Hi everyone!!

This is my first foray into a pre-trip report...heck any type of trip report for that matter! :) I hope I do this justice and don't sound like a goober :scared1:

Anyway, let me introduce the family. There is me, DW extraordinaire and Head Princess, Margaret. My favorite character is Belle and DH would say it is more of an obsession...:worship: ok, maybe it is. :lmao:

I have been married to DH, Rod :lovestruc , for almost 14 years and he is my Prince Charming. His favorite Disney character is Mulan. Which is good b/c I like her.

Our little Princess is Paige. She is 4 and is the light of our lives, sometimes she turns that light off and it gets dark, but then she turns it right back on. :rotfl2: Her favorite character is Ariel. Also a good choice as I like her also.

This will be the second family trip. We took DD for her 2nd b-day and brought my parents along for that one. This one will just be the 3 of us and I am extremely excited. :yay: :yay:

Here is how it all came to be:

At the end of January we decided to do a good behavior calendar, stickers for good days, x's for not so good days. Paige decided that after getting 12 stickers we would take her bowling. At the end of February, DH decided that if she got "lots" of stickers we would go to Disney World!!!!!   Of course all I heard was "go to Disney World"

That same weekend I decided to check out the price of flights to Florida. We had already decided to go over Labor Day since it required the fewest days off work. Guess what??? I found 3 round trip, direct flights for less than $500 total!!! :scared1: I couldn't believe it!! So, DH says, book it. Guess who is going to Disney World???

So far, we have plane tickets. That's it, nothing more, just plane tickets. But that is okay, I have a countdown going...at work. I am trying to keep this a secret from DD so it will be a surprise, not sure if I can keep up with it though. :confused3

Since I am the planner of the house, I have already bought a book to help me remember all those things I need to do before going....like book a room. :rotfl: No, seriously, I know I need to book a room but it is nice to have something to keep me sane until we fly out. I have some ideas of where I want to stay, yep it is all about where I want to stay b/c if Momma's not happy, ain't nobody happy! I would love to stay at POFQ but the economy may decide on All Star Sports. Either one works for me as long as I get to go. :dance3: I am trying to hold out a little longer to see what deals Disney drums up but am also checking out what kind a deal I get thru AAA. I have the best AAA TA and I know if I book thru her and Disney comes out with a better deal she will work her magic :wizard: to get that for me. I am soo lucky to have her.

That is all I have for today, I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I do. Once I figure out how to insert pics, I will add some. Sometimes technology can be so difficult. ;)

Thank you for reading...

There is another member of our family who never gets to go anywhere with us...his name is Apollo and he is our dog :dog: DH likes to call him Big Brother (a play on Little Brother from Mulan).

Poor Apollo has to stay home but he always has great company. We hire the neighbor kid to watch him, play with him, and on occasion, sleep at the house with him. I think he prefers that to going anywhere with us. Probably because his only car trips involve either the vet or the groomer...both of which he hates!! :headache:

Good news today, I made our reservations for the big trip. We are planning on staying at POFQ. :cheer2: I am really excited. DH and I stayed at POR a few years ago and really enjoyed it. After seeing some of the pics of the resort, I am even more excited.

I feel like it will be a lifetime before vacation ever gets here, but I am hoping this pre-trip report will help ease the pain of not going NOW. :thumbsup2

I still haven't figured out how to insert pics but that is my goal tonight, maybe tomorrow, well honestly anytime before we leave. :rotfl2:

Until next time, happy reading....

Ok, if all goes well, you will get to see what we really look like. So, grab some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show. :3dglasses popcorn::

This is the 3 of us last November on the Disney Cruise...

Our very own Big Brother...keep in mind, no animals where harmed in the taking of this photo...even though he looks petrified. :lmao:

Paige is all about the make-up, even when pretending to put it on someone else. Thank goodness DH is such a good sport. :cutie:

My TA called to say she is sending out my confirmation info and a brochure for Paige to look thru.

Now I just need to survive the next 5 1/2 months. :rotfl:

So, the planning bug has taken over. I have decided that this year I am not taking a fanny pack but a small backpack instead. I need one small enough that it won't be hot and heavy but big enough to hold a palm sized dvd camcorder, a small camera and a change of clothes for DD (in case of an accident).

After looking around, I think I have decided on the Vera Bradley backpack. I like the size of them and the high quality but balk at paying $88 for one!! :scared1: I think DH balks as well. :lmao: So, I have enlisted friends to be on the lookout for me. One is scouring ebay for me (she is the resident ebay queen and can sniff a deal a mile away :thumbsup2 ). Another has a neighbor that goes to the Vera Bradley trunk show (outlet sale) in Fort Wayne, IN every year. That isn't until the end of April/first of May so if the e-bay thing hasn't worked out for me yet, she is going to see what they have there. if the price is right then she said she would pick one up for me. I am keeping my fingers crossed and throwing out some pixie dust pixiedust: that I get that settled. I am not sure why I feel I need to accomplish this right away as I still have over 5 looong months to go but I do...crazy I know.

My next step is to complete my "lists"...packing, buying, to do, etc...it is a good thing all this self imposed stress leads to a very happy ending...Disney World. :woohoo:

Until next time...happy reading.

:thumbsup2 Great PTR!! Love the pictures, you looks so happy, DH is a great sport. I get that same look from our dog too :lmao:. POFQ is the first Disney resort I stayed at for my first Disney trip in Feb. 2006. I have been to WDW 5 times since then, do you think I am hooked :rotfl:. I can't wait to hear all about your planning.

DH and I stayed at POR back in 2002 when it was just the 2 of us going and we loved it. I am really excited about staying at POFQ...I am hoping DD will go down the slide at the pool since "King Triton" is on it. ;)

I told Rod that I wanted this trip to be a surprise for Paige and he is willing to go along. To do this, I had to break the "bad" news to Paige that we probably won't be able to make it to Disney this year. :sad1: Her only response was "but we still get to go bowling, right?" :rotfl2: That is of course, in reference to her behavior calendar.

This just may be easier than I thought. She thinks we are not going, I just need to not talk about it and we are good to go. :thumbsup2 Wait a minute, I can't just not talk about it...

It is a good thing I started this PTR, I get to talk about my trip all I want and Paige will hopefully have no clue. :goodvibes Note to self...remind other family members to NOT ask Paige about Disney!!! That could be bad... :scared1:

I have decided to take a Tai Chi class at the YMCA (we are members). Rod thinks it is pretty funny but it should help keep me focused on the prize. ;) What I really should be doing is running...I signed up late last year to run in this years Indy 500 Festival Mini Marathon. :scared1: It will be my first one ever and unfortunately it will be more of a walk than anything....but hey, I just want to finish. :rolleyes1 Maybe next year I will run it...then again this may be my first and last mini marathon. :lmao:

That is all I have for tonight. Thank you for being on this journey with me and happy reading.

Does it ever end??? :) I think I am usually planning all the way up to the point in which we check into the hotel...then there are times I am still planning for those just-in-case-something-goes-wrong moments...ugh!

My friend did find a Vera Bradley small backpack on e-bay and we (I) won. I am hoping it comes this week and it turns out to be what was discribed. If it is, then that is one thing I can check off my list.

I also saw on the codes/discounts page that it looks like Disney may actually have free dining when we go...:woohoo::yay::banana::cheer2: Now I am hoping that that is true and we can add it to our ressie...could the sun really be shining down?? Maybe I should throw some pixie dust out there, maybe it will help... pixiedust:

Until next time, happy reading.

