Hi! This is my very first trip report ever. I thought I would try it out to see how it goes, and to have it to look back on as I plan our adventure to Disney World this Sept. We were booked for Oct, but now with FREE DINING we will be going sooner. I am so excited about it. We didn't go last year because my DH wanted to take a break, he's really just cheap. :lmao: Anyway, we are all looking forward to it and we will be celebrating twenty years of marriage while we are there.
Here is the cast:
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z67/wdwmomof3/DSC01036_018_018.jpg
Here we are at Epcot two years ago. It's Mike, Lauren, Me(Carla), Michael & Lindsey.
I posted this picture somewhere else and someone said that my Dh looks like he was about to kill someone. :rotfl2: He's very sweet, he just hates to have his picture made. In fact, I only have this picture of him there. That's one thing that I have got to do this next trip.
This time we will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We are looking forward to that. We will also be on the dining plan so we are excited about that too. Once you do that, you become a little spoiled to it.
The main thing that I am working on now is saving money and watching for discount codes. This is my mission..... to find a great discount code, maybe even free dining if they extend it. (not holding breath) UPDATE: Found Free Dining!!!
Anyway, for those of you who are going in Sept, feel free to join me with your plans or whatnot. I would love some company while I wait....and wait... for Sept to roll around. :surfweb:

We are going to be driving down from Alabama. We will be staying off site our first night and checking in that Sunday, the 11th. Normally when we get there we chill for a little while and then go to DTD. It really gets us excited for the next day.
Day 1: I'm thinking that we will start at Magic Kingdom. Especially since that Monday is Columbus Day and that night Mk is having MNSSHP. I will be avoiding MK for sure that Monday. We will also be having dinner at Ohana, if I can get my ADR for that day. Back to MK for Wishes
Day 2: I will know more when the park ours are posted but as of now, our second day will be at Epcot in the morning & Hollywood Studios that night. Dinner will be at 50's Primetime Cafe.
Day3: Should be Animal Kingdom, and to Epcot for dinner at LeCellier Steakhouse. (another MNSSHP, so adjusted for that)
Day 4: Hollywood Studios and dinner at Chef Mickeys & back to a night at MK. :woohoo:
Days 5,6 & 7I am unsure of the next three days as of yet... I guess I will wait for the hours and my ADR's to make a final plan. popcorn::
A friend of mine may also be going with her two girls. She has never been before so I will have to help her plan so that should be a lot of fun. It's just so exciting. :yay:
If anyone has been there during Columbus day week and has any advice, please let me have it. :)

Call me crazy but the minute we pull out of the drive way I put my Disney CD in and crank it up.
This is the very first song on the CD and it says it all.:goodvibes

Lauren at Chef Mickeys... we fell in love with Donald Duck there. He was so very funny!

We also took Laurens best friend Shelley. They talked me into getting these suckers for them for a back rub. I never got it though. They also got the AFV t shirts at then MGM. They got to vote on funny videos. It was pretty fun.

I got one CD made today. :goodvibes I was so excited to find "Big Blue World' at iTunes. I also put "Celebrate You" on it as well. (free download at Disney site) I really like that song. It cost me 10.00 to do it though... because I had to pay my teenager to do it for me.:rotfl2: I stink when it comes to doing things like that. :upsidedow

Hi!! I am going to try to work on it a little later today. ;) I just found out this weekend that my sister & her Dh and kids may also be going. They are waiting a little later to commit. They go almost every year but he is in real estate and times have been... well, you know. Hopefully things will turn around for a lot of people who normally go.
I am starting a diet.... today!! I am going to keep track of it on here too. I need to lose about 15-20 pounds by Oct. hopefully by Summer. I have been trying to do this for a while now, but I have not stuck to it. This time I have got to do it. Today is my daughters 11th birthday & I look like I just gave birth to her. LOL

Hi! I followed you over from my trip report. Are you avoiding MNSSHP?? It "totes rocks" to quote the kids. It looks like your plans are well under way. In fact, you are much further in your planning than I am at this point. Maybe we will run into each other while we are there!

Hi!! Yes, I am going to avoid MNSSHP, mainly because of the cost for five of us to do it. I have thought about it and it sounds like so much fun, but I am planning around it for now. It looks like they will have three of them the week that we are there. That's a bit much, if you are avoiding them and great if you are planning to attend one.:rotfl2:
My biggest goal right now is to loose weight & find a discount code. :lmao:
My biggest worry, where else to eat. I know, it's a hard life right?:lmao:

Day 4: Hollywood Studios and dinner at Chef Mickeys & back to a night at MK.
Day 5: Magic Kingdom in the morning, dinner at Coral Reef and finish the day at Epcot.
Day 6:Animal Kingdom opening, then to where ever everyone wants to go. We will have dinner at 1900 Park Fare this night.
Day 7Our last full day..:sad1: Open DHS, and close MK, where we will have dinner at Crystal Palace.
Day8We are leaving today but not before we head back to MK for one last look at the World. It will be bitter sweet. We will leave after lunch. :sad2:
Now, this is the plan, however, plans always change. I still don't have the park hours yet, or the EMH. Once they come out, I will know more but for now, this sounds like a good plan for us. What do you think?

Guess what! My BFF may also be going to Disney with us, with her two girls and she needs my help. How fun is this going to be? We took her daughter with us when we went in 07, and she had a ball. Here is a picture from that trip.
Lexy and my two children, Lindsey & Michael at Epcot

My BFF went to Disney on her honeymoon years ago but she never rode a single ride. They had never been before and didn't quite know what to do, so this trip should be a blast for her and her children. :goodvibes There's nothing like a trip to Disney World. It's the very best vacation in the whole wide world. :rotfl2: As my son would say; and that's a fact!

I am also planning to get a Disney Cake delivered to us at one of our Dinners. Most likely at 1900 Park Fare. I thought it would be fun to celebrate our 20 years of magic with Cinderella & the Prince. :lovestruc Is that weird or would somewhere else be better to do this?

Hi!!
I saw some pictures on the cake thread and I also read some reviews also and from what I have read, the cakes from the Grand Floridian Bakery are good, so I thought I would get one from there. I hope it's good, for the price of the cakes they should be. Are you thinking of getting one too? I am wanting "20 Years if Magic" on it and just a simple but pretty cake that has a little detail on it to make it special. I would do a mini wedding cake but it wont be big enough for all of us. If it were just Mike & me, I would have just had that because he is not a big sweet eater like me.

It's so much fun to plan, and plan some more. It's mainly me just dreaming about the trip. I have been listening to my CD and driving the kids crazy, especially my teenager. :rotfl2: I LOVE the Big Blue World song, I found it on iTunes for 99 cents. I have defiantly got my moneys worth! :woohoo:

Not quite. We're going in August and I started last month. I just updated today. I love the Big Blue World song! My dad gave me three CDs of Disney music which I downloaded onto iTunes and made a Disney playlist. I think, one morning, my grandpa might just kill me while driving me to school.

I was thinking of getting two cakes actually. One for DH for our anniversary as a surprise and one for a friend celebrating his birthday. Maybe I need to try the Grand Floridian Bakery. We're going for a short trip in May and I don't need the cakes until September so maybe I will try a "test cake" when I go in May?

