Hey guys!
Well, I tried and tried to leave it until later to start my PTR but I jsut couldn't wait anymore!!!!
I'm Victoria (23, from London, UK) and my fiance and I are off to WDW this October! :hyper:
Here is a photo of us from our Januray trip to Disneyland Paris.
http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2110/219/66/821450083/n821450083_5548477_8667.jpg
During the trip Jack proposed to me in the castle, while we were the only two people in the park!! :lovestruc :lovestruc
Needless to say we have convinced my parents that a WDW wedding is the wedding for us. So this trip is our first planning trip! :bride:
I haven't been to WDW since 1993 when I was 7, and Jack has never been, so really it'll be a completely new experience for both of us!! And I'm going to make sure to get him a 'first trip' pin! :thumbsup2
I booked a couple of weeks ago, after spending weeks trying to decide between CSR and POFQ, in the end FQ won and now I am 100% happy wth my decision and really feel like I've made the right choice as we want to relax as well while we're away and it looks so peaceful and romantic.
I can't to start planning properly, and would love some advice from all you WDW experts!
Speak soon, Torsie xxxx

Ooh! A PTR! Hi Torsie :teeth:
You will love POFQ - it's a beautiful resort, and we loved it there! We liked the fact that it's very compact and you can walk easily to the pool, food court, or wherever in a matter of minutes! I would definitely stay there again and I'm going to use it for one of my room blocks :)

Your dates are my favorite time to go. You will love POFQ it is lovely especially that you can take the boat from the hotel to downtown disney in the evenings and it is truly a beautiful ride and saves getting the buses.
Looking forward to hearing more.

I think i'll stay at POFQ for my 2010 trip so I'd love to here your review.
Some tips for planning:
Find out which days have extra Magic Hours and avoid as they often end up as the busiest days apart from when the park first opens
Book ADRs for any meals you really want
Get a resort refill mug
Take your own water bottle into the parks

Well guys, I think I am all set for planning my trip now!!
My passporter arrived on Monday and I LOVE it!!! I also have the Brits Guide, Unofficial Guide and Tour Guide Mike. And most importantly the DIS!
So it's safe to say I'm going prepared!
Now all I need is the park times and I will be a very happy, busy, planning bee!!
Also, we are trying to decide if it's worth buying Universal AND Sea world tickets or just Universal. My fiance really wants to go to US so we'll definitely go there, as Disney is more me than him, but I'd love to go to SW, so we're going to look at what time we'll really have and see if we can squeeze SW in too. :teeth:

Well I cracked and told Jack about AKL! I kind of regret not having a big surprise for him, but it's made me more excited really. He started off by sighing and rolling his eyes. Then got a little mad about the extra ££ spent. But in about 10 minutes he was asking to see photos which he LOVED! (Thank you Jambo Wildbunch!) And he is very excited to stay there now!
I am soooo desperate for July and the park hours to come out, but I can't help but plan, plan and plan some more!! I just cannot wait to do it for real, but here are my ideas so far!
Thu Oct 1st: We will hopefully arrive late afternoon, so will just check in, explore AKL a bit, and get dinner at Mara before crashing in our Disney beds and getting our first glimpse of the infamous Stacey! I'd like to say we might have time for a swim, but I doubt it...
Fri 2nd
AM: We will be awake at about 5am due to the time difference if every other US trip I've been on is anything to go by. So we plan on taking advantage of our crazy bodyclocks for the first few days. I can't visit any park other than MK first, so hopefully we'll be there for the opening ceremony. If it's EMH I'm pretty sure we'll even be able to make it in plenty of time for 8am! I hope to go on Splash Mountain, BTMRR, Mickey's Philarmagic, IASW and Jungle Cruise before the lines get too long.
PM: We'll stay at MK until we are too hot/tired/fancy a break, which I'm not expecting to be much longer than a few hours due to all of the travelling yesterday, but I will make sure I get a dole whip before we head off!! We'll need to get some supplies for breakfasts and snacks to keep in the room, so will head to the Hess at DTD for these, and also maybe get EoS for lunch/dinner and there is no way I'm not getting some treats from Goofy!! We won't be staying up late for the first few nights. So will laze around the resort for the evening. More Stacey? :happytv:
Sat 3rd
AM:AKL Rope drop today! EE, Kali and Kilamanjaro Safaris are my main aims, but I would also love to go to the petting zoo and Jack wants to go on Dinosaur (although I'll be like this :scared1: on it!)
PM:Once we're pooped we'll just head back to AKL so chillax a bit. If we do feel we have a bit of stamina by later in the evening I'd love to catch Spectro and Wishes!!
Sun 4th
AM:DHS Rope drop today! I'm sure you can guess where we'll be heading first!! TSM! Jack is also very excited for the Great Movie Ride, and we both really want to go to the Walt Disney Exhibit! We love/hate Tower of Terror at Disneyland Paris and so will ride it today I'm sure, but will both be peeing our pants in the line!!
PM: I'm tempted to make Dinner reservations for WCC for about 4 or 5 for today, and then we can ahve a good nosey around WL and get the boat to the CR also. (It is our plan this trip to visit every Deluxe resort so we are well informed for our wedding/disneymoon choices!)
Mon 5th
AM:Epcot Rope Drop! And straight to Soarin for both of us!! I also want to ride test track and then be re-united with my beloved figment, who I have missed since I met him in 1993 and LOVED! Jack is excited to Ride Ellens Energy Adventure, and I want to ride SE and also the Land...Ooooh and Nemo of course!! Yay! I'm thinking maybe back to AKL for a bit of chilling after Futureworld....
PM:Once we've recharged our batteries, it's World Showcase time! I'm tempted to do this via BC/YC and enter through IG so we have ticked off some more Deluxe hotel visits! I am soooo excited to pick a pearl, and Jack wants to ride Maelstrom! The whole of WS looks just awesome to me, so we will explore and then get a good spot for Illuminations, with a School Bread!!!
Tue 6th
AM:I have talked with our wedding photographers and this is likely the day that Jack and I will be meeting them for our Engagement Photo session. We want to take photos at the Poly and they suggested the BW as another great place for photos.
PM: I don't really have any plans for this afternoon, as the photos could be ongoing, or moved to later on. Maybe a water park, just relaxing by the pool, or DTD for T-Rex dinner. Who knows? It may even be a fantasmic night which is one of my 'must do's for the trip.
Wed 7th/Thu 8th
I have both of these days earmarked for US/IOA. Jack looooves Comics so he will be really excited there I'm sure! I'm also excited for Rip, Ride Rock it and Jurassic Park, as I love the JP ride in Hollywood!
After this my plans become a little hazy...I think we may do MNSSHP on Friday 9th, before the Columbus Day Weekend crowds hit too bad. CD is the reason I want to get lots done during our first week so that we can take it easier and relax more during the busier second week.
I'm pretty sure most I've bored you all to tears by now, but if anyone is still reading, Thank You!!

Last weekend we went shopping and I bought a new bag for my Carry on luggage!
It's a hard, suitcasey kinda one, and I love it as it's the perfect size for my little laptop/netbook and because it's PINK!
Here it is:

Also, an added bonus is that it's exactly Cat sized:

Food food food!
I realised today thaat I haven't written on here the places that I am considering for meals. We don;t have DDP and I don't want too many ADRs to be dictating our trip. But here are the meals I fancy. Those in bold are ones I really want!
Jiko
Boma (Breakfast + Dinner)
Teppan Edo
Grand Floridian Cafe
Whiserping Canyon
T-Rex (This is top of Jack's list!)
O'hana Breakfast (We love Stitch!)
California Grill
Sci Fi
Crystal Palace Breakfast
Beaches and Cream
These two wont be ADRs but I want them soooooooooo bad:
Earl of Sandwich
WP Express
Oh and
:goofy:GOOFY'S!!!!!!!:goofy:
I need to get pretzels sticks and marshmallow! So will be in more than once!