Today was a fantastic day!!! Disney announced free dining for this fall and as a Disney Visa cardholder I got to request it today. My TA was able to add it to our ressie! :jumping1: For those of you who do not have a Disney Visa, word on the street is that it will open up to the general public on Monday...:goodvibes

Could the week be any better? So far this week I have:

watched the movie Twilight 3 tiems!! Gotta love Edward...:love:;

received my Vera Bradley backpack (the one I won on e-bay) in the mail. It was perfect. :woohoo:;

and bought the first Twilight book to re-read...I borrowed it the first time around from a friend at work now I have my own copy to read as often as I want.

I think this week will be hard to top...well, a week at Disney tops just about anything in my book. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That is all I have for tonight, happy reading...

Ok, I know it is way to early to make ADR's but Rod and I have already started throwing around places we would like to eat. Since I was able to score us free dining party: we are taking a closer look at meals.

So far the following have made our wish list:

Le Cellier - Rod and Paige both love  steak...I on the other hand prefer chicken :lmao:...but I am taking one for the team here. Maybe I will order a steak, for Paige to eat, and hopefully order chicken fingers for Paige, I mean me. :rotfl2:

Aukerhaus - Character dinner - All I needed to hear was that the Princesses are here. Good enough for me, plus it only uses 1 TS vs the 2 that Cindy's takes. :thumbsup2

Hoop-Dee-Do - We have done this one in the past (2 times) and really enjoy it. Rod wants to do it again, even if we end up paying for it vs using the plan. ;)

I think we are good with just the one character meal, unless Disney decides to bring the Phineas and Ferb group out...then we would definitely do whatever it took to go to that one. :rotfl2: We are obviously fans. :happytv:

My goal is to have the rest of it planned out by the end of May (I know that is 2 months away but it will take all of the 2 months) so when it comes time to call Disney, I have it all mapped out...it just needs to work the way I want it.

That is all for tonight...happy reading!

and Rod talked me off. I was thinking about switching our ressie from POFQ to ASSp to save some money but Rod kept his cool and said he is good with what we had and saw no reason to change!! Yeah!!! I really do love  that man...

So tomorrow is going to be a big day for Paige. We are skipping swim lessons (her first one this year she will miss) to go Easter Egg hunting at our Church. :woohoo: Paige is very excited as her cousin is spending the night with us tonight so he can go with us tomorrow. Not only will her cousin be there but a couple of boys (they happen to be brothers) will be there as well. :dance3: It should be great. Hopefully the weather will be clear so they can be outside...otherwise it might be in the gym...we'll see.

Hopefully I will take some good pics to share with you. Paige loves the camera so it shouldn't be to hard. :lmao:

That is all I have for tonight. Until next time...happy reading.

Paige had a great day yesterday. The weather was perfect for hunting eggs. It started at 9:00 in the morning so they had donughts and juice for those who wanted it. Plus the Easter bunny was there handing out candy. Once Paige realized that you got candy if you went to see him, she kept trying to go back for more. I got a pretty smart girl here. :thumbsup2

The instructions to the kids when it was time to get the eggs was "take 9 or 10 eggs so there are enough for everyone". I was good with that and would count Paige's eggs as she picked them up. Apparently she sneaked in a couple of extra ones as she had 12 eggs not 10 when we got home!! :lmao: Because of how they had the age groups divided, I was not able to keep on eye on her cousin to track his eggs...he ended up with 11 (after I gave 2 of them to one of Paige's friends)...oy!! :confused3

Once I get the pics uploaded, I will post them. I may not have time until tomorrow as I have a busy day ahead of me...I got the lawn about 3/4 of the way mowed before the rain came down...ugh! :headache: I guess I should be glad to get what I got done. ;) I still need to do my weekly grocery shopping (that I should have done yesterday), finish the laundry :laundy:, and fix dinner tonight :stir:...then hopefully I will have some time to just sit down and chill out in front of the tv. :happytv:

Only 5 months to go and I am ready for it to be here already!! :cool1:

Back in February, shortly after starting her good behavior calendar, Paige earned enough stickers to go bowling. We took her in March because Rod had knee surgery right before Valentine's Day so bowling had to be put on hold for a couple of weeks. :scared: Paige was okay with the wait as she really wanted Daddy to go with us. :cutie: Once she got there, there was no stopping the fun!!

She wasn't strong enough to pick up the lightest ball so I taught her how to do it granny style. :lmao:

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020144.jpg

She got a spare and was so excited that she skipped her way back!!

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020152.jpg

Once we got home and after her nap, she was allowed a doughnut with chocolate icing :scared1:...boy that was a mistake!!

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020153.jpg

All in all it was a great day. We took her to see a movie for her next set. I can not remember which one we saw but I am pretty sure she enjoyed it. :rotfl: We are quickly approaching her next reward so it looks like we are going bowling again...:faint:

Like I mentioned Sunday, we had a great time Easter Egg hunting...pics are in the next post.

Paige really liked the Easter Bunny...because he was giving out candy!!

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020168.jpg

And then it was time for the eggs...It is amazing how fast kids will run when there is candy involved. :lmao: I don't think any of them walked like all of the parents told them to...not that I am surprised. ;)

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020180.jpg

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020185.jpg

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020181.jpg

She had such a great time that she keeps asking when we are going to her Memaw's house to find the eggs the Easter Bunny leaves there. After all, he leaves money at her house. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

And then it was photo studio time....

So I decided to take some pics of Apollo...a few came out okay

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020165.jpg

Then the cooperation ended...

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020157.jpg

I think he was done! :lmao: So Paige and I decided to take one of the 2 of us laying on the floor...

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020162.jpg

Apparently if we were in the picture, then so was he...I am sooo not into dog saliva!! Makes you wonder why I have a dog, doesn't it. :lmao:

Until next time...happy reading.

I thought I had our places to eat decided...that was until my brother decided to offer his suggestions. We have done HDDR twice and really like it. :thumbsup2 My brother says we should do O'hana's....now I am torn. Do we do HDDR or try O'Hana's? :confused3 Or, do we do the breakfast O'Hana (not sure what it is called but it is with Lilo and Stitch) and still do HDDR? So many decisions so much time! :rotfl2: What makes it worse is that I can not even make my ADR's yet as it is still tooooo early. After all, I could change my mind another million times by June. EEK!!

Oh, and anther thing, I thinking Le Cellier is out as well...not b/c Rod doesn't want to go (the man does  a good steak) but b/c I really don't want to. Is that selfish of me? I could always tell him that I couldn't get a ressie...:lmao:

OT...sorry need to take a quick left turn...I am watching Dancing with the Stars and they are showing Shawn Johnson's training.. hilarious!!! :rotfl: I can only imagine how silly I would feel trying to be sexy with someone other than my man and I am 35...not 17!!!

Now back to your regularly scheduled show...where was I?? oh yeah...ADR's...the only place I haven't changed my mind on is Akerhaus...all because of the Princesses!!! :cheer2:

Basically I am at square 1...where to eat. I think I am going to have to troll the restaurant area some more...the problem is just when I think I have it all figured out someone says something that changes my mind...why can't everyone just say the same thing! :goodvibes I guess all this really won't matter if I can not get the ressies I want, will it? ;) Either way, we are going to have the best vacation ever!!!

Until next time...happy reading!

princesspaige
04-16-2009, 11:04 PM
I knew that I would be changing my mind about our TS meals...I was just hoping it would take longer than 3 days for it to happen!! :goodvibes

Ok, so far this is what I am thinking...