Hi!!
So you all are going in Sept? :cool1: You will have a blast. The last time that we went, it was in Sept 07 and we loved it. There was little to no wait on most all of the attractions and it was awesome. It was very hot, but I can deal with the heat. I really wish we could do it again then, but I can't pull my three kids out of school to do it, DH wont let me.
As for the planning binder, well I need one because I have a planning drawer with park maps, books, things that I always take to Disney and everything else in it. :lmao: My kids thought I was crazy when I took my park maps down to Office Max to have them laminated, but it was one of the best ideas that I have ever had. They would be have been shredded by now. :rotfl2:
Have you started a pretrip report yet? I'm really not sure what to do, I'm just rolling with the flow here and keeping up with my thoughts and plans. I am really hoping that my friend goes with her family. It will be so fun to help her plan too. Disney World is my favorite subject to talk about. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I think we have memorized Big Blue world. My son is now acting it out, it's really funny. My teenager thinks that I am a dork, especially since today I found a purse in her closet that she bought at Disney, and tossed mine to use hers. :rotfl2: Here I am a forty year old woman walking around with a Disney purse now. When my sister was at Disney this past Oct, she bought me a Tinker Bell car tag, well you could barely see Tink, it was mainly the Castle with a banner that said Walt Disney World or Where Dreams Come True, I can't remember now. I loved it though. Anyway, I went through a touch less car wash and the paint came off of the tag. I called Disney and they were going to send a new one to me, when they received the old one in the mail. Well, they sent a purple Tinker Bell tag that would look awful on my charcoal gray SUV. I called them back today and they are sending me a new tag and she told me to keep the other one. I thought that was nice. I have no idea what I am going to do with this one, but it was nice of them to do that.
Just another reason why I love Disney. :goodvibes

OK, I feel better now knowing your Mom also carries a Disney purse. :thumbsup2 Are you going to Disney anytime soon? :) My girls are getting so excited. My 16 year old daughter, Lauren, went down to Orlando last summer with a friend of hers but they didn't go to the parks, only to DTD & Typhoon Lagoon. She said it was the hardest thing that she has ever done. She said it was like putting your finger into the icing one time and never getting a bite of the cake. :rotfl2: Bless her heart, we are going to make this trip extra special for her. :wizard:

We are doing the dining plan, and I am real happy about that. I truly enjoy eating at all of the places there at the Resort. I am getting nervous about booking my ADR's. Once that it done, I can sit back and relax and just focus on the fun things.
We have never worn matching clothes before, DH wouldn't do it anyway, but I am looking for some cute things to take with us. I like the safari look for Animal Kingdom and something really cute for MK. I also need something cute for Ohana, you know, we have to fit in. :rotfl2: I think I will spend all summer looking for clothes for this one week this fall. :rotfl2:

Oh, I totatlly understand about shopping for clothes. I bought 3 t-shirts 2 weeks ago. The whole time I was looking at them I was like "These will be great for Disney. Oh, and I can probably wear them under suit coats at the office for the spring." Umm...clearly my priorities are the trip, not what to wear in the office for spring and summer! AND, I have already gotten my bag for my trip. It was supposed to only be ordered for the trip. Then that got changed to "I'll get it for myself for my birthday." Which in reality turned out I got it a month BEFORE my birthday. Now, I feel like I should get my suitcases out and pack the stuff I don't need until Disney.

:rotfl2: I know!! I'm already getting my cameras in order. I had a problem last time with my memory stick not holding enough pictures. It only holds like 300. My children have new ones that hold a lot more but they don't fit into my camera. I have got to go somewhere and find something that works better, but I don't want to spend an arm & leg.
Right now, I am planning on starting a diet. My kids have been out of school this week and we went to my mom's house. I always eat way to much while we are there. So, Monday I am starting fresh. Wish me luck!!:wizard:
Oh yea, I doubt that my friend will be going because they are having to put a new roof on her house. I also thought that my sister & her family might go down the same time, but they are planning on possibly going in Sept for the free dining. They haven't decided yet. Big bummer, because even if we don't spend much time together at all, it's just fun knowing that they are there too.

:rotfl2: I had some laminated years ago and they still look great. I remember the day that I took them in to Office Max to do it. My kids were so embarrassed, but I didn't care. What was funny was that the woman laminating them for me was planning her first trip, so I whipped out some extra maps for her. :rotfl2: My kids still say that I am a walking talking Disney advertiser. :lmao: I think that I could talk Disney 24/7.
You know you got it bad when your kids have figured out how to get me out of a bad mood. They just start talking Disney and before you know it I'm my perky self again. :thumbsup2

Good news... my BFF came over today and we talked about Disney. I think she just may make it. Her DH is going to fix the roof himself. She's lucky b/c he can do anything that needs to be done himself or knows someone who can. :rotfl2: Anyway, I think she may book it soon. I'm excited for her because she has not been in years and when she did go it was for only a day or two and they didn't see or do much, they were on their honeymoon. :lmao:
Her daughter Lexy went with us the last time that we went. She loved it, and really wants to go back.:goodvibes We watched the video from that trip today and it made me want to go back so bad. I just can't wait to get there and see that beautiful place again. It's just so amazing. :goodvibes:mickeyjum
Oh yea!! I got my new car tag in from Disney World. It's the Four Parks One World one. I LOVE it!!

We are going the same week you are Oct 9-17! I didn't even realize it was Columbus Day that Monday until I saw your report. This is our first family trip (I haven't been to MK in 31 years! but we have been to AK and TL) so I'm excited. I've been planning like mad and it's not like I don't have 6 months to plan :lmao: :lmao:. Is it just me or does everyone have a binder with lists, schedules, spreadsheets, budgets, etc?
I hope you have a great trip and I'll be watching your pre-trip to get some good tips!

Congratulations on returning to Disney!! :dance3: It's going to be a great week!! I have been planning too and trying to keep from driving everyone crazy about it.
I really need to get a binder, but right now I have everything in a planner. My DH is so sweet, and I really thing that he is getting excited about this trip, because he came in from work last night with a spreadsheet of our savings plan for the trip. :rotfl2: He NEVER does this for our Disney trips. He normally leaves everything up to me. It made me feel good that he is taking time out to do a little planning anyway.:cloud9:
Have you started a pre trip report yet? I would love to see what you have planned. :) This is so much fun, isn't it!!:woohoo:

No I haven't but I need to because now I feel like I need to be doing something plan wise but I've pretty much got it all done except getting all the money together. Your husband sounds like me I've got a savings spreadsheet to (some days I think Excel is my best friend:rolleyes:). At first everyone in my family was like "yuck Disney" and now they are "YAY DISNEY!" so that gets me even more excited!
Can you or someone else answer a question about MNSSHP? We don't plan on going to any of the parks on Thursday (lazy day to try to recoup a little) but we want to do MNSSHP that night. Do we need to add an extra day to our tickets for Thursday or will the MNSSHP get us in MK?

You will only need to buy tickets for the MNSSHP, and you can enter the Magic Kingdom at 4:00. :goodvibes
I can't hardly believe that I am doing this BUT, we may be changing our vacation to go in Sept instead of Oct, to take advantage of the free dining offer. :cool1: I am going to try to do this on Monday. I am a nervous wreck, and I am so excited too. I hope and pray that we can get it. Keep your fingers crossed for us. If I just had a dang Disney Visa, I could do it today. I think I need to get one just for these deals! :rotfl2:
I was a little worried about taking the kids out of school, but I will save so much money by doing this that it has to be worth it. I am trying to justify it. :rotfl2: Oh my goodness.... this is going to be one long weekend!! :rolleyes1

I have been busy this morning trying to re-figure everything. We will be adding a day so I have been looking at redoing all of that. My Mom & Dad will only be there for 4 days so I had to plan to see all four parks in a row in the middle of the week to spend time with them. It was kind of stressful, but I think I've got it. I just need for the hours to come out. That could change everything. :rotfl2:
One good thing is that there are only 2 MNSSPH's that week to work around. :rotfl2: I did have three to consider.

Ya know last week my son was doing a commercial and when I got there I realized my camera was dead so I used my iPhone and WOW I was super impressed with the pics. I'm sure I'll take my camera (Its a 14mp Kodak that I got from QVC for a really good price that also has video so you might check out QVC) but now I know I'll have my phone as back up and it's by far alot easier to carry around.

