Has anyone in Canada received one of the 40% off room discount Pin Codes.
I know some have gotten the $500 gift card, but I am curious if the 40% room discount has surfaced here.

I did. I have received one for the last three years. The last one I got was in Dec/08 for certain dates throughout 2009. I booked in Dec/08 for Dec 09 . My travel dates are Dec 13-29. The pin offers goes until Christmas day.

Sign up with everything Disney. I did and it has worked!!!!

We've only ever gotten a PIN this one time though.

We received a 40% code a few months ago and have booked AKL for 8 days in August. Now I am waiting to see if the Free Dining pops up, and then will have to do a bit of number crunching, but either way I think it will be a great deal. The code made me book though, and we were able to get great seat sales on flights ....soooooo..........now the waiting begins until we actually get on that flight!!! So yes , Canadians DO get the codes. Good luck!

The code has to be in an immediate family members name. Disney checks...

I received the 40% pin code via email in October and it is good for a bunch of dates in 2009 but bookings need to be made by the end of March. I also received the one with the $500 gift card through email again. These are the only 2 I have ever gotten so I find it odd that I got two so close to each other...we are taking advantage of the 40% off one and are using it for one of the deluxe resorts.

I received 1 for the first time back in October of 2008. We had just visited WDW in Sept 2008. If we hadn't gotten it, we would not be going again for June.

You can use them more than once too. I received the 40% off one in Oct.08 and used it for my trip in January 09 and then when I got home I re read the email and it said it was good for selected dates throughout 2009 if you booked by March 31, So I booked again for Dec.09. My first trip was $89 per night at POR and for my Dec. trip I got POP for $49 per night. Really wasn't planning on going again so soon but it's hard to pass up those kind of rates, I'm also 20 minutes from Detroit so air fare is usually great.

I received the 40% pin email last October too. We're currently booked with the code for September, but will switch to FD should it become available (that saves us way more than the pin code at a value). :thumbsup2

We have received both codes. We received the 40% off code back in Oct for dates in 2009.

Interesting thing about this is.......
Our past reservations have been in my name and home email address. I wasn't getting any pin codes so I signed up my husband for newsletters on the Disney site with my work email address. I then got the pin codes in his name!!! :cool1:

I wonder if this is because they know we have no expiration tickets and come almost every year......they know we will be back!!

I signed up for about every kind of Disney email you can get but have never received a PIN code.:sad2: Oh well, we have been lucky enough to get Free Dining 4 years in a row now so I guess I can't complain.:thumbsup2

It's funny how this works or doesn't work out. We went 2002,05,06, & 2007 with not even a sniff of a code. Last year took 3 trips, not one to Orlando and have 2 trips planned this year and again, no Orlando. Don't have WDW in our plans at least until 2010, probably later. Codes started coming last year and with our luck will continue to come until the year we return to Orlando.

There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to getting a pin code, honestly. There doesn't seem to be any fool-proof plan to getting on that pin code list, but signing up for anything and everything Disney that you can will at least put your name in their system - that surely couldn't hurt :goodvibes

I received the pin code as well I believe it was back in october but not quite sure I didnt know its only good until the end of March I was thinking of going again in december with the code so I guess id better call disney and see whats available, we are going may 2 to the 9th and staying at the yacht club , but I would like to stay at the poly and figured with the pin that it would be the time to do it. went last December and would like to go at that time of year again so guess I better call today!:woohoo:

I received the 40% off this year. I have been lucky enough to receive PINs several times. 40% in 2007, 30% in 2008 and 40% this year. The one in 2007 was mailed. The one in 2008 was emailed and I was told about the 2009 one by a cast member when I called to book my Sept 09 trip.

do the pin codes or discounts ever be used for Jan/Feb, we never received one but my DB received one at our home but no longer lives with us, and won't be going with us, so we could not use it. It was sent in Mar for weeks this year. Has anyone ever got one in the fall for dates in Jan/Feb/MAr or April. We are planning our week for Jan or Feb but i not sure if they ever release codes for then?:cool1:

We had already booked our trip and I received a code via e-mail about one month ago. We added one day to our CBR stay pirate:and received a $500 GC. With the Canadian Dollar continuing to slide we are very excited to have the GC for our Disney spending money!

We're doing both..6 nights free dining at CSR followed by 3 nights at GF with the 40% code. Hey, it's my first pin and I may never get another so I couldn't bear not to use it!

I received my first one last year. It was for 40% off selected dates, valid for about a year and had to be booked by may. I booked my ticket and then free dining came out which was a better deal so they just updated my res.

I found out after free dining was announced and I was checking my reservation from the Bounceback that my e-mail was incorrect.

I now have it corrected. Maybe I will finally get a pin.
