I've lurked here for almost two years and finally decided to register! Now that I have, I am ADDICTED! This is going to be my first Pre-Trip Report, so bear with me.

WHO:

Cinderella: This would be me! I'm a college student who will graduate in December :banana: I am in love with all things Disney, of course! (OK, that's not true. I went to Disneyland a few years ago and didn't exactly love it:confused3 ) Here's me, in case you were curious:

Anyways, my parents took me to Walt Disney World almost every year from the time I was 2 until I was probably 7. We stayed at the Grand Floridian and I loved every minute of it!! We stopped going when my little brother and sister were born, but went again when I was 12 - back to the GF. Didn't go again until 2004 for a Grand Gathering at the Yacht Club. Since then I've gone every year and have stayed at GF, YC, Coronado Springs, and the Polynesian :love: .

Belle: This would be my friend/travel buddy! No one I know likes WDW as much as I do, which is probably how I ended up here on these boards! However, Belle wanted to get out of the cold and into the Florida sunshine so I convinced her to come along by telling her we didn't have to go to Disney...:rotfl2: However, now that she knows I totally tricked her into a few days in the World, she's excited!! We were roommates freshman year at college and are still really good friends 4 years later! She's awesome but will probably kill me if I post her picture here, but you'll probably see her later on when I post pictures from our trip.

WHEN:

March 18th - 23rd!

WHERE:

One night at All Star Sports, the rest at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Neither of us have stayed at the All Star before, but Belle has been to AKL with her family. We get in super late on our first night so we decided it would be stupid to pay for AKL just to sleep for a few hours, so that's why we're heading over to the All Star. I seriously cannot wait for AKL! Everytime I go into the hotel for Boma or Jiko I love it and tell myself I will stay here one day, and now that day has come!

OK, so we booked this trip fairly last minute but were still able to get some good reservations. I've changed these like at least 5 times since I made them the first time!!! OK here we go...

Arrival night:

We get in pretty late so we will probably have eaten something at the airport for dinner. Hopefully something will be open for us to grab a snack.

3/19:

No plans for breakfast. We'll probably grab something in the hotel food court before heading out to the parks.

Again, no plans for lunch so I'm guessing we'll hit up a counter service place in the park.

Dinner plans are for Tutto Italia in EPCOT at 7:00PM. I didn't have this booked originally but changed my other reservation after seeing some awesome pics in dining reviews and the food porn threads. I've never been here because my nana is Italian so I've tasted the good stuff. Now I'm excited to try this out!

3/20

Breakfast will be at the Wave this morning. I've never been here but the breakfast looked good. Belle is a health freak and I'm a vegetarian so I thought it would be something that appealed to both of us.

We aren't doing Disney this day (more on that later) so we won't be getting lunch on property.

Dinner is a late one - 9:15PM. But that is because I wanted to go to my ALL TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANT and it was the only time available. Where? That would be Ohana!! I just love the atmosphere at the Polynesian and we always have a good time here. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tropical drinks they serve. I see that they have changed the drink menu, but hopefully they can still make the good ones. Here are some drinks from our last trip to Ohana:

That would be the Malibu Macaw and the famous Lapu Lapu. The Malibu Macaw was AWESOME! I HATE the taste of hard liquor so this was perfect - you couldn't taste anything! Those of you who've had it will know what I mean. The Lapu Lapu was a little bit too strong for me, but it was SO adorable!!

3/21:

So this will kind of be a free day to hang out at the resort. I was just at Disney a few months ago and my friend isn't as obsessed as I am, so we're just going to take it easy. I'm excited to explore the resort and we will probably do breakfast and lunch at the AKL at their counter service place.

Dinner is at Raglan Road in DTD! I've gone back and forth between this one and finally decided to go ahead and book it. I may be meeting up with some friends who could be near Disney while we're there, so I figured (with the help of the people on these boards!) that it would be a good spot to get some dinner and drinks. I'm excited to try another new place!

3/22

OK, I've changed this day around the most. First I just had us eating dinner at Boma. Then I realized that this was our MK day so I had to schedule the Plaza for lunch. Then, after seeing so many people recommend Crystal Palace's breakfast buffet, I added that. I then freaked out and thought it was way too much food, but just to be sure I started a thread on here asking for opinions from all the experts!! They pretty much talked me out of three sit down meals in one day, but today was our only chance to eat at Plaza and CP because we are only going to be in MK for a day. So, I canceled Boma and moved the Plaza lunch to a dinner. I've never been to Crystal Palace before so I'm really excited!