Also, this is nothing to do with my trip, but I love that AussieAngel told us all about her cat Annie in her TRs so now I want to aswell!
We have a fur-baby called Bella, she is almost 4 and is the cheekiest, funniest, cutest, craziest animal I have ever met in the world! Jack and I love her so much that most people this we're mad!
Here's some photos!
http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v169/219/66/821450083/s821450083_1752137_2472.jpghttp://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v99/219/66/821450083/s821450083_618596_4665.jpghttp://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v185/219/66/821450083/s821450083_2065811_8160.jpg

Great choices, we loved Boma and will be returning for dinner this year and also breakfast (had to cancel last time as the bf was ill on the day) California Grill is very nice also :goodvibes I know you say you don't have DDP but for that many TS meals I would seriously consider it, it's a great saving even if you pay for it :)

Oh yeah, i know it's a great deal, but we won't be doing all of those, probably only like 4 TS meals for the trip, they are just the ones we have to choose from. :)
It is currently only £60 more for us though to add DDP if we wanted to switch resorts to SSR, but I'm too in love with AKL now!

So, thee are my 3 current favourite books:
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Books.jpg
Now, any normal (read non-Disser) person would think this was maybe overkill.....
But not for this crazy lady! I got very excited reading about peoples home made planning binders over on the WDW tips board, and had to have me one of those!
I also know my passporter is a bit big to carry to the parks, so that was my main excuse.
This is it so far:

A change to our ADR plans
So, I previously mentioned our dining plans, but they have changed a little. I think we have a definitive list now though, although days are yet to be arranged:
'Ohana Breakfast - For a 10.30 reservation on a MK EMH day so we can have an hour or two in the park and work up an appetite.
Boma Breakfast - For the morning after either MNSSHP or our long day at Universal
GF Cafe Lunch - On the day of our wedding planning meeting.
T-Rex Lunch - Jack is desperate to eat here!
Sci-Fi Lunch - Another request from Jack. :)
WCC Dinner - Either before MNSSHP or before our Spectro/Wishes night
Kona Dinner - Either before MNSSHP or before our Spectro/Wishes night
Jiko Dinner - Towards the end of the trip. :cloud9:
Any thoughts will be greatly recieved!

We love WCC, Kona and Sci-Fi! The burgers and milkshakes at Sci-Fi are very nice! We always do lunch here :)
Skillet at WCC is fab, could live on the pulled pork, and I love the shrimp despite the fact I have to peel them. Love the chicken and corn too, The Smores Cheesecake is the best cheesecake EVER!!
Jiko and the 'Ohana Breakfast we liked :) The filet & mac'n'cheese is the less exciting option, but very good!!

So, for my birthday Jack bought me a bag for WDW. I looked at loads of different ones but I think this is the best!! It was only £10 but I love it! And it's very funky looking!
Here it is from the front. As you can see it has lots of little pockets, one perfectly camera sized and on top of that pocket is even a zippy up pocket that is exactly KTTW size!!
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Bag1.jpg
It has loads of room in the two main pockets!
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Bag2.jpg
One of the wierd things is you can take the main strap off and then unzip two bits at the back and straps come out so you can wear it round your waist. Normally I'm like "no way jose" with bum bags/fanny packs but because it's pretty funky looking and that's where the bag naturally sits on your body it might provide my shoulders with a bit of relief!
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Bag3.jpg
And the best bit??? It's the perfect size for my planning book!!!!

Mr Bella isn't a dirty stop-out really, he is so cute and friendly and Bella loves him so much that we sort of encourage him in these days, he has a nosey arond and a tickle and they kiss each other and make cute chipy noises together, then he normally has a wash and a lie down adn heads back home again.
I wish he could live with us, but because he's such a sweetheart I know he has a lovely family out there too. :) Maybe I should put a note on him!
OMG put on channel 4 now! A show called 'My Monkey Baby' starts at 10! The only thing that could improve Bella was if she was a little fluffy monkey!

