Hi! Wanted to introduce myself...DH and I will be sailing with y'all on the 24th! We always take a week without our kiddos. Don't worry...they get two cruises with us between now and then! It will be about our 20th DCL!!!

Saw Timon on another thread and she recommended a visit over here! Look forward to getting to know you.

I think we are going to have to start a Tinkerbell club for the cruise!!!
:tink: :tink: :tinker: :tinker:

Hi... welcome from another Tink fan! I'm Beth. My husband Matthew is on here as EPCOT VA. My daughters are coming on the cruise with us and it is the youngest one that made me a Tinkerbell fan! Megan and Sarah will turn 12 and 10 on the cruise!

Karen,

The code for the Budget location at Port is CC5. I believe it is on North Atlantic.

Are you booking through that UK site? I think the other location is for Avis. I know AFEG sent me that site and it gives you two locations, but doesn't tell you who it is.

What size car are you taking after the cruise? $30 is a really good rate. That's US$, not Pounds, correct?

Just a medium compact - it was £18.86 so yes, about $30

Don't you have a bottle of wine that wants to talk? :lmao:

Cheeky:snooty:

Maybe you should leave it at 7999 until tomorrow and take the night to think about it.

However, here's one for you:

I have finally come to my 8000th post,
I'm doing a poem because I request them the most.
But now for the rules, I will amend,
And milestone poems will come to an end.
Works for me. :rotfl:

Miserable toad! - I'm still gonna request my poems... and for your cheek I expect 2 verses off you next time:lmao:

Where did you go Karen? :confused3

4:45 your time, what's for dinner?

Roast chicken, veg and mash:rolleyes: ... diet food:rolleyes:

Karen, if you're around, you can have the 2,000th post.

Yeah right:rotfl: ... and my Dad's the pope

Karen, I think your light is on again and nobody is home. :rotfl:

Nothing new there then:rolleyes1

Question of the Day:

Which Disney character are you most excited to meet?

My answer: Kathy! :yay: And I mean that in a nice way. :cloud9:

*****

Good luck on the wrestling match today L. Have fun at the birthday party Jeff, Suz and L!! :yay:

I know I'm behind by a couple of days, but... I enjoy meeting the characters that you don't get to see very often. Peter Pan is cool to see. I can't wait to find Tinkerbell in the park now. Actually, I also enjoy meeting Captain Hook!

My kids have passed the age of clamouring to see the characters. (Or is it just that they have been around them too many times??)

What was really fun was Mickey and Minnie dressed for each port on our Med cruise!

So the three of us went to the mall last night and we took Kira on a carousel, similar to the one at MK with horses and she freaked out

So it seems we have a little bit of work ahead of us before we go to wdw :rolleyes1

We have a crappy little theme park here, which we are going to get season's passes for this summer so we can take her and get her used to going on rides :thumbsup2

We don't plan on doing a lot of rides at WDW but we would like to do some stuff ::yes:: ;)

When Megan was just over 1, I took her to Disneyland with a friend who's daughter was the same age. Her "freak out" came when she met Mickey... and then Minnie! I had to hold her on my other side in order to get our picture with Mickey!

Her next hurdle was dark places. She had to leave "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" and the Lion King theater show they used to have because she was so scared! (Her big thing at the time was waving and saying "Bye-Bye" when she didn't like someone or someplace!)

She eventually got used to it all... and so will Kira!

Tinkerbell.RN
03-19-2009, 12:00 PM
Wow, your daughter was 3 huh? :scared: Kira will be a month shy of 3 when we go :rolleyes1

I'm hoping going to Calaway Park will help her out a lot because when we go to Gymboree, she is a KAMIKAZI!!! :lmao:

Oh and bribery is awesome! :thumbsup2 ;) :rotfl2:

Funny enough, Cinderella's Golden Carousel was her first ride ever at WDW

Here's a pic from my cell phone last night...

She was ok until about a minute into the ride. Rob said she didn't like the up and down part of it :scared:

I think some of the horses don't go up and down...just look for them!

tikimimi
03-19-2009, 12:33 PM
I know AirTran is very big in MKE, so I have a question for you cheeseheads. How is the flying experience with AirTran? I have wanted to try them, but it never worked out. I was always a Delta guy, but their flight times stink for the 3 airports I was looking to fly out of.

I did pay the $6 per person for seat assignments. I figured that I didn't want us to get separated having small children, and we are in the row behind my parents.