I would LOVE to have an iPhone. My two girls have the iTouch and I love them. I made the mistake of getting my son a Nano instead of a touch and they fight all of the time about it. Dh wants his nano so maybe Santa will bring him an itouch for Christmas. :cool1: It's always something. :rotfl2:
UPDATE!!!!
I booked our trip for Sept 19th-27th today. I am still praying for free dining on Monday. :worship: I also booked my parents trip. My Dh is a little worried about that part, but it will be fine. They are only going to be there four days and we will only spend the evenings those days with them, for dinner & fireworks and such. We are wide open during the day, and they walk slow so we can't do that. I feel kind of bad but it will be fine. ;) right?:flower3:
I still don't know about my friend yet.... she really wants to go but she is not sure yet. I'm thinking that she wont make it.
Gotta go clean my sons room. We are having a yard sale next weekend so I have got to find more items to put in to sale. Just another way to get some Disney money!! :rotfl2:

Thank you!! I was looking forward to meeting you too. It's such a fun place to be.
We did have a little snag while booking. I need a room for five and the Alligator Bayou section is the only one that I could get. My mom wants to be at Magnolia Terrace building 85, which is very close to a bus stop. So, I booked her for that and us for AB. We will just walk over and see them. The rooms in her section look much nicer, but what do you do? I could have put one of my children into her room, but if they had to cancel for any reason, I would be in trouble.
I am a little worried about the free dining. I read that someone is already having trouble getting it for Sept at Pop. I hope that there is something left for us on Monday. I am stressing a little here. :sad2: They are offering it for several more months, so you would THINK that they would have plenty of rooms available, right? :rolleyes1

I got free dining!!!!! :cool1::woohoo::dance3: I am so excited. I was up at 4:55 this morning and on the boards. Some one here posted the link around 5:20 and I went online before they opened and booked a new trip with free dining. Then I was on the phone with Disney at 6:00 to change my mom & dad's over to free dining. They ended up adding free dining to my existing reservation and canceling the one that I booked online. I was just covering myself just in case.:thumbsup2
So.... now it's official, and I saved 1367.44. That's a lot of money. It's time to celebrate!!!:dance3:
My mom & dad saved 319.92 on the four days that they will be there. My sister & her DH saved over 900.00 and my BFF saved 720.00. We are all happy campers today!!:yay::yay::yay:

So it's the next day and I sure did sleep good last night. :cloud9: I went to WalMart this morning to pick up a few things and I bought a binder. I am going to decorate it and kind of scrap book the Disney trip for my mom, like her planner. My sister is going the week before us so she will get some park maps for it. I am planning all of their meals and everything else so I thought it would be neat to have something like that. We will be celebrating her Birthday while we are there, at O'hana. I found some cute stickers for that. :goodvibes Anyway, It will give me something to do to stay busy & have fun at the same time.
If anyone has done this and have any ideas to share with me, please do. :)

That's awesome! So glad you all got it! I wish we could go during free dining but I'm one of "those moms" that won't take my kids out of school. Here in KY you only get 9 days with a parent note until you have to go to court so it's more protecting my butt than anything else.

You're leaving Disney on my birthday! boooo! :) Our trips only overlap by a day...I'm going the 26th to the 3rd.
As for your camera...all you have to do is buy an extra memory card/memory stick for it. I usually carry around 2 of them with me when I'm away. They're fairly cheap nowadays. I've seen 4GB ones for $20! That'll hold a LOT more photos than 300!

I know what you mean. I was a little worried about taking them out but they get 5 parent notes per semester so they should be fine. Plus, if they are ever sick I take them to the DR. so it shouldn't be a big deal. It is something to consider though. I just couldn't pass up saving 1364.00.

I am getting more and more excited every day. I have done good on my diet so far. I lost four pounds last week but I have stayed the same this week, even working out and watching what I eat. We are going to be driving down from Alabama. We will be staying off site our first night and checking in that Sunday, the 11th. Normally when we get there we chill for a little while and then go to DTD. It really gets us excited for the next day.
Since you getting the free dining promotion, would it be cheaper or comparable to get into POR on Saturday? You would pay the $150 or so for the room and get an extra day of free dining for your family... minus the cost of the off site room and food you would have paid OOP.:confused3

HI! I added that Saturday because of getting the free dining, but now we will drive down sometime that Friday afternoon. I don't think that we will make it all of the way to Orlando, but possibly to Ocala. We can't leave Alabama until the kids get out of school, but I may check them out around 2:00 or so. This way we can be most of the way there and just get up early Saturday and be there to check in by 7:30 or 8:00 and hopefully hit the park before it opens. I am all about being there before the park opens. :rotfl2: I get upset if we are late.

Well, I spent half of the day getting ready for the yard sale and the other half in the Dr's office with my son. His tummy was hurting and after an xray, blood & a urine sample we were told that he was FOS. (full of sxxt):lmao: In other words, he hasn't been to the bathroom in several days so his tummy hurt. Geez. I wish he had told me that, but I should have asked I guess. :rotfl2:Oh well, she gave him something that should make him feel better soon. It's Monday and the kids are back in school. Wow, what a weekend. We had the yard sale and I made 365.00, plus my mom made 50.00 & my friend made 150.00. Over all, we had a great turnout. :thumbsup2 It was one of the easiest yard sales that I have ever had. We sat up early and we were done by noon.
At the end when we were cleaning up, a lady came by and she said that they were having a yard sale in a couple of weeks for the cancer society so I donated most of what was left to her so I didn't have to haul it off to Goodwill. It was great. :goodvibes
So I have started on my Mom's Disney book for her birthday. My stepdad is giving her a surprise trip, but I am planning everything for him. So I bought a white binder that you can slip paper into on the front. I sort of scrapbooked a sheet for the front, the side & back are just in the same paper. I think it turned out cute. It's simple but cute. Inside I am putting together all of her information that she will need. I have it in sections. I did did this on word, but I have not printed it yet. I'll have to wait until we get everything confirmed, like the ADR times & such. I can't wait for her to see it.
I didn't go to the gym today. :headache:I'll start back in the morning. I am also going to start going to the tanning bed tomorrow. I am so white. Give me a wig & a dress and I could pass as Snow White. :rotfl2:

I feel like I am at a stand still until June and the park hours come out. :worship::rotfl2: I have been having the worst time trying to plan out our days. It's hard because my BFF is not going to have hopper passes and I would like to spend the "day" with them. I am also trying to get a plan for her too so that she has something to go by, not that she has to do it or anything, just a guide. I don't think that she is to concerned about it so it should be fine.
In my eight days at Disney, I only have us going to Animal Kingdom once. Is that crazy? I really feel like it is better this way, but at the same time, I am concerned. The only thing that they would want to go back & do would be Everest, and possibly the Nemo Musical again. I'll just play that by ear I guess. :rolleyes1

SATURDAY - Epcot Biergarten Dinner
SUNDAY - Disney Hollywood Studios 50's Prime Time Lunch
MONDAY - Epcot Cape May Café Dinner
TUESDAY - Going to Beach Captain Cook's Breakfast for Tonga Toast
WEDNESDAY - Magic Kingdom Crystal Palace Character Dinner
THURSDAY -Animal Kingdom Donalds Tusker House Breakfast
FRIDAY - Magic Kingdom O'hana Dinner
All other meals will be counterservice or at the house
This sounds great! You are eating at a few places that we have never tried, like Cape May & Tusker House. I have never had the Tonga Toast either but I have heard that it is wonderful. This will be our first trip to 'Ohana and I can't wait!!:yay:
I didn't plan any breakfast ADR's because my kids just don't eat breakfast foods like they should. We normally just grab a poptart or something in the room & eat lunch around 11:00 each day.
I just felt the need to post my plan too :)
9/7 mon – Arrive – Lunch at Pepper Market - 8:30 Dinner at Narcoossee’s
9/8 tues - MK – 11:00 Lunch at Counter Service – 8:00 Dinner at WCC
9/9 wed –Take a cab to TTC at 7:30 for RPDE – Take Monorail to Kona for 11 Breakfast OOP – Take Bus from Polynesian to DHS – Dinner Counter Service
9/10 thurs –12:00 Lunch at Counter Service 8:00 Dinner at Maya
9/11 fri – Animal Kingdom to Boma at 4:30 to MK – MNSSHP at 7pm
9/12 sat – Epcot – Early Lunch at Counter Service - Late Dinner at Coral Reef
9/13 sun – Counter Service at Pepper Market - Leave
What do you guys think? My definite restaurants are Narcoosee's, Coral Reef, Wcc, & Boma. I also have never been to MNSSHP, so I don't really know the tricks to this one.
I arranged my days based on the LEAST crowded and avoiding EMH. Since this is FH's first trip as an adult, I want to make it relaxing... so we can come back in the future ;)
I think that your plans sound great! I normally try to avoid EMH's too because we got trapped in this once at HS and it was awful. With my friend not having hoppers, I am not sure what to do. I want her to be able to see & do as much as she can, so I have got to talk to her about it. We are going to sit down next week and try to figure out what she wants to do.
We have never been to MNSSHP either, but it looks like a lot of fun. I would do it if it wasn't so much more money for all of us. I'm still on the fence about it. Are you going to dress up too? I have seen that a lot of the parents do dress up. :thumbsup2
We love the Coral Reef and WCC, but I have not tried the other places yet. Have you ever been to LeCellier at Epcot? I hear that it is wonderful, so we are trying it along with 'Ohana for the first time. I can't wait. :woohoo:
It's so much fun to plan!!:dance3:

