So, we're going for 2 nights in May, got the ddp, we have 2 rooms, so we'll have to have 2 separate checks for paying for DDP, right? My parent's, and then mine, even tho I'm paying for almost the whole trip? I know about the tip, and they'll probably have some wine, and I know that's not covered, but I did just want to clarify that we'll have 2 checks, one for each room. This is my first time using the DDP, so I have the basics, I think!! :) Thanks!!!

I am in the exact same situation and would like to know as well! Is there any way they link (or can link) the 2 rooms for the DDP? It would be so much easier to just have 1 bill, 1 tip, etc.
Also we are a group of 6 adults--4 in 1 room, 2 in the other room. So we will automatically be charged 18% tip because we will have 6 at the table for each TS meal. How do they divide the automatic 18% tip across the 2 bills if we cannot link the DDP? I will be paying for all tips so do they split the total 18% based on the 2 DDP if they do not link them ??
Thanks for your help DIS DDP experts!

we had 2 rooms last year:DH & me in one, DD(19 yrs) & BFF in other. Even though we were paying & DH's credit card guarantee /charging was on both rooms the Dining Plan credits were not linked. Two adults on our card, two adults on their room card. When we ate together,we had to give the waiter one card from each room. On the party of 6, each bill will show the automatic tip of 18%.

If both rooms are under the same reservation, and have the same reservation number, then all your dining credits should be accessible from the room keys for both rooms. If they are separate reservations (each with their own separate reservation number) the credits will be separated by rooms.
Discussion of tipping issue is not done on the main restaurant board, but on the Tipping Information sticky thread. The answer to the question posed is yes, all parties of six or more are charged the automatic gratuity. Separate parties on the DDP eating at the same table, where they are dining with a party of six or more, will be billed for their own tips. Any further discussion of tipping should be referred to the Tipping Information Thread at

I think we have 2 separate reservation numbers for the 2 rooms. That's alright, I'll let DSM know how it works, and go from there! Thanks!!