Chris - I think everyone probably has diffretn experiences with all airlines at one time or another. We used to fly Air Tran all the time and had wonderful experiences; however, we have had two horrendous ones. They liek to cancel or rather postpone and repeat the postponement indefinitely sometimes. They have humans working customer service, so of course, sometimes the service is good and others it leaves a great deal to be desired. We have learned one thing with air Tran worth passing along - make sure you book at a time when there are other flights (several other) after yorus just in case. The horror stories are better left for in person.

I hate to say it but.....good! - no peanut butter is a good thing in our lives:banana:

It's pretty close. Andy told me about how long, I want to say 10 minutes. If he gets on at the airport tonight, he probably will chime in. He did say it was walking distance. I'll eyeball it, and if I think it is too far, I will politely ask for the shuttle back to the Radisson.

I saw how far it was at our last cruise, but since we were staying at the Residence Inn, I didn't pay much mind to how far it was from the Radisson, but it was at the time, the closest rental car agency to the Port and was very close to the Radisson.

Shiner loves being outside on running/walking trails. My son takes him running about 3 times a week. Shiner makes 20+ mile runs with him all the time, so this is his thing.

What is your first memory of Walt Disney World or Disneyland????

I was 2 and a half my first time going and all I can remember is sitting in a stroller (one of those old blue ones) in Fantasyland and being kissed on the nose by Winnie the Pooh. I also had one of those cool Donald hats that squeaked when you squeezed the beak.

robin went in 1972 with her baton corp and marched in the parade.:wizard:

my first wdw trip was the summer of 76. we went for 2 weeks. it was the first time i had really went on a trip like that and was amazed.:wizard: :wizard:
i remember being very depressed when robin and i left.
all these years later and i still get depressed when we leave.:rolleyes1

and our ds also had a dduck squeaking beak hat (in 1981)
i recall a castmember saying "hey kid, come over hear so i can squeak your beak"

Anybody following NCAA tournament? I'm not watching games but I filled out a sheet anyway. So far I've only missed one but the night isn't over yet.......

Time to get ready for Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice. I just discovered those shows & I really like them......

Evening all.

Just watched the Space Shuttle and ISS go overhead. Bright white dot moving quickly. It will be back in less than 2 hours, but for less than a minute and lower in the sky.

On the pass we just saw, it was really high and in the sky for 3 minutes. They said it would be at 47*, but it was much higher than that.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: - Thanks for asking! Shiner is doing great! He is currently hiking the Appalachian Trail with my son and some other guys. Shiner has been hiking now for 4 days and 2 more to go. I know he is a happy boy! Last text message I got from my son, he said he was hiking atop a mountain and it was gorgeous! Shiner loves being outside on running/walking trails. My son takes him running about 3 times a week. Shiner makes 20+ mile runs with him all the time, so this is his thing.

Hiking the complete Appalachian Trail is one of my "bucket list" items...Small World...:surfweb:

DS has another wrestling tournament this weekend. Hopefully the kids will be better paired in this one.

Sunday will be a tax day for me. Still have a few returns inhouse. I'm planning on doing a couple of the larger ones that day.

The little ones I can pop off a couple each night after dinner. I'm too tired tonight though to do any. I have two that I will just finalize tomorrow morning before work.

I've been looking at cutting back, but I keep getting calls from old clients that want them done. I figure I'll only get rid of 5 this year from last year, so the DC trip and cruise balance will be paid for. :woohoo:

Spring :confused3 What is that? We don't get Spring or Fall here. We go from winter to summer and summer to winter. The sad thing is this winter did not get very cold at all for us. I never had to wear a coat just a jacket. Even at 5am it was not cold enough for more then a jacket. Our low never got below 36 this summer, but our highs were averaging the mid 50's.

Good luck to your DS in his match this weekend.

Thanks. He has the moves down, but hasn't been doing it enough to be aggressive as some of the other kids. He is a "C" Class wrestler. His first opponent ever, which was last weekend, was an "A" class wrestler (tournament wasn't big enough). He got pinned, but was able to get well into the second round.

He won one of his matches, the second one, against a kid he was equally paired with. He almost pinned him in the first round, but couldn't execute the pin. He won on points at the end of the match. Took 3rd in his bracket.

Rain? You get rain in the spring. We get rain in the late summer months. They call it a monson. But there really is not that much rain. More wind, thunder, lighting and just enough rain to make mud on your windshield

I prefer the bright colors of the fall leaves. The Oranges, Reds and Yellows.

