This is my 1st trip report.. so I hope someone out there decides to read. We were in Disney from 3/1-3/8 but our trip started on Friday 2/27...... I guess before I start I should let you know the cast. It was ME Tim 31, my DW Melody 32 & our DD2 (2yrs and 352 days her birthday is 3/11)

Some background.....
For years Melody wanted to goto Disney. I was always like 'we'll go someday'. I never really had an interest to goto Disney. Growing up I saw a lot Disney movies mostly because I have a sister who was a little younger than me. But I really felt I would rather vacation in other places. We've been on 2 cruises, Florida, Islands, Hawaii, etc. So we have traveled together.
We got married in September 2004 and in March of 2006 Juliana was born. It was the happiest day of my life and was the first time I ever cried tears of joy. We love being parents and Juliana had a normal first year of life. She was sick 1 time in her 1st year. Well at her 1 year check up the doctor felt what she though was an enlarged spleen. Being that Juliana was sick just 1 week before her appointment, the doctor wanted us to come back in 2 weeks. We went back for another check up and the doctor still felt what she thought was an enlarged spleen. She sent us to the hospital to get blood-work done and an ultrasound. Before the blood-work was even done, while they were doing the ultrasound they saw something that wasn't right. The hospital sent us back to the pediatricians office... during the short drive back there we knew something was wrong. We got to the office and they escorted us to her small office room. She sent us directly to a children's hospital. Well to make a long story short, our daughter was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor in her kidney. This form of cancer effects 500 kids yearly in the US. She had to have surgery to remove the tumor and her kidney as well. Juliana spent over 1 1/2 weeks in the hospital and had to have chemo for 5 months.
She is a tough little girl who has been through a lot. She still gets random fevers that she has to goto the ER for. But her CAT scans, X-Rays, and Ultrasounds show no cancer.
Fast-forward to March of 2008.... This was our 1st disney trip. We stayed off site at the Sheraton Vistana. We went with our friends who have 2 young kids around Juliana's age. We were so excited for this trip because of Juliana's diagnosis and treatment we couldn't go anywhere and had stay close to the hospital. We went to magic kingdom the 1st day and when she saw Cinderella's Castle she was in awe. I'll never forget the look and how excited she was. That was the day when I was hooked on disney as well.
Waiting for our 1st boat ride over to the Magic Kingdom.

Can't wait to hear about the character meals!!!! We love them too, and did lots on our October trip. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.
Your daughter is beautiful. What an ordeal your family has been through. So glad to hear that she is doing better. And how much more special it must have made your first trip to WDW. I would bet you cried lots of tears of joy on this trip.

For the March 2008 trip, we bought 8 day non-expiring passes and only used 4 days, so we planned a short trip in October 2008 for 5 days. We did a time share presentation at Silver Lake Resort. We sat through the talk... 2 1/2 hours later we were walking out with 2 one day passes to Disney. And without buying anything. (They make it sound so good).
Now on our first trip we got to visit Melody's grandmother who lives in the Sarasota area. We never get to see them and on the October trip we didn't have enough time. She felt bad that we didn't visit so she kept talking about going to see them.
Well in November I started seeing the buy 4 get 3 free promo for Disney. I kept thinking about it and I for Christmas I surprised them with a trip to DISNEY! There was a package under the tree addressed to all of us from Santa. There was a note in it:
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Christmassurprise001-1.jpg
There was also our ressie info, t-shirts that I made (thanks DISigners), and the 2009 unofficial guidde to disney.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04102-1.jpg
I signed up on the Disney website for the call on Christmas morning. They opened the package at 8:30 and at 8:40 Mickey called to talk to Juliana and to tell her that he was waiting for us. Well the first call disconnected and I was kinda bumed. About 10 minutes later it rang again. IT WAS MICKEY!:yay: And Juliana got to talk to him.

She has been through a lot but she is a strong little girl. I know this is cliche but you don't think about certain things until they happen to you or someone close to you. You hear about CANCER in the news, papers, TV shows, and just people talking about it. But it never hits you or the severity of it until it hits close to home. It has really opened our eyes to the struggles of people around us.

After I booked the trip, I was researching on the DIS day in and day out trying to learn everything there was to know about disney. The parks, the restaurants, the busses, and the resorts. I had our resort already picked CSR thanks to Buzz & Kathy's pages and knowledge! But i wanted this trip to be perfect.
I found DISboards after we came back from our 1st trip last March. I was a long time lurker. I finally started posting and have met some very nice people. I signed Juliana to be on the fairy godmother list. (Thank you fairy-godmother:) )Juliana received the cutest Cinderella card. I have seen some really cool count down calendars on here but i'm not all that crafty. So we had our calendar on our fridge that Juliana wanted to X out. So here are a few pics the night before we left.:cool1: After she saw me doing it for a few weeks, Juliana wanted to be the one doing the X's. If you look closely you can see the ones she did.

So FINALLY Friday February 27 had arrived!!!! Melody and I were up at 5:20 AM getting the last few things in the suitcases. We woke up Juliana at 5:45 it was still dark out. She asked us why we were waking her up at night. We said it was time to go and she was so excited!!!:cool1: :cool1:
We drove with my mom to the airport and got on the plane. The whole process was very easy. The plane was on time and they actually said our flight was going to be landing 45 minutes early.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04153.jpg
We were flying into Tampa then driving to Bradenton for the first part of our trip. When we got out side it was 80 degrees!!!!! Coming from the cold of Connecticut it felt so good. We rented a car from Alamo using priceline. We got a good price of $230 total for the 10 days. We took a shuttle from the airport to the car, which was very easy. Got the car, packed it up, and were on our way.
We arrived in Bradenton about 2pm. Melody's grandparents were so glad to see us. They couldn't believe how big Juliana got.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04163.jpg
We went out back to pick some oranges.

We had a great dinner of Cavatelli, shrimp, clams, and broccoli. We went to check into our hotel and get ready to spend the whole day with Mel's grandparents.

On Saturday it was going to be so nice out we decided to take Melody's grandmother to the beach for a little while. We packed up the car and drove about 15 minutes to Coquina Beach. It was a little breezy but was still warm. The water was pretty cold about 60 degrees. I went in up to my knees but Juliana wanted to play in the water.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04174.jpg
We had a great time at the beach. Juliana even befriended a little girl who was 3 1/2yrsold. They were playing so cute together. It was funny... Juliana was bigger than her. The little girl let Juliana play with her toys and it was like they knew each other forever. I felt bad that we had to go. But we were getting hungry for lunch.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04177.jpg
We had lunch and dinner with Melody's grandparents. Then we went back to our hotel. I really don't want to waste time talking too much about our hotel but it was OK. It was clean.. thats the most important thing. We didn't spend too much time there, except to sleep. But they did have a bar next to the marina so I got Mel a frozen drink and I had a beer. Then we went to bed. I couldn't really sleep that night. I felt like a little kid. I was so excited to be going to Disney the next day.
PIC from the hotel.

On Sunday we packed up the car. It was raining. The front that was about to bring snow to CT was bringing cold to FL. I didn't really care, we were on vacation!!! We went back to Melody's GP's and I cooked everyone bacon, eggs, sausage, and toast. Oh yea, and some freshly squeezed O.J. At about 12:45pm we were saying our goodbyes. It was sad to leave them. By 1pm we were on our way to CSR.... Next report FiNaLlY DiSnEy!

My DD has kidney problems too. She had a condition called Vesicoureteral reflux. Her urine would back up into her kidneys and it caused her to have severe infections. Now her kidneys are scarred and function is reduced. She had 3 surgeries to fix this condition. They tried to correct it with 2 smaller surgeries but they didn't work so they ended up having to detach the ureters from the bladder and reconnect them at a different spot. She has one kidney that is significantly smaller than the other and has lost about half of it's function. Luckily the other kidney is working harder to compensate. Thank goodness they have 2 of them, right!

Kadesha,
Sorry to hear about your DD. Every time Juliana goes to her oncologist she gets her blood-work done. Of course they check her kidney function. They told us you can live a normal life with 1 kidney. She just has to be careful when/if she starts playing sports. They told us that anything extreme should be avoided.... skydiving, deep sea diving, etc. But what about skiing, horseback riding, hockey, etc. She just turned 3 so we have some time to talk to doctors about these things.
One thing that we have to do is make sure she stays hydrated. Every day we have to push her to drink water. We sound like a broken record. "Juliana where's your water?" "Juliana get your water" "Can you please drink your water?" She must be sick of hearing it, cuz we get tired of saying it. But its what we have to do.

So where was I? Sunday 3/1 Ah the drive to disney.:goodvibes So we were on the road at 1pm. About 25 in to it Juliana passed out. We fed her before we left Melody's grandparents but we didn't eat. We stopped at Taco Bell for a little something. We didn't want to eat too much, just something to hold us over. We had a 5:35pm ressie at 1900 Park Fare..... I know what your thinking. In the Christmas note it said Crystal Palace. From the time I booked the trip to the time we left, I was following the calendar on the disney website. It always seemed like it was changing. So we finally decided that we wouldn't goto a park on Sunday and we would get into the Disney spirit by seeing Cinderella and her crew. On the whole ride over I had to keep looking down at the speedometer. I think I had a lead foot on that drive.
We pulled into Coronado Springs about 2:50pm.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04812.jpg
When I booked I requested (in this order) Cabanas 9A, 8B, 8A. I did the online check-in, which was easy, but there is no spot to put any written requests in. Being the first time staying on property, I really didn't know what to be requesting anyways, so I just went for it. When we arrived at the desk, there was no special place to go if you did the online check-in (it said there would be when doing the online check-in). They pulled up my name and all my info was already in a packet. The CM said that I was her 1st online check-in. :) The manager (??) gave Juliana a birthday button and gave us Celebrating buttons. (I guess this is why there are the 'what are you celebrating' questions everytime you call) But the 2 ladies were very nice and very pleasant.
I paid for a king room figuring that we would bring our pack-n-play for Juliana. We were assigned room 8626 in Cabanas 8B. We arrived at our room to find it was a newly renovated room on the second floor away from the elevator facing the parking lot (run-on sentence). I was slightly bumed....but whatever we were so excited to be here. The room was very nice. (you can see pics in any CSR thread) So Mel and Juliana were in the room and I took 5 trips up and down the stair to get our stuff into the room. We unpacked and then we were ready to explore. Oh YEA this little animal greeted us when we opened the door.

We kept exploring and while I was posing DW & DD for a pic, a nice guy took my camera and took a pic of all of us. According to the map, we were about to be at the DIG SITE.

We climbed the few stairs, walked down a short path, then there it was.....That huge pool! You can see pictures but it is so much 'cooler' in person!

It was cold(by Florida standards) so we didn't go in. Plus we didn't have time because we had our 5:35 dinner. But Juliana saw the playground and HAD to check it out.

So we drove over to the Grand Floridian. They asked if I wanted to Valet Park. I declined and dropped Melody & Juliana off. Then drove to park. Little did I know the parking was across the street. So I found a spot and hiked it back to the hotel. Mel was wondering if I got lost LOL. We were about 5 min early for dinner. We checked in at the counter. They gave us a little buzzer to let us know when our table was ready. So we walked around the lobby.

