I decided to head over to Mexico and see how long the boat ride line was. It was practically walk on last year, and though it’s not my favorite in any way shape pr form, I thought it would be something nice to do while waiting. :hippie:

Why are you doing so much laundry on vacation!? Every other day it seems like you're at the laundry area. LOL
I love the topiary pictures. So so cute! I can't believe you didn't do the Behind the Seeds tour! That is so much fun! It was a good bit cheaper when we did it three years ago but still worth a shot if someone hasn't tried it yet. We had the best guide on our tour.
Whoa! You called the second person a photographer!? If she can't even frame out the background right I think she is in the wrong profession. WTH is up w/ that? I think it's great that they took so many pictures! I love the ones who get like that. I just wish Disney would use a higher camera setting. They use the lowest possible and when ya try to enlarge the pics it gets grainy. I hate that. My favorite is the BBB family shot! That's a great pic of you guys! Did you get any in the rose garden?
I have to ask....is Claire still wearing the pink hair on a daily basis? I think that's the cutest thing ever! You can not say you didn't get your monies worth out of that one!

LOL! I actuually only did laundry twice, but I checked it one other time. I found that if I do it, then I don't have to bring so many clothes. It works well for us, and since DH and DD usually sleep longer than I do, I have time in the morning. I just put it in and go check it every so often. Less clothes means more room in the suitcase to bring home things. LOL!
Yeah that second photographer wasn't all that good. Why do they put someone like that to take portraits?

Those are great pictures of Claire. She looks like a real princess. I love that dress. The pictures of you in front of Spaceship Earth are great as well.
The Mexican boat ride may have been my son's favorite ride. He is six. But, we didn't have any bad odor to mess our ride up.

I'm still loving your TR and it's giving me great ideas for our trip in Sept. Did you have a preferred room at POP, and if so was it worth the extra $15 a night? We have a DD(4) too, and we're trying to decide where to request our room to be.
I also love your idea of doing laundry and saving room in your suitcase, was the laundry room ever busy where you had to wait for washers and dryers? Thanks again for this great TR I'm hooked! :goodvibes
BTW, My DD now wants the red Belle dress as well, maybe you can get a commision from Disney! LOL!

Your Welcome :) Thanks for the information on the dress unfortunately we don't have a Disney Store anywhere near us , the closest one is about 3 hours away and I don't think I can convince DH to go that distance for a dress :sad1: So she may have to do without :( Do you know what the price is on clearance off hand , I looked it up on E-bay and they want around $80 , which I thought was a little much :confused3

I think it's worth it if we get poolside first floor, because that is what we like. Now if we got an upper floor, I wouldn't like it so much and just do standard.
So far we've been lucky to get what we requested.
The laundry room was really crowded when I went in one evening, but when I went early mornings there were hardly anyone there.

Our store's clearnace price was $59.99 and then an additonal 25% off.
The full price was $79.99, but it was on sale when I bought it online, (and not on sale at the store at the time) so I got the shoes, the dress and shipping for less than that.

Next I went to Norway. Again I figured I see how long the wait for Maelstrom was.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/troll.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/viking.jpg
It was walk on as well, so I rode it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/maelstrom.jpg
After this, I figured I’d better not go too far back into World showcase, since it was getting closer to our meeting time. I worked my way up to Test track to check out the wait time. It was pretty long. Being that it was close to our FP time for Soarin, I tried to see if the machine would let me get a FP for Test track. Nope. Too early. :rolleyes1
I then worked my way back over to the land. We had agreed to meet between 12:15 and 12:30. The Behind the Seeds tour was supposed to be 1-1 1/4 hours long.
I got over there and saw no sign of them. So I went back up and out and got a drink out of the stroller. I headed back down and took a potty break, and still waited.
They finally came out at 12:45. Claire was so excited. She kept telling me she was a good girl, which Skip then told me how many people commented on how good she was. LOL! :lovestruc
They told me a little bit about it, but I don’t remember too much.:confused:
We then got in line for Soarin.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/soarin.jpg
Soarin’s wait wasn’t too long. It was super cool. In the pre show they said to take off your hats and DH wasn’t going to, but Claire insisted he did. LOL! :laughing:
The flying was really neat. Claire just squealed with glee. She loved flying. She said when we went over the ocean she got wet.
Now I have heard they have some effects like this…..like you can smell orange blossoms while going over the orange orchards….but I never smelled anything or felt anything, so not sure if Claire really got wet or not. LOL! :confused3
We got off really excited and so happy we finally had a chance to try this ride out.
We then headed over to Test Track and got fast passes. The line was still long and our FP’s were for 3:55.
We decided to split up then. I told Skip he should ride Mission Space. We’ve never rode it and I was afraid I would get motion sickness. (I later found out my mom rode the easy side in Feb and loved it and she gets much sicker than I do, so I should’ve ridden it. LOL :rotfl2:)
So Skip headed that way and Claire and I were going to World Showcase to find some characters. I decided to start in the UK.
We asked a CM where the characters were and she said go around to the back of the Toy store, so I did; literally go to the “outside” back of the store. LOL! And I almost walked in the exit door for the greeting. :rolleyes1 LOL! OOPS! :flower3:
So we then went around to the inside and got in a short line for Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger. I shot this while waiting.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/marypoppinsblocks.jpg
Claire was still on the kick about getting a special toy to replace Simba for the day. I told her once we were done would could look around the store.
I also asked if any other characters would be in the UK, and they told me that Alice and Mary Poppins would be outside around 2.
Our turn!
These are the ones I took.