Cactus don't have pretty colors, they are either green (alive) or brown (dead) but if we got up to Flagstaff and take the ski lift up the mountain then we can see pretty colors. But it is only for the month of Oct which is a busy month for us, so we very seldom get to go up.

3rd for his first time out is fantastic :dance3: I used to go watch my junior high and high school teams. His first match does sound unfair for a "c" and "a" to be matched together.

Actually, we're both wrong.

I was looking at their site and everytime they talk about their products or company or divisions, they always put something after LEGO and make that plural.

So I did a quick search and here is what I found:

Which is correct as the plural of LEGO: 'Lego' or 'Legos'? Neither, actually. The word 'LEGO', when used as a noun, should only refer to the company that makes the product. Otherwise 'LEGO' is supposed to be used as an adjective. Thus, when referring to the pieces, neither 'lego' nor 'legos' is correct... rather one should say: 'LEGO bricks' or 'LEGO pieces' or whatever (using LEGO as an adjective -- and one should really capitalize all of the letters, and put the little 'circle-R' symbol after it (®)). This is all a matter of protecting the trademark of 'LEGO' for the company (using it otherwise degenerates the strength of the trademark).

Good afternoon everyone, evening for those across the pond.

On our last cruise, I dropped off the family at the Port with our luggage, and then returned the car to Budget. I took the shuttle back. It was probably about 15 minutes from drop off to return. On the way back, Elaine called my cell saying she finished everything. I asked her, "do you have my KTW card and she responded an affirmative. When I got to the Port, I went through the security, declined a boarding pass as Elaine had one, and met my family on the big sofa thingy's on the right side of the escalator. I didn't go through a check in process at all.

This time though, I will just ride the shuttle from the Radisson with all of the other crazy BOBers. The DCL staff won't know what to think when we ascend that escalator!

While I was away, there was indeed a vote that granted to give our 2009 3.5% raise back, to add insult to injury, our local property taxes are going up around .40 per $100 of property value and that doesn't include the school tax increase. So far, I'm already about $2500.00 in the hole and starting to worry about the possibilty of what this might mean for our October 2009 vacation plans, especially since I have Lina's massage therapy school tutition to pay for as well.

Been there done that. I have another Fantasy Baseball draft tonight at 7. Elaine has a Rotary Club auction to go to. I was supposed to go, but got out of it somehow. It's good because now my draft won't be an auto pick, and I can actually pick my players.

I know how you feel Andy. I was just having a similar conversation with Laura this morning. The new tax increases in this area will completely eat up my next raise. On top of that OT has been drying up a little at a time so my extra spending money on top of paying the bills is gone. If OT goes away completely I'll be cutting everything to the bone to stay afloat!

Nice. Laura tells me that some of her girlfriend's husbands' don't like them being away from the house. I'm always happy about it. It means I can do whatever I want! (Unless it's at my place then I'm relegated to my room or taking the kids out to a movie or some such)

I think I passed out 2 that day. One to Karen and one to someone else.

Maybe if we coordinate it right, we could snag #2's for all the BOBers. :woohoo: If you come in separate from your family, take a second one, pass it along. :thumbsup2

When looking at this picture, I was reminded that we did the "bands" the last time.

Do I dare ask if we want to do them again this time? I think they were around $2.00 or $2.10 per band.

Maybe Orange this time with the Black writing (we did no darkening the last time). It could say "Bash On the Boat 10/24/09".

How about another question of the day...

What is your favorite Disney animated movie????
Mine is The Lion King. I love the story, I love the music. It's just a great production. I want to see it on Broadway sometime. Perhaps after the cruise.

The Lion King for me too Christian. :thumbsup2 Kristin and I won tickets to the premier of The Lion King when it was in the Milwaukee area. We also saw the play last year. :)

isnt he your only son in law?:lmao:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSE!!:cool2:
now that you're a year older, i'm sure to beat you on the bball court on the Magic.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Was just talking with a fellow co-worker of mine.

It's just like the little saying that was on our paystubs a few months back, "Just when you think you are going to make the ends meet, they move the ends." So true.

It really is everywhere. We had a staff meeting Wednesday where they told us that nobody - across the board from admin on down - was getting a raise with their contracts next year. Enrollment is down from where it usually is. I am fine but some are having to think of leaving.

Do you think Orange would be good this time or go with the usual Lime Green?

If we go Orange, do we order them with Black fillin in the words? It would stand out for sure.