I'm on the fence about MNSSHP too. I would love to go but I wonder how my little one would do with being up so late then getting up so early in the morning and the price is causing me to think twice too. I think we might wait a few years to do it. I have never been to any TS rest. only counterservice so I'm totally looking forward to trying all the different places. I might end up changing Biergarten for Garden Grill just because I don't know how everyone else will like it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE German food but everyone else in my family has their taste buds on idle so we will see. I would love to try LeCellier but maybe next year. I think I'm more about the food than I am the attractions!

I understand why you would think twice about MNSSHP, with a little one. Even with my kids being older, I'm still not sure. If I did it, they would have to rest in the afternoon & possibly sleep in the next morning. See, when I am at Disney, I hate to sleep in. I am all about getting up and getting started. If I am not at the park when they open, I feel like I have messed the whole day up. :rotfl2: On the other hand, it does look like a lot of fun. :confused3
As far as eating at the TS places at Disney, it is amazing. I remember the first time that we did this when we did the dining plan for the first time. It was the very best vacation that I can remember. We were totally immersed in Disney 24/7. That spoiled me too. I don't think that I could go back because it's just not the same. We can eat at those places out side of the park anytime.
UPDATE:
I finally found the last place to eat. I was on the fence about one night, and now we will be dining at KONA Cafe. I am real excited. I have read a lot of reviews about it and it sounds great. I showed my DH the menu and he liked what he saw. I also showed him the menu for Le Cellier and he said... uh. I reassured him that it would be good. (Let us pray) :rotfl2: I have to keep him happy so that he will take us back. :lmao:
Well, two months from today we will be in Gatlinburg for a week. :woohoo: The important thing is that we will be two weeks closer to going to Disney! :rotfl2:
Have a GREAT day!!:thumbsup2

Thats what I am going to order!!:cool1: It just sounds soooo good. :) I am also going to try a Lupa Lupa at Ohana, and I may possibly get another one there, if I can. ;) I wish I could find the recipe to make one.
I thought about watching wishes from the beach one of these nights, but I forgot that they are having the MNSSHP. I wonder if they would pipe in the music from the firework show then? :confused3 Our dinner may or maynot fall on one of those days, I was just wondering.
I hate waiting until June for the park ours & extra magic hours to some out.

So it's been a while since I have posted. I have not stopped planning but I am feeling a little overwhelmed. First of all, I am a planner so I want ever little detail in writing right. Well, it's a little hard when you are planning for other people too. I was just informed by my step dad that they will be flying instead of driving. Now I need to add a day onto their trip. I still don't know if my friend will make it. We are planning like she will but who knows. I think her DH will not be joining her so she is looking for someone, a family member, to join her at some point to cover some of the cost of her room. Her sister may some & I don't know her very well but no big deal, it's her vacation.
She and I need to get together soon and pick our ADR's and everything. :scared1: June is right around the corner, and that's when we make our ADR's. It's also going to be a very busy month here. We have a trip planned to Gatlinburg, my DD is going to camp for a few days & my son will be spending time in Atlanta the same week with my in-laws. Then we have a trip planned to go to Huntsville to the space center too. It's great though, June will fly by!! July should be just as busy and then School starts in August. WOW! I better get packed now for Disney!:rotfl2:
I have a busy week ahead. I have got to get our pool ready to open. :sad2: I hate doing it, but once everything is up and going we have a blast. :woohoo: I just pray that we don't have any problems with it this year, they can be a pain. :rolleyes1

OK... Breath in and out.... it's been a bad weekend. My Step dad has been falling lately, a lot. :sick:He said that his feet get messed up and he falls, but he is really blacking out. Well, this past weekend while I was there, he stepped out back with the kids and he fell, hard. We got him up and let him rest in a chair for a minute and he got up and the fell again. It was the weirdest thing, he fell straight back like a domino. He was unresponsive for a good few minutes and we called 911 immediately. He was rushed to the hospital and then rushed to a bigger hospital, UAB in Birmingham. He had a small bleed on his brain from the fall, but it has stopped bleeding. They ran test and we still don't know what is making him black out and fall like he is doing. :sad2:
I'm worried, because he may not be better for the Disney Trip with my Mom in Sept. There is no way that I would want to risk him doing that at Disney. I hope and pray that they can find out what his problem is. They are thinking that it is some kind of blockage in his arteries. They are running more test now so we should know something soon. Say a prayer for him if you can, he needs all of the help that he can get.
As for Disney, all of my plans are still on the table but I am patiently waiting for June for the park hours to be released. It's taking forever. :surfweb:
Going to bed now... I have been sleeping at the hospital all weekend so I am ready to get back into my own bed. :woohoo:

Thank you so much!! He is still in the hospital in Birmingham and they still have no clue as to what is going on with him. They ran some more test today, one on his heart and another one on the motor function area at the base of his brain. Hopefully they can find out what it is that is causing him to black out and fall. He is 74 years old, but he is in great shape. He works out and everything so who knows. I was worried about my mom and her ankle at Disney, now I am more worried about him, if they still go. :sad2:
Something new to tell, my sister and her son are headed to Washington DC on a field trip with his school. They left this morning on a 17 hour bus ride, and they will be there for a week. I hope that they have a great time. It should be a fun trip for them. :goodvibes
Dang!! June will never get here! I am ready for our park ours to be posted so I can line everything up. I call for our ADR's on June 21st. :woohoo:

I'm getting closer... Mickey & Minnie are almost on Space Ship Earth on my ticker!! :rotfl2:
So today I was looking at doing the EMH's for the mornings that we are there. I normally skip them but I am thinking with the heat in Sept and all, it mights be a good idea. So.... I have been changing things around, again.
We still have no news on my Stepdad. He is still in the hospital. If he is not better bu August, they will not be going. :( Even still, if they do go I will insist on them renting an electric chair thing.
School will be out in two weeks here so I am getting ready for that! I am so glad to get a break. :woohoo: Other than that, nothing else is going on. :surfweb: Just reading up on some Disney info. It's so much fun. :cloud9:

UPDATE:
Bad news- My stepdad is still not any better but he is at home. They will not be going to Disney World now unless he turns a 180, which doesn't look possible.
GOODNEWS- My friend and her two girls are going!!! She has had it booked all along but was unsure until recently. It's going to be so much fun!!
Something new..... My sisters husband may be getting a job out of state in NABRASKA! :sad2:This will move them more than 15 hours away from us. I know it would be a great opportunity for them but NABRASKA! It's in GODS hands now. As much as I want him to get this job, I hate to see them move so far away. :scared:

Thank you!! He is doing a little better and they have not cancelled the trip as of yet but I have told her that if he goes, he has got to get one of those powered wheelchairs. Who knows what will happen but we shall see I guess.
I don't think we will be doing MNSSHP. If we do it will be a last minute thing. My friend said that they wont do it so I would hate to go without them. Besides, that would mean buying costumes and all of that so it would get expensive.
I am getting more and more excited. I have GOT to lose weight before we go. My sister has done sooooo good. She looks great. My friend who is going with us weighs about what I do now so we are going to try to do this together. I think I am going to try to just eat Lean Cuisines this week for lunch & dinner with no snacks. Let's see how this works. I need to lose about 15-20 pounds. I'm at 140 now. :scared1: I will be busy getting our pool open this week so that should help keep my mind off of it.
I think we have like 117 more days!!! :cool1:

OK, so I was up late last night trying to rethink our trip. I am freaking out because of me stepdads health and they are still planning on going. They said that they can cancel later if he is not better. This is great except for our ADR's. I don't want to mess anything up and now I am starting to freak!
OK, and advice please!!!!! My BFF says that they are for sure going which is GREAT!! However, she has not done the first thing to help me plan and I am getting worried about that too. She is not sure if they are going to get the hopper passes or not, we do, and this is effecting me being able to plan our ADR's. Am I crazy for stressing so much? She is supposed to let me know this coming week.
I am a huge planner and this is driving me nutts!!

This has been a great week for us. My DH just got a promotion at work and we are super excited and I am very proud of him. Anyway, he called me today and asked me what our Disney dates were and I froze. I could tell something was wrong by the tone in his voice. I told him the dates and he said that it was the week of his training out of state. Oh crap! Well I called Disney to see if we could move our dates up by a week and they did with no trouble. I also had to change my Mom's and my friend called to change hers as well. They were very helpful. :goodvibes I was so afraid that we would lose our free dining, but we didn't thank goodness. So now, the day we get home, he leaves for Atlanta for a week. It's going to be crazy.
The funny thing is that when I told the kids, they ran to the count down chart and took off eight days. They were so excited. :rotfl2:
Now, if those darn park hours would just be posted I could really have some fun!:rolleyes1

THANK YOU!! I found then and I have been working on this all morning. I will post what I have planned and please advise if you see anything that I should do another way.
Sat Sept 12th - Magic Kingdom all day (9-10pm) S @9 W@10 Dinner at Chef Mickeys around 6 or 7.
Sun. 13th - Open HS hop to MK for emh till 11pm. Dinner @ Crystal Palace. W@8
Mon 14th - (mom arrives) 8:00 @ AK or 9:00 @ Epcot (depends on ADR)
Tues 15th- (could flip with above) 8:00 @ Epcot or 9:00 @ AK Dinner @ Kona Cafe. ***these two days will all depend on our ADR for Le Cellier.
Wed. 16th- Open HS / Dinner @ 'Ohana, then to DTD for some shopping.
Thurs. 17th- early EMH at MK, opens @ 8:00, Dinner @ LeCellier or Coral Reef. Watch Illuminations
Fri 18th- (mom leaves) anything goes day. Lunch at 50's Prime time???, close Epcot open till 11:00pm
Sat 19th- MK all day 9-9pm, Dinner @ 1900 Park Fare.
The only thing that I am working with is ADR's at Le Cellier and also I could flip flop my 1900 Park Fare with Chef Mickeys. Not sure what to do about that.
I also can't seem to fit Fantasmic in anywhere. It looks like it will be on Sunday @ 8:30, which is also EMH's @ Magic Kingdom which would be more fun for the kids. Then it will be held again on Friday @ 8:00 Which is EMH's at Epcot. We may just play this as it comes and with what everyone wants to do. I am leaning toward the Friday night show since we will have lunch/dinner there anyway.
What do you think?

My DH is so sweet. This morning I walked into the kitchen and picked up my grocery list. It was on a small piece of paper with very few items on it. DH had added a couple of things and told me to call him to get the brand of coffee that he wanted. So a little while later I called him and we chatted for a while. I didn't want to bring up adding the day to Disney again, I thought I would let him do it first, but it was on my mind. Anyway, after talking for a few minutes he said "You haven't looked at the back of the list have you?". Of course I had not, so I flipped it over and it said "Go ahead and add another day to Disney". I was so excited. :cool1:I honestly do believe that it will be so much easier than changing hotels the next morning after we arrive. We will be getting there earlier that we thought too so it will be great. I called Disney and everything is set.
So now..... I need another place to eat for that Friday night. I am thinking about the Garden Grill. Any thoughts? We will be at Epcot, and after an 8 hour drive, I want to keep it low keyed and easy to get to.
This has been a great day!! Only 5 more days until I can make our ADR's!!!!! :woohoo:

I have been so frustrated because I have been having trouble with my internet connection. Bell South has been here three times and can't find out what the problem is. Don't they realize that I'm planning a Disney trip here?!:lmao: Anyway, hopefully we will get it resolved soon.
My DD got her car and is so happy. She is making me a nervous wreck though. I think that my hair is starting to fall out. :rotfl2: She still only has her permit, but she will be getting her license a week before school starts so we have been driving around for the past two days. This is by far the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life. :scared:
About Disney, I have been busy looking at different counter service places to eat. I would like to try a few new ones this time. There is one that I am looking at called Sunshine Seasons located at Epcot. It looks pretty good. Anyway, I have been looking at a lot of them to try to get the most bang for our buck, even if it is free. :woohoo:
We are headed to Gatlinburg, TN this Friday and we are excited. It's not like going to Disney excited, but it will still be fun. The kids are wanting to go to Dollywood & do the Nascar thing up there so it should be fun. We haven't been in the summer to many times so the change will be nice. We go every Christmas though, and we love it.
Off to read more about Disney!! See Ya!

I'm back! We had a great time in Gatlinburg. Dollywood was fun and we ate at some great places during our stay but now it's time to get focused on all things Disney. I almost can't believe how fast time is going by. I have got to get serious about loosing weight and getting into shape. We did a lot of walking at Dollywood, but it's nothing like Disney so I have got to get going.
UPDATE: I added a day to my Mom & Dad's reservation so they are excited. My Stepdad finally broke down and told my mom about the trip. He is still struggling with his health but there is hope. The Dr's are running a new test on Friday to check for something new and we are fairly certain they will find something. Say a prayer for us. We just need them to find out what it is and get him better before Sept. If not he will need to be in a wheelchair.
My computer has been down for a while now. The AT&T guy came out today to fix it and he saw my Disney stuff on my desk. He said that they were also going in Sept. It was nice to talk Disney with someone. He wasn't sure if they had free dining or not so I told him about it and wrote down a few websites, including this one, for his wife. He seemed to appreciate it.:rotfl2:He was very nice and I actually think that he fixed my computer, knock on wood.
Well, I'm off again!!:laundy:

I'm glad y'all had a good time in Gatlinburg. We have never been to Dollywood. We went to Six Flags in New Orleans in 2003 and after having been to Disney it just wasn't the same. We didn't go back.
Your ADRs look great. I have to make my decision by Saturday because I am going to set my alarm clock for 5:45am Sunday so I can be on line at 6......:lmao:.

Did you decide to order a cake? We ordered one for Dallas(my 10 yo) in May and had it delivered to Sci Fi. It was $85 but it was a fantastic cake.

I ordered chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream icing and white chocolate filling. The Mickey on top is White chocolate and the chef painted it.
Last year we ordered a cake at The Plaza and it was horrible.

I think we paid $30 for it.