About 7 min later we were buzzing.. YEAH!! time to eat. Juliana LOVES Cinderella so she HAD to wear her gown. We got seated in the main dining area and had a nice waiter... (i can't remember his name) he took our drink orders and we were up to the buffet. I probably should mention I added the DDP about 5 days before we left. Figured it would be worth it considering the ADR's that we had. Anyways Juliana had mac&cheese, cheese pizza, and corn from the kids section and some pasta from the 'adult' section. She is a finicky eater but she was loving everything. I had tomato mozzarella salad, prime rib, paella, mashed potatos, salmon, and some veggies. The salmon was really good tender and moist. Paella was good as well, I wish there was more seafood in it. The beef was real good. A medium rare cut that wasn't chewy and melted in my mouth. Found a horseradish sauce to but on it that was good too! I had a beer and Melody had mixed drink that was changing colors. Here is a pic of some of the food. This is one of the few pictures I have of food. My wife made fun of me that I was taking a picture of my dinner plate.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04217.jpg
The main reason I wanted to go there was to have Juliana see Cinderella. We met all the characters.

We thought Juliana would like to have an autograph book this time. We didn't do it the last two times. We felt she would understand it a little better this time. I'm so glad we got it for her. She had such a great time getting all her favorites autographs. The prince was very nice. Cinderella took a little extra time with Juliana because she was being shy. Lady Tremaine was funny... She was nice but firm. I know there have been people on the DIS that have stated she was scary or rude. I never got that impression, I felt she was nice while still playing the role of the stepmother. Well it was time to meet the stepsisters.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04230.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04231.jpg
These two were so funny. They told Juliana she looked so much better in her dress than Cinderella ever did. They were bickering with each other across two tables. The stepmother yelled at them and told them to stop it or they were going to go to 'time-out' Juliana got a kick out of that. Also Juliana had a Cinderella wand that they both picked up and played with making some of the funniest faces I ever seen.
It was time for Cinderella to dance with the prince. They did their dance then had kids join them. Juliana wanted to but she was being shy again. She came back to our table then we got dessert. Our waiter brought over a cupcake and a crown for Juliana's birthday! Once again I guess this is why they asked me all those celebrating questions when I called to make ressies.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04239.jpg
Right after I took that last picture, Juliana dropped her cupcake right into her lap. I thought she would be upset but she thought it was the funniest thing. All three of us were laughing hysterically. Thank goodness Mel put a dinner napkin on her right before it happened. We got the bill and I noticed the price was $30.99. I checked allears.net before we left to get prices and menus. The price here for dinner and breakfast has gone up. Thanks to the dining plan cuz I didn't care. I would definitely eat here again. The food was good but the atmosphere was better!
We finished our dessert and walked around the Grand Floridian for a while. Then Juliana wanted to go for a ride on the monorail. So we did the loop and got back about 15 min before the fireworks. We walked outside to try to find a good spot to watch but it was pretty cold and windy. So I got the car and picked them up to go back to CSR. We had a long MK day ahead of us starting with a 8:25 ressie at Crystal Palace!

She did OK without stopping for the naps... On Wednesday we did a pool day and she napped for about 40 minutes in the room before dinner and on Friday around 4pm she passed out in the stroller for about 45 minutes. It was perfect because we had another ADR. I think she was too excited to take naps!
Your family is beautiful-what smiles!

Before I write about Monday 3/2, there were a few things I forgot to write about in the last report. About 20 minutes after we left the restaurant, we realized that we left Juliana's jacket there. This was a nice princess jacket that my wife bought for her (i think it was like $40). It was a few weeks old and this was the first time DD wore it. I stopped at the check-in booth to ask if anyone found it. The CM told me no one turned anything in. I asked if I could go back into the dining room to check my table. They said I could. I looked around for a minute and didn't see it. Just as I was about to walk out I saw our waiter. I asked him if he saw the jacket... he did find it and put it aside for us. I was so greatful. I wish I could remember his name so I could give him his due.
Another thing I forgot about. We got back to the room around 8:40. We gave Juliana a bath and got her to calm down for bed about 9:10. Well a few minutes later we hear a door slam then talking coming from the room next to us. There was Mom and 3 kids I believe. Well they were loud, slamming things, the mom was yelling at them. This went on for about an hour. I was hoping that they wouldn't wake up our DD. They didn't (thank god). I told Melody that if it happened again the next night I would call or stop by the front desk. They must of left because after that night we never heard anything again.
One other thing. I don't know if it is like this in every resort but at CSR when you flushed the toilets, they were EXTREMELY loud. I woke up a few times at night throughout the week hearing toilets flushing. They were so powerful you could of flushed 10 tonga toasts at once! I was worried the sound would wake up Juliana but it never did... (just a few nightmares, which she never has at home)
 :earboy2: OK well in my next report MK day!!!!!! :earboy2:

Your DD is beautiful. It's sad she went through so much but it seems like she handled it very well... at such a young age, very admirable. Even the way she handled her dropped cupcake is admirable... hehe.

I'm in for this TR, especially after reading about Juliana's cancer. I could not even imagine having my child being perfectly healthy their first year, and then finding out they have cancer at a well visit. I can only imagine what an emotional roller coaster that would have been. You have such a beautiful family, and I am sooooo looking forward to reading about your well deserved vacation. I love the character meals!!!:woohoo:

I am enjoying your trip report. You have a beautiful family. I am sorry to hear all you have gone through, but it is good to hear your daughter is doing well now. The best part of Disney World to me is seeing the look on your children's faces. We did two character meals last trip and I wish we had done more, they were so fun. I can't wait to read more.

I wake up to the phone ringing at 7:05am. I answer and Stitch was yelling at me. I forgot where I was for a minute. Oh yea DISNEY! We were going to MK to spend the whole day there. We had a breakfast ressie an Crystal Palace at 8:25 and at Tony's at 5:25pm for dinner. So we got up got ready and walked out to the bus stop about 7:50 or so.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04242.jpg
I have to be honest, with never staying on-site and using the busses, I was a little leery of the whole process. I must say, I was impressed. We still had our rental for the week, but I figured we'd try out the busses. We waited about 5-7 minutes for the bus. Picked us up from bus stop #4 then it stopped at #1 (at CSR the order of stops are 2,3,4,1). When we pulled away from #1 it only took a few minutes to get to MK and it drops you off right in front! No tram, no boat, no monorail. I'm talking the front gate. I know the time by the stamps of my pics and I took this one at 8:18. Check out the flag in this picture. It was standing straight out. It was pretty cool (maybe 45-50 degrees) and windy.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04244.jpg
So that is really fast to be walking into MK. They checked our bags then we stayed to the right to walk into the park early for our breakfast. It was kinda cool to be going in before the park opened. I kinda felt like a VIP. We saw a photopass guy on Main St. and stopped for a pic. He took 2 with our camera as well.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04246.jpg
I checked in at Crystal Palace at exactly 8:25 and there wasn't a long line.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04249.jpg
He's a pic of the castle while we were waiting. The sky was SO clear and blue.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04248.jpg
Thank goodness we got there when we did because the line was soooooo long 5 minutes later. We were shown our table and before we even sat down there was Pooh! Melody had to grab the camera quick and snap some shots.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04250.jpg
Juliana had Mickey waffles, some fruit, and some eggs. Melody had an array of fruit, eggs, and Mickey waffle too. I won't deny that I ate like a total PIG on this trip... I was eating everything! I had a made to order ham & cheese omelet, breakfast potatos, ham, fruit, and i'm sure some other things..LOL
I would suggest this breakfast buffet to anyone. The food was real good and I liked the omelet station. They also had pastry, muffins, breads, even salmon... they covered every breakfast option except for French toast. While we were eating the characters were coming around so we snapped some pics. Also about every 1/2 hour the characters had a mini parade with the kids. It was cute.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04256.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04258.jpg
Well after breakfast Juliana got another treat. A cupcake for her birthday and a card signed by all- Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04259.jpg
We didn't get to take any pics with Tigger. He was so far from us and it was almost 9:30 so we just got our stuff together and left. (but stopped for a pic first)
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04265-3.jpg
So I know that the lines to the fairy's get long quick so we were headed over to toontown. It wasn't open yet so we jumped on the teacups.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04269.jpg
Juliana being silly.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04270.jpg
While we were on the teacups toontown opened. So we got off and went straight to the fairies.. The wait was 20min and the princesses were 5. So we jumped into the princess line. And got to meet Aurora, Cinderella, and Belle.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04274.jpg
Then jumped into the fairy line already 40 minutes. I'm thinking to myself if this is worth it? But Juliana likes Tinkerbell so I'm here for her so we wait. We got to meet Iridessa first and she was great with Juliana.. She talked to her for 5 minutes (now I see why this line hardly moves). She was so nice and cute with her.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04280.jpg
Tink was next. She was nice as well but not as engaging as Iridessa.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04286.jpg
Then finally Rosetta. She was really nice and engaging to Juliana as well.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04287.jpg
So by the time we got done with the fairies. It was almost 11am..... Where does the time go when you are at disney? So I'll talk about the rest of our day in the next installment!

I have an almost 5 year old boy, and when I saw the first pic of Julianna I though "I wish this little girl could be E's friend, she looks like a little spitfire!", and then I read about her tumor, and yes indeed, she probably IS a little spitfire. She's gorgeous, too. :)

You have a beautiful daughter. Sorry to hear about her medical condition. Hang in there. I can certainly relate to those tough time. My SIL's granddaughter was born with hydrocephalus. She just turn 1 yr old a few weeks ago and had many surgery than my lifetime.