After visiting Pooh and friends we went back around to the front of the store to pick out something for Claire.:banana:
She immediately chose the Cheshire cat. He was cute, and for several nights she slept with him too, but a few days after we got home he has dropped down to just sitting on the bed, and not loved so much. LOL! :lovestruc
Since we had a bit of time before Alice and Mary came out, we decided to go see if Belle was out. This was one person Claire really wanted to see. We stumbled upon Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) in France, with no one in line for her.

I was more of a tomboy as a kid, so to me Pooh was the ultimate. I did like Cinderella, but I don't remember ever seeing her that trip. It was in 1974 and Disney had only been open like a year and a half. I also remember being really disapointed with Cinderellas castle because you just walked through and couldnt see her in "house" at all. LOL!:rotfl:
Way back then there weren't as many princesses either, so I don't think that was the "in thing" like it is today.
I also remember really wanting to ride Dumbo that trip and my mom told me later we would as the line was too long, well later never came. She kept putting it off, and those were the days with tickets for the rides, and by the end of the day we were out of tickets for Dumbo's class. I was so upset.
My goal in life was to ride that stupid ride. LOL!
In 1995 I went with my firend and she wouldn't wait in the long line. In 1997 I took my two older kids with my mom and we got in line and were next to ride and a bad storm came through and they shut it down. So we didn;t ride it that year either. In 1999 we went again, and FINALLY I got to ride it. LOL!
We didn;t ride it this year, but have we have rode it the past 2 trips and I've been so happy. LOL! :dance3:

We were off to see Belle and Beast. And we got in line just in time. They cut the line off with only one family behind us. The wait wasn’t too bad, but not super fast either. We had been spoiled with the first couple of greets that day.
I shot this while waiting.

Skip called while we were in line and said he was in Mexico getting a margarita. :drinking1 I told him we would be heading to the UK next, which was at the total opposite end of where he was, and he could meet us over there.
Then Claire got to meet her other favorite princess. She was a little intimidated by beast at first, but warmed up to him fast and she was so happy to see Belle. :dogdance:

After Beast and Belle we headed back to the UK to see Alice (again LOL :confused3) and Mary Poppins. On the way over Claire suddenly decided she did not want to see Mary. :confused: I guess mostly because she really has no clue who she is. I told her that dad would go with her and that seemed a bit better to her.
Skip beeped me and said he was in Ireland :confused:, and wanted to know where we were, and how much further. LOL! :rotfl2: I told him there wasn’t an Ireland there. And he insisted that was where he was because there were pubs all over. LOL! I told him nope, that’s the UK. Claire announced she was hungry then. We decided on fish and chips. I wasn’t too sure if Claire would like fish or not. She has had fish before, but is kind of on the fence about it.:cool:
We got one order and sat down and then Claire had to potty, so I took her. On the way back I decided I was kind of hungry too, so I got another order so there was more to share. LOL! :banana:
Claire only ate a couple of bites of fish and wasn’t to impressed, but did gobble up the fries. A very healthy lunch for her! :ssst:
We then kind of wandered around World Showcase. I would’ve liked to go into some of the places and see what they are all about, but I knew Skip and Claire really didn’t want to do that.
I did take a lot of pictures while walking.

We saw Genie out in Morroco, but Claire didn’t want to see him. We saw Snow White and Dopey out, but the line was long and we were hoping that Snow White would be at dinner.
It was close to our fast pass time for Test Track so we headed up that way. I know I wrote that it was for 3:55, but I mis-wrote. It was for 3:25.

On to Test Track.
I think it took a good 15 minutes to get on the ride. I was worried if it took any longer that we wouldn’t be on time for our ADR, and we still had to change Claire’s clothes. But we did just fine. :wizard:
The last time I rode this was 10 years ago, and it had just opened. That line was EXTREMELY long! :crazy2: LOL! Skip has rode it the last 2 years though.

