Our first WDW trip together - Rob and Darcy Take Over the World

Dates: March 25 to April 1.

Players: Rob (aka Bloodhound) and Darcy (aka nurse.darcy)

How it came together: We met on a trip to Disneyland in October and began a long conversation that eventually went from friendship to love. Since we both love Disney we decided that we HAD to plan a trip to the world. Of course, one trip leads to another so now we actually have 3 trips planned though this one will be the first.

Here we are at Rainforest Cafe in Vegas enjoying a little refreshment.

Where: Port Orleans Riverside on the 4/3 deal.

We have reservations so far at a couple of favorites:

Fultons Crab House (my fave)
Yak and Yeti (we are trying this for the first time)
Bistro de Paris (I love this restaurant)
Teppan Edo (always fun to watch the chefs)

We might make some more but haven't decided. Of course we will probably go to Rainforest Cafe at DTD and maybe again at Animal Kingdom (we went to the one at Disneyland and Las Vegas so got to keep up the tradition). And are considering ressies at Tony's Town Square.

We have a plan to go to rope drop at AK and spend all day there cause we both really love this park and the animals and sometimes when with others we have been rushed out. Of course this means several turns on Expedition Everest and Kilamanjaro Safari. And Rob swears to me he knows which seats to sit on for Kali River Rapids where you don't get as wet. . .I keep telling him I am a water magnet and if he rides with me he WILL get wet. . .many friends have endured collateral water damage after riding water rides with me.

Wow, so many on board already. Woo hoo.

Okay, so I left off the important details. . .

Rob and I fly in from different states so we don't get to the airport in Orlando at exactly the same time. Poor Rob has to wait around till I get there (about 40 minutes). Then its off to Magical Express who will whisk us away to our hotel.

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. I requested Mansions cause I love this section of the resort. It is so peaceful and beautiful. I stayed there over the summer with my son and just loved it.

This will be my 2nd time at Bistro. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is great. Hard to believe there is something so sophisticated in a Disney park. And I was dressed VERY casual. . .fit right in.

Wow, its now only 8 days till the trip and I am really excited. Talked to Rob last night to firm up some details. Today I need to go buy a new suitcase as the wheels on mine have cracked and it doesn't roll well.

POR is such a beautiful resort. I absolutely love the mansions section and am hoping that my request for that section is honored.

So far we have ressies for meals at:

Tony's Town Square
Bistro De Paris
Fultons Crab House
Teppan Edo
Yak and Yeti

We are also going to go to Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood as we have gift certificates for those places.

Both of us are animal lovers and so we are spending our first full day (Thursday) going to Animal Kingdom. I cannot wait to fully explore this park and take in everything - shows and all. I have done quite a bit of exploring but never the entire park in one day. Since our dinner ressie is 4 p.m. at Yak and Yeti, we plan on being there for the whole day - park closes at 6. After dinner we will head back to our hotel for a swim then off to another park for fireworks or a show.

You should go. Its a great meetup and I have made lifelong friends through the meet last year. Don't worry about trying to keep up. Everyone just goes at their own pace and small groups tend to form and break off from the main get-togethers cause you can't possibly get 27 people together to go on all the same rides and stuff.

You will have a blast!

Thank you very much. Its kind of funny. We have always had this bond. I never really had to discipline much cause he was (and still is) always such a good kid. I instilled my Disney addiction on him and he "gets" it. I really never wanted to have children but my ex convinced me to have a child. Brandon was the result of that and God must have known that I would need a strong, independent child who was good and rarely misbehaved. I don't think I could have handled any other type of kid. . .roflmao. . .

Well, we checked into Riverside without issue. That online check in does really speed you through the line. We got a room in the Mansions section (my request), a corner room (also my request). Its directly across from one of the quiet pools which is awesome. We went and had dinner at Fultons. . .sorry didn't think to take the food porn pic. We had a whole Maine lobster stuffed with crab, shrimp and scallops. . .omg was it fabulous. I promise to do food porn pics tomorrow. . .woo hoo. . .
