Uggghhh.....It never ends. More bad stuff with Tyler, but I suppose it's good in a way because the principal called me, but also called his dad too, so if his dad still thinks Tyler would do just fine at camp, he's even more of a moron than I thought.
I received a phone call from the principal at about 11:40. His teacher was out of class for meetings today and he felt he didn't have to listen to the parapros. He was very defiant, and threatening kids, making stabbing motions with pencils, pushed over tables, had to go to the timeout room, took about 20 minutes to de-escalate, afterwards he had to go clean up the timeout room because he had been spitting all over the walls, was unable to remain calm enough to go back to the resource room and was taken to the office to sit with the principal and work on schoolwork there.
The principal says her goal is to try to keep him calm enough to enable him to remain at school today, but she's not sure that will work out in his current state. I don't have to pick him up because it's his dad's day. The principal told me this is the worst she's seen Tyler since he switched schools. Things seem to be building back up with him, so I'm going to request a med increase next week at his med check.
I pray that this is an eye opener for Chuck to finally see that camp is not a good idea right now.

I check with Royal Caribbean and it cost half price from disney Cruise....
the ship called Jewel onthe Sea...
I will talk to my husband because it is pound money, not dollars...
Same date and sailing from Harwick...
Scottishwee35
I think they are good ships for children.
Holly, sorry to hear about Tyler's day at school.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
While I hate that this happened - I really hope that it helps w/ Chuck's perspective.

What is(was) the GF thread? Sometimes the catty threads are fun to read.
Hope you feel better today.
Marilyn... if Ian is going off a cliff... please don't follow him...
Also.. the GF thread WAS the Grand Floridian Faq thread... The girls over there are a bit, shall we say... dogs in the female persuasion. They get in trouble alot and keep the mods busy by reporting every little thing on each other... it's a good thread when they stick to talking about the GF, but when they get OT, they get into cat fights...it's not pretty...
Plus one of the women was "advertising" her own website over there too much... The Dis doesn't like it if you openly do that too much... (I think it's because she opened a travel agency of her own... competiton, you know...
Welcome to Friday!

I'd never get one either that's in a spot where it's covered up because to me, the whole point of one is to be able to see it....sort of like an accessory. :thumbsup2 I've had the one on my arm for 8 1/2 years and the one on my ankle 5 1/2 years, so I had them long before ever working at my current job and I never made any effort to cover them, mainly because I rarely wear shirts with sleeves long enough to cover the one on my arm. And in the summer I wear capri pants and sandals all summer, so the one on my ankle shows at work all summer long. I just can't believe nobody mentioned it when I first started working there. Good grief!

Hey Holly, can you take pictures of each of them and post on here??? I would love to see them.
Can do! :thumbsup2 But in the meantime, here's one from the PC cruise where you can see the one on my arm. But the colors don't show very well because of the bright sun I think. It goes all the way around my arm and the flowers are all different colors with yellow in the center, and green leaves. It's my first one. My ex-husband Nate and I went on the same day to get tattoos in June 2000.

KATHE - (response from the last thread)...
I think a DIS meet at some point w/ you & Serenity and Sydney & I is a GREAT idea! I can tell you tho that it'll be years from now -- Lisa won't allow it before that, and when she does allow it it'll be the entire family is down here, but I'd be able to take Sydney off on my own.
Monica, that's okay, it gives us something to look forward to in the future! I wouldn't want to take Serenity for a few years yet either! I'll probably end up having to take her mom too, especially since she's never been :headache: but I'm sure she would love me to take Serenity off to the park for a day by myself to give her a break :thumbsup2
 Hope everything works out Holly.

BUT..
I need some major Pixie Dust pixiedust: and whatever God you pray to.. please put in a good word for me...
We're days away from getting our project to go through... We've been working on this for almost 4 years and we did get caught up in all the banking crap in the fall... BUT... it's supposed to go through really soon and I'm sitting here on pins and needles...
Please say a prayer because it's a really good project (we're bringing water into the SW of the US...) and we really need to get this thing moving...

Well, I'm headed to bed. I only had diet coke with my friends after work, no Friday night beer for me because my stomach wasn't feeling right towards the end of the day. Then I did eat chips & salsa while out with my friends, but that was a big mistake. I could barely make it to the bathroom on time. Yeah, I know, TMI, sorry. But that misery has continued and I just feel the need to lie down under my covers in bed. Goodnight all!