So it is about 11 and we are walking out of toontown. Over to fantasy land. I can't believe how many people there are.:confused3 The place is PACKED! I don't know if it is because of the big storm in the N.E. and people got stuck here or what but it was crazy. I stopped at Pooh and got a FP (that will come in handy later). Headed to small world and there was a 10 minute wait. This is Juliana's favorite ride. She sings the song all the time. The line moved pretty fast and we jumped on just after 11:15. I know a lot of people dislike small world but I like it. LOL
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04290.jpg
A nice couple took our picture at the beginning of the ride.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04292.jpg
The line for the Carousel wasn't bad so we rode.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04293.jpg
Then right over to PhilharMagic. Last year Juliana didn't like this show (and she screamed through Bug's Life till Melody took her out) but she loved it this time. She was getting off my lap trying to grab the 3D stuff coming at her. It was really cute. This is us about to go in.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04295.jpg
After the show it was after 12, so Melody and Juliana found a spot in front of the castle for the Move it - shake it parade. I went to find lunch. I basically missed the whole parade, Mel said it was really cute and Juliana liked it too.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04298.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04299.jpg
I walked over to Pecos Bill and got the chicken wrap meal. We were on the DDP so I got a water, yogurt, fries, and chocolate cake with it. Needless to say the wrap was was horrible. Mel and I were gonna split it so she got first dibs. She took 2 bites and didn't want it. I had a few bites and I agreed with her- it wasn't good. But she ate the yogurt and had a few bites of Juliana chicken fingers. I had a few fries. To tell you the truth I was still kinda full from breakfast. We walked around for a while and road some more rides. Had a FP for Peter Pan from earlier and rode. We waited about 40 minutes for dumbo. What else is there to do in the dumbo line than wear 3 pairs of glasses?
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04317.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04318.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04319.jpg
After Dumbo, we went down to Main St. to get a snack and to try to find a spot for the parade. There were some CM getting kids together to play duck-duck-goose. So Juliana went to play... except she never played before. Any time a kid was picked as the goose and started running, Juliana got up and started running too. It was funny.... there were people near us laughing too.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04321.jpg
Mel came back from Main St. bakery with one of the biggest cinnamon rolls I ever saw. It was really good. If you are on the dining plan you should get one of these and take it back to your room and have it for breakfast. It might even be enough for 2 people. We watched the parade... I took video of it. Then we went over frontierland. We rode the jungle cruise (got FP earlier) and the carpet ride.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04322.jpg
We were kind of all over the park. Headed to tommorowland. Got a FP for Space Mountain and went to Monsters INC. It was a cute show.. we never saw it before. Then it was 5:20... Five minutes to get to Tony's. I checked in and we waited maybe 5 minutes to be seated.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04325.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04328.jpg
We decided to get one salad and split it. It was the perfect amount for 2 people. I got the N.Y. strip cooked med-rare- it was awesome. It was so tender, I barely needed a knife to cut it. Melody tried it and she like it a lot too. She had the seafood diavoli. It was good too. Had a little spice to it which we like. They could of put a little more seafood in it. But it was still good. Juliana had Penne with sauce and a meatball. The meatball wasn't great but the sauce was good. For dessert I had the gelato. I've read so much about it on the DIS, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It is like a creamier ice cream. :confused3 I don't know.. It was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to try to get it. Mel had strawberry mousse cheesecake. She really liked it. And it looked cool too.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04327.jpg
Pic of Juliana posing.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04330.jpg
We finished dinner and went to the pooh ride, then found a spot for Wishes. I ran to do space mountain, then met back up with the girls for the fireworks. We have seen the fireworks a few times but never from the front of the castle. I don't know fireworks are fireworks right????????? WRONG! It is worth it standing in the circle in front of the castle to see them. I was holding Juliana in one arm and taping with the other. Tinkerbell flew right over us. Juliana was in awe... I was watching her and it was the best feeling ever. I was getting chills during the song "and all our wishes will come true" There is something about that voice... maybe because it sounds like a kid. I donno but it was worth staying in the crowd to watch them. Snapped a shot of Main St. and the castle while we were trying to fight the crowds on the way out. It is a little blurry.

Even though there was a lot of people trying to get out, it went pretty smoothly. Just watch out for those train tracks on Main St., especially with a stroller. Sometimes they get real deep. But got to the bus stop. CSR stop is #1. Waited about 3 minutes bus showed up and we were on for the short ride back. We were all tired after a great day and needed some rest for our next days adventures at DHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes :) :yay:

Kadesha,
Sorry to hear about your DD.
Tim
My DD has to be careful with sports too. We used to have horses and all she wanted to do was ride! We moved and no longer have the horses and I'm so glad. The horseback riding really worried me. Anything that could cause her to take a hard blow to her "good" kidney I worry about. People think I'm neurotic but they just don't understand. I feel like a broken record about pushing liquids too. For us it's water and cranberry juice. I know I say something about drinking at least 50 times a day! lol! I also have to be really picky about what kinds of OTC medications I give her, keep an eye on her salt intake, and blood pressure. Having a damaged kidney in there really increases her chances for developing high blood pressure.
Ok--enough of that! I've got to catch up on all these character meals now! :cool1:

Wonderful pictures!
Totally agree about the Wishes soundtrack. When "Dis'ing" either Dis radio or one of the cd's from the park is playing, and that song is - can it be possible? - yes even more addictive than IASW or Tiki room.
ETA: about the room noise thing, DH is a big "white noise" person, so we always request a fan & it blocks the noise really well.

What a great MK day! I think the only thing worth having at Pecos Bill is a burger decked out with the fixins bar.
We are going to stay and watch Wishes from Main St this time too. Our first trip we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and were spoiled with an obstructed Wishes from our balcony so we never fought the crowd on Main St- this year for sure!!!

What a beautiful family you are - Julianna is adorable! I love watching Wishes from in front of the castle too - got to see it at Christmastime and it was truly amazing!
My oldest DS wants to stay at CSR next trip (we have only stayed at BWV and got so spoiled there. I rented points from a DVC owner the last 2 trips and can't beat the price or the view over the boardwalk. We got to see Illuminations from our balcony each night.) Can't wait to read more of your trip!

I am so loving your report. Your details are great and the pictures absolutely stunning. Back to your report on Crystal Palace. There is french toast...but for some silly reaosn it is in the children's station. It is puffed french toast and it is out of this world. I always eat at least two if not three pieces every trip. You'll have to try it next time.

This is so true.. I found out this week about a 7 yr old girl that is from Waterbury (my hometown) that has a tumor on her brain. She left for St. Judes during the week. I just heard today that they can't operate and they are just going to try chemo and/or radiation. It doesn't look good though from what I understand. You really have to count your blessings everyday and can't take life for granted. You can read about it here:

Alright on to Tuesday! 3/3!
We had a good sleep and woke up ready to take on the world! Well maybe not the whole world...... just Hollywood Studios. We had an ADR for Hollywood & Vine (Playhouse Disney) breakfast at 8:40. So we got out to the bus stop and quickly jumped on the bus to Hollywood. The ride from CSR to getting dropped off at Hollywood was like 6min or so. There was already a lot of people at the turnstyles and we were trying to find our we in. At MK you stay to the right to get into the park early, but at DHS you have to stay to the left. Well we went to the right, then we had to fight through the crowds to get in. Arrived at H&V and got seated.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04345.jpg
I checked the time and it was 8:55. I told Melody to order me an OJ.. I'll be rite back. I'm going to get TSM FP's. So I walked straight out and waited for the rope drop. It dropped and about 5 CM walked briskly over to TSM. It was very orderly. I think every single person was headed over there. I was about 5th in line to get the fast pass then I headed back over to Hollywood & Vine.
The restaurant was barely half full. Nothing like Crystal Palace (Not that I was complaining) The food was good... once again all the typical breakfast items. They had a make-your-own breakfast burrito. They also had some breakfast potato cheese mixture which was really good. Juliana had her mickey waffles again and some fresh pineapple. Well the characters started coming around. We saw Jo Jo, Goliath, June, and Leo. When Leo came over she asked him how his sister Annie was. She is so cute!:)

Juliana and June doing dance moves.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04361.jpg
They were playing all music from playhouse disney during breakfast. There was 2 times where they got all the kids out towards the middle of the restaurant to dance and sing. It was fun. Juliana was hesitant at first (like she always is) but warmed up and was doing the dance moves with the other kids.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04354.jpg
We finished up our meal about 9:45 and headed over to Rock 'N Roller Coaster to get some FP's. So I put my ticket in and my FP ticket came out saying my FP was not available yet. It was 9:55. That had never happened to me before. I thought it was kinda funny. So while we were waiting another family came to get their FP's. One of the kids asked their dad if she was tall enough to ride. He had her stand next to the sign to see if she was tall enough. A CM was there helping out. The little girl was trying to stand on her tippy toes to make herself the 1 more inch she needed to make it. The CM politely told them she wasn't tall enough. Well Juliana was standing with me listening too. After the family left, Juliana wanted to see if she was tall enough. I measured her told her not yet. She said "Maybe when I get a little bigger" I said "Yes when you get bigger.... Now get back there so I can take your picture.":goodvibes
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04364.jpg
So we had our FP for the coaster (my favorite ride in all of Disney) then we were going to go on TSM. Now when we were there in October we got to the park around 10:30 and the FP's were already gone when we got over there. We really were looking forward to riding, hoping it would live up to the hype. We saw this guy hanging out on Sunset Boulevard.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04365.jpg
On the way over some guy handed me 2 FP's for Toy Story!! He said he didn't need them because he already rode it. We said thanks to him.... OK now we have 2 chances to ride! Finally made our way there and jumped on.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04366.jpg
We put Juliana between us and went on the ride. We had a great time. I thought Juliana wouldn't like it because it kinda whips you around a few times, but it didn't bother her. She actually liked it. Here is Juliana hanging out with Cootie... her favorite game.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04378.jpg
The crowds today were very manageable. Longest wait I saw was for TSM 40min. I didn't think that was too bad. The rest of the main rides were around 20min. We didn't have a plan today we were just winging it.... come to think of it besides our ADR times we never had a 'plan' inside the parks. There were a few rides that we knew we wanted to do. There were also a few rides that we never have done before, so we wanted to see those as well. We stopped by to say hi to Cars.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04381.jpg
One of the shows we never saw was Muppet Vision 3D. It was cute but we weren't overly impressed. I feel there is so much potential for this show. Now that we did it, I most likely won't see it again... for a while anyways. I still love Statler & Waldorf... the two grumpy old guys that basically heckle the muppets. I've always loved those two.
We rode Star Tours then headed over to the Streets of America area. Juliana wanted to go to the 'Honey I shrunk the Kids' play area. She remembered it from last time. She gets a kick going on the slides and walking through the ant holes.

It was about 12:30 now so we went to Studio Catering Company for lunch. I was in a line with 2 people..... It was me and the lady in front of me. I don't know where she was from.. she spoke english but had a pretty heavy accent. She was ordering for 5 people all on the dining plan. What a disaster. It took almost 10 minutes for her to order everything. Some meals from the plan, some snacks from the plan, and other items she was paying out of pocket for. It was a almost comical. I should of changed lines but I didn't. I wasn't mad or anything, I just couldn't believe it could be so difficult. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, caesar salad, and PB&J. My sandwich was OK... nothing to write home about. Juliana ate most of the sandwich and what ever else came with it. Melody liked her salad.
Once again being on the dining plan you get dessert with your meals. We wouldn't of ordered it if we weren't on it. But it was included so we ate most of it. The chocolate cake was good... nice and moist. The Marble Cheesecake was really good.
We finished lunch. Then headed over to see Beauty and the Beast. Stopped for a few pics along the way.

We got FP's to Tower of Terror (i don't know why). This is Melody's favorite ride and we never got to ride it. We just ran out of time. We both rode the coaster... I had to wait a few extra minutes to get the front seat. Then jetted over to see the playhouse disney show. We had to see Quincy.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04411.jpg
We rode TSM again with our FP's, then started making our way out of the park, hitting a few stores out on the way. We took this picture at 4:50. My next picture was at CSR at 5:10. This just shows you how fast the busses were. Once again we were very impressed with them.