Saturday (arrival date) - Spirit of Aloha (HDDR is out, this is in)
Monday - Princess Storybook Dining at Akerhus - lunch
Tuesday - Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare
Wednesday - Le Cellier - lunch (yep, it's back :))
Thursday - Chip 'N' Dale's Harvest Feast at the Garden Grill (b/c LTT doesn't have the characters anymore...their loss ;))
Friday - Chef Mickey's Fun Time Buffet - breakfast

Now, I just need the ADR fairies to sprinkle some pixie dust on me so I get the days/times I want...maybe I need to work on a plan b just in case. :thumbsup2

We decided not to do BBB this year. We did it last year and Paige really enjoyed it but I am good with skipping it this year. We are going to do MNSSHP again. We went last year, on Halloween, and had a blast. I hope this year we have just as much fun! :dance3: I need to start thinking about what costume Paige will be wearing this year...I am pretty sure it will be a princess. Heck, she could probably wear the same Ariel one from last year. That would definitely same us some money. :thumbsup2

It looks like I still have lots of planning to do...so until next time, happy reading.

It has been a while since I last gave an update and for that I apologize. Things have been crazy around here.

Last Friday I had to have a small follow up procedure done (everything is good :thumbsup2). I had to schedule toe surgery for Paige...she has a condition called hammer (curley) toe and has to have a tendon cut on each foot. This is scheduled for July...the week we were going to visit friends we met on our Disney cruise last November. I am not looking forward to this at all. :sad1: In fact we are not telling Paige about b/c she will get upset that someone is going to cut her toes. :scared: It should be a pretty quick procedure but we will find out if it is a tendon issue or if there is an actual bone deformity on the one foot...if it is a bone deformity then there will major surgery on the toe in a couple of years...right now her bones are to small to perform that procedure. I going to give myself a little pixie dust pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: (ok, maybe alot!!) that it will just be the tendon.

I did buy us all "matching" Wall*E shirts from the Disney Store last week. They are matching in that they all say the same thing but mine is pink, Rod's is blue, and Paige's is white. I am hoping to put something on the back of them just for fun...we'll see what I come up with. If I do anything, I will be sure to post pics of them. :thumbsup2

I have been reading lots here on the Disboards about making a touring plan...I am pretty mixed on this. On one hand, it would be nice to have my days planned but on the other hand, with a 4 year old, I know that even the best plans get pushed to the side. With that in mind, I have decided to "wing" it. Other than our ts meals, daily naps, and swims nothing else is set in stone. We will probably make it to most of the parks for the EMH and leave around lunch to eat, swim, and nap. After that, we will head back to a park but this is my "take it easy don't try to do it" all trip. ;) I am just so excited to be going!!

That is all I have for today, so until next time...happy reading.

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend...it was absolutely beautiful here...sunny and in the mid 80's!! We did some work in the yard and went to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (where the Indy 500 and the Brickyard 400 are ran) for a fundraiser called the Mutt Strut. :dog: It is a fundraiser for our local Humane Society.

The only drawback, and it is a big one, is on saturday we decided to change out the thermastat in our house to a programable one. As soon as it was changed, the A/C quite working! :headache: My dad was here and he couldn't figure out what was wrong either. UGH!! We figured that we would have to call someone today to come look at it, the problem was we were not sure if it was the unit or an electrical problem. Since this all happened Saturday night, I refused to pay for an emergency visit. So, last night, during dinner, Rod decides to take one last look at the unit before deciding to call someone. He pulls out a fuse and asks me what I think...I say "it looks like it has a burn spot on it". Could that be the problem??? A simple little $0.50 item??? Our luck could not be that good.:bitelip: So after eating, we take a trip to Walmart...about the only place still open that would carry those itty bitty fuses...we get home, plug it in and guess what!?!?!? It works!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Yes, the little, itty bitty $0.50 fuse had blown and yes, we have air!! My honey totally rocks!

I have been reading the DIS like crazy today, trying to get tips and ideas to use when we go...I have gotten some really good ones. I am writing them all down otherwise I will forget them. :lmao: I just need to remember that vacations are supposed to be fun, not work...otherwise we would never take them. :thumbsup2

That is all for tonight, so until next time...happy reading.

I'm here, I'm reading, and I'm living vicariously through your WDW plans!:yay:

Glad to have you. If you are still my coupon buddy come September, you may a little something something in your envelope...:rolleyes1

I need lots of luck for this weekend...I am doing my first mini marathon...the Indianapolis 500 Festival Mini Marathon. :scared: I am not exactly running...more like walking. :lmao: I think to run it you a.) have to like running and b.) start training long before the week of the event. :rotfl2: Since the first does not apply and the second does...walking I will be. My goal is to just finish the 13.1 miles and not need to catch a ride on the "Back of the Pack" bus...yes that is the bus that picks up people that are not maintaining the required 18 minute mile. :faint: So, while all of you are enjoying a beautiful day (hopefully you will have great weather) just send me some pixie dust and a mental wish that I finish the race. I think if I get enough good vibes I will be good to go so thank you in advance.

My family will not be there as Rod is on swimming duty. Paige has lessons every Saturday morning and since I will be busy, he is taking over. It looks like I will be giving Paige a bath once I get home...that is after I have had my looong shower and use up all the hot water. :rotfl:

I will try to let you all know how I did on Saturday but if I am way to pooped, it will have to wait until Sunday...think you can hold out that long??? ;)

So...until next time, happy reading.

Yes, I survived my 13.1 mile half marathon...my first ever!! :woohoo: I know I said I would try to update by Sunday with how I did but I was soooo sore, it was awful. :sad2: I am finally feeling like I can walk and not hurt. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately there are no pics to post except for my bib and medal. But the medal is proof that I finished. :yay:

I did not want to carry the camera with me and Rod didn't stay...I really didn't think Paige would want to hang out for over 3 hours. :rotfl: Rod did ask if I was going to do it again next year...and I said "YES!!" As hard as it was and as much as I hurt afterward, I feel really good about it and feel like I accomplished something huge. My goal was twofold...first I wanted to finish it and secondly I wanted to average a 15 minute mile. Here are my split times and results... I walked the first 5 miles in 1:07:42, mile 10 mile split was 2:23:04 (I had slowed down alot between mile 8 and 10 and was seriously considering giving up :sad2:), my final time was 3:10:21. This made my average mile 14:32...I definitely accomplished both goals.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I do have an update on our vacation...I bought tickets for MNSSHP for the 11th. We did this last year on Halloween the night before our cruise and Paige had an absolute blast. I am really excited about doing it again. There are a couple of things we will differently this year. Last year we ate at Liberty Tree (it still had the character meal) and Paige visited BBB. I know we are not going to have a table service for dinner that night and probably won't do BBB either. I may buy some stuff and do her hair, make-up, and nails for her...it would be a heck of a lot cheaper that way!:thumbsup2

I am still waiting on my 90 day mark so I can make my ADR's...less than 4 weeks to go for that. :cheer2: the good news is that I have nailed down my meals and times...now I just need to make sure I get them. :lmao: Isn't that the hard part? ;)

Well that is all for tonight...as always...until next time, happy reading.

Congrats! Way to go on the half marathon!:woohoo:

Thanks! I am actually totally pain free today. :cool1: I started feeling much better Tuesday afternoon and it has just gotten better every day. :thumbsup2 In fact, I mowed the grass tonight to make sure...it won't help my allergies but at least I know that I can do it. :lmao:

The funny thing is that I have asked Rod if I can do the Disney Princess half marathon in March. He looked at me like I was crazy...the look got worse when I told him I wanted to sign up to do another half marathon in October. :rotfl2: I think I have gotten bit by the half marathon bug. ;)

This time I have a plan...it is called training. I think if I start now, I should be able to get my time down to a 13:30 mile. That would be shaving a full minute off but I figure with some (lots!!) of training it is possible. :thumbsup2

Rod and I are going back and forth over taking Paige to BBB this year. He wants to take her I think taking her to the barbershop at MK would be fine...this decision is being tabled until a later date...that way I don't loose my mind. :rotfl2:

To all my fellow mothers (including those whose children are of a non-human species) Happy Mother's Day!! :flower3: I hope it brings you lots of joy and happiness.