The exam is done, definitely didn't ace, not even sure if I passed, and I don't find out for 6 weeks!
Shaelyn definitely knows about the trip, my misdirection didn't work.
When Ken picked the kids up from daycare, Shaelyn's teacher said "have a nice trip!" And when Ken put the kids to bed, Shaelyn said "if we go on a trip I can't bring my library book, so I should just finish it".
Darn kid is too smart.

and a dvd player. Our van is nice, it has the ability to play two things at once. The girls can listen to a movie/cd on one channel under headsets while Shannon and I put on what we want to listen to. Both are happy. It is a REALLY nice feature.

Hi All! Not much going on at home here either. John is cooking corned beef and cabbage and potatoes in the crock pot in BEER. He's using a dark stout and it adds great flavor. We're ready for St. Patrick's Day.
Marilyn and Deborah, do you guys celebrate it over there like we do here?
Ken and Shannon (I know you're away, but you'll see this eventually) how about you guys??? Kathe how about you???
I talked to my brother recently and he told me he finally got a permanent placement on a ship in Corpus Christie, TX. That's great news. Now he'll get paid vacation time when he's off the ship and he knows he has a job to go back to. I'm very happy for him.
Sandi sent us an email update. Tom is living with her Aunt down there (her mother's sister). She said he's doing well. He went back into school and will gratuate in May, he has a date for the prom and he joined the local volunteer fire department. I'm glad to hear that he's making some positive progress.

Deborah, I had to laugh about you saying Olivia was like you when you were little...I always worry about Molly dating...I dated TOO Much when I was a teen and I'm very nervous about when she figures out about boys.
I think we all worry that our kids will have our worse habits :rolleyes1
Funny thing here is Molly is so much like Paul and I can't stand it in her, but love him so much for it :guilty: Willie, just like me and I love him to pieces. Not that I don't love Molly of course, I just find some of her traits annoying...it's ok I guess because she isn't loving me at the moment either
Parenting kids who would have thought this is what it would be like :scared1:
We are in for the night. Quite boring here.
Tomorrow Willie and Paul go to the big track (Infineon) to practice, very exciting. I wish I could go, but Molly and I have Girl Scouts. We are bagging up some travel toiletries for a service project. The girls have been collecting them to give to a local house for families that have kids with cancer. Families get to stay at this house while their child(ren) are sick. It's called JW House http://www.jwhouse.org/
Next week we(girl scouts) are going to cook a dinner for the families that are there. Should be a nice event. We are doing all this in preparation for our bridging, which will be in May over the Golden Gate Bridge. Can't wait for bridging event

I ran around doing errands today, went to the library, treated myself to lunch at Chili's & just finished watching "Milk" with Will & Mickey.
Did a little bit of work on my scrapbooking room - still have a ways to go before it looks decent & somewhat organized.

I have a medical (prescription related) question for you (don't worry - I will also be calling the Dr on Monday)....
Can anti-depressants cause rage??  :furious::furious: Real rage - at just about everyone? Yesterday I could feel the blood pumping through my system, could feel my blood pressure rising, and my hands were actually shaking. I at one point was even thinking about walking out of work (after talking to my mgr of course). Coworkers, clients, people on the road - every thing was getting at me. Of course then I clench my teeth more, which leads to a sore jaw & headaches.

Yes, some can.
You may (or may not) remember that I was being treated for the "phantom stale cigarette smoke?" The medication was some sort of antidepressant, that the neurologist had said he had good experience with other patients, who had similar false data symptoms like me.
Well one of the side effects (among others that I won't go into) was increased irritability.
I was much more irritable and lost my temper (getting pretty angry). I finally took myself off the medication, deciding that the "cigarette smoke," though annoying was preferable to the side effects.
I feel much better since stopping, though many times a day, it starts to smell like a smoky bar at 3AM after it's closed and everyone has gone home.

I don't have any tattoo but I like one in picture of the day on lady ankle of Disney but I don't think I ever have a tattoo...
but I do have TWO W at my bum, when you bend down WOW!!!