I'm going to pop in and see how your ADR's went. I hope that you got everything that you were wanting. :) We have been to several Six Flags parks and we are just not that fond of them. When we lived in Lexington KY, we went to the one in Louisville and it was just OK. We have been to the one in Atlanta since I was a kid, growing up in AL, and living there now my kids go once or twice a year, but I hate it. It's just not Disney. :lmao:
As for our trip, I am getting so excited now, we are getting so much closer. I have started a packing list, mainly of things that I need to go purchase for the trip. I bought a few things at WalMart yesterday and it was exciting. I put them in my "Disney Drawer" lol.
My DH will be working out of town for three months starting in Aug and it's going to be strange. I am so used to him being home every night. :sad1: Oh well, it's going to be fine, and Disney will be in Sept so we will be together then. He will also be home every weekend and he will only be an hour away during the week so it's not to bad. I'm still gonna miss him.
Well, the kids want to swim again so I'm out of here again. Having a pool is nice, but in the summer I can't get anything done. :rotfl:

That chocolate cake looks wonderful!! MY DH's favorite flavor is chocolate so I will definitely get chocolate cake, but I am thinking white iceing with some kind of flowers or something since it's our anniversary. I can't decide. :headache: It's a tough problem isn't it. :lmao:

I am also planning to get a Disney Cake delivered to us at one of our Dinners. Most likely at 1900 Park Fare. I thought it would be fun to celebrate our 20 years of magic with Cinderella & the Prince. :lovestruc Is that weird or would somewhere else be better to do this?
i love your trip report so far:) so have a beautiful family!! my DH and I are going to disney sept 10-20th-- and we will also be celebrating our 5 year anniversary and i am curious about the cake thing-- how do you go about ordering the cake? and can you get it delivered anywhere i am curious about this i wanted to do this for DH for a little suprise-- and get a small version of our wedding cake made:)

How fun!! Congratulations on five years too. :goodvibes This whole cake thing is new to me, but I have been reading the cake thread on the restaurants board. They have all kinds of information on there and if you have any questions, like me, they know all about it including the prices and such. I do know that they have a mini wedding cake that you can get and it's 25.00. When I say mini, that's what it is. :rotfl2: It's still really pretty though.
Ready for an update? My step dad is doing much better this week. He has his esophagus stretched and is has helped him a lot. I hope that he continues to improve. I think that my sister and I have convinced then to rent the electric chairs for the week. My mom needs one for her ankle problem. She is going to have surgery on it after the trip. He needs one because of his recent problems. Anyway, it will be great for them and us too, because I won't have to worry about them so much.
We are down to under 70 days till out trip. I can't believe it. Things have been going so well that I am starting to worry that something is bound to happen to mess everything up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying everyday. :thumbsup2
I have naturally curly hair and I have been straightening it for years but I am worried about all of the heat and humidity in Florida. So, I bought some hair gel and I have been playing around with it and wearing it curly. Oh my, what a change. It has been so easy, but my DH hates it. :rotfl: He wont say it, but I can just tell. If anyone has advice on how to keep curly hair straight in high humidity, please let me know. Otherwise, I'm going curly! :lmao:
I'm counting down the days until August 3rd. That's when DH leaves for his work detail. It's gonna be sad to see him go but he is doing this for all of us and I'm proud of him. I have GOT to focus on getting this weight off. I'm starting tomorrow, for the 100th time. :lmao: Anyone want to join me?
That's all that I've got for now. Have a magical night!!:wizard:

I was reading on the family board about doing the BBB hairstyle's yourself. I have been debating weather or not to keep our appointment because of the expense of it. My Daughter, Lindsey, is 11 years old and a little mature for that sort of that but we were going to give it a try. Well, I went to the store today to pick up a few items that I needed to try it at home and I sat her down and started to practice. I could not believe how well it turned out the very first time. She and I were so excited. She really didn't want to pay that kind of money, using her spending money, and I have got to keep things even with the other two so being able to do it ourselves worked out great. :thumbsup2 I called a few minutes ago and canceled the appointment that we had. princess:
I picked up a few more things for the trip today. We are something like 66 days away from leaving. It just does not seem real yet. I have got to pay the vacation off soon so I guess after that it will seem more real to me. :cloud9:

My step dad decided that they are going to cancel their trip because of his health problems. Although he has been a little better, he has good days & bad and they feel like it would be best to wait on the trip. So, I have got to call & cancel it for them. It's sad, but in a way I am a little relieved. I know how it has been for my mom and I am sad that she will not be there, but it would be stressful with him. I told her that when he was better, we would go back.
The good news is that I think that we will all be going to Gatlinburg in the Fall for Thanksgiving. This will be less stressful for them and for us too. It will be a much more relaxing trip for them as well. Plus, it will give everyone something else to look forward to. :)
Not to be Debbie Downer, but I watched the video about Austin today. He was the young man killed in the monorail accident. The video was from someone who had a recent trip to Disney and he was the driver for them. He seemed like such a nice young man. I hate it so bad that this happened to him. He looked like he really loved his job and he was so sweet to her grandchild, as well as to them. He really made the trip special for them. My heart goes out to his family and friends as well as to everyone at Disney. It's tough going through a loss like that.

So we are down to 63 days until our 20 Years of Magic trip and I am getting so excited. It almost feels unreal in a way and it's getting closer and closer. I am about to pay our trip off in the next week or two so once that is done, it will seem real. I really can't wait to get our vacation packet in the mail. :goodvibes
I made a change to or ADR for the night that we arrive. It was set for 5:00 but we could possibly be pushing it so I changed it to 8:15pm. This way we can get there after driving from Atlanta, check in and rest for a little while at our resort before heading to dinner. We could also go to Epcot before hand if we have time and catch the monorail to the TTC and then to Chef Mickeys. We will play it by ear and just see how everyone is feeling that night.
Well, I'm off to cook dinner. See ya!

62 more days to go!!
We have been busy this weekend trying to figure out how this trip is going to get started. DH will be in B'ham until that Thursday and we will be at home. Our plan is for him to drive from B'ham to Atlanta and we will meet him there. He has got to leave his car at my inlaws because he will be in meetings in Atlanta the week we come home. This should work, I hope. :worship:
I have GOT to go shopping soon. My kids need new clothes for school and for Disney. My DH is down to two pair of jeans and I can't fit into any of my clothes from last year. I really need to lose about 10 pounds quick. I have been putting it off and not trying for almost a year now and it's time. I am going to really focus on this starting tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Another day passes and I am wanting to go shopping to get some things for our trip, but school is about to start and the kids need everything so that will come first. I have made a list of the things that I need and want. Once I get them into school it will be so easy to take off and go shopping. I'm looking forward to that too!
It's getting closer!!:thumbsup2

That's funny that you mentioned the money tree because we were just talking about that today, and wishing that we had one. :lmao: Congratulations on your up coming wedding!! That's so exciting. :goodvibes Are you having a Disney Wedding? Oh how I wish I could go back in time and redo my wedding. I would have it at Disney World and then take a Disney cruise. I'm dreaming here. When we first got married we were flat broke and living off of love. :rotfl2: It's been 20 years now, we will be celebrating our Anniversary at Disney, and it's been great. I wish you and your new hubby the very best life has to offer. :wizard:
52 more days!!!!:cool1:
I have bought two outfits for me for our trip. I still need more things but I am still trying to lose weight, OK, I started over again today but hopefully I can stick to it. I need to loose 10 pounds, 15 if I'm lucky and I will be set. :thumbsup2
Anyone want to join me in trying to lose weight? I could use the extra company. :) We could help each other.... any takers? Do I even have any readers? lol I'm really not so good at this trip report thing. :upsidedow

46 More Days!!!
I am getting so excited! I called Disney this morning to check one more time to see if there was an opening for Le Cellier for the 14th for dinner. The CM asked me how many times I have called to try to get it and I told her about 5 or 6 times. She said "well, today is your lucky day!". I was thrilled. Although I had an ADR for lunch, I really wanted dinner. So I canceled my lunch and added the one for dinner. :cool1:
My daughter, Lauren, who is 16 years old is very talented with writing poems and stories and such. She has always had a way with words, from the time that she started to talk. Anyway, I have given her a project for me. I asked her to write a poem about how you feel while you are at Disney World. I'll post it when she gets it done. :goodvibes

Well, today was the day. DH left this afternoon to head out for his new job promotion. :sad1: & :woohoo: He will be out of town during the week and home on the weekends for the next three months. It's gonna be weird. I teared up as he was hugging everyone goodbye. He was reassuring me that this is a good thing, but it's still going to be hard. Thank goodness our trip to Disney falls in that time so we will have the week together then. My Daddy traveled a lot when I was young so I am kind of used to it, but this is different. DH is normally always home with a business trip here and there. I keep telling myself that this is going to be fine. I will be busy with the kids so hopefully time will fly by.