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/540/waitingfortesttrack.jpg
I was talking to Claire the whole ride, telling her what was going on and saying weee, and this picture has my mouth wide open looking really dumb! LOL! :p
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5851/testtrack.jpg
When we got off, Claire said she had to potty. And she was holding herself, which meant we’d better hurry. LOL! S owe ran through the stupid show room and gift shop you have to go through to get out of there. I swear this kid has eagle eyes. As we are running she starts crying that she wants this test track toy we went by. I told her we would come back, but right now the potty was more important. I have no clue how she saw it that fast, but she was describing everything in it on the way to the bathroom. LOL!
So we made it to the bathroom and got her changed into her Jasmine outfit. We came out and immediately she was ready to head back to get that toy. LOL! And she was right, it had all the stuff she described in it. It was really a good price though, so I didn’t feel to bad getting it, and again, she had a lot of spending money.

What do I do in the parks??? :confused: Next trip these are ALL a must!!! Great update! Love that Claire can spot a toy even when in "distress" :rotfl:

LOL!
In 1995 I went with my friend and she wouldn't wait in the long line.
LOL! :dance3:
We went to Disney back in 1994 for the first time and I don't really remember seeing many Princess or face characters period .
Wow you really had a time getting your ride on Dumbo :laughing: I didn't know they use to give individual tickets like a carnival when they first opened , wow how things have changed with time !
Great update :thumbsup2 Love all the character pictures, that's something we are going to try and do more of this year . In past years we have just zipped right by them figured it would be easier than trying to entertain kids in line but now the oldest are 5 and almost 4 , I figure we will have better luck w/ them in line. Were also gonna get the photo pass CD so I want to make the cost worthwhile . Finally I'll get to be in pictures ! :lmao:

(Well, that and the end when ya fly over Disneyland) Ya know I never realized how high we go up on that thing 'til last time. We were in the front row and I looked down...won't do that again. Keep eyes forward! LOL That's cool how you mixed in pics of your older kids. I love retro Disney stuff!

I hate to admit it, but I too think that Alice was kind of ugly. But Claire liked her.

The pictures of Claire and Belle and the Beast and really cute. I like the one where she is looking at him. I am hoping to try the fish and chips this year. Is the fish really greasy? Also, I am admiring your photopass pics and I agree it gives you a chance to get in them too. There are 5 groups of us going and we are going to share the CD. How soon in advance should I order the CD? Four of the groups are going the same time, June 7-14 and one group is going the last week of June. Any advice will help!

The photopass pre order code wil lexpire 6 days from purchase, so don't order it too early. I would either order it right before you go (I think I did mine a day or 2 before we left) Or do it when you get home.

My husband just has no clue sometimes. I bought him sandles when we were first married and he would wear them with socks like that. UGH!
Claire really liked Test Track. That was one ride we HAD to ride. Skip has rode it the last tow years without us, so she has called it Daddy's ride, so it was a must for her to ride Daddy's ride this year.
I can't beleive all the detail she saw in that toy as we zoomed by it. In the bathroom she kept telling me "it has Goofy and Mickey and I need them." LOL! And sure enough it did.
I just posted at the same time you did, so if you missed it, I have a picture of her proudly holding it.

You know, I have to say in all the time I've ever been at Disney, I've NEVER been told "only 2 photos". You spend a lot of money and effort to get there, and I don't like my odds of getting a good one with only two.
Did the restaurant seem unusually busy or the line seem unusually long? What time were your ADR's?
I'm afraid I would've fired off about 10 before they could even say a word........
I'm SO glad you got some good ones! I HAVE also learned that whild most photopass photographers are good, some are not. So I almost NEVER leave it entirely up to them........

I meant she would only take two. I did take 3, but we did kind of seemed a bit rushed. Our ADR was for 4:20, it was busy, but they were only letting a few in at a time. I'm sure the family ahead of us took more than two.
I kind of think she was having camera trouble too, becuase she keot shooting the wall (actually one of the pics on my photopass was of the wall. LOL)
But I did think she was rude. And at CRT they took several. I didn't think either of the ones she took was very good, and mine weren't great either, but I'm still happy we got something.
I should've said take some of her and then we want a family shot too. I wasn't thinking at the moment.