Hi
Where is everybody???
As it is quiet here
Scottishwee35
Hi Deborah. It is quiet isn't it. It usually is on a Saturday, but more so with a few away on vacation or for the weekend.
Boring isn't it?:rolleyes1
I was reading and took a nice long 3 hour nap! :cloud9: Then after I picked Tyler up, we ate a quick supper and were outside a couple hours doing yard cleanup. It was so warm today, we only needed to wear a sweatshirt! FINALLY! Tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice, so we'll do more yardwork. We did the front yard and one side, including cleaning up the areas under my front windows where flowering plants grow, and I started on the other side of my house alongside the driveway. Tomorrow we'll do right in front of my garage, there's an area with lots of flowering plants and I'm going to pull out all the dead stuff to make room for the new stuff coming up soon. Then we will tackle the back yard. That's the biggest project because tulips come up all along the fence surrounding the back yard, so we need to rake up all the old soggy rotten leaves from fall that we weren't able to clear out before snow came.
If felt go good to be outside in decent weather! We also have to clean out the garage too. Tyler took a couple toy lawnmowers across the street to see if our neighbor wants them for her daycare kids. She was very happy because she has some just the right age for those.

Thoughts??
Yes, they can, but I'm sure your doctor will have lots of helpful info for you. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

Hi Ian!
I do remember you telling us about the "cigarette smoke". Do you still have that often now?
It just kind of freaked me out yesterday.
I don't think I can give up the meds tho.
Yes, I still have the "cigarette smoke," some days more often than others. Sometimes I'll be sitting at my desk and all of a sudden it starts to smell like a bar after closing time.
It happened today when we were out for a walk.
I have come to the point where I just accept it, though it is sometimes annoying.

Thing is with what you save you could have another vacation. You should read some reviews of the other cruise lines and some of their cruises.
Good Morning All!
I'm getting ready to leave for my Sunday morning WW meetings in a bit.
I worked on taxes yesterday. I think today I'll do the electronic filing.
During the week, I ended up getting the Sanyo camcorder that Holly had found. Amazon still had the warehouse deal and were down to 3 units left, so I thought, why not? Plus, it had gone down another 20 bucks. It came out to being $150 cheaper than the list price and $90 less than the normal Amazon price.
It's also tiny and weights 8.4 oz, which is much less than my much older digital-8 Sony camcorder. I did not use it much because it was a pain to schlepp around and taking clips off of a tape could be time consuming. It was an ease of use thing.
I was out and about for a bit of the afternoon playing with it. I took some sample video of Sukie. Not sure I can post it, as it is probably offensive.
Not a bad little camera, better outdoors than indoors, but suits what I wanted. It's palm sized and very easy to take video clips off and onto, in my case, my Mac. Plus it's waterproof, and can be submerged for up to 30 minutes at a shot (to a depth of 5 feet).
Taking video off of it was remarkably easy. Much more like working with photographs than the old video tape. I went from the camera to iMovie, to do some editing, but it's possible to go directly from the camera to Youtube.
It also takes 8 mega-pixel still shots, so it could double for me in pinch for snapshots (I still prefer our Fuji cameras for stills).
I think there will be videos from Typhoon Lagoon during this next trip. I never take my camera because of the fear of getting it wet.
Today is going to be an Ebay day. A few things are going up for sale. Now that we have iPhones, my old iPods are going on the block as is the Sony Digital-8 camcorder. My iPod was a 40gb and Sukie had a relatively new Nano. The Sony Digital-8 recorder is also in fantastic condition, so I'm hoping all three items go fairly quickly.
Sukie has created a new rule at Eastwood Manor .... "If Ian brings something into the house, that means something must leave the house."

BEAUTIFUL day today! We needed our coats on our way to church and there was ice to scrape off my car windows, but by the time we got out of church we were able to go without coats! I opened a window when we got home, and Tyler's going to take his firetruck out for a spin. Then we'll do some more yard cleanup, and will go watch a bunch of firefighters shave their heads for Locks of Love. I always thought Locks of Love needed long hair, so I'm confused, but we'll go watch anyway because I'm sure Tyler will get a kick out of it. Who knows? He might even want to shave his head too! :rotfl2: I'd let him do it, and it would make his dad go through the roof! :rotfl:
Oh, we still have to go buy a shamrock cookie cutter to do cookies tonight. That's not an easy item to find.