We are excited. He has been in Birmingham all week and just got home tonight. He had a great week. I used to be a big chicken but with the alarm system, I feel pretty safe. I'm not far from the police dept. so that helps too.
The kids, mainly my son, have been testing me this week. My 16 year old got her drivers license this week too and my 11 year old HATES her new classes, because she has no friends in their. I need a break! :rotfl2: They start school this Monday so things should be good here. They do well on a schedule.
Definitely a big congrats to him on the promotion. I know the traveling and being away is hard but it'll all work out and be worth it in the end! :)
Thank you! He keeps telling me that this is a great thing and all of that. I know that it is, but it's still going to be a challenge. I'm just glad that we have this trip coming up to give me something to focus on. After the trip, I will start shopping for Christmas, did I just say that?:scared1: Anyway, it's my favorite holiday so preparing for that will also help the time go by faster.
As promised
I have been after Lauren to write a poem about Disney World for me. She finally did it tonight, and while she said that she rushed through it, I still loved it.
World
You can't help to become anxious as the days slowly pass.
You can't help but get excited when you're beneath that gate at last.
You can't help that you're walking in such a fast pace.
And you can't help the fact that this smile will not come off your face.
You've waited so long, and yes, you're finally here.
When you walk around that corner it's hard not to shed a tear.
You are in the World standing before that castle again.
And you can feel in your heart that the magic is about to begin.
This is a place for both the young and the old.
Stand back and let all of the wonders unfold.
It's beautiful here, as well as peaceful, calm, yet wild.
Exploring each and every corner, you'll unleash your inner child.
Going all day long, the only place you're legs won't begin to hurt.
Standing with the people you love at night to watch the fireworks.
No doubt you'll meet some characters here, I really love them all.
Or maybe go for a boat ride that'll make you realize the world's actually small.
You've never been to a place so truly amazing before.
And being there with your family makes you love it that much more.

Hello, "me" (I still don't know your name!!) :rolleyes1
Sorry to hear about mom & stepdad not making it this time... but it sounds like they made the right decision. Sending positive thoughts for his full recovery! :goodvibes
Back to school is always a stressfull transition time for the entire family... and we moms always seem to catch a lot of extra grief from the kids. Hang in there, things will even out soon!

I'm so sorry, my name is Carla. :rotfl2:
I'm OK with them not going now. I had rather them go when all is well. He is better but still not 100% yet.
I went back to school shopping for supplies. :scared1: Man, it's expensive. I keep thinking that this is money I could be using for Disney. :rolleyes1 Oh well, it will be worth it. I just hope that the kids do good in school this year. So far I really do like their teachers.
Lindsey, my 11 year old, HATES her new class. She doesn't know anyone in there and is head strong on getting moved into a different class. I guess I will go Monday and talk to someone but I doubt that they do anything. She just doesn't deal with change very well and will shut down on me so I worry. We had a time in Kindergarten, and found out that she was having anxiety attacks. It's something all of the time. :upsidedow
We are down to just over 30 days until Disney. I got my travel pack in the mail. I do like how they are doing that now. The little booklet is easier to keep up with instead of the loose vouchers. I just wish that they would give you something that you would actually use. Oh well, I am excited anyway. I love the new luggage tags. They seem like they will hold up better than the old ones.
Lindsey and I will be going to see the Jonas Brothers this weekend with my sister and her little girl. The girls are so excited. We are talking them to the Cheesecake Factory before the concert so they are excited about that too. It should be fun, but I am taking headache medicine before I get there. :lmao:
Well, I'm off to clean the house. It's never ending. :headache::rotfl2:

I live in North Ga. and our schools started here last week. It seems they don't even have a summer break anymore. Anyway I agree about the school supplies and the expense. I wish it was just pencil and paper they needed. My son had to have markers, colored pencils and glue sticks!! :confused3Are you kidding me he is in the 9th grade!! I am enjoying your report. I'm dreading the school supply-shopping, too. Toilet paper is not on my list, but when they were in elementary school, every family had to send in a box of Kleenex for the class! I remember thinking that was a bit strange... not exactly what you consider "school supplies!"
(Hopefully the kids actually used them!!) :rotfl:

Well, today I talked to my BFF who is going with us to Disney. She seems to be getting more excited but she doesn't show it like I do. Anyway, she is really wanting her DH to go but at dinner the other night he said that he didn't see it happening. I think that he doesn't want to go and she thinks the same thing. It really makes her mad because she thinks that he should want to go to see the girls on their first trip. She is wanting him to ride down with them and fly back after a few days and let them finish the vacation without him.
I have told her not to force him into it because there is nothing worse than to be somewhere with someone who you know doesn't want to be there. So I guess he has about three more weeks to decide. I would bet money that he stays at home.
I ordered some Disney Maryjane crocs and they should be delivered today.:thumbsup2 I can't wait to get them. They looked so cute. I still need to find some shorts and a few tops for the trip. I had hoped to loose weight before we left but that's not happening. I haven't really tried but I can't get motivated. I'm not sure what will get me motivated if going to Disney wont. :rotfl: Anyway, I'm going to go and enjoy my fat self. :lmao:

I have been so busy lately, I thought my trip report was lost.:rotfl2: Anyway, we are more excited than ever. I actually started packing some items today. Mainly medicine, sunscreen, ponchos and things like that. I have my packing list and I have marked off several items. It's so exciting!!:woohoo:
I have taken the dog to the vet had got her shots all up to date. I have a list a mile long of things to get done in the next two weeks. My sister and her family are leaving on the 4th headed down to Disney so that will make the time fly by even faster. :yay: I'll be chatting with her off and on while they are there. I can't wait.
We are working out last minute travel plans. DH will be in B'Ham and meeting us in Atlanta. My BFF will also follow me to Atlanta so that she and her kids can follow us to Orlando. Her DH is, as of this moment, not going to Disney. She is NOT happy about it but he doesn't want to go. What do you do? Anyway, we will have a great time without him. My DH just rolls with the flow and is easy to please so it will be great.
OMG, I took my DD Lindsey, 11, to see the Jonas Brothers last Sunday night in B'ham and it was a blast. They put on a great show. I don't even complain about their music playing anymore. I really like those boys. :lmao:
Well, I'm off to bed. I can't wait until tomorrow. It will be 17 days!!!:woohoo:

I sent letters to all three schools today asking for the children to be excused for the six days that they will be missing, and they all got excused!! I also sent letters to each teacher asking for the work up front so that we can turn it in before we go. The teachers said that they appreciated the advance notice. I am sooooo happy!!
The best part is that my oldest DD has a class in HS that she has to interview & film. Her teacher has asked her to film special moments at Disney for her grade. She is super excited!!

