So DW & I are looking for a small bit of advice. We have a meal booked @ Palo on the first night, and had some attire questions. We read through the Navigators from our first cruise and it sounds like what we were planning on wearing (me: dress shirt & tie, khaki pants, dw: nice blouse, dressy skirt) would be ok. We were reading somewhere else (I forget where at the moment) that women should have dresses or pant-suits, but the male attire would be similar to what I had listed for myself. Seems like a bit of a double-standard if men can get away with what most would consider a bit more dressed down than women. Would you think what we both have planned would be acceptable? DW & I are hoping that she would be able to wear what she has planned, or she might have to get something new. Our plan is to wear what we have, and hope what we have is good enough for them. If we do get turned away, that would be kind of a lousy start to our vacation.
As far as excursions, we don't really have anything planned at this time. We're not even sure if we'll be getting off of the boat in Nassau. We might just hang around on the ship & play bingo, eat, and go to movies.
I can't wait to be on vacation!!! I only have 5 days of work left after today, and I only have 1.25 hours left in my shift today. Vacation is alllllllllmost here pirate:pirate:pirate:

We leave for Disney in less then a week...I am sooo excited I can not stand it. Today is PACKING DAY! I also need to find my FE, and tons of other things. We moved less then a month ago and my house is in shambles! Today's plans also include making my fish extender gifts AND all of my magnets! LOL Oh and I am babysitting my niece Alyssa. She is excited about going to see DonDuck and Daisy too....But she is 21 months old and not much of a help at packing. LOL

The packing is all done! It was a bit overwhelming at first wondering if I could pack for 10 days and be able to get everything in 2 large suitcases and 2 carry-ons, but I managed with room to buy stuff to bring home! :thumbsup2
Now if only the week will fly by, we will be very happy :yay: to finally start this long awaited vacation. Can't wait to meet everyone and wish everyone has a safe flight or car trip. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am jealous of you guys that have your packing done. DH finished almost all of his last week but I have yet to start. Planning on working on that all day Halloween day. But we're not flying so we don't have space restrictions so that helps.
We are going to Universal for the first time - has anyone been? Are there a lot of rides that I can't take bags/items on? Trying to figure out how much to bring with me there or if I will need to rent a locker.

Hi,
I was thinking (instead of packing...:rotfl:) should we confirm a time and meeting place since some of us get to leave this week for vacation-not me :sad2:
Would it be easier to meet inside like someone suggested vs. up on deck as it can be crowded. Just thinking out loud.....
Can't wait for next Thursday! Work is driving me crazy!

OK so we're driving and will have the better part of 2 days (while we're in Universal) without a hotel room. What should we do with our passports? Should we keep them on us (DH worries we'd lose them) or leave them in the car (I worry they'll get stolen)? Any thoughts?

Does universal have lockers like disney does? That way you wouldnt have to leave them in the car but also wouldnt need to worry about them getting wet/lost/dropped on a ride/etc.

I was thinking that also, some of the group should be leaving real soon. It doesnt matter to us. Before or after the drill, inside or outside. Really our only preference would be after the sail away party since it's our first cruise and we have no idea what or where we'll be between the buffet/going to the room/checking out the ship and getting ready for the drill.
But we'll be there regardless, so just let us know where and when. :thumbsup2

My vote is for 3:00 on Deck 9. Based only on my vague remembering that there was a fair amount of "down time" before the drill.:confused3 That said, I am fine with whatever the majority prefers. Hot dog we leave in 8 days!!!!!!

Hey gang, was just playing around on the dcl site and they have Palo ressies available. The only day/time that came up was port canaveral day (day 1) at 7pm.
As this is our first cruise, we wanted to eat in the 3 dining rooms and not at palo (this time). But I figured I would let you all know it's out there in case someone was looking. :confused3

Hi everyone. Getting so excited for our cruise! I've done some changing around in our plans and ended up canceling the Wine and Cheese excursion on Friday in Nassau. DH felt it was expensive and said he'd rather stay on the ship. I don't blame him LOL!!!! Also changed around our couples massage for Port Canaveral night...Ooh la la LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
I'm excited about the possibility of meeting up on the first day. I'd love to get a photo as well. Just let me know when and where. DH may not be able to join in since he works overnight and unfortunately couldn't get Wed night off from work. He'll probably try to nap as soon as we get on the ship and wake up for the safety drill. He'll be GRUMPY if he doesn't get his sleep and I can't deal with grumpiness on VAC so he better rest up because I plan on dancing it up at the sail away party whooo hooo!
By the way, are we the only ones with EARLY dinner seating?
schimj