THIS is a Public Service Announcement from the Planky Board of Kitchen Safety... :teacher:
When one is microwaving left overs, it is strictly advised that one does not stick two fingers into said leftovers when the plastic wrap on such is blown up something short of a jiffy pop ready to explode...
(for our over seas friends... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTNXpxR25D0)
Doing such can cause scalding of such fingers, causing them to swell up like big old sausages, turn red and make you say things that are only heard on cable TV... :headache:
(I'll give you one guess who did this today...:hippie: :rolleyes1 )
(and you should have heard the words that came out of HER mouth :sad2: :sad2:)
In addition to bad language... lunch was ruined... (what a pity...):guilty:
Our advice to said stupid person  is to spend the rest of the day with her fingers in cool water and to refrain from taking any heavy utensils and beating the microwave up.
This PSA was brought to you by the non-profit Planky Council for Stupid Mistakes... all claims, complaints & product endorsements are the property of the PCSM... Please forward all comments to our offices... Our hours are from M-F 12 noon to 12:05 PM... (be nice to our secretary... she has a boo boo on her fingers... ) Void where prohibited...

Nan  I hope I don't cause you any more distress by telling you that the worrying and stress as a parent never stops :scared1: ;)
Sorry you are missing the excitement of Willie's practice, but sounds like you and Molly have a very worthwhile weekend planned :thumbsup2

Thoughts??
Monica  Sorry you are going through this and sorry I don't have any answers. Definately talk to your dr. I do know a couple of my co-workers have described the same thing, but for them, it is related to hormones and menopause.

Our friend in Atlanta who is going to be there one of our weeks also picked up a couple for me, and another friend did too. I do have some fantastic friends.

Hi Kathe. A very good day thank you. Went to church this morning and that was really nice, then a quick lunch before phoning DVC to book our last 3 nights in October. After that we went off to see our son, daughter in law and little Molly, which was lovely. We haven't seem Molly since the day after Christmas Day and she has changed a lot. She was very cute of course. We had just over 2 hours there and an hour and a half hours travelling each way, so a longish outing.
How about you?

I've worked all weekend, but it has been a very sad weekend. A woman I work with, whom I have known for quite a few years, is having a horrible weekend. Her son was in a horrific car accident late Friday night. The truck he was a passenger in hit another truck head on. He is very bruised but will mend physically...another passenger in his vehicle was killed. So were two young boys, 12 and 13 from the other vehicle. The driver of the truck he was in is charged with all 3 deaths and numerous other charges related to driving under the influence. Both trucks were demolished in fire from the impact. I am so sad for all of them. For the young boys killed in the other vehicle on their way home from a hockey game, for the parents of the young adult killed, for my friend's son who will live with the memory of this terrible night forever, and for the family of the young man who chose to drive while under the influence :sad1: Why, oh why, can we all not make a difference and stop impaired driving? The message is out there, time and time again. It is just so sad and senseless.

Yes, he is very lucky to be alive. His mom said she went to see the trucks, and can't believe that anyone survived. Of course she is very thankful her son survived, but very worried about his emotional state. My son used to work with her son a few years ago. They are close to the same age. He will be very upset to hear of this too. I can't believe his mom was able to come to work today, but I think it helped to keep her mind busy.

We had such a great time today being outside! Tyler was driving his firetruck up and down the sidewalks. He's finally figured out how to steer pretty well, so after him having it for 3 years now, I decided to tell him the little secret about his firetruck. It comes locked into 2.5 mph, but there's a screw you can remove under the shifter that makes it to 5mph. So I did and he was just giggling like crazy at how fast he was going! Well, not fast for adults, but twice as fast as he's used to going, so he was just having a blast! ;)
I did more yardwork, filled a total of 6 big paper yardwaste bags. The front and sides are done, and about 1/4 of our back yard. I have no idea when I'll be able to finish since tomorrow is our late day getting home, Tuesday we're going to one of Tyler's friends' house, so maybe I can finish Wednesday after I drop him at his dad's if the weather stays nice. :thumbsup2 It was nice to see my tulips and lillies starting to pop up when I cleared the leaves away!

I woke up in a start, I was afraid I was late for work and had forgotten to turn on my alarm. It was quite a while until I realized it was Saturday. I even had to go look at my computer to be sure of the date.
I rather like it right now. The total silence in the house.
Oh face the truth. You woke up with a start because yo realized it was Saturday and I was going to be on the road and thus you wouldn't get your tweet from. That's what truly had you concerned. ;)

I'll post more tomorrow, but tonight I'm bagged and ready for bed. We made it down here and I think I got less than 6 hours sleep since Friday. And yes that will include an pdate on how it went with the girls and the big secret!
Tomorrow is first day in the park - I'm even too bagged to post pics (that Shannon took) tonight. Look for an update tomorrow night afte we get back. I'll make this thread mini trip report as we go along...
Night all. Morning Deborah and Marilyn.