So Friday was my ADR day. :)
I phoned up at the start of my lunch hour, which luckily co-incides with it being 7am in FL, but I was a few minutes after that.
Got through with no wait and the girl I spoke to was lovely and very helpful, annoyingly the UK reservtion number we get given doesn't work for ADRs so she had to put me on hold for 5-10 minutes while she tracked down my US reservation number - I didn't mind though as Disney hold is the happiest hold music ever!
Once she came back we were all set to go. I got:
Sci Fi Dine In, Lunch for the 3rd Oct - wanted 12pm got 12.05
(It's an EMH day so we figure we'll get there super early and do everything we can and then leave after lunch unless we have some FPs left to use or something.)
Kona Cafe Dinner for 5th October - wanted 7pm got 7.10 so very happpy again. :)
We are having our engagement photo shoot at the poly, so we've scheduled this for afterwards, make it a bit of a romantic night.
Boma Breakfast for 10th Oct, got 10.30 exact time I wanted.
This si the morning after our MNSSHP so we fancy a slow start and it'll probably just be an AKL kinda day anyway.
I also called in and got a T-Rex lunch for 8th Oct for 3.30pm as we might be seeing Fantasmic that night so I thought an early dinner might be the best bet, and we can maybe get a goofy snack to take in with us for the wait.
I have a few more to get once the days open up for us:
GF Cafe
Jiko
CP Breakfast
and maybe WCC...I can't decide....

Yaaaaaaaaaay!! Just got 3 more ADRs!!
12.30pm lunch at GF Cafe (I got 12.35) - I asked if I could add on the slipper dessert but my super helpful CM checked and she said you have to ask when you get there? I didn't want to argue but might call back.
Crystal Palace breakfast!! Got 8.05am  Woooooooo!!
Jiko Dinner, wanted 8pm, got 8.20 so another great one!!!
Yay!!! My trip seems so real now!!

Wooohoooo!! I bet you're excited now!!
I wonder if they only have 12.05pm at Sci-Fi?! We always ask 12pm and that's the time we always get!
You definitely have to pre-book the slipper, I don't think you can book it on the day, but I bet someone like Sonya (Pooh's Honey Pot) could help you with something like that!!
SOUNDS DELICIOUS! Can't wait for the foodie report!!

Sorry for the delay everyone! I have recently discovered crochet and I'm making a huge blanket that's keeping my really busy! :rotfl:
So I think perhaps this is a little premature - but I have bought SO much stuff for the trip that on SUnday I got out my big pink suitcase and put all the bits in it that I wont need until the trip, so far I have packed:
- 4 bottles of sun cream (took advantage of all the buy 1 get 1 free offers on at the moment)
- a huge after sun lotion
- 2 little bottles of spf 15 spray lotion for park bags
- blister band aids I got on buy 1 get 1 free
- tea tree face wipes (I take one or two in a zip lock round the parks to wipe my face and then re-apply suncream as my skin gets awful otherwise!)
- small and large zip lock bags (always handy!)
- shower gel and a loofah thingy
- pain killers and IBS medicine
- some disney underwear I got
- eye make up remover pads
- those ace travel size bits you get - mouthwash/baby powder/toothpaste etc.
- aqua shoes for TL/BB
- washing powder tablets
- mini mister fans
- peppermint foot spray and lotion
- one of my park bags
In my carry on bag which is currently also in the case I have
- inflatable travel pillow
- sunglasses
- $11 in singles and a $5 that my mum bought me back from her recent holiday (handy for tipping!)
- fairfx card (currently only got about $400 on)
So as you can see I still have LOADS left to add (mainly clothes!!!! LOL) but this way I can now keep adding to the case whenever I find bits to take or buy new bits.
I also paid off Disney in full yesterday!! Which made me really excited!
AND did our ESTAs so we're no legally granted entry into the USA! :thumbsup2
And I got an awesome deal on Universal park tickets with Mears transport to and from our hotel. :)
Yaaaaaaaay, it's all coming together so nicely!!