By the way, we did bring Test Track in with us. I was afraid to let it sit out in the stroller and it was a bit too big to hide under stuff.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Since we had the early seating, the Princesses weren’t out yet. Our waiter, who was wonderful, told us they probably wouldn’t be to our table till dessert.
Claire ordered the Hotdog (imagine that. :rolleyes: LOL) with corn and also got a lot of the cold cuts from the cold bar. She was very impressed with the cold bar. LOL! :thumbsup2
I tried several things off the cold bar. It was pretty good. DH said you could just make a meal off of that.
He ordered the Salmon, which I asked “Do you like Salmon?” and he said "I don’t know," so our waiter told him if he didn’t like it he could order something else. He did say it was good.
I got the Kjottkake. It was 2 meatballs that tasted a lot like Kielbasa.
Very good.
Claire nibbled at her food, but she really wanted to see the princesses. I kept walking around the corner as they came out to see who was there.
Just caught up five pages.. been gone this weekend and first thing I did was log on and read your TR... hahhaha.. I think you've got me hooked.. it's like a novel.. can't put it down and gotta read it to the end.. :goodvibes
You took some really great shots at Epcot.. I think this is the most pictures I've seen you take of the scenary and topiaries.. I love it!!! You are so lucky to have seen so many princesses.. well, characters in general.. I had a big discussion with my sister in law the other day about character people and attraction-people.. She is an attraction-person and would pass up the characters most of the time.. I have to have both.. we even made our own autograph book and make it a priority to do character dining and line up characters we haven't met yet... so I'm LOVING all of your pictures.. The one with Pooh and the gang is great.. I love it when you have a picture with a group of characters from the same story.. it just makes the pictures extra special I think...
That Jasmine dress on her is so cute. and the picture with Jasmine is special... You mentioned that you were glad you had her come to your table??? Are there only certain princesses that come around to the tables? Are they different for different days? We'd love to do Epcot on our next trip and this is definitely one dinner we'll have.. Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day...
Are there only certain princesses that come around to the tables? Are they different for different days? We'd love to do Epcot on our next trip and this is definitely one dinner we'll have.. Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day...
I'm glad you are so dedicated to my TR. LOL! :lmao:
I just loved all the topiaries there.
I like both attractions and characters, but this year Claire was more into characters, so met alot more.
At Akershus, they don't have the same princesses there everyday. So I was glad that Jasmine was on that was there. They do go to every table though. My sister had different ones when she went, Well she had Sleeping Beauty rather than Alice. And cinderella has been there alot lately, but she used to never be there. I was hoping for Snow White, bue she wasn't there for our dinner either.
I would have never noticed the socks if you hadn't pointed them out :rotfl:. I didn't know Alice did that dinner, when we went, there was belle, cinderella, mulan, auroa, jasmine, and I think that's it. I'm glad claire had a good time, it was neat to meet all the princess's at once. This was our first dinner when we took our DD last year.
I wonder if she was puffing her stomach out so her pants wouldn't fall down? :laughing:
And yes, I'd recognize that Alice anywhere - I always wonder how hard it can be to get a job as a face character, if some of the people they hire aren't so.... princessy.
Except for Prince Charming, he was very princessy. :lmao: Poor guy, I wonder what he'd think if he knew he was being made fun of on the Dis?
Just popping in to say Hi.....I am living through you and you DD. I have 2 boys so princesses are not so hot in our house! Although my DH thinks they are cute (for totally different reasons!).
I love how you and DH passed DD off to each other. I would have loved that 'alone' time to take pictures and such! Might have to try it on our next trip!
Claire looks so cute talking to Alice!!:cutie:
We are eating at PSB for the second time when we go in 9 days:cool1:
We really enjoyed our dinner last time (2 yrs ago), so I hope it's still as good, and we're kinda picky. We sat in the same general area, near the cold bar, (which was very good) but closer to the windows. We had Sleeping Beauty for the photo, and Belle (in her blue dress), Cinderella and Ariel came around. I was really hoping for Ariel again since my 5 y.o. loves her!! The line is always so long at the MK!! :rolleyes:
My DH wears socks w/ sandels, and we kid him. He just laughs about it!!;)
Oh well, gotta love 'em!:upsidedow
Must be the lighting.;) I am loving all the pictures of the toparies. I am amazed at how they do those. I can't wait to go and see them for myself. One more week and a half.:woohoo:
It is nice to pass her back and forth, we each get some "me" time then. And get to enjoy special time with her as well. We did it the most this year and I liked it alot. We have done it the past 2 years as well, but I think it just worked better this year.
9 days, I am so jealous. I wish I was going again then!
We also got to see Ariel and Cinderella at the dinner. I could've done without Alice and cinderella and brought in Mulan and Snow white.
I have heard they ahve been really mixing up the princesses there lately. And I wouldn't consider Alice one, so I was surprised to see her there.