3/23

Sad day. Time to go home :( But, we don't leave until late afternoon so I decided to get in some Boma action for breakfast. This should be a great way to spend our last morning in the World!

Your trip plans sound great so far. AKL is beautiful. Some day, maybe, I'll stay there. I think you made the right call for MK day. Those 3 meals would have been WAY too much food. Besides, you wouldn't have had time to do anything in the MK, you would have been too busy going from restaurant to restauran. Have fun!!!

I think I didn't enjoy it because I was so used to WDW. I didn't do a lot of research before we went so I had no idea what to expect. It was just not enough for me. We planned our whole day around it but got bored by 4PM and left! I would like to return someday and actually prepare before we visit. Maybe if I knew what to expect it would be more enjoyable!

Not long before I start packing, but I have SOOOO much to do between now and then. Finals and projects and all that stuff...no fun! At least I have something to look forward to.

I asked bacause I'm going for the first time in september and was curious what it was you didn't like, hopefully i won't be disapointed. I've done lots & lots of research and although i know its nowhere as big as WDW hopefully it will still be wonderful. I understand what you mean about it just wasn't WDW to you, i went to Disneyland Paris last year and although i have only been to WDW once i was so disapointed with the Paris one as it just didn't compare to me.

I love it when the packing starts, always gets me really excited as it feels like its all more real :woohoo: least you have things keeping you bsy, rather than the days just dragging by :)

I really want to thank everyone who has come by to read and/or left comments. It means a lot since this is my first PTR!

First of all, let me just say that I'm really sad that we won't have time for AK and HS :sad1: . I love, love, love the Kilimanjaro Safari and the Maharajah Jungle Trek - lions and tigers are my favorite! Anyways, here is what our itinerary looks like so far...

Unfortunately I have a final exam smack in the middle of the day, so I couldn't get on an earlier flight out to MCO. So we'll arrive late and take ME to All Star Sports. Not going to lie, I'm a spoiled brat and love my deluxe hotels. My stay at a mod (CSR) was fine, but those outdoor hallways give me the creeps! Needless to say I'm NOT looking forward to this night and I'll be lucky if I get any sleep! Thankfully it is only 1 night though!

3/19

OK, so we'll wake up and check out of All Star Sports. I guess we'll just leave our bags with them and tell them we're moving over to AKL. I've never done this before so if you had experience with a split stay, I'd LOVE to hear about any suggestions you have.

I don't have plans for breakfast set in stone. I guess we could get something in the food court at the resort, or grab something at the park. After we check out, then we will head over to EPCOT, which opens at 9AM today. I've heard some of the CS places serve breakfast. If so, maybe we'll grab some FP's for Soarin' and eat at Sunshine Seasons or something? I feel like Belle would think I'm nuts if I even planned out our non-TS meals, so maybe we'll just go with the flow!

After breakfast I want to make sure we do the following rides:

Soarin
Test Track
Spaceship Earth ---->How cool is this after the refurb, btw? I loved it!
The Seas with Nemo
Maelstrom

OK...I know that's not a lot. But Mission Space makes me want to vomit just thinking about it! The real reason I love EPCOT is because of the World Showcase. It's so awesome to walk around the lagoon, and my favorite is stopping by the Germany pavillion! Gotta love those yummy pretzels - and practicing my German, of course!

After we explore I think we'll probably head back to the resort for a nap or shower before dinner at Tutto Italia! Our ressie is for 7PM so I'm hoping we'll be in and out before Illuminations! Then it is back to AKL because we'll need our beauty sleep!

This would be our "free" day. I didn't plan anything because like I mentioned earlier, Belle didn't want to spend the whole time at the parks. So, today we'll probably just relax at the AKL by the pool. I can't wait to try some of the tropical drinks from the pool bar :cool2: Plus I need to get some sun before my trip to Arizona!

I really want to try WPE! I've been reading the awesome reviews on the dining board and that mac & cheese looks AMAZING! So, maybe we'll hit up DTD in the afternoon and eat there. But I don't know because we're already making the trip there for dinner later at Raglan Road. I'm hoping that some of my friends will be able to make it out tonight, and this seemed like the perfect place!

3/22

Rise and shine, time for the Magic Kingdom!!! I think this is the day I'm most looking forward to. We're trying Crystal Palace for breakfast and eating dinner at the Plaza - one of my favorites. Our breakfast reservation is for right after the park opens, so I'm planning on a laid back morning/ early afternoon here. We'll probably head back to AKL early and nap, because EMH is until 2AM tonight and I plan on staying the whole time! I can't wait to see Wishes - it's my favorite! Sometimes it makes me tear up - I know, I'm a dork!

