It's not completely unheard of. We had free dining for Christmas last year, so there's no one to say that they won't have free dining for Thanksgiving and/ or Christmas again this year! (I'm pulling for it too, we're going back 2nd week in Dec :goodvibes )

Not for the general public...But people have been getting the person specific Disney pincodes for free dining for dates into Dec 2009...not everyone gets them though.

We took advantage of a pin code that covered Thanksgiving week for free dining!!! I haven't heard anything for the public, but there was free dining for Disney Visa last year around the holidays.

Yep - there is an offer that covers this Thanksgiving - but it is available only to those who receive targeted PIN code e-mails and the codes are not transferable.