OMG I would have been so mad about the Belle thing. Why didn't you make them redo your pics? That would have put that idiot in her place! Is she blind? WTH? My kids do a better job with an SLR than some of them do! I like the borders but if the quality continues to go down like this I won't buy another one. Your pictures turned out nicely. Your whole trip report is like a repeat of my 2006 trip and I am loving it for that reason. DD had so much fun. Everything was new to her then. She and Claire would get along so well. We should have called one another! Shame on us. :goodvibes You had a great table there! We sat in the round 5 top in front of that table. The one at the center of the cold bar. I laughed when I read this! We just got back on Sunday night and my DS11 (also) ran into Belle at the Epcot Character area (I think she was maybe on her way somewhere else?) :confused3 Anyways, the two of them struck up quite the conversation and she was asking him if he liked to read which he does and they had this lovely chat for about 2 minutes...then he asked her to sign his book which shocked me because last time he wouldn't even take a picture with any of the "girls". I've actually been lurking in your report for a while now but I thought I'd jump in to shed a little light on that mystery for you. Photobucket (and all image storage sites) give you two things, bandwidth and storage space. When you upload pictures, that uses storage space, but every time a new person looks at an image, that uses bandwidth. So, basically, your photos got too popular for photobucket to handle! :rotfl:
Your bandwidth refreshes every month, though, I'm just not sure of what date, whether it's the same for everyone or refreshes according to when you created your account, etc. You're allotted a certain amount each month (and you get more when you upgrade your account, like you did) and once you use it up, you have to wait for it to refresh for others to see your photos again.
I'm terrible at explaining things, I hope that helps!
Thanks, I just got an email from them about 10 seconds before you posted. LOL! They basically said that each time I add the image to a site, that takes up bandwith, and I did yesterday post all the teaprty pictures on another thread, so I guess I used it up there. LOL! :confused3
I never knew what it was before. I thought it meant storage, but now I know!
I've actually been lurking in your report for a while now but I thought I'd jump in to shed a little light on that mystery for you. I hope it's the same for my DS11 - He keeps moaning when I mention the princess meals. It's not so much that it's a character meal because he seems excited about our meals with Pooh and Mickey. But somehow I think he's be more impressed with all those pretty girls than he lets on.:goodvibes
Hugs, Karen
I think he will like the princesses when he sees them, even if he doesn't admit it.;)
I know what you mean about the Alice dress, DD's came today and trying to get her head into it was a misson. They should of definatly made that part a bit stretchy as the rest of the dress fits fine.
I was going to say...do a free upgrade and the problem will be fixed. I think I ordered Prevention magazine. It wasn't that much. That expires here shortly though. I started it about this time last year.
Next time I go I am bringing everyone's #'s in a book as well as on the phone. I always regret it when I get home and missed Disfriends for whatever reason. I only met one person this time (and she was so darn cool, but still...) I would have liked to have met a bunch of you guys!
After we visited with Cinderella, Claire and I grabbed our stuff and headed out to get the stroller and find Skip. I got to the stroller and picked up my drink I had sitting in it from earlier and went to take drink. I realized the straw was gone, :confused3 so I threw it away. Who the heck would take someone’s straw? :confused: I didn’t ant to take any chances that someone messed with it, so I pitched it.
We found Skip and decided top go back to Germany and see if Snow White was out since we didn’t get to see her at dinner.
We got there and only Dopey was out, but the CM said a new line was forming for Snow White and she should be out in 15 minutes. So Skip and I took turns standing in line with Claire.
Finally she came out and the CM said the Dopey and Snow White would be out together for a short while then Dopey was going in. No Problem for us. I didn’t really care if we saw him or not.
As we got closer the CM again announced that Dopey was going in soon.
Then it came to the people in front of us to have a turn and the little girl was scared to death of Dopey :scared1: , so they let us go ahead, and just waited till Dopey left, which I think was 2 families after us.
Here is what I took…and I took a lot! LOL!
It's an hour. (I also heard the time has moved from 1:30 to 2 now, but still an hour) I would just tell them she is 4. She'll be so close to it anyways. With in a few days to weeks right?
I bet she would. Especially with a firend. That was the one thing I worried about with Claire. She went alone, and I was worried that last minute she might want mommy, but I told her over and over before we went that there would be frineds for her to meet and she did just fine and left me in the dust! LOL!
LOL thats funny.:lmao:
Because of DD's situation my wife is OCD about this kind of stuff. She tells Juliana to hug and not kiss. The characters always seem like they expect a kiss on the nose or something.
Glad my wife doesn't come on these boards because I read a post a while back (may have even been a TR) about a lady's kid getting sick and throwing up while they were at Chef Mickey's. Then a character came over to visit them and the kid was kissing them. My DW would have been FREAKING OUT :scared1:if she read this.
