Yup I done went and did it.. I bought into the DVC. I'm a proud owner of a Bay Tower suite. Was gonna go with Animal Kingdom (because it looks better), but thought "how often are you actually in the room dopey except to sleep?" So I took the tower where I can take a nice morning stroll to MK! PLUS dues are cheaper. So yeah beware of crazy cajun people wandering around CBT.:cool1:

I am totally unfamiliar with how DVC works...just curious, how much does it cost per year and how does it work?
:wizard: Congrats to you! :wizard:

We have it averaged out to 420 a month. You are actually buying the suite, so once it's paid off you just need to pay the upkeep dues (property tax upkeep stuff like that) about 700 a year. You own it for about 50 years.

Your enthusiasm makes me want to add on at BLT, especially if it's going to be party central. ;)

I am sure you know what you are talking about, but I'd really like to clarify to those who are not familiar with the system and see this.

Most buy a fixed number based on their vacation schedules and the point charts currently released by Disney. The plan is flexible in that you don't have a fixed week, but there is no guarantee to what exact room you get and proper planning is needed because there is no guaranteed availability like a fixed week plan.

You can swap out your points for a longer stay in a smaller room, or a shorter stay in larger, use multiple years worth of points, etc, etc.

Dues are based on a per point basis and range from a low of $3.80 to over $5.00, and are due annually and increase at an average of 3% - 3.5%.

Congratulations, BayouMickey!!!

We recently took the tour at SSR but ended up actually buying when we were on our Disney Cruise. We purchased two 160-point contracts for BLT, and ended up with the free 7-night cruise out of the deal.

BTW, I love your "I spent my kids' inheritance" logo... only ours would read "This IS our kids' inheritance". We have 2 kids, hence the 2 contracts.

So beware, because the crazy Cajuns are about to have some crazy Canadians as neighbours. Be afraid.... be very afraid... eh!! :scared1:

And welcome home!!

John