So, until next time...happy reading!

Oh yeah, one more thing...my countdown no longer shows 4 months!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Just wanted to give a quick update...I ordered our MNSSHP tickets a week ago and guess what was in the mail today....that's right our party tickets!!!:banana::banana::banana: Can you say EXCITED??? :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Really that is all I wanted to share, sad I know but every little thing counts. :thumbsup2

Please feel free to share anything you think I could use on our trip...if you have any special requests, like asking me to ride a certain ride for you...just ask, I am game...well with one major exception. I do not, repeat, DO NOT ride the teacups... that would not make for a very fun vacation. :scared:

Until next time, happy reading.

Sorry about the lack of updates...work has been crazy and when I do get a chance to sign on to the Dis it is usually for some quick reading and a quick post here and there...unfortunately my updating has suffered.:sad2:

I finally got Paige to go to sleep around 10:00 tonight. We are "camping" in the living room...meaning I inflated the queen size air matress...I don't sleep on floors. :rotfl2: We were going to sleep in the tent out back (using previously mentioned air mattress) but since Rod went to the movie we decided to stay inside. I am to much of a chicken to sleep in the tent if he isn't home, plus what am I going to do out there in the dark with him gone and Paige asleep??? So, we are camping inside tonight. :thumbsup2 Plus if we stay inside, I can give an update while watching the replay of the Indy 500. I am not a huge fan but thought I would give it a whirl. (Since I live in Indy I don't get to watch it live, so I find out who wins and then watch parts of it later that evening.)

I actually have a HUGE update for everone. I e-mailed my TA on Thursday and asked her to go ahead and pay off our vacation. We have the money and decided that it didn't matter if we paid it off now or 45 days from now. :thumbsup2

Two weeks from today I get to make my ADR's. I am so excited. My trip is coming together and I can barely contain myself.:banana::banana: It is getting harder to keep it from Paige but she is still in the dark...thank goodness. :goodvibes I am slowing picking up things we will need a little at a time. I am going to order a "dog" tag, think from PetSmart, for Paige. I have this huge fear that she will wonder off and get lost. She did this to us at Meijer and we found her but it TERRIFIES :scared1: me that it will happen there. So I am going to make one of these with her name and my and Rod's cell phone numbers on it just in case she does get lost. That way if someone finds her they can call us. I am going to show her it before we go and tell her that if we ever get seperated, even if at the grocery store, to find someone with a name tag on and ask them to call her mommy or daddy. Hopefully we won't have to use it but better safe than sorry.

I think that is all I have for updates, so until next time, happy reading.

So, today started out really good, Paige slept until 7:00 am :banana: (this is considered sleeping in late in our house :rotfl2:). She went to swim class, the last one until this fall, and did an amazing job. I was so proud of her.

She did so well that we took her to see the new Disney cartoon "UP". It was really cute but that is when our day started to take a down turn. I noticed that Paige was coughing...alot. Which shouldn't be a big deal. The problem is that a little boy at daycare was out all last week with a cough and a fever and a little girl had the cough the week before. I kept checking Paige's temperature all afternoon and evening. At last check, about 60 minutes ago, she has a low grade temp, just over 100. :faint: I am hoping the fever breaks tomorrow...I hate it when she is sick. I usually feel so helpless. :sad2:

To top the day off, the storms that were predicted for today are finally making an appearance. I just hope Paige believes my explanation for thunder and lightening. I told her that thunder was God, Jesus, and all the angels bowling and lightening is when they get a strike. :thumbsup2 I think my mom told me that as a child. :)

The other day I started looking at menus for the different ts restaraunts Disney has to offer. I should never have done that as I now think I am going to change some of my ADR's I was thinking about. :headache: I made 2 lists...one that are my must do's and one that are optional. I figured I better have a back up plan in case the one's I am leaning towards are not available. So here are what are on my lists:

Must do: Le Cellier (for Rod and Paige as I do not eat steak)
Supercalifragilistic bf at Grand Floridian (for Paige...well me too ;))
Princess Lunch at Akerhus (mainly for Paige, hoping Ariel will be there)
Spirit of Aloha

Optionals: Chef Mickey, Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Happily Ever After at the GF, Biergarten, and 50's Prime Time Cafe.

We will probably end up with all character meals (except for Le Cellier) only because Paige will enjoy it more. I am really leaning towards dinner with Cinderella only because Lady Tremain and the stepsisters will be there. I guess it all depends on what is available when I call...next Sunday. I can not believe it is almost here!!! :dance3: I wish that the online reservation system for ADR's was open to the general public...I think that would make it a bit easier but either way, 7:00 Sunday morning can not get here fast enough.

Hopefully this week I will get the pics from Paige's last Ballet class posted. She was so cute, as were all the little girls. We have discovered that Paige loves :lovestruc the camera. It was actually pretty funny watching her.

Well, that is all I have for tonight, so until next time, happy reading.

Hi, I'm reading! We're also from Indy (well, Greenwood) and we'll be there the same time as you (9/7-9/14). I can't wait to keep reading your plans. My DH ran the mini a few years ago, and I have been thinking of walking next year. I don't run. Well, maybe if a bear was chasing me, but definitely not for fun!

We are southsiders as well. When we first moved to Indy we lived in an apartment in Greenwood. Looks like we are neighbors of sort. :thumbsup2

I didn't run the mini by any means...I did walk it pretty fast in the beginning but finished pretty slow. I am definitely going to do it again b/c although I hurt when I was done, I also felt really good that I had accomplished something I wanted to do.

I just have to tell eveyone that I am sooo excited about Sunday. I have revamped my ts meals...AGAIN!!! I think Biergarten is out as a choice but Cape May Clam Bake dinner thing is in. Rod really loves seafood so again, I may take one for the team. I liked what was on the kids menu and the desserts sounded really good.:rotfl2: I will make sure that I update Sunday with my ADR's. I was hoping that I could make them on-line but I don't think that is up and running for us guests yet, only TA's at this point...bummer.

I still haven't uploaded Paige's ballet pics but will try to do that this weekend so I can post some on Sunday. I am going to let you all know now that she loves the camera so don't expect alot of serious pics. I think she gets that from her dad...:rolleyes1

I think we are finally decided on CMC as well. It sounds good and seems to get pretty good reviews on here. I do like seafood, but not mussels and clams-yuck! I'm hoping they still have crab legs in September. I love those and could eat a ton! I hear you on just wanting to make the ADRs and be done. Especially now with all the hoopla on the restaurant board about whether there's a bias built into the computer system, it is just totally freaking me out. I want to be done, and move on to the fun stuff like what we're doing at each park and making t-shirts!

how obsessed we have become over making ADR's?? :rotfl: Rod could pretty much care less where we eat as long as we get Le Cellier...but what about Paige and I??? ;) For us it is all about the characters....the princesses, mickey and the gang, and everyone else. :thumbsup2

We are less than 18 hours away from dial in time...I am going to have to make up my mind in the next couple of hours because we will be at Victory Field tonight for the celebrity softball game to benefit the make a wish foundation. Definitely taking my camera for all those "celebrity" sightings. ;)

I know, I think I will be a much calmer, happier person once ADRs are done. And the worst part is that I am the only one in our group who has done any research or planning, so no one care what we get besides me!

Have fun at the game! We haven't been to an Indians game yet, but I hear the park is really nice. I think we might try to go later this summer. I'm dying to see who the "celebrities" are-Indy has a sad definition of that word!!