On to Nemo next! :yay: Claire usually likes this one, so we headed over there and got in line for that, which was walk on as well.
The queue for this is so long though, so it takes a long while to walk through. I can remember back in the years when it was just "the living seas", with no Nemo theme. I had been there with Michael and Paige and we would start waiting out the door and walk all through the whole queue. Luckily it moved pretty fast, but I don’t think I would ever do that again. :sad2:
Before we walked in I wanted to get a picture of Claire in front of the “fish”. There were some young couples there and they just kept snapping pictures, and I must admit I was kind of getting a bit annoyed as I wanted to just snap one of Claire and get on our way. But then one guy asked if we would like him to take our picture, and we said yes. They actually were really nice and kept commenting on how cute they thought Claire was. :rolleyes1 So my bad, I shouldn’t be so impatient. :flower3: LOL!
Turtle Talk with Crush.
We go in and I sit Claire on the floor in front, and DH and I takes seat a little ways back, but I sit where I can keep her in my sight at all times. I decide that I will get my camera out and ready in video mode….just in case Crush talks to Claire.;)
The girls she is sitting next to were also at Akershus when we were there and they played together while we waited for our name to be called. They were so cute. :lovestruc
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/talkingtoCrush.jpg
Not long into the “talk” Crush asks to talk to the little girl with the pink Sea Anemone on top of her head. :lmao: I quickly turn on my camera. Remember I am the worlds worse video taper. And it was dark too, but not long into it the tables turn! :scared1: Crush Ask Claire who brought her and she says “What?”, :rotfl2: so he asks again and I say “mom and dad.” :rolleyes1
And dang it all that Crush came and talked to me! :eek:
I had the camera in my hands and I just set it on my lap and it was still taping. LOL! :cool2: So you can hear my conversation. I felt so dumb. I’m sure my face was beat red.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQbrTBuGoBA
I was just dyeing. And yes that dorky laugh is mine! I totally hate it. :sad2:
After Crush we walked out the exit queue , which ran along the side of the Nemo rides entrance queue. Claire wanted to ride Nemo again and I told them I would sit this one out. So they hopped over/under the fence and walked on the ride again. :dance3:
I waited for them, which surprisingly wasn’t long at all and then I made Claire take her yearly Shark picture. Well not every year, as I think the line was too long in 2007 so we ended up not taking one.
This is last year’s picture
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2039/sharkmm6.jpg
After that we went outside to decide what to do. We still had a half hour before Illuminations started, but Claire wanted to back to the hotel. I really wanted to see Illuminations, but I could see Skip wanted to go back too. His hip was really hurting him and I swear if I had a wheel chair he would’ve rode in it.
We sat and rested for a few minutes.
Those thoughts go through my head too, and I try to push them out. LOL! I think with us living on a dairy farm, she has a higher tolerence for stuff, which I am greatful. Sometimes I think my DH is a walking germ. :rotfl: But of course she did lick the pool on the bus last year and got a sick, so it's not that high. :rolleyes1
You know I can tell you that we don't live in a sterile world; so actually some of those little everyday exposure to germs do help build up a resistance - :sick: they help you body develop some antibodies.
I loveeee Turtle Talk! Last time we went, my brother raised his hand, and Crush picked him, and he said... "I have to go to the bathroom." :eek: It was funny but a little sad, because we had gone through the handicapped line because of his GAC, and people were going "why is he going in, he's not in a wheelchair, etc" (and these were adults), so I'm not sure if it was nice laughter coming from some of them.
BUT! Then, after everyone else filed out, Crush came back onscreen and talked to just my family for about 5 minutes, and it was amazing! He and my brother were trading jokes, and it was very cute.
I love Disney Magic.
Haha! They got you. I love it! I kid you not....when we went to this the first three times they would always get us! Never take a kid dressed up or one wearing a hat. They get you every time! Anyway, when they'd get the kids they always pointed out daddy! Poor Sidney. So finally on our third visit Sidney makes this big ordeal as soon as they got the kids talking....they get ME! Of course the time he does this I'm breastfeeding the baby! SIDNEY!!!!! NOT COOL!!!! Not one bit. Needless to say I skipped this show the next few visits! We gave in this past trip and did it again. Thank goodness they didn't pick us!
Hey! I followed you over here and am trying my best to catch up!
I love the Nemo note! When I was turning 4 I wanted a baton but my mom told me they were dangerous. We had been to Disney in December (my birthday is in July) and ever since I had been asking to go back. My mom said not until December but I said I wanted to see Minnie Mouse! I came up with the fabulous idea to invite Minnie to my birthday party in the summer and sent her an invitation. I waited and waited and it was finally my birthday and I woke up and found a gift on my kitchen table that was all glittery and sparkly. I asked my mom what it was and she said she didn't know but that it was special delivered that morning while I was asleep. I opened the note and it was from Minnie and said she couldn't make it to my party because she had to be in a parade that day, but she did send a gift and said she would see me in December! I opened the present and it was a baton!!!! Your Nemo note totally reminded me of that :)
