We have never stayed there but my best friend got married at the Jekyll Beach club last year and we drove by the campground. It looked a good distance from the beach but very quiet, private, and primitive. Have you ever been to Jekyll?
I hope someone that has stayed at the campground can help you out!:)

Stayed there last year,I can say that the restrooms were clean,They have cable tv.The sites are close to each other,it's quite shaded,It's not the fort...no where close....I would stay there just to go to jekell again. There are no paved roads inside the campground,no paved sites,And it's... really packed in the summer time...think one camper after another..

Thank you for the replies. I am booked right before our 4th of Jult trip to the fort and I think we will enjoy it. We will be at the beach and Summer waves at least 3 days and on the go quite a bit. Our TT is only 18 feet so I think the sites will be OK. It can't be much hotter than home (fla) and we will be away from home :) It won out over Myertle Beach because it is closer and over Gatlinberg because we want to save that for the fall.
