needing some veteran experience and advice

we are still new at this we are going on our first dvc trip in dec. at our home resort vwl my concerns are we werent able to book the week we originally hoped for we got the second week instead of the first is this pretty much the norm? we are looking forward to stepping foot for the first time at vwl since the closest we have come is by monorail my other guestion is what kind of chance would we have had if we tried to get reservations at bwv or okw within the 7 mos. picture sorry for such a long message but we appreciate any feedback and by the way yall seem to have a great support group we are glad you allowed us in

You should be able to get the time you want at VWL, but in the more peak times you may have to book early in the 11 month window. During certain times (holiday ect...) I would book day by day. As far as BWV & OKW at 7 months, I will let others who have tried answer that.

OKW is quite easy to get at 7 months due to it's large number of units. It all depends on what size unit you want and when. The first 2 weeks of December are very popular at all the DVC resorts. This is a low point time, and the Holiday decorations are up as well as all the Holiday events in the parks. We were at OKW 2 years ago the first 2 weeks of December. The first week was very crowded at the parks but the second was much better. As luck would have it, the weather was better the second week too!:D