Claire is SO cute!!! Plus she has a really cool name ;)
That is such a wonderful story. I wish I would've thought of stuff like that when my older 2 were younger.
I love the name Claire too. I had told DH that if we had a girl I liked the name Claire and he agreed right away, but I think only because he was positive I was going to have a boy. :rotfl2: We never did come up with a boy name then because not long after we found out she was a girl! :woohoo:
Is everyone all caught up now? LOL!
I know a few were just starting out and some were behind.
I will try to update today or tomorrow. We are having nice weather, so we've been outside. Also we went and saw Monsters Verses Aliens yesterday and are going to go see the musical Annie this afternoon. So most of my day today is gone. I promise that by tomorrow morning I will have started another update.
After our rest, we decided to call it a day. Claire wanted to swim yet. :hippie:
We made our way back up to the front.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/spacshipearhtatnight.jpg
We stopped off for a final photopass of the day. :cutie:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/nightatepcot.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/happyholidaysatEpcot.jpg
And then we left Epcot and headed to the buses.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/jenseib/leavingepcot.jpg
As we were walking to the bus stop a family was walking in front of us with 2 cute little girls dressed in princess dresses.
They looked tired and just drudging along. The one little girl was looking down and I could just see it in my head what was about to happen. :idea: This has happened to my Paige when she was little and at Epcot too. :rolleyes1
I said “watch where you are going sweety, look up”…… over and over ….and next thing you know…Bang, she walked right into the pole. Of course she cried and Skip was controlling his laughter. :laughing:
The same thing Paige did, only we were arriving to Epcot and she was looking up in awe. I told her watch where she was going and Bang! right into a pole. :rotfl: I was with my mom that trip and my mom wrapped her arms around her :hug: while she cried, but my mom and I…and of course brother Michael, all laughed hysterically while we comforted her.
We are such bad people. :rolleyes1
So finally we get on the bus and head back to pop.
I didn’t take anymore pictures of the night.
We could see parts of the Illumination Fireworks going off as we rode on the bus.
When we got back to Pop, Skip asked me for his refillable mug so he could fill it before heading back to the room. I went to get it and it wasn’t on top of the stroller, so I looked in my bag. It was gone! :scared1:
Remember how my straw came up missing when we were at Akershus? Well I think that’s when his cup came up missing too. I don’t remember seeing it after that point. I did take my bag out later to look for something and remember seeing my cup, but don’t recall seeing his, when I thought about it. So someone stole my straw and his cup! YUCK! :sad2: I did bring last years cups along too so that I could dump juice in it for Claire, so I went against the rules and gave him one of them and told him just to use it for now. We only had 1 full day left. :confused3
When we got back to the room I got Claire dressed in her Swim suit and out to the pool. I sat at a chair and tried to catch up on the journaling.
Claire quickly made friends with a little girl and they laughed and giggled. :cutie: Soon the little girl had to get out and Claire got out with her. I told Claire to leave her alone now, since she had to leave. The girl’s dad says “that’s OK, She’s showing us her swimming suit”. LOL! What a dork my kid is. :rolleyes:
So Claire then gets back in and is playing with a ball. Some older kids, (2 couples) well I would say in the young 20’s, were kind of talking to her and teasing her about the ball. I think they wanted her to throw it at them and she wouldn’t. They would all laugh.
Next thing you know they are all playing together with the ball and including Claire. :grouphug: They were all laughing so hard. :rotfl2: And then Claire would do silly things and they would laugh harder. It was so funny to watch. Yes my kid can make friends with ANYONE. I even called DH out to watch it for awhile too. I don’t know who was having more fun, Claire or the 2 couples. :banana:
Finally I told Claire it was time to go get dressed and the kids were all sad to see Claire leave. LOL! They all kept saying “bye Claire.” :flower3:
I got Claire dried off and dressed and we went to look for a snack. I was thinking Mickey Bar, but they were out of them at the food court. :eek: It seemed that the food court was out of a lot of good snacks.
I decided then to get the hot fudge sundae. It was good. Claire and I shared it. She dove into it immediately. It was melting fast too, like the ice-cream from the other day, so I think they didn’t keep the refrigeration cold enough in the bin.
Didn’t matter we still loved it.
Skip saw it and asked why we didn’t get him one. Well he never asked for a snack when we went up, so that’s why. LOL!
I told him once we were done we would go get him one. But I found out that they must close it at 11, because it was 11:05 when we got back up there and it was closed. OOPS. :flower3: Skip was a little disappointed. But he said he would get one tomorrow.
We got ready for bed then.
I think we all went out pretty fast.
And that’s the end of day 5!
