We would like to stay at a Deluxe resort for the last 4 nights of our stay in January (6-9).

I am waiting for codes or DC or AP rates but know they won't be out until around September.

Do you think I need to book now at the regular off peak rate to make sure we get a room? And when the codes come out would I be able to use this same booking to change it to whatever rate I can get for DC etc?

The full price of the Deluxe would be too high, so we would only be staying at a Deluxe if we get a good offer rate.

Is it worth booking now or as we won't be staying at a Deluxe if it's full rate, am I just wasting my time and should I just wait until later in the year?

Thanks :D

I'd book now. You can always call back and get a lower rate when new codes come out, or you can apply the Deluxe deposit to a Moderate or Value reservation if you decide to "downgrade" you reservation.

Since you will only stay at a deluxe with the discounts, I would book what you can afford just in case a discount doesn't come along. For example if you can afford a moderate, pick the one you want and book now. Watch for the discounts then if one looks good switch. If no discounts become available, then you are sure to have a room you can afford at the resort you want.;)

i would book now. we are staying at the wilderness lodge in july at first on an AP rate, but then the codes came out and i could get it lower--which is exactly what i did. they will work w/you.:p

I would book whatever you can afford at an undiscouted rate, so you will have a room. Then if a discount comes out for the deluxe resort you want, book that and cancel the other on you have.

Remember, discount are offered to get guest to book a trip, if the resort is full (or at expectations) they will not offer a discount.

I agree with WDW2002 and SamanthaL... book at a moderate if that's your budget and who knows maybe you'll get offered an upsell! Or like the others said when the codes come out you can book a deluxe.:)