One little thing I would point out is that the ESTA is only an authority to travel and doesnt legally grant you access into the US. That is still down to the discretion of the immigration officials at the airport - same as the green waiver form. Not that I expect that you will have any trouble (unless of course you get reported for wandering around the plane squirting a strange smelling spray in every direction)

I hope we do get in, :), I've not had trouble in the past, so fingers crossed I'll be ok ;) I was actually a little worried about the spray on the plane, but I think i'll spray it onto a tissue first discreetly and then by the time the smell travels everything will be wiped and I'll be living a clean flight kinda life!
Plus you still have to fill in the green visa waiver form on the plane. And just like every year I managed to put my date of birth in the wrong place again. :sad2:
Haha, yeah every year I have to get a second form as I write above the lines instead of below or vice versa! I'm going to try adn read it properly first this tim!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Glad I'm not the only one who does that! :headache:
It's all coming together nicely Torsie. I spent hours sorting out all my toiletries last week....I have got 3 lots! One lot of disposables for our night at the hotel before as we will check our cases in using Twilight. Then the main bulk for our OKW & Poly stay & a seperate set to go in the cruise suitcase.
Awesome!! That is some great planning!!!!!! I will be doing the same if we have a hotel beforehand, although i take toothpaste/toothbursh for the plane and face wipes etc anyway, so I do still have to sort my in flight toiletries.
:rotfl:,even before the swine flu-i would get strange looks for wiping+spraying everything-anywhere :rotfl2:.Please tell me i am not the only one who gets to there hotel+only unpacks the cleaning stuf, and cleans ALL surfaces, toilet, bath, units+pops the remote control into a zip lock bag before it is used :confused3 :lmao:.x.
You aren't the only one at all! Cleaning the room is what my dettol wipes are for! (They'll be in the fornt section of my bag. I was jsut going to wipe the remote with one too...but i do like your ziplock bag idea!!!!!!!
Ooooh and I need to do my mousekepping envelopes! Might do them this afternoon on the work printer! :thumbsup2

Sorry that this thread has been totally abandoned for a while! With the start of the football season we have been busy crazy at work.
At any rate, once you see this thread you'll have wished it wasn't updated, as I can freely admit I may have gone a bit over board with the pre-trip planning!!!
I started my proper packing today!! And thought I would photo document it, as I've seen other PTRs done this way in the past and enjoyed them. So anyone who isn't completely insane like me - look away now! (If you'd told me a year ago I'd be packing 2 weeks before departure AND taking photos of it, I'd have probably smacked you in the face, but then I also wouldn't have believed you I'd be packing for a wedding planning trip to WDW, so I think my "dreams are coming true" type excitement has a lot to do with it!)
Enough for the rambling - her goes with the packing!
First I tackled the most important part of packing to me! The toiletries! Now I left out the copius amounts of medicines and female prodcuts from the photo, as they don't need to be documented!
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Toiletries.jpg
(How cute are the little hair straighteners! I love them!)
Also I have my sunscreens (and the biggest aftersun ever!):
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Suncream.jpg
Then, I packed them (+ non photographed things) into two bags so they can be evenly divided between our suitcases so we'll be OK should a case go missing!
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Toil-bags.jpg
I also sorted out my in park bags, including my MNSSHP candy bag. :) Jack still needs to make his. I have put a couple of bits in there too, like video camera, mister fans etc.
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/ParkBags.jpg
A couple of weeks ago I made our Mousekeeping envelopes.
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Mousekeeping1.jpg
Of course the second paper was spread over the spare bed I gained a helper who had previously only been an observer:
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Mousekeeping2.jpg
(Why do cats love paper so much?)
Once I'd removed Bella, I moved onto hand luggage, this is my bag that I love:
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/HL1.jpg
It divides into two sections, one of which I will be putting in my netbook, other electronics and also valuable bits like currency etc. As nothing can fall out of that section if the bag was opened.
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/HL2.jpg
In case any of you are DS fans like me, here is my inflight gaming selection:
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Games.jpg
In the main section of the bag I have my little bag of liquids (mainly germ killing products!) a little bag of toiletries/medicine we might need for the journey, and my neck pillow, which rolls up really small and fits perfectly into a little elastic-y compartment of the bag. :)
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/HL3.jpg
I also have a couple of books for the trip, and the new Dan brown on order which should arrive this week:
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/Books-1.jpg
I've not packed clothing yet, that is next weekends job, but I did buy a pair of board shorts today, to complete my water park outfit:
http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/Torsie24/WaterparkWear.jpg
The little shoes set the whole ensemble off wonderfully............
All that packing sure tired us out!