Boma breakfast today before we leave :( Belle and I are on separate flights home because she's going to her parents house and I'm going to mine. Usually I'm SO sad to leave Disney, but since I have another (non-Disney) trip planed that next day and I get to go home and see my family - it should help lessen the pain of leaving!!! Especially since going home means I get to see my boyfriend! Isn't he a cutie?

All of your ADRs sound yummy! Especially Ohanas! I love it there!

You'll love AKL, especially if you like the Poly. AKL is so lush and exotic and gorgeous. Did you book just a standard view room or did you splurge for a savannah view?

Don't worry about the split stay, it's no big thing. Just remember that you might not have access to your bags until way later in the day. There have been times when we've went over to the other resort in the morning and got our room early, but our bags still didn't arrive until that evening. So anything you may need from them within a few hours, I would keep in my purse or backpack or whatever. And this may sound silly, but make sure you remember whose name you put the baggage under. My aunt once called down to get our luggage using her name, not realizing that my mom had given the guy her own name instead. :rolleyes1 It took them fifteen minutes of terrified searching before my aunt figured out what had happened. :idea: The CMs were so relieved!

Hey all! Some sad news to report. I was going to come on here and post some pictures of what I'm starting to pack for my trip. Sadly, I can't because I left my digital camera at home :( Or so I thought. I called my mom to have her send it to me so I could at least have it before I left, but she (THE master of finding anything and everything that has ever been lost, EVER) couldn't find it!

So, I'm thinking that when I cleaned out my room and threw away my old, old, old digital camera that didn't work anymore - I may have thrown away my new one? I don't know. I have NO IDEA where it could be. Now I have to go over to Best Buy and find a new camera...I'm so mad at myself!! Oh well. My little bro has been wanting a digi cam and hasn't gotten one, so I guess if my old one turns up he can have it. (I'm trying to make myself not feel guilty here!!)

Anyways, when I get back I'll post an update. In the meantime, have a great day!

So a lot of people think it's crazy that I'm only going to WDW for a few days, and even crazier that I'm only doing two parks. Well, as I said before, my friend doesn't want to spend the whole time at Disney so this was a way to compromise.

We're still staying on-site during our "days off" but don't have any park plans. Until today...when I decided that Typhoon Lagoon sounded fun! Belle loves waterparks so we think that on our day off on the 21st we will be hitting up Blizzard Beach before our ADR at Raglan Road. We wanted to go to TL, but it's closed for refurb until the 22nd, so we missed it by ONE DAY! (And, um, NO - I'm not switching around my schedule just for a waterpark!!). Does anyone have any experience going to Blizzard Beach? I went when I was 12 and it was okay - I just got sunburned the day before so I kind of just sat there and hid from the sun with my mom. Let me know how it is or if you know of any good places to grab lunch and a tropical drink!

Now our first day off -3/20- was actually the main inspiration for the trip and how the whole thing got rolling. I have a friend whose husband plays for a Major League Baseball team and I always try to visit her at least once or twice a year. I also just interned for an AWESOME team in the fall, so I wanted to go to their spring training and see everyone I worked with. Well, during the offseason my friend's husband signed with the team I worked for! So I decided to take a trip down to Kissimmee where they train and kill two birds with one stone. And last time I checked, Kissimmee is pretty darn close to Disney so obviously it would be a good excuse to hit up my favorite place yet again!

So on the 20th we have an ADR for breakfast at the Wave. Neither of us have eaten here before but it sounds really neat. I've seen lots of reviews for dinner here but we wanted to try breakfast. It's going to be a long day and I'm sure the ballpark only offers a limited selection of snacks, so we're just going to fill up early! Have any of you tried breakfast at the Wave yet?

When we get back, we have a late (9:15PM) reservation for Ohana. This is my FAVORITE restaurant on property so I don't care that we won't be eating dinner until late!! We might try to check in early and have some drinks at the Tambu Lounge while we wait. Anyone have any success checking in early?

An on another note, Belle said to me last night - "OK, I just got really excited for that pineapple ice cream in the Magic Kingdom!" This got me really happy because I want her to be excited about Disney and I think we might be headed in the right direction!!

So we're officially at the 10 day mark! So much to do before we take off at 7:30PM next Wednesday but I'm glad I have Disney to look forward to! As always, thanks for reading and I hope to share some pictures of what I'm packing as soon as I go get my new camera!

