyes out with a wash cloth....hoping that would help.

But that leasted about 5 minutes.
So I went to the gift shop and they had eye drops and bought those. Of course it was not easy to get those in here eyes. But we got a few drops in and things seem to be a bitter after that.

The dinner was good. Not the greatest, but still good and the prices were decent. Claire got an icecream sandwhich for dessert with her meal.

Back to the room we went and rested for a short time. Claire was ready to get back to the waterpark, so any resting done wasn't enjoyable with a 5 year old begging to go back constantly.

Back down we went for a little more fun.

They did the tube slide again, and I took some pictures. I don't think I went in the water this time around...can't remember for sure. (sign of aging. LOL)

I left off with Skip and Claire in the lazy river after the big tube slide...

They then headed off to the hot tub again.

I went and snapped some pictures again

Claire's eyese were bothering her again, so I went off to the gift shop and bought her some goggles. That seem to help ALOT!. I guess she opens her eyes all the time under water. We told her not to, but she said then she wouldn't know where she was going. Makes sense. LOL!

We played till about 8:30 or so and then headed back to the room.
Here's a couple short videos I took. I was hoping to get her scream when going down the green slide, but of course that was about the only time she didn't scream.

Back at the room we watched alot of Wizards of Waverly Place. I think a mini marathon was on. Claire looked exhausted, but at 11 I had to tell her the TV was going off. I think she would've watched it all night.

Skip fell asleep pretty early. We were aonly about 20-30 minutes from home and he was getting up at 5:30 to run home and take care of some "cow" business.

I slept awful. The bed was pretty, but very hard.
Skip got up, went home and returned about 9:30. He said that he bet no one in that hotel did the things he did that morning. LOL! He delivered a baby cow for one thing.

When Skip got there we went down to the restuarant and got some breakfast. It was just OK. It was a buffet, but alot of stuff like boxed donuts on it. But it did the job and we were full.

We went back to the room, packed everything up. I took it out to the car and Skip and Claire headed back to the waterpark. The I joined them. I mostly lounged in the hot tub. Skip did talk me into going down the big tube slide with Claire. We start going down, and she just about flies off. Scared the crud out of me. Needless to say, I didn;t think it was fun. I was in fear she would fly off again. I held her arm with a death grip the rest of the way down.
After an hour or so I changed back into clothes, and shortly after Skip was ready. Claire wasn't, and cried the whole ride home. Non stop. Lovely!
We did get her mind off it a bit by talking about perhaps visiting a waterpark at Disney next time we go. But it didn't help alot.
Then were home, and I unpack and pretty much had a lazy day.
I did take pictures, but they are pretty much the exact same as what I have posted already, so I'll skip posting more of those.

Sounds like a fun getaway besides Claires eyes burning and her crying on the way home ( I know just what thats like). Skip gets the award for most original thing to do on vacation- leave and deliver a baby cow!

Yeah, it was nice. I imagine if Disney was that close to us, he would do the same then too. LOL