By this time it was getting close to 5:45 and we had dinner ressies at 'Ohana at 7pm(this was our latest dinner). So we went back to the room to get ready. We got to the Poly and checked in at 'Ohana about 6:50. I requested a window seat. The CM told me she would see what she could do but she couldn't promise anything. She also said they were running a little behind so it would be a few minutes. They gave me the buzzer, told me we had to stay on the 2nd floor for it to work. What is there to do on the 2nd floor you ask? How about go to the gift shop!!! ( i wonder if they do this on purpose?LOLOL)
About 7:10 we're getting buzzed. They bring us to our table....right in front of the window! It was awesome! We can see the castle perfectly changing colors. Juliana was so excited.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04446.jpg
Melody and I both ordered a drink. Mel got the pineapple in honor of our honeymoon in Hawaii.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04450.jpg
For those of you that have never eaten at 'Ohana, you better bring your appetite!!!!! There is soo much food. Our waiter brought over the pineapple bread, which was very good. Next was the appetizer course. We got a salad w/ honey-lime dressing (i never knew a dressing could taste so good), pork dumplings (very good), broccoli(Mel didn't care for it so much, I liked it), and the honey chicken wings (KILLER GOOD). The sauce was so sticky and messy, which normally I can do without on my wings. It didn't matter. We ate all the wings. Then they brought over 2 warm towels to wipe our messy hands with (we really needed them). You get 3 different dipping sauces for your meat. Speaking of meat... here it comes. Grilled shrimp (very good), marinated steak(awesome .. it was go tender), griller turkey( very good as well), and grilled pork(little dried out.. still flavorful). Juliana ended up eating mac & cheese. Dessert was a pineapple bread pudding (very good as well). We couldn't eat much of it because we were so full. A picture of where the food is grilled.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04459.jpg
During dinner they did dancing with the kids, had a limbo contest, and had a conga line going throughout the whole restaurant. Here are a few pics.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04451.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04454.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04457.jpg
Oh yeah.... back to that window seat. At 7:59 the music in the restaurant was turned down the lights are dimmed... then at 8 they piped in the music from wishes! So the three of us are sitting at the window, with a perfect view of the castle, eating our dinner, and watching the fireworks! It was a really cool experience. Juliana keep saying those are the biggest fireworks she ever seen. She watched the whole time in amazement. These are the type of things that make disney special.
When we were done with dinner we rolled out of the restaurant and headed back to CSR. We had another great day and were looking forward to Wednesday....... on our schedule tomorrow....... nothing!!!! :scared1: Ok maybe not nothing(does this sentance make sense?), but a no park day!!!!

Alright its Wednesday already. I think once you cross the state line into Florida time speeds up. The hours and days seem to fly by. We have a ressie at 1900 Park Fair at 9:10 for breakfast. Now we already ate dinner there to see Cinderella and the stepsisters but I made the dinner ressie a few weeks after I made my initial reservations. I planed to eat at 1900 from the beginning. We were debating whether to cancel or go....... ummmm lets go! We got ready and took the rental car over the to Grand Floridian. I knew about the parking situation and I still decided to self park. So once again I dropped Melody and Juliana off at the front and I went to park. Juliana still wears diapers (we're working on it) and one of the straps to the bag broke. So when I got to the waiting area a very nice CM was helping Melody fix the bag. The CM brought her 2 heavy duty safety pins and was helping her piece it back together. We were called and got seated.
We had a nice waitress who was very attentive to what we needed. I had another omelette, some french toast, mickey waffles, some cheesy potatoes, and some fruit. I was thinking about the salmon...... nahhhhhhh not for breakfast. Melody had an egg white omelette so fruit and some french toast. Juliana was being picky... she wanted fruit loops, then she didn't. She wanted another cereal, then she didn't. So we went back to old faithful... mickey waffles and some fruit. I don't know what it was but these waffles were really good. I think maybe they were a little lighter. While we were eating we saw Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins. It was great to have the chance to see Tigger because we missed him at the Crystal Palace breakfast. Plus this Tigger was a lot more animated- he was jumping around and being more playful.

The mad hatter was soooooo funny. I have some great video of him. He is so loud. He was screaming in the restaurant- yelling at Alice, yelling at people, yelling at CM's. He came near our table and stopped at the table next to us. The dad and the 2 kids went up to get some food and the mom was still at the table by her self. The hatter asked the mom where everyone was and she said up getting food. He asked what his name was.. she told him. So the Mad Hatter (and I do mean MAD as crazy) jumps up on the chair and starts yelling across the whole restaurant. "Max.. where are you MAX? You don't want to see me. Max I heard it was your birthday, come over here. MAX OH MAX!" Mel, Juliana, and me were all watching this laughing. The mom, who might of been a tad embarrassed, went to the food to get her son. So the Hatter starting talking to us (still standing on the chair). Just then Pooh comes over towards him. The Hatter starts talking 'junk' to Pooh. And then what does the Hatter do?????? He jumps off the chair and drops an elbow right on Pooh. Pooh falls to the ground and the Hatter is laughing.. we're laughing too. He turns to us and says in his high pitched voice "What is a bear doing in here? The nice people are trying to eat. They should never let a bear in a restaurant." We are all laughing.
In the meantime the mom came back to her table with her family and Hatter goes and talks to them. Pooh is still laying on the floor and Juliana goes over to him and asks him if he is OK and helps him up. So Pooh goes to visit with another table and the Hatter come over to see us. He was bending down talking to Juliana when Pooh comes over and puts his hands around Hatters neck and starts choking him for 5-10 seconds. It was classic and I have the whole thing on video.
We finished up breakfast and headed back to CSR for the next part of our 'relaxing' day.
EDIT: here is the link to the MAD HATTER VIDEO

For Valentine's Day, Juliana and I booked Melody an hour massage at the Spa at CSR for today at 11:30. So while Melody was at her massage, Juliana and I went over to the dig site to play.

Today it was warmer (about 71) after 3 days of low 60's, so we were going to try out the pool. Juliana and I went back to the room to get changed. Then Melody got there. She said the massage was great and she almost fell asleep. So the the of us headed back to the pool. We ordered lunch at the pool bar. Mel & Juliana split the chicken fingers and I had the nachos. The nachos were real good and pretty filling.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04480.jpg
Then we went swimming. There wasn't many people in the pool. They had life jackets available for the kids, so we strapped one on Juliana. I tried out the slide. It was fun. I tried to get Juliana to try it (i knew she wouldn't do it plus she is still too little), she didn't want to.

After hanging out at the pool for a few hours we had to go back and get ready for dinner. We took showers and gave Juliana a bath. Juliana hasn't taken a nap this whole trip but she passed out on the bed. So Mel and I finished getting ready and let Juliana sleep as long as we could. About 5:10 we had to wake her up to go. We were going to Chef Mickey'spopcorn:: for 5:35!

WHich breakfast did you like better- Crystal Palace or 1900 Parke Faire?
They both were very good.
Food- I think i liked Crystal Palace better. DW like 1900 better.
Interaction- we liked the characters better at 1900 because of the experience we had.
Group participation- Crystal Palace does a little parade with the kids. 1900 breakfast doesn't get the crowd involved.
Characters- CP- Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet 1900- Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins (disclaimer according to disney- characters are subject to change!) LOL
So I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. If you have any specific questions, let me know.:)

So we headed over to the Contemporary to Chef Mickey's. They expanded the dining room. It is a lot bigger than the last time we were there. I believe the steak house(?) was moved making the dining room bigger. The photo guy asked if we wanted to buy the plate picture. We said no but he took a picture with our camera.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04493.jpg
So we sat down and waited for our waiter.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04494.jpg
Our waiter came over and took our drink order. We saw Pluto coming so we waited at our table. Juliana loves Pluto and so do I. So we snapped a few shots.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04498.jpg
We went up and got our food. I don't really remember exactly what I ate but i pretty much tried everything! I do remember that the prime rib (or whatever cut it was) wasn't nearly as good as the Park Fair prime rib. This one was a little dry with quite a bit of fat. Juliana ate pasta and of course the Mickey mac & cheese! We didn't get another Character back to our table for about 15 minutes. Which was good because we got Juliana to eat a lot of her dinner.
We met a nice lady and her brother sitting next to us from Jersey. They got to Disney a couple days early because of the snowstorm. She was part of the DVC and was telling us a little about it. It was nice talking to them. Well we noticed Donald was on his way.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04499.jpg
Then the man himself... well.... the mouse himself, MICKEY stopped by. This was our first time talking to Mickey all week. We weren't gonna let Juliana have all the pics with him by herself.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04503.jpg
Then the music started and the characters got their napkins twirling. They got everyone involved... but they weren't really near our table. It was OK! We were spinning our napkins and having fun. We also got to see Goofy and the girls took their picture with Minnie.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04504.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04508.jpg
I think the best part of Chef Mickey's is the dessert.:cool1: Between the ice cream (with multiple toppings), rice krispy treats, chocolate cake, cookies, mickey head oreos, and all the other desserts, you could have a full meal of dessert. So naturally between the three of us we tried 'em all! We finished up eating and were going to goto downtown disney for the evening. But before we could get out of the Contemporary, Juliana wanted to take a ride on the monorail. Maybe she was feeling deprived cuz we didn't go on any rides today. So we rode the loop around then headed to Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney was busy. We went to a few stores and me and Juliana rode the, as Juliana would say it 'the horsey ride'.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04511.jpg
We stayed at DTD for about 2 hours, then we went back to CSR to get ready for bed. We had another early breakfast ressie in Epcot on Thursday.

Not boring at ALL! I'm lovin' every minute of your TR! You all are such a beautiful family - looks like you have lots of fun together!
So meal was better at 1900 PF? Bkfst or dinner? I was thinking we'd do 1900PF for dinner and Chef Mickey and Akerhaus for bkfst. Good choices?? We plan Crystal palace too but I think maybe for lunch. Not sure on that one.
That's awsome that you had such a perfect table at Ohana's! I hope we get that lucky when we're there! Oh and how did you get Juliana the mac & cheese there? Did they automatically bring it or you had to ask for it? My girls aren't huge "meat" eaters so not sure if the noodles alone will fill them up!

I never have done Chef Mickey's breakfast. I can't really see how breakfast could get messed up. If you want incentive to get to MK early, book CP at 8:05. If you want to have some one-on-one time with Hatter, Alice, and Mary Poppins do 1900. Both breakfasts were very good.
When our waiter came over at 'Ohanas we asked him if there was a kids menu because she was picky. He gave us a few options and Juliana picked the mac & cheese. The best part about it... we didn't get charged extra. SHHHHHHHHH don't tell anyone.

I'm so glad I found your trip report! :) Your daughter is adorable!! We were in Florida & Disney around the same time as you (we went to Clearwater, which is near Tampa, from Feb 23-28, when we drove down to Disney and stayed until the 5th.) I can't believe how quickly you are writing your report and pics! I've only finished my trip report from Oct '07, never finished posting my pics from that trip, and have been to Disney 3 times since then, lol. I'm so glad you are quicker than I am, since I'm loving reading your report, and your pics are so beautiful.
We did 1900 PF for dinner in Sept, but now I want to try it for breakfast. Your Ohana experience is WAY better than ours was, lol. I can't believe someone just handed you TSM fastpasses because they already rode it! I could ride it all day nonstop, and it still wouldn't be enough!
Oh, and I think the loud toilet flushing is all over Disney resorts. Don't know what the deal is!
Can't wait for the next update. :)

I didn't write about this but when we went to the pool on Wednesday 3/4, there was a family that was getting a photo shoot done at the pool. There were 2-3 CM's with them wearing suits and the photographer and 2 people helping him. There was a dad, mom, son, and daughter. I think that is the 'ideal' family that you see in advertising. But hey- i'd be willing. Maybe Disney can fly me, DW, & DD down to FL, put us up in the Grand Floridian, and take some pics of Juliana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can see why they do it... but you are right. Does EVERY pic have to be like that?
On a side note when we were there in October we saw another family being followed around with cameras in AK. We were on the TriceraTop spin. and the family was on as well. They must of rode like 3-4 times in a row with cameras taping. And I think on some of Disney's park pages they are on there.... ummmm I wonder how you get picked for this?

