Alrighty so, I'm a frequent poster to the boards, but rarely to the CP boards. I have to do two internships for my major (sports management) and right now I'm interning with the Philadelphia Flyers. I know that you have to attend a presentation in order to apply for the CP. I see that my school has two presentations - 2/18 and 3/26. Are these presentations to apply for the FALL CP? I would be interning next spring, Spring 2010. Would the presentations for this be in the fall sometime? I'm sorry this is such a dumb question, I'm just very confused! Thanks for any advice!

Hey, it's definitely not a dumb question! Yes, the presentation at the end of March will be recruiting for the Fall semester. However, it is a very informative meeting and if you're considering the program it might be good for you to go check it out, even if you don't want to apply yet. The meeting for the Spring 2010 season will be in the fall, as soon as school starts back up. If you applied to the Spring semester you would be there from January- May. Hope this helps, feel free to drop by with any more questions!

I go to Temple University in Philly. I'm technically a senior, credit-wise, but I'm still in my junior year because of the way classes fall - very annoying!

Just so you know, you don't have to attend an on-campus presentation in order to apply for a cp. There is an online presentation that you can view as well... Hopes this helps...

I am probably going to do this, when the time comes. Thankfully, I have a couple more months to decide!
Thanks everyone for all of the help for my silly little question haha! :flower3:

You'll want to wait until the fall to actually apply. However, you can go to the presentation now and learn more about the program! That way you can start to learn more about it and get to know all the ins and outs. Then by the time you'll be applying next fall, you'll be good to go! In the fall, you'll fill the application out online and most interviews (if not all) are done on the phone now.

Wooo!!!!!!! :cheer2: You know, I wasn't quite sure I'd ever see the day when four of us tiny girls (we're all between 5' 2" and 5' 10" but all under 120 lbs!) would be able to strike fear into the hearts of NHL and AHL players! At the Carnival I think we definitely terrified some of the guys! We were there from like, 6 am, and went home 2am the night before, so when they pranced in and started moving things, well, they got told very passionately "don't you dare!" Haha! It was a great time.

Oh wow, I didn't know I could go to one and not have to internview right after! Thanks for that tip, I think I'm going to do that!

If you interested in an internship more along your major I'd check out these PIs (professional internship). You obviously do not want to apply now, but they may become available again for next spring!

There are many other PIs out there as well that may spark your interest.

Hey just curious, what department do you work in over at the Flyers? I've always been interested in an internship there.