By the way, are we the only ones with EARLY dinner seating?
We have the early/main dining this time as well. We're still kind of undecided about going to the shows or not. We did see all 3 when we were on our cruise in Jan, so we might skip them this time. I thought the wine & cheese excursion you'd booked looked good, but too expensive...especially since DW isn't a wine drinker. We can also sympathize about the grumpiness...if I get too hungry, sometimes I get a bit of a short fuse. Luckily that's not typically the case on our WDW/DCL trips. We'll be coming off 3 days of the DxDDP, so we might be a bit overfed if anything :lmao:
We're sooooo excited for vacation:banana::banana::banana: We are both down to one day of work prior to vacation after today!!! The wait is almost over:cool1:pirate:

Today is my Last day of work! YAY! We leave for Orlando at 8am tomorrow. I am up to check us in to southwest! YAY!!!
We have the early seating too. I have always had the late seating for all of my prior cruises, but with my niece we thought early was better....we will see!!! The only show I really want to see is Disney Dreams....makes me cry everytime (I have seen it 4 times so far).
Soooo Close!!!

Everyone have safe flights! As for the word series, I asked. If (and it's a BIG if) they go to game 7, we can watch it on arielvision :banana::banana:
But, I do believe our beloved Phillies will end it before it gets to game 7 (or 6 lol).
I will hold down the fort on the homefront for y'all. I have 4 12-hour work days starting tomorrow to get through, then off on tuesday and we finally leave 7am on wed. It's good though, work actually makes the days go faster.
We're (both my 4 and brother tom's 4) on the late dining. We'll catch all the shows since none of us have been before, and that made our dining decision for us. We didn't want to have to sit through a show feeling bloated or with a button or two undone. :lmao::rotfl2:
This way, after dinner, we can waddle around the deck for a bit. (march of the penguins anyone?) :rotfl:

We have to leave our house at 3:00 am to go to the airport. Don't think we will be able to sleep, it was hard last night, we are sooooo close now! Well, haven't been on the ship yet, but nobody seems to be making a decision...reading back, it looks like 2 popular places were deck 10, and 7 aft.
As far as times, i saw both before the drill and after....so how does
1. 3pm deck 10 midship, dock side (which i believe is the right side, forgive me and my lack of terminology lol)
2. 5pm deck 7 aft, after sailaway party
How do those 2 sound? now vote dammit. :rotfl2::lmao:

Well, everything is packed, we took the puppy to his "doggy hotel" at petsmart, . A few more little things to do, but 3am (Hey tom, who's bright idea was it to fly out at the crack of dawn?.....Oh wait, that was me.) Anyway, 3 am is coming awfully quickly and by 4:30 we're on our way. So this is it for me, as far as checking in. Although I am bringing the laptop (free internet in our hotel room) so I may post something tomorrow night....like how Our Phillies forced a game 7 on Thursday. :happytv:
See you all on the Wonder!

Lucky dog. lol We will note it on our fe list. Well I am up early, as usual, typing here from the radisson. I did get a treat though. I went for a walk around the hotel grounds about 5:10 and was lucky to catch the wonder coming by on her way in to the dock all lit up. Very nice surprise. :thumbsup2
Not long now. See you all on the ship ( or even at the port if anyone recognizes us. :confused3

Just a few more hours now! DH and I just packed up the car and now were sitting around waiting for 9am to drive on over to Port Canarveral. We have a few things to pick up on the way, but then it's smooth sailing.
Made a note of the switch pjpoohbear. I'll let the 3pm group know, if your not there.

We had a wonderful time! Thank you all for the great FE gifts! So sorry we didn't make it to the meet, I forgot about it. I hope people took pictures. We had such a great cruise we signed up for the 5 night in August that goes to Key West, Bahamas and Castaway Cay!!

Hello everyone. Welcome back. Thank You for all of the wonderful FE gifts. I definitely think we must have been reading eachother's minds with the CDs. I'm so excited to listen to them all! The magnets, pirate goodies, memory book and treats were just fantastic! This was my first FE and it was a great experience! I'm so happy that I had the opportunity to meet some of you!
Lisa and Pete, I saw you a few times from far away but never at the right moment to be able to introduce my self. Once, I recognized you two from the glass elevator but you were on the deck below. I was waving like a lunatic. People must have thought I was nuts. LOL. I really wanted to wish you a Happy Anniversary! I'm so happy for you that you were able to book another cruise for August. I hope you got a great deal!
TiffanyD and Schimj, we really enjoyed having martinis with you!
Everyone, I will post pictures soon!

