As most of you know, I don't drink and I feel like I miss out on so many tasty specialty cocktails. (took all my self control to not be a wise guy there..but I just blew that didn't I...twice no less!)
Does anyone have any favorite non-alcoholic drinks they can recommend? Last year I was very excited to try a watermelon slushie in Epcots Morocco pavilion..but it was awful! Artificial flavor and undrinkable.
What's a girl to do????? :confused3

I've read TR's where people have purchased "non-alcoholic" Lapu Lapu's from the Polynesian. I've personally never had one before (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) but from what I've read they sound pretty tasty! (I do plan on trying the alcoholic version at the end of the month while I'm there.) I think they are a bit expensive though - at least $10 for the non-alcoholic one. But it does come in its own souvenir coconut, so that’s something to consider!

In all honesty, I thought the lapu-lapu was vile. And it comes in a hollowed out fresh pineapple (which is why I got it). To be fair, it's got gin,and I've never been a fan of gin.
If you're going to Tambu Lounge or O'hana get the pina coladas. They're amazing. And they come in the virgin variety as well.

Wow, everyone's being so mean to Rosie....shocker! ;)
Haha, no really, though. I love the LapuLapu. It's yummy. If you want a yummy frozen beverage, at the Tambu Lounge there is a drink called Island Sunset, I believe. You should get one of those without alcohol. It's sooo tasty and fruitylicious!! My partner and I went through a couple of those each one day, they were so good!

Just do what I do! When I don't want something with alcohol (and yepper, there are those rare instances... :teeth: ) I just tell the bartender that I don't like sweet things, prefer sour/tart and can s/he make something for me.
I get the BEST drinks that way. :teeth: Tart and refreshing, eh? :teeth:

Honey, you just need to start slow and work your way up. Like training for a marathon.

In the MK the ever popular Dole Whip is great.
Every resort lounge will be able to make you a Lava Smoothie. Its a non alcholic Pina Colada with a rasberry splash!
All resort pool bars will be able to make you an Orange Dream, a non alcholic dream cycle type of thing, and a Sour Apple Freeze, kind of like sour apple bubble gum.
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.....

Poly Juice! Well, that's what we call it, but the real name is Lilikoi Juice and it is a wonderful mixture of passion fruit, orange juice, and guava. The alcoholic version is really pretty darn good too, but too. :thumbsup2 We have only found this at the Poly. Yet another reason to love the Poly. :lovestruc

It is easy to feel like an outsider as a non-drinker. I don't drink and don't want to. I would not vote for prohibition. In fact, I think alcohol abuse among people under legal drinking age would not be anywhere near the level it is if we didn't make drinking alcohol a sign of being an adult in a world where there are very few signs. Since children have such sensitive taste buds, I suspect that if we just gave them a little taste of something pretty hard in a Dixie cup without making a big deal out of it the child would soon lose interest in obtaining a refill.
Strawberry or banana daqs easily disguise the fact that you are a non-drinker. I can't taste the difference between the virgins and the ones with the alcohol.
Bar staff would be happy to make suggestions. One night I ordered a hot chocolate while out with friends on a windy night while on medication that specifically said that it was not to be mixed with alcohol. The server brought it but told me that the bartender had told her to tell me to say that it was Bailey's if anybody asked because they didn't want to start a trend. If you don't want to drink but don't want to bring too much attention to the fact that you don't, nearly anything that looks pretty will do the job for you.