Well, it has been an interesting day. It started when my 16 year old burnt her hand on her straightening iron this morning. :sad2: She grabbed it by the wrong end. After a trip to the DR, she is fine. It still hurts her but she is much better.
I have been in and out again all day. I did make a trip to WalMart and got small misting fans for the trip. They are loaded with batteries and ready to go. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow I am going to go look for a frogtogg towel for DH. I think he will appreciate one in the Florida heat. :crazy2:

Thank you. She is fine but my other DD woke up his morning with a fever. I'm thinking SWINE FLU!!:scared1: Some of her class mates have had it and I am so worried that they will get sick when it's time to go to Disney. Anyway, I took her to the Doctor and she tested negative, thank goodness. :cloud9: I just pray that I can keep everyone well because we only have 15 more days left!
I picked up a few more things at the store. Moleskin, some kind of corn pads or something some acid medication and a couple of other things. It's fun buying for the trip. :lovestruc
My BFF and I talked on the phone about the trip. I am starting to sense her excitement. She is a little more reserved than me. More like a lot!:rotfl2:
I bought some glass chalk to decorate our car windows. I've never done it before but I really want to do something. It's gonna be FUN!!!:cool1: Plus, DH wont be at home to stop me, and by the time he sees it, it will be to late! :rotfl2:

Wow, I was reading about those who have been recently and the wait times for their ADR's. Waiting 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hour for an ADR is insane. I hope it's not like that when we go.

Me too!! :thumbsup2
Well, we are 14 days away now. DD is feeling better so she will be back at school tomorrow. :thumbsup2 I am praying for a stress free day tomorrow. Today was rough, and it's not over yet. :headache: My papaw always said "tomorrow is a new day and it will be a good one". I am counting on it. :rolleyes1
I did have fun watching some youtube videos about Disney today. Gotta love them!! :lovestruc I am ready to go, and boy do we need this vacation. :rotfl2:

I can't believe it, it's almost here!!! I have been busy adding a few items here and there to my pile. I have my packing list going and slowly but surely I am getting things marked off. :woohoo: I am so excited but I am getting very forgetful. My mind is at Disney I guess. I walked out of the house without my cell phone yesterday, but I had my kitchen phone in my purse. :lmao:

I am now debating weather or not I should order a cake for our 20th Anniversary. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? :rotfl2: This whole time I was thinking that I would order one for 1900 Park Fare and see if the Prince & Cinderella could bring it out, or walk with them as they did. Now, I am thinking is it really worth 50 bucks or more? Please help me, what should I do?

To me that's a tough call because I'm a total cheap skate, but your 20th anniversary is a big deal. My vote is go for it (heck it's not my money :rotfl2:)! Just make sure you video it if the prince and cindy bring it out!

:woohoo:12 DAYS:woohoo:
I know you are too excited at this point. I have a hard time containing myself when we are that close to going. I still have 28 days. I hope everyone is doing better now. Being sick at Disney is not fun, I know from experience.
I ordered a cake when we were there in May and it was a pretty good cake, way too big for us to finish. It was $85 the cake was chocolate, with white chocolate filling and chocolate icing. It had the big white chocolate Mickey on top and the chef had hand painted him.

I think I am going to get a cake at Publix, while we are there, for our anniversary.

That cake looks amazing!! My DH loves chocolate cake but I love the regular birthday cake type icing, so I was thinking about doing one like that. Should I do that or get a cake from Publix? We will be celebrating a little early anyway, our anniversary is on Nov. 18th, but he will most likely be out of state at that time so we won't be able to go anywhere.
I am going shopping tomorrow for some new shorts for my DD. I hope that I can find some good deals. :cutie: I also picked up some Clorox wipes today to clean our room when we get there. It says it will kill flu germs so I'm counting on it. :rotfl2: We can't get sick at Disney!princess:

:cool1: I can start my 10 day count down tomorrow!!!!:dance3::cheer2::yay::woohoo:
We went to B'ham shopping today to find my DD some new shorts for the trip. :thumbsup2 I found some good deals and now we are just about set for the trip. I still have a list a mile long of last minute things to get but everything is going very well right now.
We have decided to drive Thursday night as far as we can, instead of staying with my inlaws. Long story, but this is working out even better. So now we will leave here and go to my mothers house, an hour & 1/2 away to drop the dogs off and then meet DH at his grandmothers, where we will leave his car for his meeting the following week. :upsidedow So, we can have an early dinner and hit the road. :cool1: I will be wired so DH can sleep and I will happily drive. My BFF & her girls will follow us down in her Sienna. I think Lindsey will ride with them to free up a little space in my SUV. We will also have less fighting that way too. :rotfl: Just talking about this today made me get so excited. :dance3:
I hope that we can make it all of the way to Ocala, but we will see. :cloud9:

I have started to get my clothes together for the trip. We have also started getting Laurens things together. I have two suit cases out and we have shorts only in them right now. We will be busy this week trying to decide what to take and what to leave. I always over pack but that's just me. :cutie: I don
t want to be there and wish I had brought something I forgot. :rotfl2: We will finish packing this weekend so everything will be ready. I will be super busy next week getting things around here done. :goodvibes
I bought DH a Frogg Togg towel today. Maybe he will use it to keep him cool. I have heard good things about them so we are going to try it. :thumbsup2
OMG... 10 more days!!!!:dance3:

WOW, it's only Tuesday and I am waiting for the weekend. It's gonna be a busy week. My BFF and I have decided to have a yard sale this weekend. :scared1: Oh my! I can't believe that we are doing this a week before we go but I could use some extra money for Disney, who couldn't right? Plus, it will kill some time and keep me busy.
After the yard sale, we have GOT to get packed. I still have some shopping to do with a list a mile long. I am going to my sisters house Thursday to pick up her two dogs. They leave for Disney Friday morning and I am watching them. :upsidedow She will watch mine for us while we are gone.
Well, I'm off to get the kids to bed. It's getting late. :littleangel:

Good luck with the yard sale. I hope you make lots of Disney money. I know you are running around like crazy trying to get it all together. I pulled out our suitcases today and started packing. Seeing the suitcases sitting out makes the trip seem so real.

Thank you! I hope that we do well. I put some items into a consignment sale and picked up a check for over 100.00 today. :thumbsup2 My sister made 100.00 too!! I hope that we do well too. I HATE having them but it's a great way to clean out some things.
I have also gotten our suit cases out and I will pack this weekend. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

UPDATE!!!!!
My sister leaves for Disney World in the MORNING!!!! They are so excited!!! I am watching her two dogs for her and they are sooo sweet!! It's gonna be a fun week, but I hope that it goes by fast!!
We will spend the weekend getting last minute items for the trip. The girls want to have their nails done, so we will be doing that sometime soon. princess: I still can't believe it, it's almost here!!!!:dance3:

Well, I was to excited to sleep this morning, knowing that my sister & her family hit the road for Disney before dawn. I hope that they have a safe trip down. :littleangel: I talked to her late night and they were running wild trying to get everything packed & ready. :rotfl2: They are staying at POFQ tonight and moving to SSR in the morning, with their free upgrade from POP. How nice, right?
I have so much to do today. I need to clean the house because DH is coming home tonight from working out of town. :lovestruc We are having our yard sale in the morning. My BFF, Felicia, will bring her things over later today and we can set everything up for that. Her DD who is 6 has the swine flu. She seems to be doing fine except for a tummy ache. :upsidedow Anyway, we are all trying to stay healthy. I don't want to be sick at Disney!
I am super excited today, it's the weekend and you know how fast they can go by!! We are almost there, just a few more days!!:woohoo:
We leave on Sunday, 2 days! I just called SSR to confirm our Treehouse Villa and the lovely CM said, "Oh, yes! We're all looking forward to seeing you!" You gotta love that. :goodvibes

I hope that you have a wonderful time!! I wish that I was leaving tomorrow, but we have five more days, and at this point I need them to get every thing ready. :rotfl2:
Well, my sister is at Disney World. I talked to her earlier and they were having a wonderful day at Epcot. They were chosen to open the park this morning so if you were there, that was MY sister. They had great weather today and the crowds were fine. :thumbsup2
I had the yard sale and boy am I tired. What didn't sell was hauled off by Faith Rescue Mission. Anyway, I did OK but it rained this morning so I think that it hurt it. It's fine, the kids now have enough spending money so we are good.
I also started to pack clothing today. I got mine ready and Lindsey's is almost done. I still have my other DD's & DS to go. It shouldn't take that long. :thumbsup2
Alabama just came on so I'm off to watch the game with DH. ROLL TIDE!!!!!