Hey all! So I got my new camera today! It is a Canon Power Shot and it was on sale for $150! The guy who helped me was SO cute, too :)

Anyways, I was going to take some pictures of the clothes I'm thinking of packing so you guys can help me decide, but when I got home it was dark out and the lighting just made everything look weird so I'll do that tomorrow.

Funny story: when I was walking out of the store, the guy that checks your receipts at the door was wearing Mickey ears! I told him I liked them and I think he thought I was making fun of him! I told him how much I love Disney and how I am going there next week but he didn't believe me, LOL! I thought that was hilarious!

In the meantime, I'm thinking of buying these shoes! Not for Disney but for the second leg of my Spring break trip which has me heading out to Phoenix. What do you think?

We got a REALLY good deal on AKL!! I would've never found it if it weren't for these boards, either. We are spending our first night at All Star Sports (Pop and all the other All Stars were booked) to save some money also. Plus my friend Belle just got into grad school so we are celebrating! And I know what you mean about NYC, it's just all relative I guess.

No, I got the Powershort but it's SD790? So, probably not as good as yours LOL! I just felt guilty spending money on a camera since I'm the idiot who lost it when I haven't even had it that long.

I love retro stuff! My biggest thing lately is 70's. Not like I wear 70's outfits or anything, I just like 70's inspired stuff! I think this started when I dyed my naturally dark brown (shhh! don't tell anyone!!!) hair blonde and can get away with wearing more things.

Yay!! I'm going to an Astros game in Kissimmee on 3/20. After I leave Disney on 3/23 I fly home and then fly to Phoenix with my dad because our team just moved there. We're staying for like 3 days and doing like 4 spring training games, a Suns game, and the Billy Joel/Elton John concert!

No I'm not, did I say I was? ;) LOL, just kidding but thanks for the compliments! It's so funny because most people who have known me for a long time think I look so weird with blonde hair. This is going to sound weird, but I'm not that excited right now. I was SO excited when I decided to go, REALLY excited when I booked my hotel, SUPER excited when I booked my ADR's, EVEN MORE EXCITED when my ME luggage tags came in the mail. But now, for some reason I'm not! I think it is because I have SOOOOOOOO MUCH to do between now and Wednesday night. I have 3 final exams and one final paper still to complete! I think I'm too stressed to get excited right now. How sad is that????

I got some really exciting news today! I talked to my friend (let’s go with “Aurora” for her) today and she is coming to EPCOT with Belle and me on the 19th! :cool1: Aurora is like a big sister to me, but ever since her husband got traded we haven’t been able to see each other very often. Also, she and Belle are very similar so I’m excited for them to meet. She’s going to pick us up at All Star Sports early on the 19th and we’ll all drive over and drop our stuff off at AKL. We’ll head out to EPCOT since our room won’t be ready until later. Aurora is staying the night since she plans to join us for “Drinks Around the World” through the World Showcase. Any suggestions on what drinks to try? I’ve only been there once since I turned 21, so I haven’t tasted too many.

Also, I went to get a pedicure today and got Chanel’s “Django” – the peachy pink color in the picture below. I know I don’t leave until Wednesday, but since I’m a Mystic Tan addict I wanted to do it soon since they exfoliate most of the tanner off my legs LOL! :lmao:

I don’t think I look like any of them, but I will definitely take those as HUGE compliments! I didn’t know bangs could do that much!!!

So you're going to catch a Spring Training game in Florida then head to Arizona for more? Super fan! What games are you going to in Phoenix? I know quite a few guys in the minors and a couple in the majors. Pretty much if they played at LSU in the last 5 years, I know them! I love Phoenix too! Me and my BF were talking about moving there this past weekend. I just love it there!

As far as drinks at Epcot.. I cant help you there.. I drink very little.. mainly because I get sloshed with only 2 winecoolers.. :rotfl2: I know.. I know.. its embarrassing.. I am one that CANNOT hold my liquor.. I get giddy, giggly and make a fool of myself! :lmao: :rotfl: so I choose to not drink except occassionally.. :rotfl: The zebra dome sounds yummy though.. :love:

I know what you mean about having so much to do at the end right before you leave and its hard to be excited.. but once you are on your way I bet it will sink in and you will be so excited you wont be able to stand it!

Please Please take a picture of the F&G Festival display in front of the "golf ball".. That display is always so beautiful and I cant wait to see what they are doing this year..