Thanks Em and Natalie! :)
I can never be bothered to do anything once I get home from work. So although I seem organised as I technically only have 4 packing days left (2 weekends), I still have a lot to do!

Wow looking at these pictures makes me excited just to pack for our trip!!
May I ask which hair straighteners you have photographed for taking with you? After reading some things online about some uk hair straighteners not working in america, im a bit worried as i need hair straighteners!!!

Eeeeeeeeeee.
Only 2 more sleeps in our own bed!!
We pretty much did all of our packing yesterday, and now we just have 3 days of work to endure until we leave for the airport hotel Wednesday night.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Last night I had the realisation that I hadn't filled in nearly enough information in my planning book. And that I won't get the time between now and then to sit with my computer and copy it all down.
But then I ahd the most awesome idea! I have saved all the relevant Tour Guide Mike pages for our trip, as Webpages that are viewable offline, so I can open them up on the plane and copy it all down into my planner on the plane. :) It'll pass the time on the flight and help our trip!

Yeah, I am getting very little done!
I am going to be an absolute nightmare to work with on Wednesday!
Off to the gym for my last session with my trainer before the trip. I'm scared he's going to work me really hard to make up for it.
I'm still in pain from yesterday's workout. :(

Yeah, he's great. My dad is paying for him for the lead up to the wedding for me. I would never work out so hard if I were at the gym on my own, so it's really worth it. Still got a loong way to go before I'm in shape though!
He went pretty easy on me today as it's my first back-to-back workout.
That's it now though, next time I'm in the gym will be after WDW!!!

I hope that you have an amazing time! I've just checked out and waiting to return to the UK, and I can tell you that it's all so magical and the weather is still glorious!
Be sure to run to Soarin, Toy Story Mania, Kilimanjaro Safaris and Splash Mountain when the parks open - they're the best rides! And don't miss the Phillarmagic in Fantasyland! ♥
Have a safe trip and I cannot wait to read all about it when you return! :)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
So I made it through the night! And actually slept for all of it!
I have woken up a crazy amount of excited (and a little bit nauseas) and have just put my last load of washing on of stuff that Jack's been wearing but has decided he needs for the trip. Not even that has put me in a bad mood though, (even though the cases are packed to perfection!)
Work is going to be looooooooooooooong today. But I have to get there early so I can do my online check in, or attempt to as I've heard it might not work, at 8.50am.
Thanks for your post Leanne, it was so nice of you. :) I am actually excited to get home and do my TR, as they really help my Disney blues, and I have so much fun doing a DLRP 4 day one that I can't wait to do a 14 day one!!! I could maybe count today as Day 0...... I think so!
Then it'll give me something to do tonight if I can't sleep! Hee hee hee!

Well, I guess this signals the end of my PTR!
We are in the travelodge in Heathrow Terminal 5. Hope I sleep well tonight so it's Disney day soon!
Thank you all for reading, and as soon as I have a link to my TR I will post it here. :)