I was wondering if I would even know any of the celebrities when Rod told me we were going. I had the same thought you did. LOL! I think most of the Colts players were there including Payton, Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeny, Reggie Wayne and Robert Matthis. Carlos Diaz was there but I think he does alot in Indy. OK, I did not make it up in time to call at 7:00 this morning. I actually did not call until around 8:00 and I thought "oh no, I am going to be on hold for an hour like other people have been!" :faint: Plus, I am still trying to keep this a secret from Paige so I have to be very secretive about what I am doing. ;) The good news is twofold. I was only on hold for 6 minutes (I had cinnamon rolls in the oven so I checked the timer when I called and when they answered :goodvibes). Secondly, I was able to get all the ADR's that I wanted. :yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo::dance3::banana::banana: Can you tell I am excited???

Anyway, here is what I booked...

9/5 (Arrival date) Spirit of Aloha ~ 5:15 show
9/6 Lunch at Le Cellier (Rod is going to be sooo excited)
9/7 Lunch at Akerhus w/the Princesses (hoping Ariel will be there but still excited)
9/8 breakfast at 1900 Park Fare - usually has Alice and some others
9/9 dinner at 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella's Happilly Ever Ater)
9/10 Dinner at Cape May Cafe (the clam bake)

Also, since we booked thru AAA, I was able to book their Disney Story Time experience. We have never done this so I am really excited. We do this on Monday (Labor Day) at 4:30. It is done at the Town Square Exhibition Hall at the Magic Kingdom.

We have already bought our Halloween party tickets for Friday the 11th so that will be the last big thing we do. I am so excited because all my plans are falling into place. :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Also, my countdown says less than 3 months...can I get a woot!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Grrrrr!!!!!! :headache: :furious:

I thought I was good to go with my ADR's. Told Rod all about them and how I made sure that there were 2 he would really enjoy. Mind you, I covered this with the man prior to making any of our ressie's. Guess what happened...he changed his mind. I thought that was only a woman's perrogative. :confused3 :lmao: He has decided he really does not want to eat at Cape May. What?!?!?! The seafood lover in the family is forsaking a chance to eat seafood? Where is my husband and what have you done to him? :rotfl2: Seriously, he tells me tonight he really doesn't want to go and to find something else instead. Since he is "requesting" the change, I am going to make him suffer thru a second character breakfast....hee hee hee, I feel so evil right now and I LIKE it. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So tomorrow morning, I am going to call and see about switching Cape May for breakfast at Crystal Palace. If that is a no go, I will try Chef Mickey, if that is a no go, then maybe Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom. This will be the last change to ADR's I make. Only because I am happy with everything else. In all honesty, Cape May was the only meal I was not looking forward to. Neither Paige nor I enjoy seafood so we both would have been eating off the children's menu. :rolleyes1

Until next time, happy reading.

One last thing, the Pitts Penguins have just under 5 more minutes to hang on to their lead. Go Pittsburgh...this will be the only time you will hear me say that. ;)

That would be SOOO frustrating, and totally something my DH would do as well. Good luck getting one of the other meals you want-they all sound good, and we're eating all 3 places, but CP and CM are for dinner. We are doing the Clambake, and I'm a little nervous. It's the one I'm the least excited about, but my mom and DH both wanted it, so it's on there. My MIL hates seafood, but she offered no opinions on anything, even when asked directly, so she gets what she gets. There's supposed to be ribs, pasta, chicken, etc. too, I think. Let us know how your switch goes!

Good news. I called Disney as soon as I got to work this morning and was able to get right thru to a CM.:banana::banana: The better news is that I was able to get breakfast at Crystal Palace. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I am hoping that the fact I have been able to get all the ADR's I want and not be on hold forever means it won't be very busy. One can always wish, right?:confused3:confused3

On a not Disney related note, my younger brother got engaged over the weekend!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: He is in the Air Force and is currently stationed in England. He met a very nice girl and he seems really happy. He is 31 and finally met a girl he wants to marry. I am so happy for him. :yay::yay:

Hello! I am jumping over from the September Plans board because I saw your link. You had posted in response to use having the same arrival time but we are actually going to be on the :yay: SAME FLIGHT :yay: as you all! (If I actually ever book my tickets that is!) Predicting that prices will be going back down on Monday and will buy then. Have you chosen your seats yet?

I read through your trip report and I am very amazed as it sounds like we are a lot alike! We will be staying in All Star Movies though. It is the first trip to WDW for my hubby and my son so I want to REALLY do it up for them. I thought that the ASMO would be cute because of the themeing.

Predicting that prices will be going back down on Monday and will buy then.

:welcome: I am glad you came over! I am surprised at how much the cost of the flight has been jumping lately! I did go ahead and select our seats only b/c I was afraid Paige would end up by herself! :scared1:

We have stayed at all 3 All Stars. (Paige has been to 1 of them but I doubt she remembers it as she was only 2 at the time). I think you guys will enjoy the All Stars, I know we did. :thumbsup2

I thought this time we would try POFQ. I like the thought of a slide at the pool. Now that Paige has been in swim lessons for over a year, I am hoping she will go down it...if not, I will at least enjoy it. :lmao:

How old is your little one? Paige is a very "spirited" 4 year old...at least that is what my sitter tells me...I usually just say she is crazy!! :rotfl2:

Sit back, enjoy, and don't hesitate to jump in on the fun. ;)

I'm totally on board! It will be fun watching your pretrip report while planning my own, especially knowing that we are going at the same time. Eventually, I'll get around to writing my own pretrip report.

It will be me, dh, and ds, Max. He is 7. Very first time to Disney for both of them. Actually, if you want to be very technical, Max went to Epcot as a fetus, but I don't think he remembers anything.

I'm sure you will notice us on the plane we tend to stand out in a crowd. Let's just say my husband is, um, loud. He doesn't know the meaning of "keep your voice down". He has never flown on an airplane before so I expect him to be pumped up as a little kid, he has already "called" the window seat. He'll be dancing in the aisle because he's going to disney. Yes, I am still describing my hubby, not my son yet! DS will be the one telling stories. He can talk a mile a minute and won't ever stop. He talks to everyone we come in contact with and tells them everything that had ever happened to him in his life. So he will be talking the flight attendants ear off I'm sure, plus tellling her all about his brand new suitcase and going to disney. In the mean time of all of this, I will be the one sloughing down in the seat, covering my eyes in embarrassment at the happenings around me, popping tylenol pm - hoping to sleep the whole flight. I'm sure your won't have a problem at all finding us!! :rolleyes2:

I'm sure after a few times of going down the slide with mom, Paige will be flying down on her own in no time!

I will keep an eye out for you. We will be the family that keeps saying "Paige no running" Paige, don't put your feet on the back of the seat." "Paige no standing up in the seat." Meanwhile from Paige you will hear "I want...." over and over and over again. ugh! But we love her so we think we will keep her. :thumbsup2

We bought some waterbottles to take with us. I am not a big soda drinker but love the little crystal light drink mixes. I figure instead of buying tons of bottled water, I would save some money by bring the water bottles and filling up with fountain water then adding the drink mix. Paige thinks it is kool aid so she likes it as well...not to mention that it is sugar free so healthy as well. :thumbsup2 They are spill proof so I am not worried about them leaking in the backpack. I may try them out this summer just to make sure. If I think about it, I will take a picture of them for everyone to see.

Until next time, happy reading!

Now that my ADR's are made and NOT changing, what do I do next? I feel like there is nothing left to do but wait...and I am not good at waiting. :lmao: We have just over 80 days to go and it feels more like 365. :faint: I have already started my packing list...that did not take to long to do...and I have made a list of things I need to buy before we leave. Now I am not sure what is left.