Love your photos...your daughter is beautiful....more so than Cinderella.
A few years ago, we paid to have a Disney photographer for an hour to take photos of us. We had them done at the GF, and there is a small entourage that is with them, so it could have been that. We could have had them go anywhere with us. It was worth the money, we were there with 2 other families and just split the cost....I want to say it was $300 for the hour, which included all the proofs.
We leave in 4 more days for my youngest son's first visit and I am just popping out the seams!!!! Keep your report coming.

When Travel Channel was looking for people to tape for their shows - they advertised on the disboards!! And I think two families did get picked! (I sure dont remember their names - one was a Disney Dad - he had 2 sons and a wife, they stayed at Animal Kingdom, they talked about their touring styles. The other mom had 2 little kids, her dh, and maybe her extended family? They stayed at Pop and she talked about baby swap passes, and her touring plans...)
still searching for a link! (but its been a couple of years - maybe 4!)
Wow here's what a casting post looks like:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1826272
and I do think you had to have a trip planned - that they would pay for 2 days maybe? and you were at their disposal for filming, if i remember the kids had a hard time, and the one mom was surprised that they did so little during the filming!

Thanks for watching!!!! Its kinda hard to hear all the conversation because it was quite loud in there.
I'm not an expert... but by reading these boards i've gained so much great info. While reading everyones opinions, you have to keep in mind that thats all they are OPINIONS. You have passionate people that will love or hate the same thing. Your personal experience might be better or worse. :confused3
I think that I would pick Crystal Palace. It all depends what you are looking for. Besides CRT, i believe CP is the only character dining in MK. So if you want to stay in the park, CP is the way to go..... although CM is just a short monorail ride (or walk) away. Food wise I think CP might be a little better. But I only have dinner to compare. We didn't get a chance to talk to Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy at the parks, so it was nice to see and get pictures with them. Honestly though I don't think you can go wrong with either place. If you have any other specific questions let me know!!!!!:) :) :)

That drives my family crazy because my father passed away from cancer when my sisters and I were 16, 14, and 11. We went to Disney that first Christmas because we just couldn't stand to be home (1994 when they still had the Christmas parade with Regis actually filmed during Christmas.) They were walking around looking for families to feature during the little segments and mentioned to us that they were looking for a more 'traditional' family. My mom was sooooo annoyed!

OK..... We came home 1 1/2 weeks ago and I'm already forgetting some things. I can't believe I didn't think of this before.
When we arrived at CSR on Sunday, we took a little walk to check everything out. Well Juliana kept saying "HI' and waving to the garbage cans. Melody & I were like huh???? Then we realized that on our 2 previous trips Juliana ran into the talking garbage can. (i can't remember his name) The first time was March 08 in front of the Conservation Station in AK. Also in October in a store in MK. Juliana was the only kid around- the garbage can and her had a 10 minute conversation. Here's a pic from October.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC03970.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC03969.jpg
So on Monday in MK before the parade, we saw him again and Juliana got a kick out seeing the talking garbage can. So for the rest of the week she would say hi and wave to garbage cans at CSR and at every park. There were a few people that thought Juliana was saying HI to them... but she was really saying Hi to garbage cans!:lmao: I'm sure there were some people out there thinking we had a 'strange' kid.:rotfl2:
OK time to talk about Thursday!!!!! :)
Today was our Epcot day. We had a 9:05 ressie at Akersus Princess Breakfast. So we were up early catching the bus to head over there. (Did I already mention that we loved the busses?) We were headed to Norway and stopped to take a few pics along the way.

I must say it was a beautiful morning. It was a much warmer start than the last 3 days. We got to Akersus and checked in about 8:50. There were quite a few families waiting to get in. We were called and we got to see Belle right away. They took some pictures of Juliana and Belle (and they brought us the picture 1/2 way through our meal). Here's one we took.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04517.jpg
We were seated and our waitress came to say hi and take our drink order. She explained how you had to go up to the buffet for some items and the eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes were brought to the table. Just as the waitress left here comes Aurora.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04519.jpg
We took our pictures. Just as we stood up to goto the buffet, our hot food came out. We went anyways to see what else there was in the buffet- fruit, bagels, breads, cinnamon rolls, muffins, plus more. Me and Melody both got a cinnamon roll and fruit. I also grabbed a muffin. We went back to the table and starting eating.
While we were eating, we got to see the other princesses. Mulan was first and Juliana didn't want to take a picture with her. She was scared. I picked her up and took the pic. After Mulan we saw Jasmine and Snow White back to back, all within 10 minutes. That was good because we didn't have to keep stopping Juliana from eating.

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04528.jpg
The food was good- not bad, not great. One thing I liked were the cheesy potatoes. I asked our waitress for more. The muffin was really good. I actually went up later and got another muffin. Once again I feel it is hard to mess up breakfast. Just make sure you are prepared to pay the $30 for breakfast. We used a TS off our dining plan for this meal. We to this breakfast for obvious reasons... to see the princesses. We got up to leave and Juliana decided to pose.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04530.jpg
It was 10 o'clock which was pretty good considering. I think this was our shortest character meal. From entering to leaving it took 50 minutes.
We walked over to The Land get FP's for Soarin. Neither Melody or I have rode it before. Last time we didn't do Epcot and last March there were no FP's left and over 2 hour wait. Got the FP then we went on Living With The Land (never did this either). It was pretty cool showing different growing techniques and the enormous fruit that they grow. After this we stopped at the Kidcot Fun Stop. Juliana did a little coloring.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04535.jpg
We still had time to kill before going on Soarin. We went to see Nemo. There was hardly a wait maybe 5 minutes. Juliana has never sat through the whole Finding Nemo movie but she remembered the ride from last year and knows the characters. After Nemo stopped by to check out the fish and to do Turtle Talk w/ Crush.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04541.jpg
We get into the theater and there was a lot of people. All the kids were sitting in the front and the parents were on the benches. I asked Juliana if she wanted to sit in front by herself and she said yes. I was kinda shocked but I said 'Ok i'll get you after' and moved back about 10 feet. Still near her and able to see her.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04542.jpg
Last time we saw this,(3/08) Juliana didn't like it. We had to take her out of the show. This time she loved it! She was so into the show and listening attentively to Crush. It was really cute.
When the show was over we headed back to The Land to ride Soarin. We got rite on. It was really cool, although at the end in the night scene, I felt a little dizzy. Once we both rode it was 12:30. LUNCH TIME!
We ate at Sunshine Seasons. We never ate here before... what a selection! I ended up having sweet & sour chicken, curry chicken, rice, and veggies. It was really good. I think Mel had the Ham on Foccacia. She liked it as well. Juliana had good 'ol PB&J. One cool part of Sunshine Seasons is the bakery. There were so many choices. On the DDP, once again, dessert is included so I got the chocolate mousse cake and Melody got the key lime pie. Both desserts were awesome. It was a great lunch.
After lunch we rode a few more rides including Mission:Space and Spaceship Earth. Spaceship Earth was interesting. We loved the pictures they took and how they put them on the screen in the 'car' we were riding in. Juliana loved seeing all the stars when you get to the top. We checked out Figment then had a little snack. Juliana's first Mickey Bar!!!!!!!!!! (Whatever you do.. don't read the nutritional info on the wrapper)

The crowds were light and the weather was gorgeous. It was around 77 degrees. By this time it was 3:45 and we were going to head to the world showcase.

[QUOTE=MaryAz;30869342]Yay more posts. I think you have reviewed all the character meals we are doing except CRT-did you go there?? We are doing bkfst.QUOTE]
I know you're not asking me but as 'that's nice' didn't do it, I thought I'd answer. I did CRT for breakfast in 2006. It's expensive but we all really liked it. Nice character interaction, the servers were LOVELY and the food was nice. Don't be afraid to ask though if you don't like something food wise. It was our first character meal and we were a little intimidated. Mind you, one of our party has a wheat intolerance and the chef himself came out to see what he could cook for him - so nice! Oh, and eating in the castle - just magic!

I'm trying to finish the second part tonight. That will only leave 3 days left... one of those was an early departure. :(

I've never done breakfast at 'Ohana... yet. The only thing that is served is on one platter the scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. In another bowl the potatoes. Every thing else is like a buffet. You have to go up and get it. It was good and worth it for the princesses. If there were no princesses, its an expensive $30 breakfast!:badpc:

I enjoyed the part about Akerhaus! My 3 yr old is OBSESSED with princesses so we plan to go there as well - also bkfst since the lunch/dinner food isn't at all appealing to us. I've read only good things about the bkfst there and it looks like Juliana enjoyed herself!!!
Here's a question - for anyone really - about the princesses. My Abby is VERY observant. And, truthfully, some of the princesses don't look too much like the ones in the movies. (Mulan, Snow White....) Do young kids NOTICE that they don't look the same as in the movie? Or, if they see Snow White looking one way at Akerhaus and then see her looking a bit different over at MK, do they notice??? I hope not!

We met 2 different Aurora's and 2 different Cinderella's on this trip. DD didn't mention anything about them looking different. I think kids are in awe that they are standing in front of them and talking face to face with them. But my DD was just turning 3 so I don't know what will happen when they get older. As far as them looking like the movies, you I think most of them look pretty close. Plus the movies are cartoons and these are the 'real life' princesses.:thumbsup2

So we're heading over to the world showcase. We have a dinner ressie at Le Cellier @ 6:05. We start over at Mexico and go inside the temple. I didn't realize how big it was inside there. We went on the El Rio de Tiempo. It was a cute ride starring the three caballeros. We never did it before. It was relaxing. Juliana started her Kidcot mask.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04562.jpg
Poor Donald..... always getting picked on.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04564.jpg
I don't know what it is about that temple but when we came out we were mighty thirsty!;) So in trying to find something to quench our thirst, what do we find? The Margarita Stand!!!:cool1: Melody gets the fiesta margarita with a little sugar on the rim. She's loving it. They don't sell beer there so I find myself a nice cold XX at Cantina de San Angel. OK now we're ready to see the WORLD! Before we can get out of Mexico, we spot Mexican Donald hanging out. We had to get a picture with him and have him sign Juliana's book!
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04577.jpg
We kept making our way around. Juliana was having so much fun making her mask. We had to explore each country to find the Kidcot stop. Some were easy to find while others......not so easy! In China at the Kidcot stop the CM was so nice to Juliana. She wrote Happy Birthday to her in Chinese and stamped her mask with her Chinese zodiac sign- the dog!!!! Juliana's favorite stuffed animal that goes everywhere with her is a little dog that she named 'Puppy'. Melody and I got a kick out of her sign and both agreed that it fit Juliana to a 'T".
Our next stop was Germany. The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear Germany is beer! So we had to stop and I got an Octoberfest.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04582.jpg
Juliana was still having a ball with her mask and kept trying to look out of the eye holes:goodvibes
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04579.jpg
Off to Italy. On a side note...... walking clockwise around the showcase in the late afternoon is kinda tough. You are looking rite into the sun. We'll have to keep this in mind for the future.:cool2: Sorry about that... Oh yea Italy. We got to Italy and Juliana was excited to add another piece to her mask.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04584.jpg
In Italy there is a little area near the fountain that is elevated. Its kinda like a little patio. Juliana was singing and dancing up on it for 10 minutes. People were watching her and I was video taping it. It was funny.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04587.jpg
It was already 5 by this time so we had to pick up the pace. It started to get a little chilly so we stopped to get Juliana changed.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04591.jpg
We were moving on. We stopped in the American Adventure, then onto Japan. There was a drumming exhibition that we watched for a few minutes.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04590.jpg
Took a pic of the 'ball'
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04589.jpg
It was getting close to our ressie by this time, so we trucked it on over to Canada for our dinner. We checked in about 6 and waited to be seated... and waited... and waited. While waiting I was playing with my camera. How did I get a flower picture on here?
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04598.jpg
After 15 minutes I went to the desk and asked if we were getting close to being called and the girl asked me to hold on for minute. I said sure. And I waited for a her answer. Once again I waited and waited. I was just standing there looking at Melody. I shrugged my shoulders and went back to sit with her. We finally got seated about 6:40. I was kinda annoyed because I figured Juliana was hungry by this time, but I wanted to have a nice dinner, so I tried to forget it.
We had a nice waitress and she brought us the breadsticks. All three us us started killing them. We got Juliana a hotdog off the kids menu. It came with soup and ice cream. She wouldn't eat the soup so Mel and I split it. It was really good. I wish I ordered it for an appetizer. Juliana was happy eating the hotdog. Melody got the experience- field greens, prime rib(Melody thought it was quite fatty), and the Canadian chocolate moose. I got what I was waiting for all trip and what has been hyped on the DIS since I started coming on here- The FILET MIGNON. It was sooooooo tender and the mushroom risotto was so good. I eat filet often and this lived up to the hype.:thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay:
It was desert time and I got the S'mores.

