Astrantia-Also called Masterwort. This is a new plant for me. I purchased it this week while at the nursery. It's planted on the north side of my property which gets partial shade. I've planted it with hosta, astilbe and impatiens.

Astrantia is said to have a natural charm. It blooms late spring through summer in semi-shade and in ordinary, moist in the summer soil. It grows 12-24 inches high. I've chosen the "Rubra" variety that has a pink lacy foliage.

I have seen this in flower arrangements - but never seen the plant at the nursery! Let us know how it "grows" would you?!

I returned to the nursery and purchased a white one to go with the pink. They are starting to fill out and they are in bloom and I love them.