Since we are still keeping this a secret from Paige I am taking the day before we fly out off from work to pack while Paige is at daycare. I figured this was better than staying up until midnight or later trying to get all packed. Only to get up at 5:00 am to get to the airport in time for our flight.

Until next time, happy reading.

I am sorry for not posting any updates...work has been really hectic the last couple of weeks but should be slowing down...hopefully :confused3

Last week Paige started a 4 week soccer clinic. I did not want to just put her in a "league" until I knew she liked it. The good news is she likes it...the bad (not really all that bad) news is her favorite part is hitting the ball with her head!! :scared1: My child is fearless! She told me that she wants to play with the big kids now. So it looks like in the fall we will sign her up for a league. I am glad she likes it as I grew up playing the game. It is definitely a good way to burn some energy. :thumbsup2

I am happy to report that we have had no changes to our ADR's as I refuse to even think about changing them. :lmao: Rod has already been told there will be no changes and he is "stuck" with what we have. ;)

Until next time, happy reading.

I have to ask, is her soccer clinic at the Y? I know you said you were southsiders-we're doing t-ball at the Baxter Y, and we're at the pool a few times a week. I just wondered if maybe I'd passed you there and didn't even know it!

princesspaige

yes, she is doing the clinic at the Baxter Y. We were there for a couple of hours swimming last saturday. We will not be going this weekend as she has had a difficult behavior week. :sad2: I am hoping when she realizes that, it will all click in her head and we will see an improvement.

So, I had an interesting week.

Well, it started Friday when I woke up and noticed that it took alot of work to take a deep breath. Figured it was just the weather as it had been hot and humid. Darn Indiana weather! ;) Things never got any better, in fact I seemed to get worse....the only time I really felt like I could breath was at night while wearing my C-PAP (I have sleep apnea). Finally I call the doctor as breathing is a pretty important part of living. :lmao: I had my appointment today and was told I have mild asthma due to my allergies and need to have a chest x-ray done just to make sure I do not have a mild case of pneumonia as well. He gave me some meds (an inhaler and a steriod something or another that I do once a day) and sent me on my merry way...well I have to go back in 2 weeks for a follow up. The best part of today is Rod took me to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory! :cloud9: He even "let" me get some cheesecake to go...boy do I  that man!

The good part of my week was that I got a friend request on facebook from a friend I haven't talked to in about 4 years. The best part was the day I saw the request I had been talking about him at work. It was like he knew I was thinking about him. He lives in Florida so I am hoping we can get together while at Disney. He knew I was pregnant but has never met our daughter. I am really excited about introducing him to Paige.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable 4th of July....

Until next time, happy reading.

The doctor's office called yesterday to let me know my chest x-rays were clear...no pneumonia for me!!!:banana::banana: I am so excited...now if I could just get rid of the asthma I would be good to go. :lmao: I feel horrible not being able to breathe that well and I only have "mild" asthma, I would hate to have "normal" asthma let alone severe asthma! :scared:

By the way, did you notice my countdown??? Less than 2 months to go. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

It is Paige's bedtime so until next time, happy reading.

Oh yuck, asthma! I feel your pain, really. My YDS was just diagnosed on June 1st. We do an inhaler through an Aerochamber (4 puffs twice a day). Seeing as he's not quite two yet and has no understanding of what we're doing or why, it's been a difficult process. I hope you're feeling better!

And woo hoo for less than 2 months!!! We're right there with ya!

princesspaige
07-12-2009, 10:23 PM
I have a couple of meds that I am on now because of the asthma. I do a once daily thing...like Advair but different....and an inhaler that I do 2 puffs up to 4 times a day. My first day back to work I used it 4 times but yesterday I only used it once! :cheer2: I have not used it yet today and I am hoping I won't need to. I do notice that as the day goes on it does become more difficult (laborous) to breathe. I am worried about going to Disney in September with all the humidity. I go back to my doctor on Thursday and am going to ask him if the humidity will make it worse. :scared:

So, here is some new, potentially vacation changing, news. I jokingly (well sorta) asked my dad if he wanted to go with us as a babysitter. He said sure he would go....he would go where ever Paige went. :scared: WOW! I was surprised he said he would go so quickly. I told him I would need to talk it over with Rod to see if we could swing it and I would get back with him.

So I did a little math when I got home. The room difference would be about $415, a little more if we got a cot for Paige to sleep on (don't think my dad wants to share his bed with her :lmao:). But the shocker was that his flight would cost us $250 round trip:scared1:...that would get him our flight. If Rod and I think we can swing the difference, I may have to look at flying him down on a different flight although I would rather have him with us the whole way. I guess if he flew a different airline and got in around the same time and flew out around the same time, it would not be that bad. I would also need to buy him a ticket for MNSSHP as I would not want him to go back to the room while we had all the fun.

Rod and I will need to really look at things this week and try to figure out what we want to do. I am going back and forth on this one...like the idea of just the 3 of us going but it would be nice to have someone sit with Paige so I did not have to ride any rides alone...I will let you all know once we have made a decision...boy winning the big lottery would help out a lot here. :thumbsup2

Well, until next time, happy reading.

:wave2: HI! Just checking in to let you all know that I am still here. :thumbsup2

We have had a pretty busy week already and it is only Wednesday. :faint: We stared the week with a quick trip to Holiday World. We left Sunday morning and returned Monday evening. Paige had an absolute blast! :goodvibes We spent most of Sunday doing rides...wanted to make sure she was still excited about going on them and wanted to see how she would do with all the walking and waiting in lines. I must say she did really well. :thumbsup2 On Monday we spent a few hours at their water park. This was the big test as Paige has never wanted to go on a water slide...ever! The first one we did I was able to go down with her. It was one of the ones you ride down on a tube. They have tadem tubes just so you can double up. She was good up to the point of getting on the tube...then she started getting ansy (sp?) and upset. As we pushed off I kept telling her "it is just like a roller coaster...isn't this fun???" Pretty quickly she started laughing. As soon as we got off she said "I wanna go again!":banana: I was sooo happy to hear that. :thumbsup2 Holiday World was a huge sucess.

Then yesterday Paige had her toe surgery. She has one toe on each foot that is curly. The doctor wasn't sure if it was a tendon issue or a bone deformity. We decided to go ahead with cutting the tendons this year. I was pretty nervous yesterday morning but my baby did great. :goodvibes I was so proud of her. I am amazed at how quickly kids bounce back. They wanted her to stay off her feet until tomorrow morning...that didn't happen. The child was walking this afternoon and stomping her feet. :scared1: All I could think was "Man, that has to hurt!" but she never complained. We took off her original dressings and put regular bandaids on...that made a huge difference in her walking. The doctor thinks it is a tendon issue. In fact he made a remark that when he cut the tendon the toe popped up. When I changed her dressings and put the bandaid on her, I could see a huge difference in her toes. It is absolutely amazing!

That is all I have for tonight, so until next time, happy reading.

My TA called yesterday to let me know that our "tickets" for our September trip were in and that I could stop by whenever to pick them up. She knows this is a surprise trip for Paige so she was using code words. :lmao: Today was the only day I could pick them up on my lunch hour (no way I was going to stop by when I had Paige!) and of course today is the day that it stormed! :headache: I am not talking just rain, I am talking roads flooding, high winds, some hail...all in all a yucky day. But that is okay because I picked up my ME stuff and the booklet from AAA that has our coupons and vouchers in it. I will suffer thru anything to pick that up....well just about anything. :rotfl2:

Unfortunately, with the storm came a migraine...happens everytime. So it is going to be an early night in bed with a cold, wet rag on my forehead. Ahhh, I can feel the relief just thinking about it. :thumbsup2

Paige went back to her surgeon last week to get her stitches out and we got some not so promising news. The doctor took one look at her toes while she was standing and said that she may have a bone deformity after all...WHAT?!!?! :scared1: We go back for another check up right before vacation but I have a feeling we will be going every year. I am hoping and praying she will not need the additional surgery as I know it will be very painful. My mom had the surgery a few years ago and she said it was extremely painful and my mom has the highest pain tolerance level of anyone I know. When we got home that night, I just wanted to sit in bed and cry because I don't want her to have to go thru that. I would take her place if I could. :(

Anyway, to end on a happy note, I am only 32 days out!:banana::banana::banana: So until next time, happy reading.