After eating all this we were pretty stuffed. The dinner actually came out pretty fast and we were out of the restaurant about 7:30. We were tired so we decided to head back to the room.

We were at Epcot the same day as you! Though, only in the afternoon, then we had to fly home. :( Like you said, just as it was starting to get warm.
We LOVE Sunshine Seasons. Definitely our favorite quick service place. I don't know why people don't talk about it more! It has yummy, healthy food. We ate lunch there earlier in the week, and then got a sandwhich to eat on the plane our last day. Well, I got a sandwhich, my dad got the strawberry shortcake (which we both had earlier in the week), haha.
I've been to Norway for dinner, but not breakfast. We'll have to think about that for our Dec trip since it sounds good.
Can't wait for the next update. :)

I was impressed with Sunshine Seasons. There are so many choices. Plus the portions are very big. After I got my dessert, I saw someone sitting next to us with the strawberry shortcake. It looked so good. I will be getting that next time!!:)

No the photopass guy did. Although she did take her first few pictures on this trip! My camera is a little to bulky for her to hold. DW has a small camera that we didn't bring that she probably would do better with.

I wake up on Friday 3/6 with Stitch yelling at me .... again! We have a 8:10 resie at Kona for breakfast. We are also meeting Melody's cousin, his wife, and their son in MK. They live in the area and have resident passes. We take the bus to MK then walk over to the monorail to ride to the Poly. We walk up to the waiting area and the monorail pulls up. I asked the CM if the front was open to ride in. He checks and said it is!!!! Our 1st ride in the front. I didn't get any pics because once again I was video taping. It was cool being able to see where we were going. It was weird when we went into the Contemporary. The driver was a little odd, I kept asking him questions about the monorail and it seemed like he didn't want to answer them. He kept giving me 1 word answers. Good thing it was a short ride. We arrived at Poly got off and headed to Kona.
We checked in at the desk about 15 minutes late. There were quite a few open tables and we were seated rite away. This was our second time here. We tried it last time because I read so much about the Tonga toast here on the DIS and I wanted to try it out. Melody & I weren't disappointed last time, so we wanted to eat here again.
We started off ordering the 100% Kona pressed pot of coffee. I never drink coffee. I've never really liked it....... except for Kona coffee. I tried it while on our honeymoon in Hawaii. I loved it. I was drinking it all the time. Sometimes we order Kona coffee while we are home and I drink it. When I try to drink any other coffee, I can't stand it.:sad2:
I ordered the Lilikoi juice and the macadamia nut pancakes. Melody ordered the Tonga toast and Juliana had the Mickey pancake. Just to let you know, I love the juice. It is sooo refreshing. It is a little expensive though at $4 a glass. I don't care.... I'll order it every time. The pancakes were EXCELLENT!:woohoo: They were made with macadamia nuts baked into the pancakes with pineapples on top covered with macadamia nut butter. I barely used any syrup on them, although I did use some of Mel's strawberry compote. Her Tonga toast was AWESOME! I got it the last time. Its almost like having dessert for breakfast. There were tons of bananas inside. Juliana had 3 huge pancakes placed on the plate like a Mickey head. It was a lot for her to eat. She also got the fresh pineapple with it. This was one of our best meals. I will be going here every trip!:yay:
After breakfast we were leaving but I had to take a picture of some bamboo I saw when we were here on Tuesday night.:earsboy:
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04613.jpg
So we headed back to the monorail for a PACKED standing room only ride over to MK. We walked into the park just before 10 and saw Daisy. This was the first time we saw her all week. So we had to wait in line and take a picture.:goodvibes
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04615.jpg
We headed up Main St. and stopped to talk to the Mayor. He liked my Yankees shirt. LOL
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04616.jpg
I asked if he had time to take a picture with Melody. He didn't seem to mind. He also signed Juliana's book.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04617.jpg
We finally met up with Melody's family. Her cousin got called into work so he was going to meet up with us later. It was nice to see them. One of the reasons I 'saved' my Yankees shirt for this day is because they are big Red Sox fans. It's always good to strike up the conversation.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04618.jpg
We headed up over to Pooh's Playful Spot. The kids were playing and Melody and her cousins wife were talking. I guess that means I'm watching the kids? :confused3 They were having a blast. We stayed here about 25 minutes.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04622.jpg
Since her family comes all the time, I knew today was going to be more of a relaxing day. The girls were chatting and I was the third wheel. We headed over to the carousel ride.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04629.jpg
Today was turning out to be a beautiful day. The crowds were pretty low and the weather was going to be in the 80's. We rode Dumbo and Pooh. then it was time for lunch..... ALREADY?!?!?!? Since we were in Fantasy Land we looked for the closest place to eat. We found the hotdog stand and it had no lines, so the kids had hotdogs for lunch. While we were sitting the band came out and starting playing. Melody and I weren't really hungry yet.
After lunch we walked by the back of the castle over to Liberty Square. We still had quite a few snack credits left, so I stopped for a funnel cake. (once again thanks to the DIS!) It was really good. We kept moving over to Frontier Land. DOLE WHIP TIME!!! I wasn't even close to being done with my funnel cake and I'm ordering everyone Dole Whips! I got the pineapple float.:cheer2: YUM it was really good. This was my lunch. LOL
So we are enjoying our drinks rite across from Aloha Isle. Juliana and CS (cousins son) are having a blast. Juliana kept hearing the train whistle and she is teaching CS to mimic the train. It was really funny! The kids were getting a kick out of it too!

We headed over to the Jungle Cruise to get a FP but the wait was 20 minutes. We decided just to get in line. I think the line was even faster than 20 minutes. I was trying to keep the kids under control. (they were having too much fun!) Then I started egging them on.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04647.jpg
We had a funny tour guide on the cruise. Then headed over to ride the carpet ride. The camel was spitting but it didn't get us.

After the carpet ride CW (cousins wife)(i don't know if these are official abbreviations) was trying to get CS to take a nap. He was getting cranky. So we split up for a little while and Melody, Juliana, and I stopped by the Country Bear Jamboree. It was a cute show... it must of been great back in the day. When we got out it was parade time.

After the parade we met back up with CW & CS. Now Juliana was getting fussy. I made her lay down in her stroller and at 3:55 she fell asleep. I remember the time perfectly because Melody didn't think she would fall asleep. I knew Juliana would(rubbing of the eyes) so I bet Melody $100 that she would be sleeping by 4. So at 3:55 she was passed out. I WON THE BET! (i'm still waiting for my money though) We checked out a few stores and headed toward Main St. to meet Melody's cousin. We met him and did a little more shopping. Juliana woke up around 4:45. Perfect timing. It gave her just enough time before dinner at Crystal Palace.
The only time I could get for dinner was 5:10 and I had to have a split reservation. 3 at one table and 3 at another. While checking in they saw this on the computer. We waited about 10 minutes to be called. When we were seated, we were all at the same table so it worked out perfectly. Melody's CS(cousins son) loves the Pooh characters. This was his first experience at a character meal. Both him and Juliana had a blast.

CP was really busy and a few times when we went up to get food the lines were really long. They moved fast though. I don't remember exactly what was on the menu, or what I ate. But i remember it was all good!:thumbsup2
CS's birthday is March 15th and Juliana's is the 11th, so I told our waiter and he brought them a little treat.

We had a great meal, and it was nice spending time with her family. By the time we got out of there it was 6:30 and starting to get dark.

We had FP's from earlier in the day for Peter Pan so we all rode, then jumped onto Small World. It was about 7:15 now and Melody's family was ready to go so we said our goodbyes. Its always sad to say goodbye when you know you won't see someone for a while. Spectromagic was going on about this time and Fantasy Land was clearing out. We went on the teacups with no wait. Then we headed on down to the circle in front of the castle for the fireworks.
We found a nice spot about 7:40 and were waiting. There was a family next to us who had one of those scooters. A teenaged girl was sitting on it with a 5-6 year old in her lap. I don't know what they were doing but the scooter went off the curb and was running over a little girls leg.:scared1: :scared1: I tried to hold the scooter but it kept going forward so I grabbed the little girl by the arm and pulled her to the side. She was crying.... I think I probably hurt her arm. But i think it was better than her getting totally run over. It was a bad situation but it could of been a lot worse.  The older lady started yelling at the teenaged girl and I just felt bad for the little girl. We made sure she was ok.
It was just about time for the fireworks again!!!!!!! Juliana wanted me to hold her. I have her in one arm and I was trying to take pictures with the other arm. (btw you really need to hold the camera steady for fireworks shots which is hard to do when you have a squirming 2yrold in your arms!) We saw tinkerbell fly again and watched the fireworks.

How nice you were able to also squeeze in a bit of time with family! And nice for Juliana to have a playmate for the day as well! So you went to CP for dinner and also bkfst, right? Which was better? Have any preference?? Was it crowded?

Thanks for the reply. The eating in the castle is what sold me over 1900 PF and Akherus.

Breakfast was busy... dinner was packed! The lines were long at times for dinner but they moved quickly. The characters are the same for both meals... so I think it comes down to what fits your schedule better. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very good. Breakfast for adults was $20 and dinner was $30. I asked DW and she said she liked dinner better. So I think everyone has their own opinion;)
I'm still enjoying your report very much! Your fireworks pictures are fantastic!
If I was able to hold the camera a little steadier I would of had a lot more. Those were the best of the bunch. :)

We were at HS on Monday 3/2 and then left later that afternoon for home. It's always so sad to end a trip at Disney and go home to a snow storm! I jsut thought it was funny as I read your trip report because I kept saying, hey we just ate there too and this place and this place and this place!

