We stayed at the Sheraton World couple of years ago - nice place. You simply walk through the back of the resort, through a trail at the back, across the road and you're in Sea World (5 mins max).

If we were back to our room at 10pm each night, we could see the fireworks from Sea World - lovely.

Opposite Sheraton are Bennigans and a few other restaurants and just up the road is I-Drive with all its shops and restaurants.

We're trying Sheraton World this month, for the first time staying near Sea World ever. Want to see if it really is "walkable" to the park.
See if this link helps (or works, if I did it right):

Good Luck!

Thanks Dazzle-
That was the best description of the 'walk to the park' I've read. Looking forward to being there!

Thanks so much for your advice. I know I can always count on the DIS!

Right across the street is Reinssance Resort. It's costly, but it's a short walk across the Sea World parking lot.

The Renaissance is a very nice place. The rooms are beautiful.

We just booked at the new Residence Inn for August. They have a grand opening rate of $89 for a 1 bedroom with full kitchen and it includes a hot breakfast buffet. I'll report on how it was when we get back.

How did you find out about that rate?

Good choice, dysnymoml, the RI's in Orlando are nice.

We've stayed at the LBV location and really liked it. Someone posted the SW location pool is a little fancier.

Is $89 an internet rate or over the phone rate?

Nothing like a brand new hotel to stay in in Orlando:) :)

I originally found the Residence Inn rate in DH's Marriott Rewards packet, but it also showed up on the website as an introductory rate. It will be fun to try someplace new and with growing boys, having breakfast included is a big bonus!

I stayed at the new RI by Sea World in April. It is a nice place, neat pool, courtyard (with large sports court), and bar area. The rooms are large with all the amenities of home. Part of the resort faces I-4, so if you stay there, be sure to ask for a courtyard, pool view room (which is away from the road). If you can't find the link for the $89 intro rate, look under Marriott Rewards, and you should be able to find it there.