Hi, just checking in! Glad to hear Paige's surgery went well, but bummer that it may be a bone thing after all! I'm so excited for you that your trip stuff is ready...not just for you, but because that means our must be coming soon, lol!!

How is the planning going? Anything left to buy or do? My big obsession right now is making shirts. I have all the designs ready, I'm just trying to hammer out getting shirts small enough for my little guy.

And, man that rain was awful today, wasn't it? We went to the Children's Museum this morning and it was terrifying driving there and home. Then every road around our subdivision was flooded. I ended up driving through a questionable amount of water because I had no other option to get home. It sucked!

My planning has gone as far as making a packing list, ADR's, and BBB appt, beyond that I have nothing. :scared1: I am taking that attitude this trip that if we miss some things I am just going to have to live with it, or convince Rod we need to do another trip. :thumbsup2

Some of you may remember that I walked (I don't run :lmao:) the Indianapolis 500 festival mini marathon in May and afterwards talked about doing another half marathon this fall. Well, I did it, I signed up for the Ft. Harrison half marathon. :scared1: It is in October, the 16th I think - whatever that Saturday is. This time I am going to train prior to the event....that means lots of walking in the evenings once Rod gets home from work. I am hoping that if I can get a few under my belt, Rod will be more willing to agree to my doing the Princess half marathon....one can hope. ;)

Hi just joining in. Love your report. I too am a non-loving runner, but for some reason I keep doing it anyway. I have done 3 5k's so far beginning last oct. I am thinking of doing the 1/2 marathon in our area next april but am still unsure. I too hate running never liked it and probably never will. The part I love is being done and knowing you accompished something on your own. Once you have kids you dont get much done on your own anymore (as I am sure you would agree) so I guess thats what keeps me running. I too am the crunch time trainer. I usually will start running/walking everyday about 1-2 weeks before the race. My best time so far was 35 minutes. I am signed up to do a womens only 5k in october and my goal is 32 minutes. I guess I should start running soon. Well I will be following your updates. We go 9-20 to 9-26 and I cant wait. We are also doing MNSSHP. Any tips would be appreciated.

Good for you on the half marathon. Hmmm....another excuse to push for a Disney trip...Princess half marathon...maybe I need to start doing half marathons too! I used to be a runner back in the day (oy, college was a long time ago, and that's the last time I ran seriously) but now am more of a walker. I walk 2 miles a day most of the year (winter in New England is freezing, and I prefer to walk outside as opposed to a treadmill or something like that), but I've never really thought about running again.

I haven't done a 5k in years...I think I walked one as part of a fundraiser but other than that nothing. I think you can do it in 32 minutes, just keeping thinking positive thoughts. :)

This will be our 2nd halloween party, we did the first one last year on halloween and had fun. This year we plan to enjoy some of the other fun things and not so much the rides. I am going to try to get more pictures with the characters this year. One thing I would definitely not miss is the parade. Before it starts the headless horseman rides down the route....that was really cool! If I think of any more, I will let you know.

Sorry for the long time between updates. Things have been a bit crazy around here. I feel like all I have done the past couple of weeks (and extending into next week) is go to the doctor. :headache: Went back to have my asthma checked out...yep it is still there. Still on Asthmanex every day and albuterol as needed. Boy will I be glad when the weather turns cool for good and my allergies quick causing me problems. ;)

So this past Friday I go see an oral surgeon about a fibroma in my mouth. I did not think it was all that big but my dentist noticed that it has gotten bigger so he suggested I get it removed. Here comes the good part...I show the nurse and she says (and I quote) "Oh my that is huge. It has its own zip code." What?!?!?! Then in comes the surgeon and he says (and I quote yet again :rotfl2:) "Wow, that is huge! It has its own address." In my head I am thinking "Wow it got smaller...it went from having its own zip code to just an address." :lmao: He tells me that he can take it out that day...so, being the smart intelligent woman that I am , I agree. So now I have 3...make that 2 as 1 came out today...stitches on the inside of my cheek. At least it will be all healed by the time we go to Disney. :thumbsup2

I have been a pretty busy girl in the getting-ready-for-our-trip department as well. I went to Meijer on Sunday and found a Hannah Montana pix-click (kids digital camera). It was originally $50 and I got it for $15!!! :woohoo::woohoo: I am going to check it out tonight and if it works, we are going to give it to Paige to use while on vacation. She will absolutely love  it! Talk about being a big girl. :thumbsup2 My big project I have put on myself is making Paige's autograph book instead of buying one. I saw one done by mouse skywalker (I think that is his screen name) and thought it was really cute. So now I am doing my first, and last, project for this trip. ;)

That is all I have for tonight, I need to get back to work on the autograph book and try out the camera before I go to bed. Until next time, happy reading.

I am sooo not crafty enough to make my own autograph book. By the time we get back to WDW my girls will be too old for autographs I suppose...they're 12 and 10 now. I did not think I was crafty enough either but it looked pretty easy and so far it has been. The hardest part has been trying to determine with characters I think she will see and which ones she won't. I think I am going to make a few "mousellaneous" :lmao: pages for those that she sees but don't have their own page.

I am hoping that she never hits the "you are such an uncool mom" stage...but alas that is just wishful thinking. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I bought some disposable ponchas this afternoon at Walmart to take with us. I only paid $0.44 for each of them so if I toss them after 1 use no big deal. One of the few things left on my to buy list are snacks. I think I am going to pick up some granola bars and fruit snacks. I figured with our luck we would be in line for a ride and Paige will be oh so hungry. With snacks in the backpack I will be the best mommy ever!! :woohoo::woohoo: At least that is the plan. :)

Yep, I am not excited at all! :lmao: Just think 2 days from now I will be back here on the computer checking in....:scared1: I can hardly believe that I am this close and Paige still doesn't have a clue we are going. Now she did have a dream about a month ago in which she dreamt about being on a "hairplane". When Rod asked her where she was going she said "Disney World Daddy!" Either my daughter is psychic or she really wants to go. :lmao: I am hoping it is the latter but if she is psychic, she better start telling me the winning lottery numbers. :rotfl:

Ok, now for what you have all been waiting for...drum roll please....I now present to you Paige's autograph book...

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020382.jpg
Sorry about it being sideways, I couldn't figure out how to rotate it.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020383.jpg
There are about 48 of these pages (with characters on them). I tried to guess at what characters we were most likely to see and made pages for them. Some (like the Cinderella's stepsisters and Lady Tremain) share a page but most of them have their own.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww74/mmcphearson/P1020385.jpg
Then there are 12 pages (total of 24 sides) that look like this. I know that we will see characters that don't have their own page so I added some blank ones for her.

I did get this idea from Mouse Skywalker. I just checked his blog (was going to try to add his link here) so you could see my inspiration but his pictures are not showing. Even though I used his idea, his books are waaaaay better than mine. I just hope Paige likes it. :goodvibes

That is all for tonight, until next time, happy reading.