We had a great time on the cruise - hope everyone else did!! We didn't get to meet everyone - but ran into quite a few of you guys somewhere along the way. We weren't so sneaky with our FE gifts and so we met some that way.
This was only our 2nd cruise (both 3-nighters) and it was totally different than the first! The first one we did all the meals, shows, and got off the ship at both Nassau and Castaway Cay. This time we skipped a dinner for Palo, didn't go to any shows to have more time to explore, stayed on the boat at Nassau, and found some fun new ship activities.
One thing that remains the same as the first is that I brought back an extra souvenir (a sinus infection). Does anyone else have problems like that cruising? Today I am without a voice... which schimj might not mind so much but I miss talking!!!
We visited the future cruise desk on the ship so maybe we will see some of you on a future cruise. Thanks for all the great gifts and hope everyone got home safely!!!

Well, we are still here at the port. We checked back into the radisson after the cruise for last night and tonight. But we head home to philly airport tomorrow afternoon. We had an incredible time on our first cruise, thank you all for the wonderful FE gifts! We are now officially hooked. Financially we just couldnt swing a deposit for the 4 of us for another cruise, but we are almost 100% decided on the 7 day western on 10/30/2010. Hopefully we can reserve it after the holidays and lock it in. The hurricane is supposed to hit the panhandle tomorrow, right when we need to fly out, so wish us luck on no delays. :scared1: It was Great to meet you all, and we will surely post pics once we get back home. :thumbsup2

We're going to be on the 10/30/10 7-Night!!! It'll be our 3rd DCL trip, and we're going to have a 3rd cruise between now and then...DW (TifffanyD)'s b-day is in June, we were thinking of doing a DCL trip for it, but decided against DCL due to summer rates.

You will be sailing with us again then!!! We booked the 10/30/2010 last January on our first DCL cruise! :thumbsup2
Aww too bad you couldn't at least book 2 ppl on the cruise then try to add 2 more later. That way you could've locked in the 10% discount and $200 shipboard credit.
I hope you make it out alright - you aren't too near the panhandle so hopefully it won't affect your

Thank you all for the wonderful gifts. We got such a kick out of delivering and checking our FE's. I can't wait to listen to everything. I hope everyone arrives home safe and well rested. Jumping back into things was no easy task today. We re-booked a 7 night Eastern on board for Oct 2011 but plan to move it to 2012 when the window opens up. Kind of hard to plan that far out but thrilled to have something on the horizon. :hippie:

We made it back Sunday night, but it took this long for me to get back into the groove of things. Monday at school was brutal and I was asleep in bed by 8:30 last night. Missing the great service on board for sure, it was a real wake-up call when I had to make my own bed and pack a lunch! We really had a great time - after the drama of getting on the ship. One of the members of our party had to see the ship's doctor for a cough before he was allowed on board. His family couldn't take the bus to port with us, they were shuttled to the port in a town car - not a bad way to go, but the stress of not knowing if he was going to be allowed to board did him in for the rest of the day. In all that craziness, I totally forgot about the meet at 3:00. We booked another cruise for November, 2011 on the Dream, using our DVC points. Can't wait! Glad everyone made it home safe, and had a great cruise!

Hey gang. We made it back last night. Flying out was a little bumpy, but nothing too bad. Our flight was late getting into Orlando for us to board by about a 1/2 hour. It was coming from atlanta and apparently they were getting pounded. Glad we had a nonstop and didnt have to go BACK through atlanta (airtran).
We miss the service as well. It was our first cruise, and we are now hooked. We are seriously looking at the oct 30, 2010 7 day as it is perfect for us. Perfect time as far as days off, we would prefer the Western over eastern, and its a western, and going over halloween sounds fun. So, we'll see what happens. :confused3

Hey everyone!!
We did make it back OK, and yes we are all hooked. Even the kids (2 boys age 14 and 9) admitted they liked the "boat ride over the park" which surprised the heck out of me.
And thank you all for the incredible FE gifts....my 9 yr old found a pirate ring that he still hasn't taken off, and my oldest is loving the cd's!
It was cool meeting all of you, and hopefully we can do it again real soon. I know my brother says a 7 day next October.....he must see a lottery winning in the future that I don't see....LOL!! I hope he's right!!