What a great report! (I've ony read the first 3 pages so far)
We have gone the same week the last 2 years, but this year we went a week later. It's such a nice tinme of year usually. Did the wether warm up for you? It was really warm when we were down there. The crowds are usually pretty good too.
You have a beatiful little girl. She reminds me a little of my DD (she's a year older, and has blue eyes.)

Alright on to Tuesday! 3/3!
Continued............
It sounds liek you got your first FP at 8:55 ( I could be wrong there) and you usually can't get another till 2 hours later, or after the time of the FP, so maybe the time hadn't passed yet?
I know I tried to get a Peter Pan one 2 hours after I got a Pooh one, and though the clock on Peter Pan said it was the correct time, the FP machine wouldn;t give me one. I asked a CM and he said they FPachines were on computer time and it didn;t always match with everyone elses time. LOL! He told me to wait a few minutes and try again, and then it worked. ;)

.

One other question..Did you guys do the Delixe dining plan? We always do the regular one, and I have debated trying deluxe sometime. But we seem to have a hard enough time eating what we have. We usually do buffets or al you can eat TS, and we seem like we aren't even hungry much for the CS's alot of the times. We usually end up bring snacks home too. So I was wondering what your take on it was? or did you just buy some meals out of pocket and do the regular plan?

We did the regular dining plan and payed oop for the other meals. I set up a spread sheet showing which meals would be better using the DP and which one would be better paying oop for. We could of cut out a few breakfasts but hey, we were on vacation!!!!! I can let you know which ones we did if you want.:)

Well we woke up and its Saturday. Our last real day in Disney:eek: We were getting ready to goto breakfast but I had my camera out looking for something to take a picture of and found one of the only Mickey's in our room.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04747.jpg
We had to switch our Friday and Saturday park days to be able to hang out with Melody's family in MK on Friday. So we originally had Donald's Safari Breakfast @ Tusker House booked on Friday, but I had to cancel it. I tried to get another ressie on Saturday but it was all booked up. We decided to try out the Pepper Market at CSR for breakfast. It was such a warm morning we walked over to it. The lake was so still I had to take more pictures!

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/DSC04751.jpg
Being our 1st time eating at the Pepper Market we had to figure out the 'system' since we were using this as one of our CS meals. We were shown our table and ordered our OJ's. While we were waiting for our waiter to come back, Juliana did a little coloring.(and was also being quite silly)
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04754.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04753.jpg
Our waiter came back and then we headed up to get some food. They had a big selection.... the hardest part was figuring out what went with our meals being on the DP. The CM's there really weren't all too helpful. We had a few questions and I don't know if there was a language barrier or an attitude barrier.:sad2: But we made out OK and had a good breakfast. I ended up with the southwest omelet and it was good. Melody had a bagel and a coffee and Juliana, once again had a Mickey waffle!
After breakfast we headed over to El Centro to catch our bus to AK. We hopped on the bus and we had to make a quick stop at Blizzard Beach then we were on our way to AK. I think CSR & AK share a backyard because the ride was really short. (another YAY for the busses!) We arrived at the gate at 9:40.... a little later than we wanted but after all week of busting it to the parks, it was fine.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04755.jpg
Our plan was to head over to the safari 1st, then wing the rest of the day from there. We stopped in front of the tree for a quick pic.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04756.jpg
On our way to the safari we saw Lilo & Stitch (yea the one yelling at me every morning this week!). There was a short line, maybe 3 people in it, so we HAD to stop to see them.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04759.jpg
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04757.jpg
We made it to the safari at 10 and we were deciding whether to get a FP or just get in line. The wait said 20 minutes.... we just got into line. It took exactly 20 minutes from the entrance to getting on the jeep. Being in a moving line, 20 minutes isn't bad.

Here's just a few pics of what we saw. Juliana had a fun time seeing the animals.
After the safari, Juliana took some time to bang on the drums in Harambe. Then we hurried over to the "Finding Nemo' show. I didn't know how well Juliana would sit for the 40 minute show but she had her eyes fixed on it the whole time and she loved it. I would suggest that everyone see this show. It was well done.:thumbsup2

After Nemo, we went over to DinoLand to ride a few rides. This was our 3rd time to AK and I've still never done Primeval Whirl. There was a 80 minute wait and no FP available. Guess I'll have to do it next time. I got a FP for DINOSAUR, then we went to get some food. I went to Flame Tree BBQ and the girls went to Pizzafari. The line was very long but it moved fast. I got the pulled pork sandwich w/ cole slaw and a water. I saw someone walking away with a beer and it looked so good. I had to have one too. Ordered one as well. Then I carried my food over to Pizzafari and met Melody & Juliana as they were trying to find a seat. We had lunch. My sandwich was awesome! It blew the pork sandwich that I had at HS away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be eating here every time I come to AK. (unless I eat somewhere else in AK!LOLOL) We finished lunch and headed over to EE. Another pic opt.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04800.jpg
Being that this was AK, I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I would. I did take quite a bit of video though. On our way over to EE, we (melody & I) got thirsty again. Time to find another drink. We remembered Yak & Yeti Quality Beverages from our last trip. Mel got the Yak Attack and she sucked it down. I think I ended up getting a Sapporo- a Japanese beer. It was good as well. OK... time to ride EE. We had gotten FP on the way to the Nemo show so we got right on. After we rode, we were getting hot. It was very warm and this was our last day. We decided skip the parade and to go back to CSR and enjoy some down time before our dinner ressie at Jiko. I know the title of this TR is about Character meals. This was the only day we didn't do one. With having to change park days, it messed up my schedule a bit. So back to the bus. There was a cute little girl 7ish that got on the bus when we stopped at BB. She ended up sitting next to us and was befriending Juliana. They were talking it up. Juliana makes friends so quickly (when she wants to:goodvibes)
We got dropped off, got changed, and headed to the pool. IT WAS PACKED- most likely because of this:

We tried to get Juliana a life jacket but they were all being used. So I brought her into the pool. Finally we found one and she was ready to go swimming. All she wanted to do was swim all by her self.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04804.jpg
Then we saw the same little girl that we saw on the bus. We found out her name was Mya and she was from Canada. She was so cute.. she was trying to teach Juliana how to swim. Then Mya was teaching Juliana how to do spins while jumping in the pool. They were playing for about 30 minutes. Mya went to talk to her parents...... when she came back Melody, Juliana, and I were swimming together. She said "I've been wanting to ask you this since the bus but I was scared. Are you going the Luau tonight for dinner? I hope you are because it would be fun" We told her no and I think she got a little sad. I felt like getting my phone rite then and calling to see if they had any openings for dinner. Her parents came to get her shortly after and they left the pool. We had to get back to the room as well..... we had to get ready for dinner.:goodvibes

Your pics of CSR and the lake are absolutely beautiful! The lake was so still - great job:thumbsup2
I still haven't seen the Nemo show - last trip I finally got to see the Lion King show and it was amazing! Julianna is a doll - how sweet that the little girl befriended her and they got to play in the pool. The last day always seems to go by so fast in my opinion but seems like you got to experience new things and had a great time!

did you use your counter service credits for the above??? (yikes)

We wanted to see the lion king show too, but thought it might be a little too much for our day here. DW & I saw it on broadway. It was awesome.... if the one at AK could be 1/2 as good, it still would be great!

I used 2CS for my omelette and the waffle, 2 OJ's, a bottled water, and the coffee. Then a snack credit for the bagel w/ peanut butter. So it wasn't 3 CS meals. :goodvibes Thank goodness!

Great report! We arrived at Coronado Springs -- with our DD3-- the day you left and stayed in Cabana 8A. Great resort, right? Glad you cleared up Pepper Market, I glanced it and was confused. We never had a chance to eat there. Love your report. It's helping me relive and hold on to my trip for a bit longer! The trip goes by way too quickly!

It is oly 1 "more sleep" till we go.:cool1:
Just a quick question, the lifejackets in the pool for the little ones. Do you just get them while you are at pool or do you keep them for the duration of your stay?
Can you take them to the waterparks?
Thanks if you could answer them

There were lifejackets at the pool for daily use and I did see a sign if you want one for the duration of your stay to get it at the marina. If you can find a Coronado thread over on the resort boards, ask ********, KatMark, or JamesLynn (a CSR CM)... they are very helpful and know every thing about CSR!!!!:)

After getting ready for dinner, we headed out to the rental for the drive over to Animal Kingdom Lodge for our 5:55 dinner at Jiko. Juliana was being her cute self again.
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/djtimbct/Disney%203-09/DSC04810.jpg
She wanted to wear her lanyard with the pins she was accumulating over the past year. She's yet to trade any... those are HER pins and she's not giving them to anybody!!!!!!:lmao:
We started our short drive over to AKL we saw the parking lot to AK and even saw the tree of life and Expedition Everest sticking out in the distance. We pulled up to the gate at AKL and there was something a little different than when we went to our other ressies at other resorts. The guard asked if he could help us. We told him we had a dinner reservation at Jiko. He had a pile of papers and started looking through it. It took him a minute or two then said "OK I found you. Enjoy your dinner." We thought it was a little weird at the time. Come to find out later that night on the news either Britney Spears or K-Fed and the kids was staying somewhere in Disney that weekend for a concert. Then when I came home and got my DIS fix, there were many posts about them staying at AKL! We parked the car and walked over to dinner.
We were a few minutes early so instead of checking in, we took a little 'tour' of the lobby.

Then we headed out side to see if we could see any animals. It was such a nice evening. There were people relaxing on benches just watching the animals. We could also see quite a few people sitting on their balcony's just 'relaxing'...... (something we didn't do much of this tripLOLOL)

We walked back into AKL and headed to Jiko. We got to the counter and checked in..... well... not really. The CM couldn't find my ressie. He was checking all kinds of ways. He finally found it- It was for SUNDAY! I know I would have never made a ressie for Sunday considering I would be sitting in my house in CT 1200 miles away! He asked us to be seated and he would find us a table.
Now Jiko wasn't totally filled. There were empty table throughout the restaurant. We were seated and I almost felt a little out of place. There were a few kids in the restaurant.... but not many. Juliana is a very well behaved kid. She listens good and she knows what we expect of her. Sometimes I think our expectations may be high, even we forget that she is 2 (now 3). It is a good thing she is so well behaved because I don't know what we would have done if she wasn't. :lovestruc
We were looking over the menu and our waitress came over. Melody ordered a martini and I got a beer. We decided to get the Taste of Africa as an appetizer. There were 3-4 different types of bread and 3 different sauces to dip them in. It was good. We ordered our meals. I ordered the filet. It was placed on a bed of mac & cheese and had a red wine sauce. Melody had the pan-seared scallops. They came over butternut squash gratin with an apple slaw & apple vinaigrette. I'm not a huge fan of butternut squash but this might be close to the best food I've ever tasted in my life! I wished I didn't order filet and ordered this- although the filet was excellent as well. Juliana had the kids mac & cheese. We were debating whether to get dessert or not.. We decided not. We were all pretty full. This meal came to $130 with the tip.
Jiko has a different feel than all of the other restaurants we were at all week. We were glad we ate here and experienced it, but I don't think we will be rushing back here on our next trip. Keep in mind if you are on the DDP Jiko is 2 TS meals per person. (we paid oop)
We left the restaurant and walked around for a few minutes. We checked out the pool area. There were quite a few people swimming. It was close to 8 by now. It was such a nice warm night. We went into the gift shop and looked around for a little while. Then headed back to our room..... we had our bags to pack. :guilty:
After we were packed, I walked over the the concierge in El Centro to see about adding days to my ticket and also adding the no expiration option. After dealing with them for a while they suggested I goto guest services in DTD. I hopped on the bus and went. When the bus was dropping us off at DTD I quickly realized that I picked the right resort!:goodvibes Our bus was changing from a CSR bus to an All-Stars bus. It dropped us off at the All-Stars stop. There were so many people at this stop including many teenagers. Believe me I have nothing against them but trying to get off the bus was tough cuz they were trying to get on. I was watching while I was walking away and they didn't even come close to fitting on this bus.
I walked over to guest services and I realized I messed up. With the 4/3 deal, I should have made our passes 10 day and added the no-expiration option when I originally made our reservation. (Long story search the boards to find out more) So after staying in DTD for about 20 minutes total, I walked back to the bus stop and quickly got on a bus back to CSR. By this time it was close to 11 and I had to get up early on Sunday. We were leaving.:sad2::sad2:

I wake up to the alarm going off... then the phone's ringing. Its 6:10am. What made it worse was it was like it was 5:10. The time change was last night. I rolled out of bed, took a quick shower, and starting getting all the last things in our bags. Melody was packing as well. We let Juliana sleep till 6:45, then we had to get her up as well. When I opened the door, there was an envelope that had all our room charges in it. I didn't have to goto the front desk (which I ended up doing anyways). I started packing up the car while Melody was getting Juliana changed. We did one last look over the room and shut the door.:sad1: It was 7am. WOW we were on schedule!
We drove over to the Pepper Market for breakfast. We had 2 CS & 1 snack credit left. I think I had eggs every day this trip. I was egged out! I ended up eating a waffle. It was nice and hot made right in front of me. It also had bananas and nuts on top. YUMMMM. (still not as good as those macadamia nut pancakes from Kona) I forget what Melody had. Juliana ate some cereal.
Juliana had a big princess balloon that we had bought her earlier in the week. We told her it would be nice if she would give it to someone because we couldn't bring it on the plane with us. So she found a little girl sitting a few tables away from us and walked over to her. Juliana asked her if she wanted her balloon. The little girl did but her dad explained that they were leaving today too and they couldn't accept the balloon. I felt bad and I started wondering if this was the right thing to be doing. About 2 tables away there was another little girl and her brother. Juliana asked the girl if she wanted her balloon. The little girl didn't want it but the little boy did. She gave him the balloon and we walked away. I was so proud of her. Being an only child and not being around a lot of kids because of her being sick, she sometimes has a hard problem sharing. (and the fact she's only 2!) She still talks about her balloon that she gave to the little boy.
We stopped by the gift shop to spend the last of the money on our $200 gift card. Then I stopped by the front desk to make sure the roads I was going to be driving on weren't closed because of the princess half marathon. Got my info and started walking out of El Centro. Holding Juliana's little hand in one hand and Melody's in my other, I knew we had a great vacation that we would never have the 'same' experience again.
We got in the car and starting driving.

In 3 short days our daughter would be 3 years old, and the week leading up to her birthday was one of the greatest weeks we ever experienced as a family. It was time to head to the airport and get back to Connecticut and tell everyone about our adventures!:goodvibes

Its nice to be home early... I think we were in our house by 2:15pm, but next time it would be a little nicer to have a 12-1pm flight. That would still get us to our house by 6pm, which isn't too bad. The early flights are killers

My husband is always saying the same to me.. "are you on the DIS again?" and then I catch him looking through the posts... Hee!
I'll be subbing and following along!!!!
I have so enjoyed reading your TR and being able to share in the absolute supreme cuteness and sweetness of your little princess, Juliana is just too adorable and i'm so glad you all had a wonderful holiday together :goodvibes
Am looking forward to your next trip and you've certainly made me more excited (not that I needed a lot of extra encouragement mind you!) about planning our first trip to WDW with our little princess :cloud9:
God bless you all and have fun planning your next trip, cheers!! :flower3:
How old is you DD? Over on the resorts sections in the CSR threads, Juliana has been crowned the poster child of CSR! LOL
Well if you are bored I have a PTR :)
I subbed. Now I need to start reading it!:happytv:

Well that doesn't surprise me, she should be crowned the poster child of WDW she's that cute! Am gonna go read that CSR thread soon as I definitely want to stay there next trip.
My little princess Matilda is 16 months next week. We've been to Disneyland Paris with her (for her 1st birthday - my TR is posted on the Disneyland Paris TR section, November 2008 if you ever need to kill 10-15 mins :rotfl:) and we're going back to Disneyland Paris in September. We will probably go to WDW Sept 2010 or 2011 so she'll be either 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 when we go, a great age to visit WDW I think!

Juliana had fun when we went 3/08. She was about to turn 2. She had more stamina this time. She also wasn't as shy around the face characters this year. She had an autograph book this time and she really enjoyed getting them. So Matilda will be right around the age when Juliana went. I'll check out your TR!!:)

We loved CSR. As you can tell from the report, we didn't get to spend a lot of time there. Maybe next time we go I'll need to add an extra day just so we can chill at the resort for another day. We also didn't have hoppers which might of made us stop back at the resort mid-day if we were going to travel to another park for the evening.:goodvibes Have a great trip!

I was thinking of a few other things while I was reading over my TR (trying to wish we were still there) since I didn't do a pre-trip report.
Out of all the vacations we have taken, this last one took the most pre-planning of them all. I booked in November and starting making ressies the beginning of December. Although it was fun, it is also stressful trying to plan where we were going to be and what we wanted to eat 4 months later. I was checking Disney's website daily checking their parks schedules. I originally had Tuesday as our MK day. SpectroMagic was supposed to be that night. In January Spectro was switched to Monday. I called and swapped my Monday & Tuesday ressies. Luckily, besides a few time changes, I was able to get everywhere I wanted. Well about 2 weeks before we left, a new schedule was released. There were different days for EMH's and no Spectro Monday or Tuesday!!!
I guess stuff like this adds to the fun of planning a Disney vacation. :confused3 I have more to add.
To be continued.......

OMG this is absolutely my favorite picture! She looks sooooo cute here and her personality seems to shine through! I love this one!!!! princess:
Your wife and me would be a bad combo around "stars". I'm totally the same way. I would totally have a heart attack to see someone super famous in real life. LONG ago when Demi Moore and Robert Redford were filing Indecent Proposal, i was with my family in LA on vacation. We were at the park where they were filming and my mom and I were hoping (PRAYING) to see someone famous. Well as we were leaving we see a man (all alone) walking across the parking lot to a trailer. As he passes in front of us, he waves and winks at us in the car. It was ROBERT REDFORD! My mom and I just sat there screaming for about 10 min! He just laughed and went on into the trailer!
Well I'm sad your TR is over. You are an entertaining writer and have a beautiful family! God Bless the 3 of you!

I am researching (borderline planning) my family's (DH, MIL, DD (2)) first trip to WDW in December 2009 and I am thankful that I ran across your TR because you went to all the character meals I was considering!
Also, it's nice to read how your 2, nearly 3, year old did and I am wondering how mine will do.
Thank you, again, for writing your TR! It was a great read!

Here is another story......
When we were on our honeymoon we stopped in LA for 3 days on the way back from Hawaii. We went to this small Italian restaurant and Selma Blair was there. Personally I didn't really know who she was. DW was all giddy and calling her friends from her cell phone in the bathroom!!! She is all up on the People magazine and the celeb stuff..... I can care less!!!!:rotfl2:

We didn't have a bad experience with any character meals. There were a few little things like missing Tigger at CP but I think sometimes people take things too harsh and blow 'little' things out of proportion. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them for you!:goodvibes

Actually, I do have a question: you mentioned using the DDP and paying OOP for some of the meals; did you pay for your daughter OPP, or were some items not covered under the DDP (exluding your final dinner)?

Since Juliana was still 2, there was no charge for her at any of the buffets. At the TS meals there would be no charge if Juliana ate off our plates. The same with our CS meals. We just bought her lunch and dinner OOP off the kids menu. The only way to get her onto the DDP was to buy her park tickets and then add the DDP to her ticket. For that price, I'd rather spend less than $100 for the week paying OOP for her meals. I hope I answered your question.

Its too bad that its fuzzy:sad2:
There are 2 other shots and in one DD isn't looking and the other she is getting squeezed by Belle and DD face is smushed! So the fuzzy one is the best pic.... although its fuzzy.
We also saw Belle in Toontown but for some reason those pics aren't on my photopass. I wonder if the photographer thought he scanned my card then didn't? I'm not all too mad because I did get 2 good shots of it with my camera.

Well as we were leaving we see a man (all alone) walking across the parking lot to a trailer. As he passes in front of us, he waves and winks at us in the car. It was ROBERT REDFORD! My mom and I just sat there screaming for about 10 min! He just laughed and went on into the trailer!
This is too funny! My boss (who I've worked with for 34+ years) used to run a program in Washington. One of the panel discussions they had was based on the movie "Quiz Show" (I think that was the name) that Robert Redford directed. Well, Robert Redford was a member of the panel. My boss invited and paid for my DH and I go to DC for this meeting and the reception to follow. When he introduced us to Robert Redford I became totally tongue-tied, I couldn't get a word out of my mouth. It was so embarrassing. I've met other famous people (Barack Obama, Henry Kissinger, etc.) and have never had the problem I did with Robert Redford. :rotfl:

Speaking of MAW.... we just found out about a WISH that was just granted on Sunday. A girl that both DW and I knew growing up... her daughter had a brain tumor and had surgery and chemo at St. Judes. I believe she is 4 now. She was granted a Wish to goto Disney. We are so excited for her.
DW and I were discussing when we should call about Juliana's wish. I thought we should wait till she was around 5-6. That way she might get a little more out of it. But still young enough to experience some special magic. We might be planning a trip next year with friends. So that would bring her to 4yrsold. I don't think we can go twice next year.

Oh...that is awesome!
Please send her our way...if they want some info...our thread is really a great place to get info. We used it a LOT on our Wish Trip and I was so glad I knew some of what was going to happen so that we could plan well and have a more magical trip. :)

Actually...she can get qualified now. You can go ahead and send it and they will get the paperwork signed and all of that...and then she is qualified to receive a wish at any time! It never expires...
I think they encourage you to go ahead and get qualified, because it is easier to get the paperwork done when the doctors are seeing your DD so often.
Then the process itself would be shorter once she actually decides to make her wish. :)

We did the MNSSHP this past October. While we had fun, we did it on our arrival day.... BAD IDEA!!!!! We woke up at 5AM to take our flight. We thought Juliana would have taken a nap on the plane, or when we got to the hotel. It didn't happen. She stayed up the whole time! We got to MK at 4 and had fun , but by 8:30 she was done. We were standing to the right of the castle for wishes with the fireworks going on right above us. It was so loud and Juliana didn't even flinch!!
We have to go back down to Florida for a baptism in the fall(i think in November). Although the free dining will be done by then.:sad1: We might be able to do a day or 2 in the parks. Maybe even do the Christmas Party. I'd love to do a pre-trip report but we are so far from even thinking about this.:rolleyes1