I am officially doing the single digit dance...and it looks amazingly like the "white girls can't dance" dance. :lmao: I woke up this morning and my first thought was "I will be in Disney World in 9 days!!":banana::banana:

I was able to check in on-line yesterday. I was so excited about doing that. It makes everything so real! I am not sure why I was so gung ho on checking in on-line, we will probably get to the hotel around 10:00 am, not really sure that the check in area will be all that busy. :confused3 But hey, I am one step closer to my happy place. :thumbsup2

I was reading another thread where people were talking about how busy it is down there lately. :scared1: I sure hope all those people will be leaving soon so I have some quiet time at the parks. :lmao:

I have a mission to complete while on vacation. A friend of mine likes Aladdin so I told him I would try to find something to bring back to him that involved Aladdin. Then it came to me...I am going to have my picture taken with him (it has to be just me and Aladdin) then I am going to buy a frame to put it in so my friend can put it on his desk at work. :goodvibes That is the kind of friend I am. ;)

That is all for tonight, so until next time, happy reading.

at this exact time, I will be on an airplane going to Disney World!!! :woohoo::woohoo::banana::banana::yay::yay::dance3: :dance3:

Now, I just need to get my rear end in gear and get everything ready. It is a good thing I am taking next Friday off to pack, otherwise nothing would get done and I would be up packing and not get any sleep. :faint:

That is all I have for now, until next time, happy reading.

5 DAYS!!!

So, are you a person that packs everything just in case you need it, or do you pack more conservatively? Last time we went to WDW I took everything but the kitchen sink, and used only 2/3 of it.

Enjoy your packing and hope you get some sleep too!!

It is so close I can almost taste it. :goodvibes I used to over pack to the extreme! It was crazy. Now not so much. Since Paige still needs her naps and Rod likes midday snooze as well, I will pack for about 4 days and do laundry at the hotel. This year I discovered those Purex 3 in 1 sheets. I tried some out here first and they do a good job. Since it contains the detergent, fabric softner, and dryer sheet all in 1 sheet, it takes up less room.

We had a big scare this weekend. On Saturday, Paige was playing on her swing set. We have one of those wood ones that has a fort with a slide on one side and swings on the other. Well, Saturday evening we were outside. I was trying to build a fire in our fire pit and Paige was playing on her slide. All of a sudden, I heard a noise but assumed it came from one of the neighbor kids. Suddenly Paige starts crying and coming towards me from the back side of the swing set. She had fallen from the window on the tall part of the fort! :scared1: I almost had a heart attack when she told me what happened. :faint: Thankfully she was fine, in fact she did not have 1 single bump, bruise, or cut. God was definitely there to catch her! :) Of course, once I calmed down, I thought to myself "good thing she did not break a bone, it would be terrible to go to Disney with a broken leg or arm..." of course I eventually got to that point! :rotfl2:

One last thing before I sign off for the night, I am shocked that I haven't yet spilled the beans! It must be because I can talk about it here until my heart is content. :thumbsup2

Until next time (if I make another one prior to leaving), happy reading.

I love the Purex 3 in 1 sheets...it means my daughter can do laundry as one of her chores...she's 10 and short like me, so she can't reach the place in the washer to put the liquid detergent.

Glad Paige is okay...isn't it funny- if one of us adults took that kind of a spill we'd be in the hospital. Kids just need a good looking over, a hug, and then they go their merry way.

Rod and I said the same thing...we would have broken every bone in our body and she on the other hand doesn't even have a mark. Crazy!!

Now for some not so happy news...Paige and I have colds. :headache: We realized Monday that Paige was not feeling up to par but by yesterday is was apparent that she had a cold and I caught it from her. Horrible Indiana weather...at least that is what I am blaming it on. ;)

I started packing some things last night, the stuff that goes into our 1 checked bag. Stuff like our shampoo, conditioner, the bottled water for my cpap, things we can't carry on the plane. I am glad I started that last night because I realized that I still need to buy our soap! That could have been a problem. :scared1: I also need more zyrtec for my allergies and now that we have colds I need to buy some of the travel size packs of kleenex's. I just hope that we are feeling better by saturday otherwise Mickey and friends might be sick by the time we leave. Then the world will hate us.

glad to hear paige was unhurt. Its funny how every moment we somehow connect to disney. :lmao: Stinks about the colds. That seems to be the thing right now. I have talked with other disers and they have the same troubles and a bunch of people at my work have colds. I however have put myself in a bubble so I should be ok. Just kidding.:rotfl2:

Well you must be so excited for your trip is only 2 days away. I remember from your earlier posts that you are taking off tomorrow to pack right? Well good luck with packing and with your trip. I will wish for a speedy recovery from the colds for you.:wizard:

I forgot to let you know about the big suprise Rod sprung on me Tuesday night. He came home from work and told me he had "decided" that we were going to go see La Nouba (the Cirque De Soleil show). What??? :scared1: Does the man not know how much those tickets cost? If he didn't then, he does now as I told him that they were expensive. :thumbsup2 It obviously did not matter as he bought them anyway. Now I am not sure if I should be upset that he spent that much money or happy that he actually participated in the plan. :confused3 I think I am going to go with happy. :cutie:

I took Paige to see one of their shows in February with my parents when they came to Indy and she absolutely LOVED it! :lovestruc So I know she will enjoy this one. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

I took tomorrow off from work so I can do laundry, clean the house up, and pack. I also need to head to the post office and Walmart to pick up those last minute things. But I have gotten some things taken care of already...

I have the neighbor boy set up to watch our dog for the week, get our mail, and keep an eye on the house. I told him we would pay him $100 and he said that he understood if we needed to pay him less than that especially with the economy the way it is. Now he is 17 years old and I was shocked that he was that aware of the economy. I mean aren't teenagers supposed to be so wrapped up in themselves that they can't see anything else? :lmao: He really is a good kid, plus I thought I was getting off cheap with only paying him $100...afterall, he is walking across the street a couple of times a day to feed Apollo, let him out, and play with him plus everything else.

I have the neighbors next to the 17 year old taking us to the airport. Lucky for us, one of them works first shift and can take us on her way to work. They are also going to help with our dog when the 17 y/o is in school. Plus they both work for the police department so will keep a good eye on our house. I am so lucky to have such great neighbors! :goodvibes

In less than 36 hours we will be on a plane heading to Disney!:banana: I can hardly believe that after months and months of planning that it is this close.

Until next time, happy reading.

Not sure if there is a big plan...we are going to wake her up in the morning (at 4:50am!!) and tell her she needs to get up so we can get on an airplane. Then once we land in Orlando, I am going to tell her that her "fun day" (for being good this week) isn't going bowling but rather Disney World. I sure hope she is ok with not going bowling...you never know with my child how she will react. :lmao: My luck, she will say "but you sad we could go bowling!!" Ugh!

Well, I need to get busy...I have mowed the grass, gone to Walmart and the post office, now I just need to take a shower, do the laundry, and pack....all before I pick up Paige this afternoon.:faint:

Thank you everyone for reading and following along....so until we return, happy reading.:)

:lmao: That is funny....I have never been stalked before.

The trip was AWESOME!! Paige had so much fun. She made a new friend, in fact her mom and I traded addresses so the girls could write to each other. :cloud9: I was able to meet up with my friend I haven't seen in over 4 years. It was great. We hung out at the MK for part of Thursday and he even rode Goofy's Barnstormer (the kid's roller coaster) with us. Now he is about 6'1" but got on it anyway. It was really cute. :goodvibes I will try to get some pictures up soon. It may take awhile as I am still unpacking and doing laundry. :headache: That is the worst part of vacation for me...;)

I always feel like I need a vacation from my vacation once the unpacking, laundry and general catching up are done! Very cool that Paige has a pen pal! Okay, I really should be helping DD with homework, not dis-ing! :upsidedow