Paige has always been clumsy too. She also fell on slick pavement that trip and did the splits, and she was standin on a fence(that is no longer there) watching a parade and her legs fgell through and she sot down into a revine. Luckily the pole couaght between her legs or it would've benn really bad. It was the steep area going down to the moat near the castel. I think the fence is soid now, or differently done so kids can't slip through. LOL!
She is 16 now and just a year ago she was jogging down the road and tripped on her own feet and totlaly wiped out. She was so embarrassed. She said she jumped up quickly and looked around to see if anyone saw her and then kept running like nothing happened, but she had blood dripping down her knees. LOL! :rolleyes1
that's nice
Day 6!
Friday March 13
The plans for the day.
Magic Kingdom was the plan!
We had ADR’s for Crystal Palace at 4:05.
We kind of just figured we would ride what we could and take it easy.
I woke up at 6AM. I just couldn’t sleep any more. This was our last full day, and I didn’t want to miss any of it.
I walked up to the smoking section.
I’m gonna add this little comment her.
I had quit smoking for 3 years when I had Claire, but about a year and a half ago, I stupidly started back up. Now I really don’t smoke a lot anymore, Just one here and there, and I smoke them in halves. LOL! Never a full one. So I daily would go to the smoking section, but I would sometimes sit there and not smoke. You just get to talking to the same people each day, and it’s like you start to know them as your vacation friends. LOL! Some are hilarious. And some you go and ask how was such and such the day before.
So this day I got up so early and sat in the smoking section for quite awhile and just gabbed.
One guy, who I talked to each day was telling me how he had lost his refillable mug the first night by leaving it at the pool on a table. The next AM, of course it was gone. So he asked a CM and they gave him a new one. I told him how Skip’s mug was stolen the night before, and he told me, I should ask and see if they would replace it.
He then told me he left his second mug somewhere too, LOL! but was too embarrassed to ask for another one.
So after all the gossip, I went and got a shower, and then headed up to the food court and got some breakfast.
This was going on when I walked in.
I asked a random CM about the mug and explained what happened. She went and got someone and sure enough they replaced it for me. And ironically he gave me the exact same color we had before.
I got some breakfast, and then took it out by the pool, near our door. I journaled for awhile, since I was getting way behind.
While I was eating my breakfast wrap, a stray piece of egg fall off to the side of my plate. Next thing I know, I feel a whoosh, and a bird is gliding by me and swiping that piece of egg right off my plate. Tricky little bugger! LOL!
:lmao:
Paige has always been clumsy too. She also fell on slick pavement that trip and did the splits, and she was standin on a fence(that is no longer there) watching a parade and her legs fgell through and she sot down into a revine. Luckily the pole couaght between her legs or it would've benn really bad. It was the steep area going down to the moat near the castel. I think the fence is soid now, or differently done so kids can't slip through. LOL!
She is 16 now and just a year ago she was jogging down the road and tripped on her own feet and totlaly wiped out. She was so embarrassed. She said she jumped up quickly and looked around to see if anyone saw her and then kept running like nothing happened, but she had blood dripping down her knees. LOL! :rolleyes1
Poor Paige!!:upsidedow I guess that's the kind of stuff my DD has to look forward to!!:rolleyes1
On Friday, she was running down the sidewalk to school and fell and scraped up her knee pretty good... she had to see the nurse for a bandaid before school even started!!:upsidedow And then yesterday she came running into a room w/ a freshly mopped floor (even tho we warned her) and she slid feet first into a door (luckily not head first), but it still hurt! :sad2:
I love your last photo shots at Epcot. The expression on Claire's face is priceless. I always hate leaving a park and knowing we will not be back to that one until the next trip. Your pictures of the spaceship Earth when you are leaving reminds me of how sad I always am when we leave this park. It is beautiful at night.
I did the twist with my nephew when we were there! We got a pin saying something like I did the Twist at Pop. I gave it to my nephew as he was collecting all the pins.
That's a smart bird, he didn't take anything out of your wrap, just whatever fell out! Scary that it was off your plate though.:scared1:
I agree. I think the hardest park for me to leave is MK, with Epcot being second.
I forgot I was going to post some more photopass pictures from our second day.
This was after the photoshoot, when we met Chip and Dale.
Great report today. I finally got to watch the turtle talk video. I loved; and you have a lovely voice. I have so enjoyed the photopass pics too. I didn't know if I wanted to spend a lot of time stopping for them on our upcoming trip, but those cute memories are so worth it.
You are the world's fastest Trip Reporter! I read through all of it last night and this morning. Sounds like you had a great trip. How were the crowds? They didn't seem too bad. I am planning a March trip for Flower and Garden and I just might have to pick those dates!
Dale has the brown nose and his teeth are wider apart.
I think they both have 2, but Dales are spread apart for a more "dorky" look
Ok--caught up again! Quick question--do they always have Photopass photographers when a character is out and about in the parks?