Luckily for the first time in the history of vacations he let me bring a friend! So if your friends know any good places to go out over near Scottsdale, please let me know! We're also going to Dodgers camp and Padres, too when the Indians are there. I need to see Manny - he's my all time favorite! And since you're a sports fan I know you'll appreciate that we are also going to a Suns game!

OK I cannot believe I have like 48 hours until I'll be in Disney. This freaks me out because I keep thinking about packing and setting aside what I'm going to pack, but I haven't actually done it yet! I had an exam tonight and another one tomorrow that is going to kick my butt, but I thought I'd post a picture of my bangs! They aren't too drastic but it's definitely different than my hair was before! The pic is kind of dark but I took it on the computer so whatever!

OK So as I am getting ready I keep thinking of things I MUST do when I get there. Which got me thinking, I'm sure everyone has different things they love and hate at WDW.

So I want to know - what is your most favorite thing to do at Disney and your least favorite? What are your pet peeves? I'll go first...

*My favorite thing is watching Wishes and just thinking about how awesome it is that Walt Disney had this crazy idea that actually came true!! I just think its fascinating, and then I cry. If he could do all of that, then I have no excuse not to try to reach my goals. Corny, I know.

*My least favorite thing is LEAVING! I know I'll come back eventually, but I've never booked a trip or had another trip booked while I'm finishing up a vacation. I get SO sad.

*My pet peeve is just snotty people who think they are too good for Disney but are doing their kids a favor by bringing them there. I used to see this ALL THE TIME when we stayed at GF! Do you guys know what I mean? SO ANNOYING! And such a downer.

I get very annoyed when people let there kids act up and be rude to them... that is not ok with me, kids need to respect there parents. But more importantly parents need to not allow that behavior! My folks would have never brought me back to WDW if I had acted the way I see kids acting now...

ITA with you about the CM's! I have a summer job in guest services and I've realized that the way you treat people really makes or breaks their experiences. Disney does a really good job of hiring CM's that love what they do!!

I can totally relate to your Disney pet peeve, I work with a girl like that! She talks about bringing her daughter and then like huffs and puffs about it. Also there was this guy in there talking about how him and his wife took their honeymoon in Disney and she was making fun of him asking him if his wife's parents came with them too and laughing! I was getting so mad because shes just too stupid to see what a great place it is and appreciate it! So annoying! :mad:

I don't know too much about Scottsdale. Most of the guys I know are in South Florida. Me and a friend of mine went to visit a friend of ours who played for one of the Blue Jays minor league teams in Tampa once and spent everyday at the beach and everynight at the ballpark. It was one of the best vacations EVER! My favorite team is the Orioles though, but I haven't been to an MLB game in years! We may make a trip to Wrigley this summer though - fingers crossed!

It took forever to figure out how to post but I had to let you guys know that I am in love!!!! Eddie from Ireland is a bartender at rose and crown and oh my god. So cute and so nice. Belle and aurora made me write my # on the back of my receipt and leave it so I did but he never called lol. But seriously, those eyes... Ok ok ill stop. But were having so much fun! Mk is tomorrow, today is free day and were going to Wolfgang puck express lunch and Raglan road dinner! I can't wait to share all my pics with you guys and tell you all about it!also there's a cute waiter cousin Gary at ohana! Hi all. I'm sitting on our balcony right now getting ready to pack up and leave. I want to cry right now!! Do you guys get sad like this when you leave? Its horrible not know when or if I will ever come back. I got a 40 percnt off pin code but I can't find anyone to go with. I'm trying to convince my mom to do a weekend or my dad to take us all down for a week. Anyone have good tips to convince people to go to Disney? And the money isn't a problem now so its really just about convincing Disney haters! Ok, I don't have my laptop so I won't be posting the pics until I get back from phoenix. So I just got home from the airport a few hours ago and I am borrowing my brother's computer while he's in the shower. I need to catch up on everyone's PTR's and TR's ASAP when I get back to school! When I get back I'll also begin posting my TR and hopefully a dining review. This trip was awesome!
*ALSO, my mom is "thinking" about coming with me for a weekend to go to Disney so that I can use mt 40% off PIN code! I need to do some SERIOUS persuading. Any tips?! I'm trying to say we can stay at an EPCOT resort and just relax. Walk over to the World Showcase, check out the Flower&Garden Festival, etc. She's a really laid back person. Said she doesn't want to go because she "wouldn't be fun" and that there is no point because she doesn't like to go on most of the rides. ANY TIPS YOU HAVE, I'D APPRECIATE :) I'm thinking Beach Club or Boardwalk would be to her liking so if you have any great pics of those resorts, I'd love to see them!
